Opmn, oacore, oafm logfiles are in xml. How to view them
Hi,
As stated above the logfile for opmn, oacore and oafm in $LOG_HOME/ora/10.1.3/opmn/default* are in .log But when i open it using vi editor it is like xml tags????.
Appl. R12.1.1
RegardsIts kind of a messed up way but im trying to help you out. You could try to create a report using report builder with the fields mentioned in the XML document. Once you are done save the report as an .RTF (Rich Text Format) or .RDF (oracle module report). Download BI publisher from oracle. install, lauch viewer for BI, open the folder with the report and XML file( that you managed to get by FTP using something like winscp), select both files and click start processing and you will get an output without tags and clearly labelled and sorted depending on the report...SRY i cant think of a better way.
Ill send you a document via mail
Cheers,

In one of JAVA system (wtih no ABAP stack), 4 Server process (out of 2 Server Process) were down all of sudden.
When checked, the logs were showing the below error:
Option is not recommended for use in environments: -XX:+HandlePromotionFailure
Option is not recommended for use in environments: -XX:-UseNewHashFunction
[Thr 4] Mon Feb 6 11:09:13 2012
[Thr 4] JHVM_LoadJavaVM: Java VM created OK.

: [50] 11:09:13 ***ERROR (transport.c:580): JDWP exit error
We have tried to restart the Sever process via jcmon but nothing worked.
Can you please help?
with regards,
RajaHi Arjun,
The restart of Server node after the removal of the below parameters didn't work.
-XX:+HandlePromotionFailure
-XX:-UseNewHashFunction
Now, I see the Server Nodes 0 and Server Node 3 ( out of 6 Server Nodes) are only running.
Rest of the Server Nodes were waiting to restart initially but ultimately they all stopped.
Previously it was Server Node 0 and Server Node 1 which were running and rest of the nodes were down.
Kinldy suggest.

Advantage of using multiple oacore processes
Hi All,
EBS R12.1.3 , DB : 11gR2 , ( Only One Middle Tier)
Generally based on the number of active users , We increase the oacore procceses and JVM memeory . each oacore processes have its own JVM memory.
We increased number of proccess for oacore to 3.
As per my understanding Whenever a request ( OAF/JSP/ADF Pages) come , it passes to one of the oacore procesess.
If I am correct, I have few question :
> What is the used at OC4j level , which redirects the request to one of the oacore proceess.( How it is load balanced, if yes).
> If the request passes to one of the oacore procceeses , if it start consumes all the JVM , will the request passes to other JVM/oacore (if it uses any clustering at oacore level).
Please help to understand this.

Hi,
I changed number of JVMs to 2 on each tier. But when I start applications all OPMN processs ar up but cann't logon to application.
Processes in Instance: TEST_<servername>.<domainname>
------------------------------------------------+---------
ias-component | process-type | pid | status
------------------------------------------------+---------
default_group | oafm | 7711 | Alive
default_group | oafm | 7710 | Alive
default_group | forms | 7599 | Alive
default_group | forms | 7598 | Alive
default_group | oacore | 7463 | Alive
default_group | oacore | 7464 | Alive
HTTP_Server | HTTP_Server | 7397 | Alive
I found metalink note #731115.1 and just change oacore proc parameter to 1 then applications work. I've OTL module an other self service module, does any impact on OTL module? If no, please advice what is best path to adopt for this fix.
For JVM change I followed note : Guidelines to setup the JVM in Apps Ebusiness Suite 11i and R12 [ID 362851.1]
ThanksI changed number of JVMs to 2 on each tier. But when I start applications all OPMN processs ar up but cann't logon to application. What is the error?
Check Apache log files (error_log and access_log) as well as application.log file for details bout the error.

However, you still need to consider applying the patches in the same doc for a permanent fix.

Starting yesterday, Firefox will not open at all. It hangs at the "connecting stage." For hours. It will not shut down even using the task manager for applications or processes, and it locks up virtually every other application. I thought I managed to save an open Word document yesterday - it looked like a slow, but normal save during the Firefox hang, but the document was empty when I restarted my computer.
Even though my machine is not pentium 4 based, I tried starting using the Windows XP/M configuration, I downloaded and re-installed (over the top of) the existing version, I verified that no Mozilla processes were running before trying to start Mozilla, and tried creating a new profile. Absolutely no success. Every time (of the dozens) I have tried to start Firefox I have had to force a hard shut-down to get out of the application. I have now unpinned Firefox from my task bar because I keep forgetting and hitting it by reflex.
I am running version 11.0 (at least that is what I just downloaded - I am not positive what I was running yesterday). My system is Windows 7 Home Premium, Intel Core i3, 2.4 gHz, 4 GB RAM, 64 bit OS.
Next option is to restore to a previous version. If that doesn't work, I will uninstall and start over from scratch.A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Copy and paste, does the process slow down if...?
What is the optimal way to copy and paste multiple tasks?
My question is: Does the copy/paste slow down if I have multiple copy/paste processes at the same time?
Or, should I wait until each is done to continue the next task?
I have about 3 hard drives I'm trying to copy and paste to and from each other. Each transfer can range between 30-300 gigabytes
thanks for your input! You have to remember that copy and paste means that the OS must cache the data you're trying to copy, and this in turn means that it has to have enough free space to do so.
If your hard drive is almost full, OS X will have to move small files or file fragments around before it can cache chunks of the files you want to copy and paste somewhere. It has to cache them, in case you (or an exterior cause) interrupts the copying and pasting, so as not to damage the files.
Moving files is another matter, since the files don't actually change places, they're just indexed as being moved to a different folder or directory.
Bottom line is, the bigger the quantity of data you want to copy and paste, the more free space you need. -
Process/steps down payment through Automatic payment
Dear Group Members,
How to make down payment through Automatic Payment ( T code F110)
Pleas let me know the steps
Regards
shamulheqHi,
You can follow the steps provided by Venkat, but there is a limitation when you process down payment with F110.
Becuase based on down payment request, when you post a down payment document through F110, system will default a payment block A in the posted doument.
So, when you will post the actual invoice, system will pay that invoice in full, and will not net the down payment you already posted. Example:
Step1) Vendor Down Payment: $300
Step2) Vendor Invoice Posted: $1000
Now you expect SAP to pay the net credit balance of $700, but F110 will pay $1000 instead if you forgot to manually clear the invoice against the down payment. We used the following substitution rule to force the system to pay the net amount:
1)First create a set for all your company codes: T-code GS01 e.g. Set Name: Y_COMP_CODE, Field BUKRS
2) Transaction OBBH
Prerequisites:
BKPF-BUKRS IN Y_COMP_CODE AND
SYST-TCODE = 'F110' AND
BSEG-BSCHL = '29' AND BSEG-UMSKZ = 'A'
Substitute Field Pmnt Block with a blank
Thanks

LMS 3.2 processes slow down
I am currently setting up a customer's LMS 3.2 and then suddenly noticed that the processes are slowing down. It is installed in Solaris. I was about to edit the hosts file, using Xmanager, I accessed the Ciscoworks server and then I noticed that the server is almost hanging up. It takes 10 minutes for me to open up a file. What could be causing these? So far, what I have configured in LMS 3.2 are the polling parameters and thresholds in DFM, discovery settings, and the campus manager data collection settings.
What kind of Solaris server is LMS installed on?
What Solaris OS?
How much SWAP file do you have?
Post the /var/tmp/CiscoWorks_install_xxx.log logs.
Post the prtdiag and prtconf outputs as well.

Video Processing SHUTS DOWN Computer
I continue to be frustrated beyond reason by my MacBooks inability to process video files shot on a camcorder. I have uploaded my video to iMovie, iDVD and iMovieHD. EVERY time I try to share the movie or burn it to a disk the computer shuts down in the middle of the operation. Every application, every time. This is ridiculous. Can anyone help me with a fix? I've got 13 minutes of standard definition video. Hardly an amount that should present a problem.
I want to be as precise as possible. The end result of whatever malfunction occurrs in the video processing function is that the computer's power is off. There is no warning window or anything. Just off.

Opmn custom process monitoring
Hi!
I have added a custom process to opmn. The issue is, that the start script of this component starts another process, and then ends. Hence opmn is not monitoring the correct process ID. Is there a way to tell opmn what the correct PID is (the process writes out a PID file)?
Or, how can I implement a correct ping script or something else so opmn is working correctly?
Jeroen van VeldhuizenAny ideas?

Webi processing server down when executing on bw query
Hi there,
I have an OLAP universe built on a BW query, which in turn is built on DSO. It returns around 100k records. If 20 objects are included in the webi query, the webi processing server will be down, with status of "starting..." (checked in CMC).
However, if I build a universe on the active table of DSO directly, the webi query executes perfectly even with 180 objects included.
I understand the performance difference between this two approach and it's acceptable. But the behavior of webi processing server is not acceptable. Does anybody else have this issue too?
My env is BOE XI 3.1 SP2
Thanks,
ChrisHi,
you should be at least on BW 7.01 SP05. Before that there is a 1 million cell limit in the interface and 100.000 Rows x 20 items is more than 1 million
