OpenGL.framework crashes

Question

hi everyone,
my friend's mac is having a problem and i'm a pc system admin so my possibilities to help them are very limited.
everytime they plug in the webcam to use with skype or even try to mount a dvd they get following error message:
(command and path are then different of course)

the same error message pops up with different applications as well. i'm pretty sure it's the opengl.framework causing the problem, but i have no clue how to fix it. i googled but i can't find anything useful. we tried disk repair (?) but no success. can anyone give us some advice / help please?

Hi kimon, and a warm welcome to the forums!
It appears to be time for a relatively painless Archive & Install, which gives you a new/old OS, but can preserve all your files, pics, music, settings, etc., as long as you have plenty of free disk space and no Disk corruption, and is relatively quick & painless...

Just be sure to select Preserve Users & Settings.
