OPMNCTL STARTALL refuse to start

Hi,
i've any problem with my application server;
Firstly i had problem with control files. An error swhowed teh control files were inconsistent but i resolved this problem but copying the correct coltrol file to the others.
Now,after starting up the database and the listener, i can't continue by starting opmn services...only 2 services turn on (HTTP_Server and OID),the others refuse until the delay goes over and an error appears.
I'll be happy for any help.
I've Linux Red Hat 5 like OS and Oracle 10G for the database
Thank you

  • Init.d script to auto-start opmnctl startall

    Hi,
My customer had created init.d script for 'opmnctl startall'.
The script given below results in error stating that 'ulimit files cannot be set'.
But, checking ulimit for root and oracle shows unlimited.
    Script:
    su - oracle -c
    "/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/http/opmn/bin/opmnctl startall" > /dev/null
Please share your ideas on how to resolve this.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Sindhiya V.

    Hi,
I kind of remember seeing the same thing once, and I solved it by making sure that the Shell Limits was correctly set for the oracle user (or the user you have installed the product as). Check out:

    any ideas ?

The above is the reason I've almost stopped using Oracle AS.
The architects who put in DCM, OPMN, OID, Metadata repository into Application Server should be shot!
I've had to re-install my servers several times when I get strange unsolvable issues like the above. (Its faster that way! Believe me!)
My suggestion is that only use OC4J.

  • How to disable webcache on opmnctl startall

    Hi
how to disable webcache on OAS 10g ? definitively.
with opmnctl startall i'd like to bypass the mount of this service.
    Regards
    Den

    Hi,
If you want to disable WebCache, you can do that from the Enterprise Manager Application Control web page. Once disabled, you can issue the opmnctl startall command without WebCache starting.
Otherwise, you will have to start each component individually, e.g. opmnctl startproc process-type=HTTP_Server, etc.

Is it possible that someone editted it and messed up the XML structure? If you have XML Spy, see if server.xml is well-formed and valid. If you have a backup or saved file of the previous version, you may want to go back to that.

  • My computer suddenly refuse to start. When I turn it on it gives the startup sound but the screen is grey and after a while a little folder icon with a question mark inside turns up. It doesn't blink. What to do? Nothing happens if I try to start up from

As I say my computer, a mac mini refuse to start. When I turn it on it gives the startup sound and the screen turns grey and stay that way for a long time. And in the end a small folder icon with a question mark inside (it doesn't blink) turns up in the middle of the screen.
I have tried to start up from the installation CD holding down the C key on the keyboard. Same result. I have tried different key combinations while starting up. No result or rather same result. Nothing. Is the computer suddenly dead?
I was about to buy a new computer but I need access to my data on this one (I write this on an iPad) but hven't yet found a way.
    Anybody have any good advice?
I thought it was a software problem, that the computer couldn't find the startup software or something and maybe it is, but I am beginning to fear that it could be a hardware problem.

You need to re install OSX. If you have the dmg file downloaded via torrentz this is how you can create a bootable external HD or Flash drive (8 GB+)

  • Installed the latest update and now Finder refuses to start/crashes

    Hey guys,
I just installed the latest 10.4.11 update or whatever, along with Quicktime, iTunes, etc., and now when I log in to any account, Finder refuses to start. If it does start, it crashes.
I've googled around and all I could find was that I should switch from one Admin account to another to stop it, but that looked outdated and didn't work anyway.
I'm on a PowerBook G4, 10.4.11. Hopefully someone can tell me how to fix this soon.

Hi, and a warm welcome to the forums!
Actually, I take double posting to mean you started the same Topic in two different placesat once!
Could be many things, we should start with this...
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc that came with your computer, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Click the disclosure triangle to the left of the hard drive icon to display the names of your hard disk volumes and partitions.
    5. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    6. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot.
The usual reason why updates fail or mess things up, is if Permissions are not fixed before & after every update, with a reboot... you may get a partial update when the installer finds it doesn't have Permissions to change one obscure little part of the OS, leaving you with a mix of OS versions.
Some people get away without Repairing Permissions for years, some for only days.
If Permissions are wrong before applying an update, you could get mixed OS versions, if Directory is the slightest messed up, who knows!
If many Permission are repaired, or any Directory errors are found, you may need to re-apply some the latest/biggest updates again, or even do an A&I if you have enough free disk space.
An Archive & Install, which gives you a new OS, but can preserve all your files, pics, music, settings, etc...

  • Firefox refuses to start up after I asked a question about aboutbrowser switch from "Google" to "Bing" I get error message "1712" and can't find a way to uninstall.

Firefox refuses to start up at all

To answer the post title FireFox save all downloads automatically in the download folder, which you can find in the Documents folder. If you want to choose where to save your downloads go to tools>options>check always ask me where to save files.
Secondly, I am assuming you have IE 8 installed as this is the only version that supports this fix that is currently not in beta. Go to control panel>internet options>advanced tab and reset the settings at the bottom. This may or may not fix the problem but it is a good first step.

  • TS1702 In pages, when I get to the end of a line, the text refuses to start again in the left, it continues on the right and goes down the page, anyone know a solution?

In pages, when I get to the end of a line, the text refuses to start again in the left, it continues on the right and goes down the page, anyone know a solution?

Does this occur in all of your Pages documents? Are you certain that you haven't formatted the type to run flush right? (Align right I mean - sorry old typographer lingo). Look at the ruler at the top and check the Align setting.
Have you tried quitting Pages completely and the restart the iPad?
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

AIR give you classes to detect an on-line or off-line status, it's in
this way for the sake of flexibility for instance what happens if you
only what to sync  data only on Saturdays at 2 am? If it were done
automatically that'll be a problem. And it isn't so complicated.
You can download the SalesBuilder from AIR examples at www.adobe.com/devnet/air
it's an application that does everything you have in mind.
I don't understand your question abou file types.
An AIR app can communicate with almost every backend served tech
    CF, .Net, PHP, RoR.
    Sincerely,
    Michael

Sorry but I don't quiet understand. I thought AIR did the updating
automatically? I didn't realise the developer had to program the
logic of how the updates take place?  Is it a case in most AIR apps
that when online the app updates the server and once every intervel
(of however long) the local SQLite DB is synced to the more updated
server DB. Then when offline the developer has to sense that the app
is offline and store a log manually of the updates without any help
from AIR itself, and then update once it comes online again?
    >
Can AIR link to anything more than a database on the server side
apart from webservices, for example .as files or any other file types?
    >
What type of server is a Flex app stored on, is it a specific Adobe
server rather than a Java or .NET server?
