Optimize View

Hi,
i want to optimize my view, because there are a lot of data and the select of the view is very slow.
I tried to use autotrace to analyze my view, but i never find a describtion of the output from autotrace.

Not sure what to say except that sorts are expensive.. and the bigger the dats set to sort, the more expensive the sorting is.
Also, I'm missing the logic behind selecting all the rows in a table for what seems to be a query that is expected to perform fast.
If this is an end-user query, then the result is totally meaningless. There is no way an end-user can make sense of that many rows, without processing these further (using Excel, Access, or whatever). In which case it begs the question as to why that additional processing is not done in Oracle.
If this is a batch-type query, then the reasoning and logic behind wanting to hit all the rows in a table with a serial process need to be analysed. This type of thing should be done in batch using parallel processing - that is the only way the batch processing will ever scale.

  • Setting a fixed and consistent exposure level with merge to HDR Pro?

I do panoramas with sets of bracketed HDR images.  From LR I select my stack and then merge to HDR pro in CC.  CC then produces a screen with a white point preview slider or the option to tone in ACR.  Since I want to tone in LR I have tried to set the white point consistently for each HDR output in the panorama set, but I cannot get consistent exposure levels.  I then try to adjust them all the same in LR, but sometimes differences result in undesirable effects in the panorama stitched output.
How can I get a 32bit HDR from PS CC back to LR and have each stack come back in with exactly the same exposure without me trying to guess with a slider?
I task all the images for the panorama with identical settings.  Same brackets, fstop , shutter speed, ISO, etc.  I should be able to get them all processed into 32bit HDRs and looking the same without manual adjustment guesses.
    Thanks.

I'll tell you my workflow for panoramas such as this. Starting from bracketed stacks of images.
    1. I select all images, go into Develop and turn on auto-sync. Turn on "Remove Chromatic Aberration". Do not turn on "Enable Profile Corrections". Set a custom white balance to make sure all images are WB'ed the same and optimize sharpening and noise reduction. Basically you want all images to be developed exactly the same and fairly conservative at that.
    2. Export all images to 16-bit tiff in prophotoRGB or adobeRGB (depending on how colorful they are)
    3. At this point one can add a logo to the nadir shot or do it at the end using the workflow I described above.
    4. Load all images into hugin. Generate control points. Optimize positions - first just positions, then positions and view. Level the panorama in the GL preview and make sure the projection is set to equirectangular and the view to 360x180, then optimize view, barrel and positions and finally "everything without translation". During all these steps remove errant control points by going into the control point list and deleting the ones with the largest deviation, which are usually bad control points on clouds or other moving things. Also make sure the pano stays correctly leveled.
    5. Mask the tripod out of the images that have it in them using the mask tools in hugin. Mask feet and stuff out of the nadir shot.
    6. Do a photometric optimization with high dynamic range, fixed exposure.
    7. Go to stitcher, set the optimum canvas size, uncheck "exposure corrected, low dynamic range", Check A. "exposure fused from any arrangement", B. "High dynamic range->tiff", or C. "blended layers of similar exposure, without exposure correction" depending on what you want to do.
    8. Stitch
If you did A. You will get a tone mapped image that you can work up further in Lightroom or Photoshop. That image will be tone mapped respecting the wraparound on all sides so it won't have weird seams in a spherical projection. If you did B. you get a 32-bit tiff that will work great in Lightroom and as long as you don't use highlights, shadows, clarity and such will remain good. If you did C. you can load the multiple panorama layers you get into a HDR Pro in Photoshop, and load that into Lightroom.

  • View for optimization

    Hi !
I have a view with that I want to optimize...each of the select statement has lower costs. all the select are using an index.
but the view has a pretty big cost because of union statement
Do you have an idea regarding the optimization?
    thanks a lot!
    any idea would be helpful

    1. Can you repost the query with appropriate formatting. You probably want to use the [ pre] [ pre] tags (without the space) to format the query.
    2. Can you explain in words what this query is doing?

When I do a Save As with Optimize For Fast Web View checked, the saving stops and an Adobe Acrobat dialog displays:

If I uncheck Optimize For Fast Web View, the Save As seems to work.
Is there a way to have Fast Web View work with Save As?
Acrobat.exe is version 9.3.4 (or 9.3.3.177 in the properties). The Acrobat.DLL version is 9.3.4.218.

Thanks.  I did submit a report at the site.  I hope somebody reads it as this is a big problem for us.

  • How to download Woodvine Media Optimizer so I can view videos on Hoopla, offered by my public library.

I've tried to download the Woodvine Media Optimizer, which is require to view videos via Hoopla, a library service, and first I get a dialog box saying "Firefox prevented this site (tools.google.com) from asking you to install software on your computer". There is an "Allow" button. When I press that, it appears to start downloading but then I get an error message saying "The add-on could not be downloaded because of a connection problem with tools.google.com".
I was able to download the add-on (and watch a video) in IE and the documentation about the add-on says it's supported in Firefox but it's not listed in the Firefox Add-on library when I browse there.
Any ideas? I'd rather not have to switch browsers when I want to use Hoopla.
(And I just tried to do the steps outlined below (using the Troubleshooting Information "Automatically Add" and basically the same thing happened - except the source of the add-on was different. Maybe I have some setting that says I don't want to get any new add-ons?

Do you have any add-ons or security software that might possibly be blocking the download?
Do extensions install normally from the Mozilla Add-ons site? This is a handy one to have if you don't already, if you need one for testing: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/print-pages-to-pdf/

Thanks a lot, I will leave that option tagged in future.
The below is comparing print PDF source files to -again- PDF whilst leaving that option  un-tagged.
Didn't 'test' it whilst having that option tagged though.

I could not get the files OCR'ed by Acrobat (magazines). No way. Tried a couple of times.

  • Show parameter optimizer --- table or view does not exist

one of our programmer needs to have the ability to execute "show parameter optimizer". when he does he receives "table or view does not exist". when i run said command as system i do not receive said error. is the only way around this to grant him specific rights within the database? if so, what is the lowest level of rights i can grant him to allow a proper execution? can i grant rights to only said command? -a

It's a SQL*PLUS command and can't be used in PL/SQL block. You may use something like
select * from v$parameter where name like 'optimizer%'

  • Sony A6000 DRO: is it possible to view Dynamic Range Optimization EXIF data in Lightroom?

The Sony A6000 has a feature called Dynamic Range Optimization.  You can set this to DRO Auto or set manual DRO levels (1-2-3-4-5).  This setting is recorded in the Metadata (EXIF) by the camera.  The Sony IDC software can see it - but LR5 does not. (LR supports the A6000.)  I assume Sony does something non-standard here, but it there any possibility of LR showing this EXIF data?  It is very handy for sorting through the photos (especially when you use DRO bracketing where the camera creates three JPGs with different DRO settings - either 1-2-3 or 1-3-5).

    Hi Quinn.
I'm not sure if this will help, but here's a snapshot of the table I'd like to use as source for a pop-up. It's part of a Sheet called "Rolling Rota", and whilst you can see each cell is presently a pop-up, it needn't be. I'd be happy to use this range of cells to set the staff names which then feed a range of pop-ups (in defined cells) when I run a script.
Once again, any help would be appreciated.

  • Maintenance Optimizer Step 2 - Select Files cannot view

    Hi,
We're using Solman 7.0 EHP to download EHP4 for ERP 6.0. We have maintained in SMSY, system type = ERP 6.0.
From the Maintenance Optimizer step 2- Select files, we cant see both the option of "maintenance" or "enhancement package installation" as shown in the SAP guide. The only option is "Find Download Files" button. Anyone here experience this issue before ?

    Hi,
First of all, please make sure that:
    - You are a registered ramp up customer.
    - The S-user defined in AISUSER in solution manager has the
authorization to download ramp-up installation files.
Also make sure that you have installed all the notes listed in
1122966 for your Solution Manager release.
The option of installing Enhancement Packages in an ERP 6.0
system is only offered in the Solution Manager Maintenance
Optimizer if the systems assigned to the process are assigned to
the product version ERP 6.0 or ERP 2005 in the Solution Manager
system administration (transaction SMSY).   The product version
ECC 6.0 must not be used for the installation of Enhancement
Packages. The attached Note 1022072 describes step by step how to
change a product version assigned to a system.

  • Optimize forms view in Infopath 2010 for email submit in Outlook 2010

I have an infopath form I designed.  I setup an email submit rule to send only the active view of the form with no attachment.
However when I submit and check my outlook inbox the form looks very stretched in the body of the email.  Any ideas on how to modify the forms active view so it is optimized in Outlook 2010?
I only have 1 view; and multiple views are not required.

    Hi Gopikishan,
From your description, when Approver2 click Open this task in Outlook, no Approve button displayed on the form. If I misunderstood, please point it out.
I created a simple approval workflow in SharePoint Designer and assigned it to Admin and user1, choosing serial (one at a time). As I could see in the workflow setting page, there is only one form in Forms block. And I opened it in my InfoPath form, it displayed
as I clicked Open this task in Outlook.
So I’d recommend you check if there is more than one form in workflow setting page. And also check if there is any rule which will affect on whether Approval button shows or not.

  • How to wrap a view in oracle

Does any one know how to wrap a view in Oracle, I know it is not possible, yet. Are there any third party software to wrap the logic in the view.
    Thanks,
    Sanjay

Your best bet is to write a view that queries the source tables and contains any necessary business logic
    CREATE VIEW VBASE AS SELECT A.COLUMN_A FROM TABLE_1 A, TABLE_2 B, TABLE_3 C WHERE A.ID = B.ID AND B.ID = C.ID;
create a view for exposure to the user that queries the base view.
    CREATE VIEW VSECURE AS SELECT COLUMN_B FROM VBASE;
    and grant privileges to VSECURE.
    GRANT SELECT ON VSECURE TO SECURE_USER;
This will allow the user to see, query, and describe VSECURE without seeing the definition for VBASE.
The advantage of the this approach is that the query engine can still push predicates down into the base view to optimize the performance or the query where as this is limited with the pipeline function and can become a tuning headache.
    eg.

  • G770 won't boot normally or in safe mode... I suspect it has something to do with the boot optimizer

My Lenovo G770 will not boot in normal or safe mode.  I usually escape out of the boot optimizer.  Today I let it run and it went to the "starting windows" screen with a brief startup of the windows 7 animation...it freezes for a second, then a quick flash of the bsod, then to the "windows error recovery page" giving me the option of "starting windows normally" or "Launch Startup Repair (recommended)."
Starting Windows Normally eventually brings me back to the same place repeating what I just stated above paragraph.
When I launch the Startup Repair it "Cannot repair this computer automatically".
So I go to view advanced options for system recovery and support.
It brings me to 5 options:
Startup Repair (we already tried this above)
System Restore (unfortunately I didn't create any restore points)
System Image Recovery (unfortunately I haven't created an image to recover)
Windows Memory Diagnostic (no problems found-done several times)
Command Prompt (don't know what I can do here except for remove a bad/corrupted driver which may be the problem, but I don't know the driver name that is associated with the boot optimizer...can anyone tell me this?)
I've tried booting to safe mode in all of its incarnations and I can't even do that..it repeats the same things as stated above...windows 7 animation briefly starts then locks up, flash of bsod, then the windows error recovery page.
I've tried booting to last known good configuration (same thing occurs...brief startup of windows 7 animation, freeze, flash of bsod, then error recovery page.
The only thing that has given me any kind of result was "disabling system restart on system failure."  When I do this, the BSOD doesn't flash briefly..it stays. and it gives me the error message page_fault_in_nonpaged_area.
I'm at a loss as to what to do.  Not being able to boot into Safe Mode even is really frustrating.  Any advice from anyone?  can I remove the driver associated with the boot optimizer?  If so, what is the name of the driver and where (directory) is it located?

How did you resolve the issue?
I have the exactly same issue.
When I go System Image Recovery -->Select System Image-->Advanced->I can open all the drives [:Local Drive(C , LENOVO(D, Local Disk(E, Boot(X-where i think executable booting is here]. It comes with an Open prompt asking me to enter File Name with a File type: Setup Information.
I don't know which setup information and where to find it on my Drives.
    Anyone know how to fix?
I was trying to re-install Win 7 from DVD but it is not executing either.
Can I boot with USB Ubuntu and Install Win 7 from there??? but how?
    Need help?

  • Materialized view not being used in the report

I have had a materialized view (MV) for a particular report. Recently, the report definition has changed little bit, so the existing MV is not being used by the report anymore. I copied the code Discoverer's SQL Inspection and recreated the materialized view. But still it is not working. Obviously, I am missing something at the database level. Does anyone have any idea? The database is 9i and Discoverer is 9.0.2. Thank you!

The SQL that you see from the Inspect SQL option will provide you with the SQL that Discoverer sends to the database. The database then may do a query rewrite to point to an available materialized view if available. This rewrite won't be seen from the inspect sql option. You need to check at the database level to verify if a query rewrite did in fact take place.
You may want to check the section titled "Query Rewrite with Materialized Views" from Ch1 - "Introduction to the Optimizer" in the Oracle9i Database Performance Tuning Guide and Reference, Release 2 (9.2), Part Number A96533-02, available at http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B10501_01/server.920/a96533/optimops.htm#37287

  • Selecting all data from employee where foreign key = null and show it in view

Hi guys i have view like following :
    SELECT dbo.Nationality.NationalityName, dbo.Employee.DriverName, dbo.Employee.DriverID, dbo.Employee.NationalityID, dbo.Employee.ResidentNo,
    dbo.Country.CountryName, dbo.Employee.CountryID, dbo.Branch.BranchName, dbo.Employee.BranchID, dbo.Employee.JoinDate,
    dbo.Employee.ResignDate, dbo.Employee.HealthCarNo, dbo.Employee.JobID, dbo.Jobs.JobName, dbo.Department.DepartmentName,
    dbo.Jobs.DepartmentID, dbo.Employee.PlaceIssue, dbo.Employee.Deduction, dbo.Employee.ExpireDateMedical, dbo.Employee.PolicyNumber,
    dbo.Employee.Owner, dbo.Employee.Version, dbo.Employee.ExpireDateResident, dbo.Employee.Salary, dbo.Employee.SexID, dbo.Sex.SexType,
    dbo.Sex.FlagSex, dbo.Employee.MiritialID, dbo.Miritial.MiritualStatus, dbo.Status.StatusType, dbo.Employee.StatusID, dbo.Employee.UnactiveReason,
    dbo.Employee.BirthDate, dbo.Employee.DateToday, dbo.Employee.UserID, dbo.Employee.PassportNo, dbo.Employee.Period,
    dbo.Employee.AccountNo, dbo.Employee.Bonus, dbo.Employee.AccountType, dbo.Employee.PlaceOfBirth, dbo.Employee.EmplyeeName,
    dbo.Employee.ExpireDateresidentHijri, dbo.Employee.PassportDateStart, dbo.Employee.PassportDateExpire, dbo.Religon.ReligonName,
    dbo.Employee.ReligonID
    FROM dbo.Nationality INNER JOIN
    dbo.Employee ON dbo.Nationality.NationalityID = dbo.Employee.NationalityID INNER JOIN
    dbo.Country ON dbo.Employee.CountryID = dbo.Country.CountryID INNER JOIN
    dbo.Branch ON dbo.Employee.BranchID = dbo.Branch.BranchID INNER JOIN
    dbo.Jobs ON dbo.Employee.JobID = dbo.Jobs.JobID INNER JOIN
    dbo.Department ON dbo.Jobs.DepartmentID = dbo.Department.DepartmentID INNER JOIN
    dbo.Sex ON dbo.Employee.SexID = dbo.Sex.SexID INNER JOIN
    dbo.Miritial ON dbo.Employee.MiritialID = dbo.Miritial.MiritialID INNER JOIN
    dbo.Status ON dbo.Employee.StatusID = dbo.Status.StatusID INNER JOIN
    dbo.Religon ON dbo.Employee.ReligonID = dbo.Religon.ReligonID
suppose i need to show all data from Employee table (NationalityName,BranchName,JobName) where
    NationalityID =NULL OR BranchID=NULL OR JobID=NULL
    WHAT I DO
Notes : I mean in topic(selecting all data from view not table
meaning i need to show all data in employee table by view
in case of forign key(any forign key)equal null

I think you need to change
    FROM dbo.Nationality INNER JOIN
    dbo.Employee ON dbo.Nationality.NationalityID = dbo.Employee.NationalityID
    to
    FROM dbo.Nationality
    LEFT JOIN
    dbo.Employee ON dbo.Nationality.NationalityID = dbo.Employee.NationalityID
