Windows Server 2012R2 Fatal Error C0000034 when trying to boot
Hi.
We patched our Server 2012R2 DC today to fix against CVE-2014-6324 using Windows update. After rebooting, we are now unable to boot and receive the error stated in the title when trying to boot.
Our primary DC however had no issues applying the update and rebooted perfectly fine.
I can only seem to find articles relating to Windows 7 SP1 regarding this error code. Is there a method for recovering this with Server 2012R2?
Thanks.Hi,
I think we could check if other update installed correctly.
Did you try to remaing pending.xml file to check the result?

Migrated WSUS from 2008R2 to 2012R2 - WID errors and Win7/2008R2 machines don't connect
Recently migrated from 2008R2 WSUS to 2012R2 WSUS via a very troublesome migration (see this thread for details: http://community.spiceworks.com/topic/535378-wsus-replica-no-computers-updates-listed?page=1#entry-3541584 ). But I was finally able
to get the migration to work, db moved and set up, sync'd w/MS, etc. Yet for some reason none of my 2008R2 servers or Win7 machines connect to the new WSUS server. Also, which is puzzling, is the actual WSUS server itself doesn't connect in to
itself.
This is what I see on my PC's WindowsUpdate.log file:

I'm also seeing a bunch of MSSQL$MICROSOFT##WID errors in event viewer. They all are talking about the susdb file that
WAS initially associated with the WSUS install. That was prior to my changing over to SQL2014express to get things to work...it looks as if it never fully cleared itself out. That file is no longer in the Windows\WID folder,
yet there are still other files in there...is there a way to remove MSSQL$MICROSOFT##WID and this association with susdb file?
I think this is also the reason my SBE backup jobs are failing on my Hyper-V server...because there are backup job errors on this server referencing the SQL##WID account...
errors 18210; 3041; 1 WIDVDI; 8229 VSS; 2 vmicvss; 17204
Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
ThanksHi,
DeploymentAction='Installation' or IsPresent=1 and DeploymentAction='Uninstallation' or IsInstalled=1 and DeploymentAction='Installation'
and RebootRequired=1 or IsInstalled=0 and DeploymentAction='Uninstallation' and RebootRequired=1"
RebootRequired=1 this means the server is pending restart.
errors 18210; 3041; 1 WIDVDI; 8229 VSS; 2 vmicvss; 17204
Is VSS enabled on the drive which WID stored? Run “vssadmin list writers”, check if there is any errors under wid writer. Or you can disable WID vss writer service.
is there a way to remove MSSQL$MICROSOFT##WID and this association with susdb file?
When you removed WID feature, delete the susdb and susdb_log files and then reinstall.
In addition, the method referred in my last reply is also worth trying. And I forgot we should patch WSUS 3.2 with
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2734608
Hope this helps. -

VMM 2012R2 UR4 - Version 3.2.7768.0
Not sure when this started happening since I haven't had to update or create a new RunAs account in VMM in some time, but every time I do, either through the console or through PowerShell it throws an error about The specified directory service attribute
or value does not exist. The VMM Service account is the same as it always has been, and other than this issue everything with VMM is working fine. The full text of the error message is below.
I am hoping someone has some ideas because I don't have any more at this point.

Hi,
I'm running SCOM and VMM integration. For the most part everything is working. However I get lots of alerts generated in regards to my scvmm server.
This is a the guide I used:
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-ca/library/hh882396.aspx
SCOM + VMM 2012r2 Ur4
One of the Errors(which appears to be root issue):

If this doesn't work it's likely that your VMM server doesn't work. Check Application log to see if there are errors related to VMM service.
You can also collect traces as described
here and attach them to this thread.
Are you using a domain administrator account? (this is the default allowed after SCVMM is installed - until other users are added).
also try restarting VMM server or VMM services once.
this occur if the SQL database owner is indicated as NULL. Try adding the SQL SA account as db owner.

Still cannot install the agent on Server 2012 R2 Core
Hi
I'm using the latest build of the agent (that I could find - 2.0.8692).
This KB http://support2.microsoft.com/kb/2997692/en-us says that 2.0.8689 and above should be supported on Windows Server 2012 R2 Core.
The installation works, but when I'm about to do the postsetup (Register Server Wizard) I get an unhandeld exception and cannot continue.
The error reads:
Creating an instance of the COM Component with CLSID {DC1C5A9C-E88A-4DDE-A5A1-60F82A20AEF7} from the IClassFactory failed due to the following error: 80040111 ClassFactory cannot supply requested class (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040111 (CLASS_E_CLASSNOTAVAILABLE))I am getting the same error, Hyper-V Server 2012R2

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.
For example:
<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>
When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box. -
C# SCOM SDK agent install works fine from debug mode but disconnects when built from installer
My team is writing a C# application that installs SCOM agents on the fly. I used the code in :
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh329037.aspx
as a template. Which works fine and will consistently install agents when I run it in debug from Visual Studio. But when I build an installer (using InstallShield), calls to:
"AgentTaskResult results = adminServer.InstallAgents(agents, configuration);"
always result in a Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.Common.ServerDisconnectedException. The agent install even shows up in pending management on the SCOM server (but this sits in pending management forever and is never processed). Calling managementGroup.Reconnect();
and retrying the agent install still results in a ServerDisconnectedException. The application has no problem doing other things with the managementGroup object (from debug or running from an installer). It can create MonitorConfigurationOverrides and
gets events out of an outbound connector. So it seems like the disconnect problem is localized just to agent install requests.
I looked in the Windows Event Log and found an OpsMgr SDK Service Error:
An exception was thrown while processing InstallAgents for session ID uuid:71d39b19-f9a7-4d4a-82ee-5043480af635;id=41.

what was the resolution for this?
I would really appreciate any help regarding this.
Have you looked at creating an MST yet? that would be my first step. My second step is to call Lego and get their support to tell you how to deploy their application to an enterprise environment.

Error message when upgrading to SCOM 2012R2 CU2
Hi!
I get this message when running the SQL script "update_rollup_mom_db.sql" which is required in the CU2 upgrade. I've tried running it multiple times. The message is attached.
I've also tried stopping all SCOM services on the Management Servers and the Correlation engine, but still the error.
What does this error mean for my SCOM installation? Is there something that doesn't work now? I try to update agents, but the console doesn't show the new versikon numberHi,
I agree with Mai, this issue is SQL related, and hope the below two similar threads be helpful for you:

Error when installing ADFS on 2012R2
HI,
I am installing the first ADFS server on an existing Windows 2012R2 Domain Controller. The domain is Forest and Domain Functional level 2003.
Using this Guide:
http://www.schmarr.com/Blog/Post/12/Installing-Windows-2012-R2-Server-ADFS-Service-
Created a group managed service account like so:http://www.schmarr.com/Blog/Post/7/Group-Managed-Service-Accounts
I have a commercial certificate with the correct name, using local Wid Database om the domaincontroller
When I install the ADFS role, I get an error at the end of the installation: "Login failed. The login from an untrusted domain and cannot be used with Windows authentication"
I tried on 2 Domaincontrollers, recreated managed serviceaccount, but the error remains. I don't see any errors in the eventlog.Hi Marzzie,
ADFS does not require Active Directory functional-level modifications to operate successfully. However, if you are using Windows NT token–based applications and you want a token to be generated using Kerberos Service-for-User (S4U), the domain functional
level must be Windows 2000 native or Windows Server 2003. More details about
ADFS Requirements, please refer to:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc778681(v=ws.10).aspx
According to the error message, it seems that a user from an untrusted domain tries to log in using Windows Authentication.
First, please make sure the trust is established between the PDW and the target domain, and in the right direction:
1. Open Active Directory Domains and Trusts on the corp DC.
2. Right click on the domain name, choose Properties / Trusts
3. Confirm that there is an incoming trust with the PDW workload domain.
4. Select the trust, choose Properties and click the Validate button to validate that the trust is set up correctly.
Second, Make sure that there is a forwarder set on the PDW DNS:
Open DNS Manager on the PDW workload DC, tab Forwarders. Make sure the IP of the corp DNS is listed.
I find an article about Things to Check Before Troubleshooting AD FS 2.0, please refer to:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/adfs2-troubleshooting-things-to-check(v=ws.10).aspx
Additional, if you want to deploy AD FS for Office 365, please pay attention to below link:

the correct upgrade patch"
PLease help us.
Thanks,
BobHi Gopi,
Are you trying to add the hosts to your OEM 12c, and then choosing "Deploy Agent"?
Please check this error message about the image file..
The image file C:\oracle\core\12.1.0.2.0\jdk\bin\java.exe is valid, but is for a
machine type other than the current machine.
"Validating OMS_HOST & EM_UPLOAD_PORT failed."
If the agents are deployed earlier from another OEM12c server, please undeploy them and then try.
Thanks,
Rajiv. -
Error using Window Server Backup on 2012R2 Hyper-V to network share
Hi
I have a Windows 2012 R2 Hyper-V server. It runs a Windows 2012 R2 VM (called
server-1).
I want to backup the VM to a network location (\\network-1\server-1_backup$). To do this, I installed Windows Server Backup from the command line and configured a backup to look like this:
C:\Users\admin>wbadmin enable backup
wbadmin 1.0 - Backup command-line tool
(C) Copyright 2013 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.
The scheduled backup settings:
Bare metal recovery : Not Included
System state backup: Not Included
Volumes in backup: (null)
Components in backup: HyperV\server-1
Files excluded: (null)
Advanced settings: VSS Backup Option (FULL)
Location to store backup: \\network-1\server-1_backup$\
Times of day to run backup: 04:00
But when I run this backup manually, I get the following error:
C:\Users\admin>wbadmin start backup
wbadmin 1.0 - Backup command-line tool

Do you want to create a backup using the same configuration that you use for
scheduled backups?

The odd thing is that if I set this up from a Windows 2012 Server using the GUI to exactly the same network destination, the backup works no problem. It just doesn't work when using Server 2012 R2 Hyper-V configured through a command line.
Any help appreciated,
AndrewHi Andrew,
I tested this in my lab server 2012R2 , but there's no error .
I would suggest you to create a new share folder on other server then check if the issue persists .

According to this error , please check if the VM's resource (such as VHD file) was restored on network share .
I also searched the error "ERROR - The shared restore point operation failed with error (0x8100010c)" , but I can not find it within following article :
http://blogs.technet.com/b/filecab/archive/2009/09/16/diagnosing-failures-in-windows-server-backup-part-1-vss-spp-errors.aspx
Any further information please feel free to let us know .
