OpenScript 9.2 for EBS/Forms not paying back scripts

We had bug opened for this issue since we are using 11g forms (Bug 9828305).
Forms version 1111003
Initially OpenScript was not able to record the script for this version which was fixed.
The next step was playback which is clamied to be fixed.
I am still not able to replay any of my script. It fails intermittently at various steps in various scripts i recorded.
These are few error I am getting

I have already set parameters in debugging for "Content Legth is zero" to warning.
I want to make sure OATS works for this form version and use it for loadteitng going forward.
Let me know why this bug was closed and did QA reteste it. I have given the feedback that its not working.

Well, a zero length download is essentially a response header from the server with no content to follow. It may or may not be an error .... The question is what is the expected result of the navigation. If there should be something more than just a response header then double check your correlations and make sure things that are supposed to be dynamic actually are. If getting the response header and no document is correct behavior then you can just turn off the zero length download error by switching the configuration to warn or ignore rather than being a fatal error. You can do this in OpenScript by going to the OpenScript Preferences and modify the setting in the error recovey of the general section. You will also have to set the configuration for the setting in OLT as well - it will be in the scenario settings.

Oracle EBS forms not working after dataguard switchover.

Hi Guys,
I have followed steps in document 1070033.1 to configure a data guard for R12 E-business suite and it's working properly now. i tried to perform a switchover to test the data guard, the switchover for the database tier was successful also i was able to configure and start the apps tier with no errors but when logging into the application and trying to run any form an error message is displayed saying "unable to communicate with run time process". the result of "odopmnctl status" show that all OC4Js are running and active. no errors exist in the log files. so why are the forms not running

Oracle R12 EBS Forms not getting invoked in Windows server 2003

I have installed Oracle EBS R12 in my personal laptop with Win2003 server as base OS. Until all these days I was able to launch the forms and work on EBS without any issues.
Today when I tried to login in and open a form, the system is just not responding. It is not launching the form applet. I checked the Java options and everything remain correct. My internet explorer settings are also proper and no firewall is existing. JRE version installed is 1.6.0_07. I even tried invoking test form from Oracle Forms options, but no form was launched.
The same issue happened a month before and I ended up installing Oracle again. However, I dont want to go to that option and requesting your valuable help to get this fixed.

Finally I got the issue fixed. Did not download Java or any JRE version; because, the available version itself was Java 6 and the JRE version was 1.6.0_07.
The issue seems to be that, if the 'JRE Auto-Download' in Java control panel is set to 'Always Auto-Download' then java is trying to use the latest version available in their server. I then changed the setting to point to 'Prompt User' and tried opening a form and it worked!!!
Sounds like a solution to this issue and hope it doesn't recur. Will keep posted if I face any. Thanks for your help!
Navigation:
DO NOT TRY TO CLEANUP OR RE-INSTALL JAVA. TRY THE BELOW BEFORE YOU PERFORM SUCH THINGS.
Step1: Clear all cache and cleanup the history/temp memory in your browsers.
Step2: Close all your browsers (IE, Netscape, Chrome, Mozilla etc).
Step3: Check if your Java version is SE6 and JRE is pointing to version 1.6. You can check this in Java control panel -> General and Java tab respectively.
Step3: Control Panel --> Java (DClick) --> Go to Advanced tab --> expand "JNLP File/MIME Association" and "JRE Auto-Download" --> Select "Prompt User" in both and "Apply"
           In addition to this have the "Debugging" option enabled and "Show console" in the same tab.
Step4: Open IE and login to Oracle Apps. Click on any form. now Java will enable and you will be able to see the console messages. In a few moments(depending on your system speed), the forms should be displayed.
If this doesn't fix the issue, then copy paste the entire console message and post a question in this forum for help. Enjoy your EBS!!

EBS forms not opening in Linux client machine

Hi all,
In our network some client machines are linux (redhat 4) and when we access the EBS (11.5.10) thru browser (Mozilla firefox) , it works until clicking icon for forms.
There is no java applet opening. What should we do invoke oracle apps forms.

There is no jinit for Linux. You need to configure the Linux instance to open the 1.5.0 sun java plugin that you have installed on your Linux client machine.
The resolution is in the link provided by hsawwan:
Go to $APPL_TOP/admin, and in sid_host.xml ($CONTEXT_FILE),
replace
<sun_plugin_ver oa_var="s_sun_plugin_ver">1.4.2_04</sun_plugin_ver>
with
<sun_plugin_ver oa_var="s_sun_plugin_ver">1.5.0_13</sun_plugin_ver>
Then run autoconfig.
Or cd to $OA_HTML/bin and edit appsweb_sid_host.cfg:

This way, WIndows users still open with Jinitiator. This change has no effect for Windows users.

Numbers for ipad - forms not showing text while typing

Is anyone else having this issue: When I try to enter data into a form only the first field shows what I am typing. As soon as I go to the next field you cannot see what is being typed into the field. The field is working because I can enter data and when the next field is selected you can see the data that was entered but you cannot see it while you are entering the data. This was working fine last week now it will not work at all. Tried rebooting the iPad but still not working.

OK. So I just got off the phone with Apple Support. They have known about the issue for a couple of days and are working on a fix! Hopefully we will see an update to Numbers for iOS soon!

OATS 12.5.0.1.0 build 287 and EBS Forms

Has anyone tested EBS forms from a WIndows 7 pc with Java 7 and OPenScript 12.5 installed? Has it been successful? If yes, then I would be interested to know which Java version & settings you have used, as I am having problems getting Forms to work at all when EBS automation is enabled.

I want to have an official calculator regarding the hardware sizing for Oracle EBS 11i.
I found on OTN that such tool exist only for discoverer (http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/discoverer/files/discoverer10_1_2_0_2_sizing_calculator.xls).
Please help me where to find a similar tool for EBS itself, not only for Discoverer.

Adobe for MSS PCR forms with 46C back-end???

Hi all,
A quick question - is it possible to use Adobe document services for PCR forms when the back-end R/3 system is 4.6C? Or do we need to be on Enterprise or ERP?
From what we've seen it appears that the ISR functionality in 46C is not enabled to allow selection of an Adobe form - thus ruling this form option out for 46C PCRs, meaning we'll use JSP forms instead.
Can anyone confirm whether this is the case, and/or provide details of what they have done for PCR forms in 46C?
(we do have a WAS 6.40)

If I am reading this correctly, you just need to install WAS 6.40 with the Adobe Services on it and then cerate an RFC to the 4.6 SAP system. Is this correct?

EBS Forms functional script runs fine in OpenScript but not from OTM

I have an EBS forms functional test script which runs fine in OpenScript, but when scheduled from OTM, the web part runs fine but when it comes to forms, the script fails with the following error:
Forms Object Not Found! XPath: //forms:window[(@name='NAVIGATOR')], Type: oracle.oats.scripting.modules.formsFT.helper.test.FormWindow, Cause: No Matches <Less>
I have performed all the steps below already:
1) Stopping the OATS Agent service and changing it to manual.
2) Starting the command prompt and running the AgentManagerService command as mentioned in your forum.
3) The console displays

1.open command prompt
2.cd C:\OracleATS\agent
3.FormsAutomationEnabler.bat -enableForms true

If you can properly record standard http application but not the forms part of EBS this is probably because something's wrong with the setup/link with JRE/Jinitiator.
What is the web browser you use?
What is the JRE / JInitiator version you use to access EBS?
Can you access without recording EBS from this desktop where you face the problem?
Can you please:
1/ run the diagnose tool (OpenScript Menu -> Help -> Diagnose) and tell us the resultl
2/ make sure you navigate once to EBS without OpenScript

Custom Master Detail form not working In EBS
Hi all,
I have two custom tables -- 1) XXX_DIE_Headers
2) XXX_DIE_LINES
I developed a Master Detail form based on above tables. XXX_DIE_Headers is the Master Block (Single record) & XXX_DIE_LINES is the detail block ( Multi line block ).
Yes, I used Appstand,Template.fmb for developing this form. The Master block has three fields out of which Two are required fields and i have given initial value for them.
As i deployed it in APPS(EBS),everything about it is working fine (insert,delete,master-detail behaviour) except querying.
When i press F-11 , It pops up a message "Do you want to save changes you have made" Choice - yes,no,cancel.
I don't want this message to pop up.
The scenario is :- I open the form.( without entering ) Press F11 . The message Pops up.
Please give me suggession on how to work it around so as form directly goes to query mode ,without popping the message.

It seems that you are changing a database value in your form, do you have any changes in WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE???
what the form is trying to tell you that you have changed something, do you want to save it?
I suggest you debug your form and see what's happening step by step.

Using Forms 6i for Custom EBS Forms - Won't Run in Forms Builder

I'm using forms builder 6i to create custom form for ebs 11i. I started with template.fmb. When run the form using the client/server runtime, all of the app_standard calls generate errors. i have to put code in there that checks to see if it is running on the web or not. if i don't do that, the form won't run. why does it not understand the app_standard calls when it is running in client/server mode? is there something i need to change? how can i simulate an EBS environment locally so i don't have to put special code in there for running in client/server mode?

OpenScript Oracle EBS/Forms Functional Script Playback Login Problem

I use Openscript 9.2.1 and want to playback functional scripts that I recorded. When I push playback button, IE browser opens, EBS login screen appears. However username and password boxes are not filled automatically. After some time "find object timeout" error appears. I increased this quantity(600sec) from object timeout preference but username and password boxes are still empty. Playback process does not continue to other pages. How can I fix it?
