Helllo,
I use command start /MIN acrobat xxx.pdf and I have no problem to open a PDF. Now I want to replace xxx.pdf with a URL link that points to PDF file... So I use this command: C:\>start /MIN acrobat "https://www2.sea.accessline.com/tw2/GVXS:7a050-c2e6b-3a46560850102f-108943411" This later command opens the Acrobat window but also a dialog stating:
When I directly click on the URL that points to the PDF it opens it in the PDF window not browser which I want... Off course I have turned on some of my i.e. Internet Options. I think this has to do with security set inside of Acrobat application.

What do you mean by "determined by the local preferences of the user"? This URL coming to me inside of email I receive via Outlook I am not in a Browser when I open this URL... If that is how can change the local preference to it opens in Acrobat Windows rather Browser?

How to Open a URL that is displayed in the Column of Results Region in OAF

I need to open Invoice pdf from OAF page. The link to the pdf is obtained from other table.
This is similar to Open Image button that we have in Payables--> Invoice: Entry --> Invoice form.
I need to develop an OAF page where in when the user clicks on the pdf url link, the corresponding pdf has to open for the transaction line.
I have an OAF page for which in the results region, i retrieve a column that contains URL addresses.
Say, I have a column named: URL_ADDRESS (www,yahoo.com) in a table and when i press the search button, all the URL addresses are populated in the results region.
I have defined an item with Style: messageStyledText, and i have set the View Instance and View Attribute properties corresponding to the VO that it is referring to...
What property do i need to set in DestinationURL??
My OAF page is based on pure VO. I dont use EO in my OAF page.

particular location.
To be more specific, when I use /myresource/image.gif,
how cat I instuct it
to use the image.gif file which is in myjar.jar?
Thanks.getResource() will search the CLASSPATH for the given resource. If myjar.jar is your application and contains a file "image.gif" in the directory "myresources" gif the above given code will load the image from the jar.

It seems a silly question, but how to open it?

That's a URL for a usenet group. Those aren't used very much anymore (except by some true diehards), and it's likely your ISP doesn't even provide the service directly, though there are ways to access them via the web. In your case, click here.
If you wanted to configure your browser to handle them, well, it would help to know what browser you're using. For Firefox, you could try the instructions here, but I'd guess it wasn't worth it, unless you had to deal with such links often.

Many sites which offer specific "print formatted" pages do that: they assume that once you have finished with the print dialog you no longer want the page itself. So for your convenience they close it. Not so convenient for you, since you still want to view the page.
I'm not aware of an easy solution for this. I can think of a couple different approaches.
First, maybe there's an add-on to solve this? That would be easiest.
Second, maybe there's a userscript to solve this?
The Greasemonkey add-on runs userscripts which you can copy or download. Be careful to install only long-establish and trusted scripts. (''Is there a site that has this bad behavior that I can view without logging in? I will test one of my existing scripts to see whether it helps.'')
Third, Firefox has an old system for restricting site permissions in a custom text file in your profile folder (named user.js). Editing this file is a bit advanced, and I haven't been able to test it, but the system works along these lines:

Problem while opening a link of a PDF that points to a specific page to another PDF

PDF links whose URIs include backslashes are interpreted by Acrobat Reader browser plug-in as local file-system links even when they are not. This means that a link that points to a specific page number will open the file but not automatically jump to the desired page . In our browser-based viewing tool, this means that the links are perceived as not working.
for example : from IE Browser When we tried to open the link in PDF 1 which has the URL of the 5th section of PDF2 and the URL includes the backslashes then the Specific section of PDF2 is not getting opened . The link just opens the PDF2 first page. This Specific problem does not arrives if we try to open the link through Adobe Reader or if the URL mentioned in the PDF is formed using forwordslashes instead of backslashes.

How to open a URL address within a PDF document?

I'm using Adobe Reader X, v 10.1.3
When coming across a URL address, my curser turns into a "hand" when clicking it, but it won't take me to the website, even though I have an open browser (chrome) in the background. The Help Files have been of no help. Can anyone help me? I tried preferences, looking under the Internet option, but nothing seems to address this need.

Hi there - I could click the URL in your note above and I wound up on the Adobe website. (When hitting the windows key and the letter R key together, if that's what you meant, nothing happened. When going via Start button, RUN, the http entry resulted in chrome openining a new Adobe window/tab as expected. I've not had any trouble getting any hyperliks to open, until I tried one in a PDF document using Adobe Reader X earlier today. I tired reinstalling Adobe X, updated from the 10.1.3 version, but the new version never seemed to install. However, going back to the original program, same PDF doc, when clicking on the hyperlink, lo and behold, this time, a window opened up asking me if I trusted the site, to which I checked off "yes", then clicked Allow, and it took me to the appropriate website. I haven't a clue why this failed to work before, and no window appeared like the one I just tried.
So thanks for your help, but it appears that it's fixed itself.

How can I stop my Firefox browser from preventing Click Earner, a program that opens email ads on safelists, from opening the URL's in the email ads?

Hello fellow-users of Mozilla Firefox,
I send email ads using 20 different safelists every day. To get credits for sending those ads I click email ads sent by other subscribers.
Since early this year I've been using Click Earner -- http://www.clickearner.net/ -- to help speed up this task. Click Earner "fetched"
the emails from each safelist and opened each URL advertised in each email. This was a very quick job and all I did was close each tab
displaying the URL. Credits for clicking the URL were added to my safelists accounts.
Since a week ago, without me doing anything at all, my Click Earner stopped opening the emails automatically as was the case for
several months since I started using it. Click Earner support claimed Firefox prevented the program from opening the URL in a new tab each time it fetched an email ad. True enough, yesterday when I watched Click Earner in action I saw a pop-up from Firefox saying something like "Firefox prevented..." I couldn't read the rest as the pop-up disappeared immediately. And that was the only
time I saw it.
Right now I have to open each URL manually to see the ad and earn credits. This is a very slow process, just the same as when I open the emails in my gmail account. It's useless for me to subscribe to Click Earner. And it takes forever for me to earn credits from all the safelists.
I'd appreciate it very much if any one of you folks would help me overcome this glitch. I look forward to hearing from you and thank you very much in anticipation.

You could try turning off Firefox's pop-up blocker.
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Content
There you will find a checkbox for "Block pop-up windows". Assuming it's checked, uncheck it.
Does that return to the behavior you want?

PDF files cannot be natively opened in InDesign. They can only be placed as graphics.

With Windows Explorer, navigate to your C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support folder.
Copy the SQLite3.dll that you should find there, navigate to the nearby Mobile Device Support folder, and Paste it in there also.
Reboot and see if all is well
In case that your OS is Windows 7 (64 bit)
1. Open windows explorer, go to location C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
2. Copy file "SQLite3.dll"
3. Open new windows explorer, to to location C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support
4. Paste file "SQLite3.dll" to the location.
5. Reboot your computer, it should not display that message, it should be clear.

When i try and open a tab that is the same as the page im currently on i closes it self. not when i type the full address, but when i use the arrow keys to select the url and press enter

Providing users with a URL that will open up a Discoverer Worksheet

The plan is to use a URL within an iFrame on our website which automatically logs the user into a worksheet.
I have created a generic Oracle user and created a workbook with one worksheet - these have both been shared with the new generic user.
At present, I am able to log into Viewer, but can only get as far as the 'Select Workbook' screen - requiring the user to then expand the workbook and open the worksheet - I can't seem to open the worksheet in the URL.
This was the example URL that one of the DBA's gave me:

I created the little html form as described and still get prompted for the password.
Once password is entered the correct worksheet is opened, but I need to remove the need to enter the password.
