Opening an url in a blank window

Hi,
I have a button called bt07 and I would like
when you click down this button to open an url
in a blank_window (for exemple google.com)
I wrote this code below but I don t know
how writting the code to open the url ????
if someone knows...
//mouse down
bt07.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN,auSurvolSurbt07);
function auSurvolSurbt07(e:Event){
bt01.gotoAndStop(1);
bt02.gotoAndStop(1);
bt03.gotoAndStop(1);
bt04.gotoAndStop(1);
bt05.gotoAndStop(1);
bt06.gotoAndStop(1);
bt07.gotoAndStop(2);
if(bt07OkayToPlay){
   resetStatuses(); // reset first
   bt07OkayToPlay = false;

Look into using the navigateToURL function.  It includes a parameter for specifying the window to open as well.

  • Open all URLs in a blank window?

    This is not stricly a Dreamweaver question, more like a
    general HTML
    question. I used DW to build an environment around my blog
    using Blogger's
    system.
    What I was thinking about, is there some html code that I
    can write
    which forces all URLs within the page to open up in a new
    window? I'm used
    to writing target="blank" after every hyperlink, and needless
    to say it's
    getting tedious.
    In a similar fashion, would there be a code I could use to
    override that
    function just in case I wouldn't want it to be opened in a
    new window?
    Thanks in advance.
    -Ziggy.

    To have all links open in a blank window by default use the
    base tag. It
    goes in the <head></head>
    <base target="_blank">
    To override this just set a specific target on the link you

  • Captivate 7 Click box and bottons not able to open an URL on a new window

    I inserted a button and a click box in CP7 to open an URL on a new window. The URL opens but in a New Tab. There is an issue that the URL cannot be opened on a NEW WINDOW, I am using IE and Chrome. Do you have any ideas about this issue and how to troubleshoot it? I tried with Safari and it works fine.
    Thanks, Jorge - Adobe Captivate 7 user.

    Hi Jorge
    It's my understanding that all you can do is to configure the link to open in a new "whatever". Whether you get the link opening in a tab or a window is left up to the browser and how the particular user has their browser configured. For example, I use Firefox and when I look at its settings here is what I see.
    I'm guessing there must be a way to force a new window, because I do see new windows appear. But I think in those cases folks are doing it by using JavaScript.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Opening a url in a new window

    Guys,
    I have a situation to open a url (url is formed dynamically) in a new window on the click of a button (command button).
    I tried to use Go button, but in go button there is no way to provide the url dynamically. I mean i form the url by reading the contents of the page. But go button doesnt allow to form the URL dynamically.
    The problem with command button is, it doesnt open the URL in a new window.
    My requirement is
    i click on the button on a page -> go to method (read the contents of the page) to form the URL -> open the URL in a new window
    How this can be acheived.

    Yes, but i need a method to do my calculation to build the dynamic URL.
    I have resolved it using command button
    public void actionlistener(actionevent event)
    String dynamicUrl = // logic to build url;
    FacesContext ctx = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    ExtendedRenderKitService erks =
    Service.getService(ctx.getRenderKit(), ExtendedRenderKitService.class);
    String url = "window.open('" + dynamicUrl + "','_blank');";
    erks.addScript(FacesContext.getCurrentInstance(),url);
    this resolved my issue

  • Open a URL in the same window

    Hi,
    My objective is to open a URL when i click on a webdynpro iView in the same window.
    I created a outbound plug in the InterfaceViewController.
    And wrote this piece of code in wdDoBeforeNavigation() in Component controller.
    wdThis.wdGetExternalComponentInterfaceViewController().wdFirePlugGoToUrl(Url);
    Where "Url" is a string variable contaning the value.
    But when i run this piece of sode it gives exception
    "Exit-Plug must no be triggered with an URL when running in portal. Use portal navigation instead to navigate to another application!"
    So what should i do solve this problem

    HI,
    Procudere to create the LogoffURL
    In the Application properties add your URL name.
    LogoffURL = http:
    www.google.com
    1.      Define an exit plug in the interface view of your Web Dynpro component:
                                a.      Enter a name and check the checkbox Exit Plug.
                                b.      Enter the name Url for the parameter and select string as the type.
    This parameter is case-sensitive and must be entered exactly this way.
           2.      In your view, define the action Exit and add the event handler onActionExit().
           3.      In the view layout, define a button and bind its onAction event to the Exit action.
           4.      In your view, define the use of the interface view controller of your Web Dynpro component under Properties.
           5.      Insert the following code in this method of the implementation:
    String logoffURL = wdComponentAPI.getApplication().getApplicationInfo().findInApplicationProperties("sap.logoffURL").getValue();
    wdThis.wdGetTimeCompInterfaceViewController().wdFirePlugExit(logoffURL);
    OR Do u need to generate the URL by using the application?
    Thanks,
    Lohi.

  • Opening a URL/File in new window instead of new tab

    I think I know the answer to this, but I'd like to check anyway.  When setting an action to Open URL or File for a button/click box/hyperlink/etc, is there a setting in Captivate to open the URL/File in a new WINDOW instead of a new TAB? I know to use the "New" setting along with the Open URL or File action. I assume opening in a new window instead of a new tab by default is going to depend on the settings of whatever browser you use, but like I said, just wanted to check. Thanks!

    If you open it in javascript and specify a height/width or location it should open in a new window.
    window.open("http://www.adobe.com", "_blank", "toolbar=yes, scrollbars=yes, resizable=yes, top=500, left=500, width=400, height=400");

  • Buttons within Flash won't open links or files in blank windows in IE 7!

    I have a bunch of flash files on my website that I use as
    menus. Some of these menus have buttons call links and files to be
    opened in a blank window but this won't seem to work in Internet
    Explorer 7. Are there any fixes to this problem?

    this is not a globaly known issue but probably a problem with
    the code you are using and/or some
    kind of popup blocker installed in your browser or security
    setting you have made. If it is a code
    issue we would need to see your pasted code at least to take
    a stab at it.

  • Open new URL page in same window

    Hi all,
    I am using LinkToUrl UI element for opening a new URL
    page.
    I did it successfully by giving the URL in reference property.
    But the link is opening in new window.It should be opened
    in same window instead of new window.
    Any one can help me........

    Hi
    Use the target property of LinktoURL .
    You can specify the window name where you want to load new URL.
    Check the following Link.

  • Openning an URL in a new window when the page is submitted, from a pl/sql p

    Hi,
    What I want to do is a procedure (called by an apex process) that opens a new window browser at the URL defined in the procedure.
    I have tried with the following procedure:
    create or replace procedure reportes (par1 NUMBER, par2 NUMBER)
    BEGIN
    htp.htmlOpen;
    htp.headOpen;
    htp.title('Reporte SAF - .: SINERWARE - 2008:.');
    htp.headClose;
    htp.bodyOpen;
    htp.area('0,0,200,400', 'rect', '200.31.86.173/Orden_pedido.jsp?centro_costo='||par1||'&orden_inicial='||par2, NULL, '_blank');
    htp.bodyClose;
    htp.htmlClose;
    END;
    Thanks for any comment.

    I assume your are writting an applet. You can do this by adding a little Javascript to your HTML page. Add this to the HEAD section:
    <SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript">
    <!-- Begin
      function openURL(url) {
        window.open( url, "", "toolbar=no,location=no,directories=no,status=no,menubar=no,scrollbars=no,resizable=yes" );
      } //end openURL
    // End -->
    </SCRIPT>Execute the Javascript using showDocument():
    String url = "http://somewhere.com/" ;
    try {
      getAppletContext().showDocument((new URL("javascript:openURL(\"" + url +"\")"));
    } catch (MalformedURLException me) {
    } //end try

  • Dragging an existing tab to the desktop (or below tab bar) does not open that URL in a new window, only a new window with an empty tab. FF4 RC2 (did it with RC1 as well).

    When I drag an existing open tab from the FF4 tab bar onto my desktop, a new window opens as expected but the tab within that window does not load the URL of the tab dragged from the previous window. The tab menu item "Move to New Window" does the same thing as well.
    I have disabled Tab Mix Plus add-on but it has made no difference. Is there a setting somewhere that I am missing?

    I use Tab Mix Plus and do not have that problem.
    <br/>
    You may need to try Firefox Safe Mode to see if an add-on is causing the problem; see: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_Mode
    *<u>In Firefox 4, to enter Safe Mode, hold the Shift key while clicking on the Firefox 4 desktop icon.</u>
    *Firefox Safe Mode is a diagnostic mode that disables Extensions and some other features of Firefox. If you are using a theme, switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes '''<u>before</u>''' starting Safe Mode. When entering Safe Mode, do not check any items on the entry window, just click "Continue in Safe Mode". Test to see if the problem you are experiencing is corrected.
    * If the problem does not occur in Safe-mode then disable all of your Extensions and Plug-ins and then try to find which is causing it by enabling '''<u>one at a time</u>''' until the problem reappears. '''<u>You MUST close and restart Firefox after EACH change</u>''' via File > Restart Firefox (on Mac: Firefox > Quit). You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the Safe mode start window.

  • PDF form with buttons opens up URL with security warning window

    I have a short-lived process that renders PDF form with data merged. The data is in XML format.
    The form buttons are assigned URL values when the form is opened. When I click on them,I get a Security warning prompting me to allow/block that site. When I click on 'Allow', I get a window of download statistics of the website that in the URL.
    This would be annoying to the end user. How I do I suppress the Security warning window as well as the download statistics window before the PDF is opened ? Can this be done either at the process design, form design stage or using Java APIs ?
    Thanks,
    Jyothi

  • Why can I not open a URL in a new window

    In older versions of Firefox I could right click on a URL and then select "Open Link in new Window" and a new window would open to display the information. In newer versions, V5 or later, if I select "Open Link in New Tab" the new information will be displayed in a new tab, if I click on "Open Link in New Window" all I get is a new window with two blue bars across the top a "New Tab" and an empty window, no information is displayed.

    Try the Firefox SafeMode to see how it works there. <br />
    ''A troubleshooting mode, which disables most Add-ons.'' <br />
    ''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default Theme.)''
    * You can open the Firefox 4/5/6/7 SafeMode by holding the '''Shft''' key when you use the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    * Or use the Help menu item, click on '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' while Firefox is running. <br />
    ''Don't select anything right now, just use "Continue in SafeMode."''
    ''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the Firefox shortcut (without the Shft key) to open it again.''
    If it is good in the Firefox SafeMode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. <br />

  • How to open the url link in new window or new tab in Sharepoint

    Hello,
        Am having one custom list and one column name  contains type (Hyperlink & picture).I want to open this in a new tab on click I tried but i didn't get any solution even I follow this link also.
    https://wb2-web.sharepoint.com/blog/Lists/Posts/Post.aspx?ID=9
    and I didn't get this line of code:     <a
    onfocus="OnLink(this)" href="{$url}" >
    Any Help

    You can do it one of two ways:
    1. Insert some CSS that will change the target to "_new".
    2. Change the field that the user enters information in to a single line of text, then create a calculated column that is:
    =CONCATENATE("<a href=",[URL Field]." target=new>Click here</a>")
    Format that as a number.
