  • Issue in Weblogic Server - Server Stops abruptly

    Hi All,
    I am facing an issue with Weblogic server(8.1). One of the managed servers stops abruptly. Server run for some days. After 5 or 6 days it stops without giving any log message. Admin(mgt server) and this managed server are running in the same box(AIX Environment). Below is the only log I got. Any idea why it is happening?
    According to the BEA Message it may be due to network problem. Since both the servers are running in same box, i don't think it is network issue.
    Can anyone please help me on this? - thanks in advance

    I think you should be able to follow the same steps but whenever you come across Domain B in the instructions, just substitute the values for Domain A. Because it is the same domain you may not even have to go through some of the certificate steps. If you have questions I suggest you post them in the WLS Security forum.

  • Issue with Weblogic services in Linux OBIEE 11G

    Hello All,
    I have a OBI 11G set up on a linux OS.I am facing a issue with weblogic service.
    Whenever I am trying to start the Admin server from command line using its .sh , it is starting successfully.
    But whenever I am closing that Linux session or coming out of the Admin server log , this service is getting stopped on its own.
    OBI is working perfectly when that Linux session and Admin server log is intact, but as soon as i close either of them Admin server shut itself down.
    Please any help on this will be appreciated.
    Thanks,

    Hi Bhavnesh.
    Try this way and let me know  the outcome.

  • [URGENT] UTF-8 issue in weblogic SOAP implementation

    Guyz,
    I am finding an issue with **weblogic.xml.saaj.MessageFactoryImpl** SOAP message factory mplementation class of weblogic. When it creates SOAP from inputstream which includes portuguese characters it does not recognise those characters.
    Any idea how to solve this issue?
    Chinmoy

    Will this really be a problem? UTF-8 is a superset of US-ASCII, I believe,
              so there should be no incompatability. This is assuming that you will only
              be sending latin characters in the form, since the recieving end can only
              accept latin characters. If this is NOT true, then they need to use UTF-8.
              Otherwise, I would test it and see what happens.

  • IBM JDK 6 32bit & 64bit Reflection Invoke issue on Weblogic 10.3

    We just found a issue on Weblogic 10.3 with IBM JDK 6 32bit, which calls different method during reflection invoke with that been processed under 64bit JDK, here is my source code:
    public class ButtonTag extends InputTag {
    private boolean checkNotNull = false;
    public void setCheckNotNull(Object checkNotNull) {
    public void setCheckNotNull(boolean checkNotNull) {
    this.checkNotNull = checkNotNull;
    this.setUserSetCheckNotNull(true);
    Under 64bit, reflection invoke will call setCheckNotNull(boolean checkNotNull), however under 32bit, it will call setCheckNotNull(Object checkNotNull), actually 32bit version is doing something wrong, we are not sure it is a issue of weblogic or IBM JDK, pls refer the information below for details, Thanks

  • EclipseLink persistence provider issue with weblogic 10.3

    Hi All,
    I have been trying to deploy and run an EAR in weblogic but when I run the application I get the following warning: WARNING: Found unrecognized persistence provider "org.eclipse.persistence.jpa.PersistenceProvider" in place of OpenJPA provider. This provider's properties will not be used.
    The following is my persistence.xml:

    I have written a session customizer that reads properties from the persistence.xml and initializes stuff. But because of the warning i mentioned earlier... I am getting null for all property entries.
    I moved the eclipselink jar entry up ahead of openjpa jar entry in weblogic.server.modules_10.3.1.0.xml and refcount.xml in /modules/features directory. I am still getting the same problem.
    I read in many posts for workarounds for this issue but didnt find anything which worked for me. I would be grateful if someone could provide me a hint as to how to make it work.
    Thanks in advance,
    Prashanth.

    Prashanth,
    Hi, there should be no issue running EclipseLink on WebLogic while you see this warning. If you are getting null properties it may be the result of another issue, could you post specific exceptions and the part of your client code that is having a problem.
    1) The warning below normally appears only when running your persistence unit with an "application managed" JTA datasource as opposed to a "globally defined server scoped datasource". Even then it can be ignored as there are still parts of WebLogic that depend on OpenJPA. Even though the warning states that properties are ignored - they are not and you should see your persistence unit loaded properly.
    I encountered this issue when running an "application managed" JTA - here is an extract of the log showing the warning and the full functioning of the pu later - the persistence unit and example code can be found on the weblogic tutorial examples link below
    "[EL Finer]: 2008.10.29 13:03:55.565--ClientSession(30346337)--Thread(Thread[[ACTIVE] ExecuteThread: '20' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default (self-tuning)',5,Pooled Threads])--client released

    I raised the following minor issue with our WebLogic Server team in Oct for reference - however this warning did not affect proper functioning of EclipseLink JPA.
    https://bug.oraclecorp.com/pls/bug/webbug_edit.edit_info_top?rptno=7520161
    You may reference the following tutorial on running EclipseLink JPA on WebLogic 10.3, it details all the steps necessary to get a JTA container managed persistence unit running via a stateless session bean and a servlet client. It also details and links to application managed datasource configuration details.
    http://wiki.eclipse.org/EclipseLink/Examples/JPA/WebLogic_Web_Tutorial
    2) eclipselink.jar location in WebLogic?
    The eclipselink.jar library should stay in the modules or patch_* directory depending on whether you are running a standalone WebLogic server or as part of a Fusion Middleware JDeveloper environment.
    See the following link that details deployment options for WebLogic and EclipseLink
    http://wiki.eclipse.org/EclipseLink/Examples/JPA/WebLogic_Web_Tutorial#EclipseLink_JAR_location
    Note: I have not modified the load order of EclipseLink, OpenJPA or Kodo, I am running all including this version of OpenJPA in my modules directory. [org.apache.openjpa_1.0.0.0_1-1-1-SNAPSHOT.jar]
    3) I noticed that you are defining the target-database property in your persistence unti but you are running as JTA not RESOURCE_LOCAL. This property can be removed if your JTA datasource is defined as a Transactional server scoped datasource via the WebLogic console.
    thank you

  • JNDI lookup issue in weblogic 10 server

    Hi all,
    I have a serious problem in getting the datasource lookup. My application uses EJB3 and JPA and it is deployed in weblogic10. I configured datasource in the domain (ex:mydomain) using weblogic 10 admin console. Now when i try to call from a client program, it is giving me javax.naming.NameNotFoundException. I use eclipse IDE to deploy the application. From the IDE, i can start the oracle 10.3 server and it automatically deploys the application into the server in mydomain. The admin console shows that the application deployed fine. And i can see the webcontent WAR file and EJB jar deployed. Coming back to the issue.... I verified user_projects\domains\mydomain\config\jdbc\datasource-jdbc.xml and user_projects\domains\mydomain\config\config.xml file enteries. My entries are present in those files.
    When i start the server i am getting below error...

  • Two way SSL issue in weblogic

    Hi All,
    we have enabled 2 way SSL in weblogic, we have one Admin Server and one managed (soa) server version 11.1.1.5
    steps we have followed:
    we have imported identity certificate and key file to a custom identity store
    improted trust certificates to a custom trust keystore
    in weblogic consile: soa_server1-> keystires : we have updated custom identity and trust details
    in weblogic consile: soa_server1-> ssl - we have updated required custom identity details and selected " Client Certs Requested And Enforced" for Two Way Client Cert Behavior.
    but while testing our process we are getting below error:
    we have tried openssl to test the connectivity but not sure about the output, is there any way to trace the SSL connection?
    any input will be really helpful.

  • Heap Memory Issue in weblogic 9.2 for a JSF 1.1 web application

    Hi,
    We are running a JSF application (Myfaces, facelets, tomahawk, richfaces & iBATIS) in weblogic 9.2 server on Solaris 10. This application is deployed in production and works fine under normal circumstances. But when there is a heavy user load we are facing a memory issue. The memory usage is gradually increasing and when it reaches to max, Full GC kicks in again & again which choks up all requests. We don't save anything in session scope. All our backing beans are saved in request scope hence they should be garbage collected after each request done, but this is not happening.
    We took the heap dump from production after this issue and analyzed it. After my analysis, I found all objects which are set in request object not being garbage collected and the root referers of all these objects is weblogic.servlet.internal.MuxableSocketHTTP.
    I reproduced the similar behaviour in one of our development environment using JMeter. I ran 100 concurrent users in JMeter for almost 1 hour and saw the similar behaviour. Below is the result of all weblogic objects which are still hanging in heap after test was over (I also ran manual Garbage Collector from admin server).
    1) weblogic.servlet.internal.MuxableSocketHTTP - 1774 objects - retained heap (1 GB)
    2) weblogic.servlet.internal.ServletRequestImpl - 1774 objects - retained heap (1 GB)
    My understanding is that every request made to weblogic server goes through the MuxableSocketHTTP object which creates the ServletRequestImpl to serve it. Once the request is served these objects are suppose to be removed. As a result of that whatever is saved in your request will still be hanging.
    I am not able to understand why these objects are hanging after request is done. Could anybody answer to my question. I appreciate your help in advance.
    The GC setting for weblogic server while startup is:
    -XX:MaxTenuringThreshold=15 -XX:+PrintTenuringDistribution -XX:+AggressiveHeap -XX:+PrintGCDetails -XX:+PrintGCTimeStamps -XX:PermSize=128m -XX:MaxPermSize=128m -Xms3g -Xmx3g -XX:NewSize=512m -XX:MaxNewSize=1024m
    Thanks MaKK

    What happened with this issue? We are seeing something similar on WebLogic 9.2 MP1 in Solaris (Jdk 1.5. patch 10. 32 bit). Out of Memory's with thousands if instances of weblogic.socket.MuxableSocket hanging around.
    Our thinking was initally the Java heap, then we thought that maybe the sockets weren't being closed properly, possible in WebLogic or in LiveCycle.
    Any info would be greatly appreciated.

    I'm sure it has nothing to do with WebLogic. It's a matter of your code, the JDBC driver, and your database.

  • Connection Reset issue in Weblogic 8.1

    Hi,
    We have an application running on weblogic 8.1. Please let men explain the steps that we carried out:
    1. A new user was being enrolled through the applciation.
    2. To make the connection object the value of the properties DriverClass, ConnectionURL, UserId and Password was obtained from the config.xml.
    3. preparedStatement.executeUpdate() inserted data in the database.
    This works fine initially but when i leave the system idle for an hour or so and then try to access the application we get an error:

    For those interested, I have some updates on this subject and someone out there sent me a mail asking if I ever found anything out.
    Basically, when I encountered this issue the first time, I was working on a SP2 Portal. We were having numerous small bugs like this one with SP2 that centered around the back button or refresh button. BEA gave us a "super patch" back in July or so that when applied to our SP2 project, fixed our issue. I have sense moved onto SP3, and I did not see the compression issue (so I think SP3 must have the patches correctly setup...like I would assume it would).

  • Jython having issue importing weblogic modules for changing passwords

    I am trying to import some WLST modules into a Jython script as outline in the documentation at http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs92/config_scripting/config_WLS.html#wp1019971
    The strange thing is that it says it is a WLST script, but it appears to be a Jython script. I tried performing this import using WLST interactive mode, but this did not work.
    I am passing the passwords as encrypted strings while using the encrypt() function
    Here is the script:
    import sys
    from weblogic.management.security.authentication import UserPasswordEditorMBean
    #To be invoked by java -cp /usr/local/bea/wlserver_10.0/common/lib/jython.jar org.python.util.jython
    #usage: wlst.sh ResetWLPassword.py <current_pass> <user> <new_pass> <adminServerURL>
    #{3DES}/asdfadsf== -
    #{3DES}asdfafdsadsf== -
    myPass = sys.argv[1]
    myUser = sys.argv[2]
    newPass = sys.argv[3]
    adminServerURL = sys.argv[4]
    #Connect
    try:
    connect('weblogic',myPass,adminServerURL)
    except:
    print "Could not connect using supplied credentials"
    dumpStack()
    try:
    print "Changing password ..."
    atnr=cmo.getSecurityConfiguration().getDefaultRealm().lookupAuthenticationProvider("DefaultAuthenticator")
    atnr.changeUserPassword(myUser,myuser,newPass)
    print "Changed password successfully"
    except:
    print "Password change failed"
    dumpStack()
    I am receiving the following error message:
    java -cp /usr/local/bea/wlserver_10.0/common/lib/jython.jar org.python.util.jython /tmp/ResetWLPassword.py "{3DES}/adsfadsfadsf==" weblogic "{3DES}asdfadsfasd== " t3://localhost:7003

    You are calling org.python.util.jython again instead of weblogic.WLST like I advised in my first post. Invoke WLST (not jython) and pass your values in cleartext. Like I said in my previous post, I was able to execute your script without issue when calling WLST and passing cleartext values (I did have to modify one line to due a bug in your script -- see my prior posts).This seems to work in terms of getting the code to run, but there is still a problem with passing the arguments to the changeUserPassword() method.
    I entered the sequence of commands in the script manually into WLST and it works without issue. It even works without the import, which is strange that Oracle includes it in their documentation.
    I am going to post the code here, perhaps there is something wrong syntax-wise with the way I am authenticating, but I can't put my finger on it.

    This occurs when we invoke a JSP (that passes thru the OWASP filter) that in turn calls a servlet through <jsp:forward> tag.
    The same setup works correctly on JBoss 4.2. Is this issue related to the Servlet spec supported by 10.3? Is there a way to change (downgrade) the servlet spec in 10.3 for a particlular webapp alone?
    Thanks,
    Shankar.

    Hi. The issue is complicated. First, it seems that you are using a DataSource that has not been
    deployed to the cluster, so you are doing JDBC from one WLS server to another before going
    to the DBMS. That is slow and problematic. You should deploy the DataSource to the cluster
    so every WLS instance has it locally.
    The second problem is about your code's cast to an oracle.jdbc.OracleConnection... Are you
    sure that code worked in WLS 10.0?

  • JDBC Connection Issue in Weblogic 10.3

    Hi,
    We have upgrade from Weblogic 10.0 to Weblogic 10.3.
    We are having the ojdbc6.jar in the server classpath, the JDK being the 1.6. The DB is Oracle 10g.
    In an cluster environment, we are getting this error, while passing the connection to an Array Descriptor.

  • Resource Allocation Issue in Weblogic messaging bridges

    Hi,
    We are using
    Weblogic version à WebLogic Server 8.1 SP5 Mon Sep 19 23:06:54 PDT 2005 641358 WebLogic XMLX Module 8.1 SP5 Mon Sep 19 23:06:54 PDT 2005 641358 WebLogic Temporary Patch for CR250915 04/18/2006 22:21:33
    Java JDK version à 1.4.2_11
    Oracle version à 9.2.08
    Solaris version à Solaris 5.8
    The weblogic application is deployed on Unix Solaris.
    We have configured 8 message bridges within weblogic between the 8 Topics in weblogic (source JMS destination) and 8 topics in the External EMS server (Target JMS destination) .
    The properties set for the message bridges are
    1] AsyncEnabled ="true"
    2] DurabilityEnabled ="true"
    3] QualityOfService="Exactly-once"TransactionTimeout="10"
    4] TransactionTimeout="10"
    The source and target JMS destinations are bridge using the resource adapter of jms-xa-adp (connector module)
    The properties for the Source JMS Destination are
    1] ConnectionFactory = weblogic.jms.client.JMSXAConnectionFactory
    The properties for the Target JMS Destination are
    1] InitialContextFactory = com.tibco.tibjms.naming.TibjmsInitialContextFactory
    2] ConnectionFactory = XATopicConnectionFactory
    The EMS client version library is EMS version client library à 4.2.0
    The message Bridge Thread Pool Size is à 12
    When the weblogic is started, all the bridges comes up properly and are forwarding message to the target, however after some time (1 to 2 days) we observe some that some of the bridges are going down and we get see following error in the weblogic logs
    ####<May 26, 2010 12:00:56 AM GMT> <Warning> <Connector> <ngun015> <zlw1rdbs12-a> <ExecuteThread: '6' for queue: 'MessagingBridge'> <<WLS Kernel>> <> <BEA-190032> << Weblogic Messaging Bridge Adapter (XA)_eis/jms/WLSConnectionFactoryJNDIXA > ResourceAllocationException of javax.resource.ResourceException: Failed to start the connection on createManagedConnection.>

(javax.resource.ResourceException: Failed to start the connection)>
    Can you please help us resolve the above issue?
    Thanks,
    Mohanraj

    There seems to be couple of known issues with WLS 8.1 and Tibco EMS.. Check with support whether your issue is related to any of the below:
    Message bridge will stop responding and WLS has to be restarted to overcome this.
    There is a known bug on WLS 8.1. Bug 8062571 is for the issue.
    Should the connection be interrupted by a problem on the Tibco side, the messaging bridge never tries to reconnect. the problem can be that Tibco EMS is restarted for some reason or that the maximum number of messages that Tibco EMS can handle is reached.
    Unpublished bug8066979 is available for WebLogic Server 8.1 SP6 and later
    Unpublished bug8172940 is available for WebLogic Server 9.2 MP2 and later
    Note you can get more info about bridge problems by following the below steps:
    To debug the bridge you can enable debugging for the messaging bridge using either of the followings methods:
    * Add the following lines to your WebLogic start script (before the weblogic.Server line):
    -Dweblogic.debug.DebugMessagingBridgeStartup=true
    -Dweblogic.debug.DebugMessagingBridgeRuntime=true
    * Add the following statements to the ServerDebug entry in your configuration file (config.xml) for the server that the messaging bridge is running on:
    DebugMessagingBridgeStartup="true"
    DebugMessagingBridgeRuntime="true"
    Once debugging is enabled for the messaging bridge, the debugging messages are sent to the server log by default. However, if you want them to appear in the Administration Console, add “DumpToConsole” to the statements show above. For example:
    -Dweblogic.debug.DebugMessagingBridgeStartupDumpToConsole=true
