Openning of outlook email client when clicked.

Hi,
Iam using swing application. I have a requirement, when users clicks on button i need to open a default client email.(i.e eg outlook new email dialog). I also need to attach files to that emai.
Similar thing can be done in web based application using mailto: functionality.
I have tried with the following code.
String email = "cmd.exe /c start \"title\" \"mailto:[email protected]?Subject=what ever msg&cc=[email protected]&Body=what ever msg body&Attach=\"C:\\temp\\report_path.txt\"\" ";
Runtime runTime = Runtime.getRuntime( );
Process subProcess = runTime.exec( email );
subProcess.waitFor( );
int processValue = subProcess.exitValue( );
This works but the attachments are not working.
Can any body give me some details or good solution for this?
This is very urgent please
Regards
Kalyan.

Hi,
Generally, we can export the mailbox data to an Outlook for Mac Date file(.olm file) in Outlook 2011 for Mac. As for Outlook for Windows, the default Outlook Data file is .PST file. If so, we need to find some third-party tools to convert OLM file to PST
file for Windows Outlook using.
Personal suggestion, we can consider to create a new imap account acted as a transfer mailbox. To do it, please follow:
1. Create a new IMAP account, such as a Hotmail.com account.
2. Configure the Hotmail account in your Outlook 2011 for Mac and import the exported OLM file to this account.
3. The imported data file will synced to IMAP account in mail server. We can login to the Web mail page to double check it.
4. If the data has been synced complete in Hotmail mail server, we can configure this Hotmail account in your Outlook for Windows. Then all mailbox data can be download to the local Outlook in Windows machine.
5. Now, we can drag the messages from this Hotmail account to your main account. Or we can export Hotmail mailbox to PST file for other Windows Outlook using.
Additionally, here is a similar thread about your issue:
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/03082e4b-70de-4faa-a02c-77eb52d8781c/convert-olm-to-pst
Hope it helps.

  • How do I change email client when clicking mailto links?

    I have reformatted my computer about 1 month ago. Everything almost as I had it before. Just 1 thing that is bugging me.
    '''My email client is IncrediMail'''. When clicking mailto links in Internet Explorer, my IncrediMail opens as it should do, but in Firefox (which is my preferred default web browser) it opens another tab, wanting me to sign in to GMail to compose my mail.
    I do have GMail accounts, '''BUT''' I want Firefox to open up my IncrediMail to compose my emails, just like it did before my reformat.
    Any ideas would be gratefully received ;)

    To make Firefox use Incredimail for mailto links, do the following.
    1. find the path to Incredimail on my Windows 7 machine it's:
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\IncrediMail\Bin\IncMail.exe" (you can find this by right clicking on the desktop Incredimail Icon and selecting Properties. Copy this address))
    2. Type about:config into your Firefox location bar and hit enter. If you've never edited used about:config before, you'll see a warning.
    3. Click "I'll be careful, I promise!" This will bring you to the about:config window.
    4. In the filter field type "gecko". Find the entry gecko.handlerService.schemes.mailto.0.name;
    5. Right click and select Modify.
    6. Paste or type the Incredimail path in the field provided "C:\Program Files (x86)\IncrediMail\Bin\IncMail.exe" (the qoutes are required)
    7. Make sure that network.protocol-handler.external.mailto; is set to true.
    That worked for me after many hours of searching and finding answers posted by individuals who wanted to help but didn't have a clue.

  • Can't open folders or emails by double clicking mouse

    I can't open folders or emails by double clicking my mouse. I was using a corded Apple mouse, so I switched to a Logitech cordless optical mouse, still can't open them. I can open my folder with command O, but not email. Any suggestions?

    This worked for me: I trashed my mouse prefs, then restarted, then -- goto System Prefs --> Keyboard/Mouse --> Mouse --> Double-Click Speed: Now move the speed a minimum of one notch below FAST.
    Yesterday I installed a Logitech MX Revolution, cordless mouse and lost the ability to double click with it and with my Mighty Mouse. Resetting the double click speed below FAST miraculously reset.
    All seems OK now.

  • Firefox will not open my email client when I click on a "mailto" link on any website. How can I fix this.

    Anytime I drag my cursor across, or try to click on a "mailto" email link on any webpage, it will display an incorrect e-mail address (it seems to default to one in particular). It will not open a new e-mail window and if I "copy e-mail address" it's the wrong one. I've tried everything and was hoping with new updates the problem would solve itself but obviously it hasn't.
    HELP ! This is driving me CRAZY

    For the settings to check to ensure that Firefox opens your email client, see [[changing the e-mail program used by Firefox]]. I don't know why it shows the wrong email address.

  • Outlook 2007 hangs when clicking the To button in a new email

    Hello,
    I have a person whose Outlook 2007 hangs whenever they create a new email and click the To button to bring up the GAL.  By hangs, I mean it becomes unresponsive and you have to End Task the new email, which causes Outlook itself to crash.  I've tried the following:
    Repairing Office
    Uninstalling/Reinstalling Office
    Creating a new profile
    The only thing that fixes it is running Outlook.exe /safe, but that's not an acceptable long term solution.  I have tried disabling all add-ons and running Outlook normally, but it still hangs.
    If anyone has any ideas or can help in any way, I would really appreciate it.

    Step 1: Disable the addins in Outlook 2007:
    On the Tools menu, click Trust Center, and then click Add-ins.
    In the Add-ins box, identify the add-in that you want to enable or disable and note the Add-in type located in the Type column.
    Select the Add-in type in the Manage box and then click Go.
    Select or clear the check box for the Add-in that you want enable or disable and then click OK.
    Step 2: If you have bigger PST/OST files then it may take a while to load - during the time, it may become unresponsive. Just for testing, remove the PST file and reopen the
    Step 3: Also you can try opening the Outlook in Online mode (if you currently use Outlook in Cached mode)
    Step 4: Make sure Outlook 2007 is updated with Service Pack 2 - its known for performance improvements. FYI: you can refer the following blogpost: http://blogs.msdn.com/deva/archive/2009/04/28/download-microsoft-office-suite-service-pack-2.aspx
    Step 5: You can control the running add-ins - which needs to run: By default, Outlook allows any installed add-in to run. You can restrict Outlook to run only those add-ins that are digitally signed by applying the Warnings for signed macros; all unsigned macros are disabled setting to add-ins, as follows:
    On the Tools menu, click Trust Center.
    In the left pane, click Macro Security.
    Click Warnings for signed macros; all unsigned macros are disabled.
    In the left pane, click Add-ins.
    Select the Apply macro security settings to installed add-ins check box.
    You can try the above steps and let me know whether this resolves the issue or not?

  • Get items from ews and open in Outlook desktop client

    Hi,
    I have a webapplication with a screen that shows the last unread items from ews in the browser. When a user clicks the item I open the mail in owa.
    Is it possible to retrieve mail items with the ews service and the open Outlook desktop client from the browser and open a message that I received?
    Regards
    Danny

    You have to use the HexEntryId not the EWSId eg you can get it by either using convertId and asking for the HexEntryId format or just use the PR_EntryId extended property eg
    ItemView ivItemView = new ItemView(1);
    PropertySet itemPropset = new PropertySet(BasePropertySet.FirstClassProperties);
    ExtendedPropertyDefinition PR_EntryId = new ExtendedPropertyDefinition(0x0FFF, MapiPropertyType.Binary);
    itemPropset.Add(ContactSchema.StoreEntryId);
    itemPropset.Add(PR_EntryId);
    ivItemView.PropertySet = itemPropset;
    FolderId fid = new FolderId(WellKnownFolderName.Contacts, new Mailbox("[email protected]"));
    FindItemsResults<Item> fiResults = service.FindItems(fid, ivItemView);
    if (fiResults.Items.Count == 1)
    if (fiResults.Items[0] is Contact) {
    Contact cntContact = (Contact)fiResults.Items[0];
    Byte[] EntryVal = null;
    String HexEntryId = "";
    if(cntContact.TryGetProperty(PR_EntryId,out EntryVal)){
    HexEntryId = BitConverter.ToString(EntryVal).Replace("-","");

  • Since updating to Version 5 EU1.1, Firefox does not open from Outlook email links despite having all program defaults - how can I fix this, please?

    Clicking on a weblink in an Outlook email fails to open the website in Firefox even when the browser is already open. Firefox is set as default browser. There was no problem with this before the latest Firefox update a few days ago.
    I have tried changing program defaults to Internet Explorer (email links worked) and then back again to Firefox, but email links still don't work.

  • I am using the Good for Enterprise app to synch my outlook email and when I try to turn on ICloud to synch my music in ITunes I get a warning that I will not be able to synch my Iphone 4S with my computer.  Does this mean my office PC or home Mac?

    I am using Good For Enterprise on my Iphone 4s to connect with my Office PC Outlook email system.  I am having trouble synching my Itunes music from my Mac at home with my IPhone 4s.  I am considering using ICloud to share the music as I also have an IPad2.  When I go to turn on the ICloud application, I get a message that alerts me to the fact I will no longer be able to synch with my computer.  Does that mean with my Office PC and my Outlook email, or my Mac and my home email and other applications?  I want to use the ICloud but don't want to screw up my Good for Enterprise application and connectivity with my Office PC and Outlook email.  What should I do to be able to update all my tunes and photos on my IPhone 4S and IPad2 from my Mac?

    I seem to never tire of saying this. It was for Apple when they first announced 10.7 to disclose this. Yes, it was widely reported -- or rather, rumored -- but not by Apple. And many people who have gotten caught by this assumed that Apple itself would have told them beforehand about the loss of this very important feature which they had come to rely on. As far as I know, not even in fine print, does this appear anywhere on the Lion announcement or any of its links.
    I am not saying Apple had to continue Rosetta in Lion, or forever, just that if it was going to be dropped, it should have been made known.
    As relative "insiders" we should not forget that many people don't have the time, habit or interest to do this kind of research. I think it is a breach of trust that Apple has never directly made this announcement or given people the opportunity to decide beforehand if giving up their PPC apps for a new OS is a worthwhile tradeoff.

  • How can I make a specific page open in a new window when clicked from a menu?

    Don't know if its possible but I have one specific page I want to open in a new window in the browswer when clicked on from a widget menu.  I know how to go in and put the coding in but it would be nice if there is some option in Muse to do that already.  Any suggestions? Thanks for any help.

    ryanj4799 You'll need to change the Menu Type to Manual in the widget's options and add the links yourself. Then go to the Hyperlinks panel. Check the option to open in a new tab/window.

  • With FF15 on Win7, when I click a Google Reader link (that open in a new tab when clicked, target="_blank" style), the new tab opens for a second, then closes.

    The tab will not crash if I right-click, open in new tab, or middle click. Other sites with target="_blank" seem to be ok with left click (Google+ links for example). But Google Reader links seem to be completely broken.

    Seems to be an adblock plus issue in my case. When I disable adblock it never happens. When I enable it this occurs on most links on google, twitter or reddit. Somehow seems them as pop ups I guess. Probably will have to fiddle with adblock plus.

  • Open page in new window when click on HELP TAB

    Hi
    I have a number of tabs which work on my pages. My very last Tab is a Help Tab.
    What I'm trying to achieve is that when a person clicks on the Help tab, the page should open in a new window.
    The rest of the tabs should function normally, ie just switch pages in the same window.

    Faulting module is OUTLOOK.exe so I don't know what to look for. I have done the following:
    Ran outlook in safe mode
    Ran outlook without addons
    Created a new mail profile
    Repaired Office 2013, also uninstalled and reinstalled Office 2013
    Cleared temp files
    I am not sure why this is crashing and I don't see any hints in the event viewer logs or in the error report that was created. It just says that Oulook crashed but has no indication. What can I look for in these logs to find a culprit?

    Hello,
    Did you try to create a new mail profile without exchange account?
    Besides, I recommend you use CalCheck to check Outlook Calendars for problems.
    And then you can delete corrupt calendar item or use Calendar Repair Assistant to repair the corrupt calendar item.
    Here is the blog for your reference.

  • "invite participants" opens golive as email client...????

    I'm on a Dual PowerPC G5 running leopard 10.5 2 and I see no
    preferences to set email client. I called adobe connect
    support...they started quoting $ for support packages...???
    Yikes...any ideas out there??? My default email client is
    entourage. I changed default to apple mail just to see if it would
    work and it did not. I do have my system set to open html files in
    golive (for editing) but that should not interfere with an email
    client app.
    Thanks in advance!
    Lee

    OK....i just tried setting OS to open html in firefox instead
    of golive. It works: adobe connect now open my email client. But,
    reversed it and it still does it....???? Oh well....will try it the
    other way for a while.
    Thanks for your help!!!

  • Thunderbird doesn't work as default email client when sharing pdf attachments. Works fine if Mail is the default client

    With Tbird set as the default email client, whenever I try to email the pdf, a message pops up that the default client can't handle sending the attachment. It works all the time if the native Mac Mail software is the default client..
    This forces me to save the pdf file, go to Tbird to send a message and then have to find the file in the folder structure to add as an attachment.

    My PDF software is Adobe Acrobat. So what is wrong with your Thunderbird software I must ask!

  • When I click email links on firefox, it won't open my AOL email client to continue, I get "The file may not be supported by AOL, AOL will try to open it as a text file if you choose to continue" how to fix?

    When I click email links on firefox, it opens AOL, but comes up like this.. "The file may not be supported by AOL, AOL will try to open it as a text file if you choose to continue" how to fix? and yeah, I know, ditch AOL and all that good stuff, but I have so many things tied into my email address that it's not in the cards atm..
    Thanks!

    That file might have moved to a different location on the server. I think you'll need to check with RefWorks support or your local IT department on why the install page links do not work.
