Opening a widget in a specifically sized window.

I recently read Old Toad's tutorial on how to open a file in a user defined window and I would like to do this with my radio widget. The problem is that I don't know what the URL to the widget would be. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Can you get the info you want by finding the URL in the source code of the page after it's been published/worked-over by iWeb?

  • How to open a photo in it's own window.

    I am looking for a way to have a linked photo open in it's
    own, small sized window on top of the current web page when the
    thumbnail image is clicked. At the moment, the linked photos open
    in a new, full size, white background window and I have to use the
    back command on the browser to go back to the original image page.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Nope. That won't work well since the window won't be sized to
    the image,
    and the image will always be left aligned. Jo is bang on with

  • Open specific sized browser window from Flash

    Can anyone tell me what the script is to make a button open a
    specific sized browser window with another flash file in it?
    http://www.partnerscreative.net/Test/BMS
    this link shows the banner that will be on the sites
    homepage, when you click on anything but the pdf link I want it to
    open the linked flash file into a browser window sized specifically
    to 720 x 600 pixels.
    Please help.
    Thank you.

    The command to open a new window would be the "_blank" part of a command to link to a web page in the code below.
    navigateToURL(new URLRequest("http://www.anothersite.com", "_blank"));
    As far as the new window closing and getting back to where you were in the original window, I don't understand where that original window might have gone to... You should be wherever you last left it.

    Use Dreamweaver. Fireworks = Image editor. Dreamweaver = HTML
    editor.

  • Help me open a link in a new custom-sized window.

    I know how to open a link in a new window target="_blank" but I can't figure out how to get the window to open to a custom-sized window.
    Look at this page http://web.mac.com/theshow2/iWeb/weddings/Samples/Samples.html and hit the "Sample #1" link to see what I'm talking about. I want the window to open to the size of the movie instead of all the dead-browser space around it.
    Can anybody out there help me?

    Read through this topic for some ideas about using Javascript to open links in a new window.
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=1960167&#1960167
    It may not include the custom-sizing you're specifically interested in, but you may well find general information which will be of help.

  • Do all versions of Adobe support opening a PDF to a specific page?

    I am looking to append a url with "#page=x" in order to open a PDF to a specific page. Do all versions of Adobe support this functionality?

    Well, we first have to define what we mean by Adobe.
    Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat do, not in all versions but in recent versions (the last decade or so).
    It works only in certain browsers, and only if the PDF is opened in the browser window NOT downloaded or opened separately.
    I assume you are aware that there are many non-Adobe PDF viewers (e.g. those built into Chrome, FireFox, Safari, and IE on Windows 8); each will have their own idea of what to do.

  • How can I open a customized report in a new window?

    I am trying to create printable views for my reports that are published as portlets. In specific, I would like a link to open the report up in a new window where the user can print at. I have figured out how to do this with the default report created. However, after a user has customized the report, is there a way to open the customized report in a new window?

    Hi
    I do not think it matters whether your reports portlet is a default one or a customize one. I think whne you place the portlet, you can specify in the property to open up the result in new window. I think it is common feature of Portal.
    Thanks

  • LINK : open a PDF at a specific size (acrobat X)

    Hi all,
    I'm creating links between several PDF files.
    For some links, I open the PDF a new window (with regular link options).
    But, I need to open the pdf at a specific size, as a HTML/ javascript popup.
    Is ther a way to achieve this?
    Many thanks in advance .

    Yes , the feature is available in Acrobat.Any section on a page can be defined as a named destination. The panel to do so is available through View->Navigation Panel->Destinations. Also there is a list of PDF open parameters which can be given in command line , one of them is nameddest. So if you select a section on the page and name it X, and give acrord32.exe /a nameddest=X filename.pdf, the focus would be on section X. These command line parameters are honored by both Acrobat and Reader but destinations can be viewed and added through Acrobat only. Needless to say, this would work even if the page number changes.

  • Clicking link in mail opens a new tab, not a new window

    When clicking on a link in AppleMail, after a recent update, opens a tab in a random window or perhaps the top window in Safari.  Until this update, clicking on the link used to open a new window.  This is driving me nuts.  I am getting links from mail opening in a new tab in Safari windows I reserve for specific topics, or uses.  I do not want unrelated mail links opening and interfering with work in these existing browser windows.  Also, when I see the link from mail is not wanted, I too often close the window like I usually do, but now inadvertently close a Safari window with multiple tabs of important information, that I have trouble recreating.  Where did this come from!?  How do I change it so a new window opens?

    I was having the same problem and finally figured out how to change this bahavior.  Go to Safari preferences under the 'Tabs' settings.  Make sure the field "Open pages in tabs instead of windows" is set to NEVER.  That should do the trick.

  • Identify a specific Safari window

    I am trying to write a script to screencapture or print a specific Safari window.
    I have 6 monitors, 1 monitor is always devoted to one Safari window that displays the same website. Other Safari windows are open as well, in addition to other applications. How do I identify the Safari window that I want to script knowing that it is in the same position with the same URL?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Redshark,
    Use the filter reference form:
    tell application "Safari"
    -- get reference to document by url
    set d to first document whose URL is "someurl"
    -- do something with d
    try
    set t to text of d
    on error
    display dialog "No document with that url."
    end try
    end tell

  • Strange Error while opening Web UI in a new browser window

    Dear Experts
    My requirement is to launch one of my custom Web UI screens in a new window upon clicking a button.
    I am successfull in lauching it in new window.
    How did I do it:
    Step 1) Created a custom object type (ZOBJ) for my z component in SPRO->UI Framework Definition->Define UI Object Types.
    Step 2) Created a logical link (ZLL) for my Z component in SPRO->UI Framework->Technical Role Definition->Define Navigation Bar Profile.
    After that, In the same path, select Define Profile->Define Generic OP mapping->(Here Assign Object type ZOBJ(step 1) and Logical link ZLL(step 2) )
    Then created a dynamic URL and passed this URL to the "on_client_click" parameter of my button.
    Sample code is below.
    I put the below in the .htm of the view where my button was declared.
    data: lv_url_string TYPE string.
    lv_url_string = 'http://server name:port number/sap/bc/bsp/sap/crm_ui_frame/default.htm?sap-syscmd=nocookie&
    crm-object-type=ZOBJ&crm-object-action=B'.
    Note: Here ZOBJ is my custom object type that I created for my Z component.
    <thtmlb:button id            = "NW"
                         onClientClick = "javascript:window.open('<%= lv_url_string %>');"
                         tooltip       = "New Window"
                         text          = "New Window" />
    Problem I am facing:
    The above code is successfully opening my custom screen in a new window.
    But on the toolbar (where we usually see error messages in Web UI),
    I am getting an error message with the below description.
    Type= SYSTEM_ERROR, ID= ERROR_SESSION_INIT, description= 16AA9A3937A9BB56E10000000A11447B
    I am not able to understand what this error is.  The message is appearing only for the first time I am displaying my Z component in a new screen. Interestingly, when I do some action on my screen (expand the assignment block for example), this message is gone.  This message doesn't seem to be effecting any functionality, but the users certainly don't want to see an error messsage like this.
    I did some research on this and this error looks to be coming from the class CX_WS_MESSAGE_SYSTEM.
    This class has an attribute (CX_ROOT) with initial value "16AA9A3937A9BB56E10000000A11447B" (same one I am getting in my error message). I am not sure though because this attribute (CX_ROOT) is present in several other classes also.
    I would really appreciate if somebody can throw some light on this issue.
    Thanks
    Raj

    Hi Arun
    Thanks for your reply.
    I tried the way you suggested. But unfortunately I am still getting the same old error.
    Forget to mention something...actually I am seeing this error in the new session (window) only. My original window is not showing any error.
    And also just FYI...This is inside the Interaction Center Web UI profile ->Account Identification -> Identify Account->Enter Account ID->Click on Confirm button.
    At this point, I am first showing a popup window with text "Do you want to open Partner details in new window".
    This popup has 2 buttons 'Yes' and 'No'.. If the user clicks on 'Yes', then I am opening my custom screen (Partner Details) in a new window.
    This is the point I am seeing the error  (only in the new window).
    Type= SYSTEM_ERROR, ID= ERROR_SESSION_INIT, description= 16AA9A3937A9BB56E10000000A11447B
    This custom screen contains several (only) assignment blocks (all lazy initially). When the user expands on any assigment block, the error is gone and everything looks good.
    Please suggest.
    Thanks and Regards
    Raj

  • If I already have firefox open in Linux, how can I open a new URL in a new window.

    I want to be able to click on a button, and have firefox open a new window at a given URL. Currently, if I already have firefox running, then it opens a new tab, which may be on a different desktop. Having to detach the new tab to a new window and move it back to the right desktop seems like unnecessary work.

    If you mean a shortcut or link ''completely outside of Firefox,'' there is a hidden preference to change how that works. This requires a visit to the about:config preferences editor. I think it's (C) below that you might want to change.
    In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
    In the filter box, type or paste '''link.o''' and pause while the list is filtered.
    Double click these and set the value as desired:
    '''(A) browser.link.open_newwindow'''
    3 = divert new window to a new tab (<u>default</u>) (checked*)<br>
    2 = allow link to open a new window (unchecked*)<br>
    1 = force new window into same tab
    '''*''' First checkbox in Options > Tabs
    '''(B) browser.link.open_newwindow.restriction''' - for links in Firefox tabs
    0 = apply the setting under (A) to ALL new windows (even script windows)<br>
    2 = apply the setting under (A) to normal windows, but NOT to script windows with features (<u>default</u>)<br>
    1 = override the setting under (A) and always use new windows
    '''(C) browser.link.open_newwindow.override.external''' - for links in other programs
    -1 = apply the setting under (A) to external links (<u>default</u>)<br>
    3 = open external links in a <u>new tab</u> in the last active window<br>
    '''2 = open external links in a <u>new window</u>'''<br>
    1 = open external links in the <u>last active tab</u> replacing the current page
    Does that work?

  • I open iWeb but the main window doesn't open/appear on screen. The little windows like the inspector and font windows appear. Can anyone help?

    I open iWeb but the main window doesn't open/appear on screen. The little windows like the inspector and font windows appear. Can anyone help?

    Try the following:
    1 - delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iWeb.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
    2 - delete iWeb's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
    User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder (Snow Leopard and Earlier).
    3 - launch iWeb and try again.
    NOTE:  In Lion and Mountain Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.

  • W/zoteroinstalledwedo a window,open() followed by a window.close() in tha window. Zotero remains and the window is still open. How do I close the window with zotero present in FF w/o disabling zotero?

    the js function to window.open() is in pageAA on a tab.
    We click the form or link to open the popup to run a video.
    We have a close button on the popup window.
    When that is clicked the window.close() js is executed on that page leaving Zotero present and the popup still open.
    We've tried using close() window.close() name.window.close() and
    all fail the same way.
    Short of disabling Zotero is there a way to close the popup in FF and any other addons with one shot?

    Thank's but still no fix.
    In safe mode everything works.
    Without Zotero - everything works.
    When the popup is loaded with Zotero, the tab shows a constant "Loading" with the circular in process icon.
    The Zotero icon shows to the left of the tab.
    If I right click on Zotero and close it, the close() js works properly
    Is there a way to do a window.open() with:
    A. no tabs -or-
    B. block all add on's -or-
    C. to kill an add on
    before doing the close()?
