Reasons to Upgrade to Cap 4

Ok, I want my boss to fork out for the upgrade to Cap 4.
I've started to put together all the improvements to try and
justify why I need the upgrade.
My main ones so far are the Reviewing functionality, Backups,
File Size Issue resolved (I think) and the improvements made to
text editing. Oh, and adding graphics.
Hoping some of you experts may have a few more for me.
Haven't had time to play with the demo much.
Cheers,
K

Hi there,
Here is a complete list of what Adobe considers to be the top
features in Adobe Captivate 4.
SWF commenting Accelerate content creation cycles with
real-time reviews in Adobe Captivate Reviewer, an Adobe AIR™
application. Reviewers can add comments to your SWF files while
playing them without having Adobe Captivate installed, and comments
will be imported to the appropriate slides in your project.
Project templates Use enhanced project templates that make it
easy for subject-matter experts to contribute instructionally sound
content without compromising structure.
Customizable widgets Create more compelling learning
experiences by including widgets such as games, question types, and
more. Create widgets in Adobe Flash® Professional software,
easily share them via Adobe Exchange®, and customize them to
meet your content needs.
Round-trip PowerPoint workflow Leverage existing
Microsoft® PowerPoint® 2007 (PPTX format) slides in your
projects. Import slides with audio and interactivity, and easily
update the imported content from Adobe Captivate, keeping your
PowerPoint and Adobe Captivate files in sync with the linked import
option.
Table of Contents and Aggregator Enable learners to easily
navigate through content and track their progress with a multilevel
Table of Contents. Also, use the Aggregator to combine multiple
content modules to create a complete e-Learning course.
Text-to-speech functionality Keep learners tuned in to your
content thanks to automatic voice-over functionality that turns
text to high-quality speech.
Variables and Advanced Actions Use Variables to personalize
the learning experience by using learner-provided data, such as the
learner’s name, throughout a scenario. Use Advanced Actions
to further configure and modify the experience by enabling
conditional actions, or more than one action in an interaction.
Expanded output options Embed Adobe Captivate movies in Adobe
PDF files to enliven text-based instructional content, or embed
your movies in Adobe® Flex® content using Adobe®
ActionScript® 3.0 publishing. Output AVI files for streaming
on the web or publishing to YouTube™.
Adobe Photoshop layer support Preserve layers in imported
Adobe® Photoshop® (PSD) files so you can easily edit or
animate individual image areas for the effect you want.
Streamlined workflows and enhanced usability Use workflow and
usability enhancements, including inline editing of text captions,
templates to standardize the look and feel of projects, panning to
optimize viewing on small screens and devices, support for
right-clicking in simulations, drawing tools and image editing, and
improved accessibility features.

  • What is the main reason to upgrade from CS5.5

I havve CS5.5..... I know there is a new upgrade.  What are the main, reasons to upgrade???  What is thee most biggest deal.  Or should I wait?
    Thx.

Here's a link to my top ten features in CS6. Only you can judge if it's worth it to upgrade, wait or move to Creative Cloud: http://theindesignguy.com/cs6-thoughts.shtml
You'll find links to Creative Cloud information on that page as well.

  • All I want is to download a PDF of a marketing piece I picked up at the Adobe Event in Austin, Tx Friday. I want to be able to email it to my Enterprise wide IT department - we are still fighting to get CC at work. The piece is "Top 5 reasons to upgrade..

I am looking on Adobe's site trying to find a PDF of a printed piece I picked up at an Adobe Event in Austin Tx so I can share it with my enterprise IT department in my quest to convince them to allow CC at my company. The piece is titled "Top 5 reasons to upgrade to Creative Cloud for enterprise and Myths about CC for enterprise" Has anyone seen this piece online?
    Thank You

Having not received a call back yesterday as promised - again! - I phoned BT - again - today. Apparently we're getting a call from them on Wednesday. The seventh promise of that kind now. I told the BT chap I was sorry, but given our previous experiences, I couldn't trust what he said. He promised there would be a call. Just to make sure, I confirmed our contact details with him and, yes, you guessed it - they were incorrect! So we wouldn't have received the promised phone call. In the face of breathtaking incompetence, my partner and I are keeping our spirits up by betting on the next thing BT will screw up.

  • Are there good reasons to upgrade to FCE version 4?

Hi, I am currently using FCE 3.5.1 I'm thinking that it just might be time to upgrade. Are there some really good reasons to upgrade to Version 4? Does 4 come bundled with LiveType 2.1, or does it at least have animated type options? Most importantly, in the audio realm, does it actually allow you to hear audio filers (such as an equalizer) in real time as you tweak them? If not, do you know if Final Cut Pro has substantially better audio features than FCE?
    I appreciate your input. Bob

"Can you do that on 3.5?"
Yes. What format is the media you're using? There is no way you should have to render an EQ on a MacPro unless you have a lot of tracks. In which case, push up the number of realtime tracks in user preferences. Normal drives should be able to handle 24 tracks in realtime. The tracks count adds in effects as well as a track each.
What kind of animated text do you want? Title 3D and Title Crawl can be animated.
Apple has never sold a pro app upgrade via download. Only updates are available via download. It has never sold recent versions of FCE separately from LiveType, or LiveType separately from Final Cut. It has always been a bundled application and has never been available as a download. Do you have a torrent copy of the application?

  • Reasons to upgrade cisco ASA

      HI
I have two Cisco ASA 5540, these ASA running ver 7.2. and used mainly as VPN gateways.
My question is simple, Apart from the extra AnyConnect client functionality and the higher encryption, is there any specific security benefits (related to the VPN use) for upgrading to ver. 8.x ?
    Thanks
    A.

    Ammar,
Each version has Release Notes. For the ASA they are all posted here.
In each Release Note there is a "Resolved Caveats" sections. That is where the fixes for all problems - vulnerabilities as well as functions/features - are listed.
Besides higher encryption and Anyconnect client, you can also use IKE v2 (as of 8.4(1) ) which is more secure during session setup (apart from the level of encryption). You can also use identity-based features and a host of other features to further secure your remote access VPNs. On the other hand, if what you have now is meeting your needs, the only compelling reasons to upgrade are vulnerability and bug fixes (and perhaps a prettier version of ASDM that will run with the newest Java versions ).

  • Reasons to upgrade to '08

Could someone please list any good reasons for upgrading from iPhoto '06 to '08.

Non Destructive Editing is the clincher for me. However, if you're still on 10.2, you'll need to check this out
    http://www.apple.com/ilife/systemrequirements.html
    Minimum requirement is 10.4.9

I just got my shipment and My Ipad mini is just shut down without any reason during upgrading. I'm doing restore it. Does it matter for the future use?
ACtually I really really don't want to use it anymore. I'm so disappointed.

Some friends have told me that their phone can last up to 2 days without charging??
If they are getting 2 days without charging, it's unlikely they use their device very much.
A full day is pretty good....and if I'm careful, I can easily get a full day of usage.
For me, normal is charging the iPhone mid afternoon at work, but I use it a lot.
My typical usage is 35 mins of listening to podcasts, checking email, checking my RSS feed, and checking a few apps while I ride my bike when I first get up.  Then listening to several podcasts at work.
I typically stream music while working out during my lunch hour and use the Men's Health Fitness app to track my progress.
By about 2pm I'm ready to charge the device as it's getting low (somewhere between 20% and 50%).
I leave bluetooth, Wi-FI, and location services turned on all the time.
Personally, I just do not see the point in going into settings to turn on the feature when I need it... just too much hassle.  All of my listening to podcasts and music is via Bluetooth.
I know I'm not the heaviest user, but I just do not see how anyone can realistically make it two days on a single charge, it makes me think they simply do not use the features of the device and would be just as well served with a basic or feature phone.

  • Flash files not working in Cap 5.5 upgraded from Cap 3 or 4 and Flash 8

We just upgraded some projects from Captivate 3 and Captivate 4 to Captivate 5.5 and now some of the .swf files we have on certain slides do not play. They play in Flash itself and they play in Captivate when I use F3 for that slide, but when I create a .exe or do a Preview, they don't play. (and I have these on my local drive) I re-imported one and it worked but an older one I re-imported still doesn't work. Is it because it might have been created in an older version of Flash? I tried setting the Flash version in Captivate to 9 and 10 and nothing seemed to fix it. I think I have Flash 11 loaded. Should I unload it and go back to Flash 9 or 10? Or do we have to recreate those files in Flash 9, 10, or 11? it seems like I had this problem a long time ago in Cap 3 and we had to set everything to Flash 8.

oK, I think you are right... some of the files work and some do not... UGH and when I reimported, they said they were AS2... so far I'm not a fan of 5.5 but I'm sure it will grow on me... just don't like that things don't convert and I can't find some of the easiest things... they hid the X and Y coordinates when they used to be at the top of the screen... now they are under Transform? ok, I'll stop griping... for now...

  • Iphone 4s constantly asks me for my Apple ID Password for no reason since upgrading to ios6

Since upgrading my iphone 4s to ios6 the phone constantly asks me for my Apple ID Password for  no reason. I've gone into the Settings page and entered my password multiple time and this has not solved the problem.

Since switching from iPhone 4 to 5 I am having the same problem.  I thought it only happened when I launched the app Line by Naver, but it's happening at other times now too. I have
    1. reset my iPhone at least 4 or 5 times
    2. erased and restored my iPhone twice
    3. tried installing Line from a different Apple ID/Apple Store (ie. US vs. Japan) at least 4 or 5 times
    4. turned off iCloud (in Settings)
Still no luck.  The repeated password prompts are super frustrating.
EDIT: I was running IOS 6 on my iPhone 4 for a few days before switching iPhones, and I did not notice the problem then.  Also, I thought somehow it might be related to an in-app purchase in Line, but also not sure about that.

  • Any reason to upgrade my E51 from 200.34.36?

The phone is working fine for me, except for a few minor annoyances.  About the only reason I'd consider upgrading is if it would fix any of these.
    1.  My previous phone, a Nokia 6133, had timed profiles, where I could select a profile for some length of time, and the phone would automatically return to the default profile.  Really useful for meetings and the like. My E51 currently can't do this.
    2.  I formatted a memory card in the phone, and now it's totally inaccessible from a PC.  I put it in a USB memory card reader, plug it into my system, and nothing.  It doesn't even recognise the memory card, no drive letter appears in explorer like it does when I use a valid memory card. I've checked for a password on the phone, there isn't one.  Itd be nice if there was a way to format a memory card so I can remove it from the phone and access it in a USB reader on a PC.
    3.  Going back to the 6133 again, it had the ability to show both the phone contacts and the SIM contacts in one list.  I can get to the contacts in the SIM card on the 6133, but it'd be a useful feature if I didn't have to drill through two or three levels of menus to get to them.  Just hit the contacts button, and there they are.
If none of these are fixed, I can't see any benefit to upgrading - other than these, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

    See this: http://www.apple.com/finalcutpro/imovie-to-finalcutpro/
I've imported a couple of iMovie '11 projects to Final Cut Pro X. The process works quite seamlessly. The associated Events are also imported to FCP X Events Library. However, in a couple of areas, some items weren't always kept in the correct position - such as Titles. So you may have to play around a bit in order to re-sync some media. Certainly, you will need to check through the whole project to ensure the integrity of the project.
Whilst FCP X can render in the background, I'm finding that things are much quicker in iMovie - each title, transition and effect appears virtually in an instant (no rendering at all during editing). In FCP X, there is a lag - items don't appear to play smoothly until the render is complete. So, when checking how a title or transition looks on playback, to see a smooth result it's best to wait for the render to finish. Of course, this is probably dependent on your system - perhaps I need to upgrade to 8 GB of RAM and a quad core i7.

  • Reasons to upgrade from CRM 4.0 to CRM 7.0 ?

    Hi Experts,
We have CRM 4.0 working on our client system. Why should they upgrade from CRM 4.0 to CRM 7.0 ?
A few reasons that I can think of are :
    1)  SAP will not support CRM 4.0 -
But they can get maintenance support from SAP although at a higher cost
    2) CRM WebClient - fast and easy to configure and maintain -
but this is not so convincing a reason that they should upgrade   and then almost implement whole of CRM again. They already have Portal.
    3) Some new functionality added by SAP in the newer versions-----That is good but their business is working good with the existing functionality of CRM 4.0
Please provide some compelling reasons so that we can ask our client to go for upgrade.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Vikas

    Hi Vikas,
Although your customer happy with the functions in CRM 4.0, and they are willing to pay extra money for extended maintenance fee. SAP will end the support of CRM 4.0 sooner for later.
    Other reasons I could mention:
    1. if there is Java stack then the support of jave stack and the jdk version 1.3.1 is ended.
    2. CRM architecture was changed since CRM 6.0 and and 7.0 provided New tools and assistants simplify, standardize, and reduce development effort significantly, i.e. less code development, more flexible customizing. From this prospective, 7.0 is the investment safe release for long-term
    3. Enhancement of existing functions, details can be found in CRM 7.0 Release notes
    4. If you use compoenent like TREX, definately you will be benefit from newer version, stable, faster etc.
There should be a lot, and you can order upgrade value proposition service from SAP for formal evaluation.
    Cheers,
    Denny

  • Reasons to upgrade

I've been happily behind the curve (no pun intended) on my OS for some time now, still running 4.6, everything running very smoothly. TMO has now apparently approved 5.0 and I'm being prompted to upgrade by my MacDM. Are there any good reasons to do so? Thanks.

    Hiya!
If you are asking about the DM version... then yes, you need to update it to get 5.0 on your device.

  • What is reason to upgrade to Logic 9?

I think version 8 is very good, and I enjoy it very much. I just think - i don't need anything else.... It is so great app.
I just think about reasons why should one upgrade to 9.
It would be nice to hear from different points of view what is so interesting to you to make an upgrade.

I feel the same way you do about LP8. It does everything I need (and much more) so why am I going to upgrade to LP9?
    WORKFLOW
    1) I use Melodyne for time corrections to vocal content. I have watched the videos on "Flex" and not having to render in Melodyne will save me time.
    2) I play guitar and right now I use Pod X3/Pod Farm for my guitar sounds. Having the new guitar related features in LP9 should allow me to get away from having to use the Pod X3 (which I will still use for gigs/jammin/etc.)
    3) The drum replacer feature and audio to sampler features also should speed up my work flow.
    4) Bounce in place....another time saver.
Could I get by with LP8. Absolutely. But if there is a better/faster way to do the same thing...why not use it?
Next Wed I take the plunge.

  • I just upgraded to ios 7.1 on my ipad 2. The main reason I upgraded was to get FaceTime, but it does not appear in the new settings (I didn't have it before either). How can I get it?

I just upgraded my ipad 2 to ios 7.1, mostly to get FaceTime. However, it's not in the settings even with the upgrade. How can I solve this?

You have an iPad2 and that model has the camera. Do you have the camera app on the iPad?
Did you search for the app in Spotlight? Swipe down from the middle of the home screen to reveal the Spotlight Search and type FaceTime into the search field.
    Is your iPad company owned?

  • How to auto upgrade to Cap 6 via subscription

    Good day!
I've been running Captivate 5.5 via the subscription model. I'd like to upgrade Captivate 6. I was on a customer service chat, and the support person said I'd be automatically upgraded and didn't have to do anything. Captivate 6 has been out a while, and I've been using 5.5 a lot. I've never been asked to upgrade. I asked the support person if I would be prompted to download the installer, and he said, "yes".
When I selecte Help > Updates ... I only get information for 5.5. What am I missing?
    Thanks a ton!
