Optimum number of Server nodes for CC

Hi Guys
Just wanted to know what is the optimum number of server nodes for Compliance Calibrator?
By server nodes I mean the ability of CC to process jobs parallelly
Parveen

Hi..
By default you should see 3 bg job threads and 5 web services threads per server node.

  • Maximum number of server nodes for a dispatcher

    Hi,
Is there a maximum (recommended) number of server nodes that can be created per dispatcher, for the 6.40 J2EE Engine? We are considering using a 16GB RAM server with 1 dispatcher and 8 server nodes to run our EP6 SP18 portal. Are there any implications we should be aware of with this setup? Is there any additional configuration for the dispatcher necessary for a high number of server nodes?
Any advice greatly appreciated, points will be awarded.
    Many thanks

    Hi Alexander,
    Thank you for the information.
Is this information documented somewhere in SAPNote or help.sap.com ?

  • How to create one more server node for SAP J2EE server?

    Hi,
Can any one please suggest how to create one more server node for SAP J2EE server? I am using WAS700.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Smriti.

    Hai,
Login into the Configtool(C:\usr\sap\SID\DVEBMGS<inst no>\j2ee\configtool) if ABAP+JAVA stack or C:\usr\sap\SID\JC<inst no>\j2ee\configtool) if JAVA stack
click on the instance and and select the addserver button on the top to create a servernode for J2EE server.

  • What is the optimum number of CPU cores for Photoshop CC?

    The title is the question.

To reinforce what Chris has said, keep in mind there's only one processor package in the new Mac Pro.  There are cases where having two packages - such as in the previous design Mac Pro with dual Xeon x5600 series processors - can actually be a pretty big advantage.
That being said, I've put a lot of thought into how many cores a new Mac Pro ought to be configured with to run graphics software well, and I've come to the thought that 4 is too few and 12 is way too many.  I believe the 3.5 GHz 6 core E5-1650v2 may actually have a slight edge over the 8 core E5-2667v2, because with 12 logical Ivy Bridge processors cranking full-on (with Hyperthreading) the memory bandwidth is actually already going to be taxed.  And of course the 6 core is much cheaper.
There's a nice little Photoshop benchmark that's reasonably indicative of how well a system actually multithreads with Photoshop.  It can be found here:
    http://ksimonian.com/Blog/2010/02/24/improved-photoshop-benchmark-cpu-speed-test-for-both- mac-pc-free-radial-blur-filter-test/
I have a PC workstation with the same chipset as the pre-cylinder Mac Pro (dual Xeon x5690s in my case), and my best speed for that benchmark with Photoshop CC equals the best posted on that site:  8.3 seconds.  People are reporting the new Mac Pro is scoring with that benchmark in the same vicinity - but not really faster.
Do some research yourself and see what various folks with the new cylindrical Mac Pro are scoring on that benchmark.  I'd be interested to hear if your findings are like mine.
    What's your system score, Chris?

  • Options to change jdbc adapter for multiple server nodes without flag in db

Due to load, we are about to add a new server node for additional J2EE memory within XI.  Reading the notes and discussions about this, it is apparent that the server nodes don't distinguish between themselves in terms of polling.  i.e. If we have a jdbc channel that polls every 24 hours, and you have 2 server nodes, it polls twice at the approximate same time every 24 hours.
Question I have is how have people got around this issue where you cannot update the information to say that the data has been read.  i.e. Our scenario is reading the complete table contents every day and sending all information to another system.
Hence, if we have 2 server nodes, we will execute this message twice.  When we add a 3rd server node, we will have 3 messages sent at the same time per day.
One complicated option (I think) is to use an application client on XI to schedule a job which calls an ABAP Proxy on the integration client which starts off a ccBPM which in turn reads the database hence single threading this process.
    Anyone got any sensible ideas?
    Regards,
    Matt
ps. Ignore the obvious design flaws with this approach as there is no other option in this scenario due to restrictions in the end system.

    Hi Matt,
Extending Bhavesh's point, and assuming the receiver system is SAP, then why not schedule your calls on the receiver system, as the consumer of the data.
The report name and optionally a date range can be written from the RFC via XI to a separate table in the database. The select statement can join the table to the existing view. The update statement can update the new table as your source table or view is obviously out of bounds.
The advantage of this approach is that it results in a classic request response where XI is transparent.
We are planning to do something very similar in our own project.
    Best Regards,
    Bill

  • Deleting a server node

    Hello,
I just did a system copy of the production system to a test system using the System copy tool in sapinst. Now, both my production and test systems have 2 server nodes (server0 and server1). But since my test system doesn't have enough resources (RAM, CPU, etc), I would like to delete the extra server node in the test system.
How do I do this? I would really appreciate if someone can explain it or point me in the right direction.
    Thanks,
    Ajay

    Hello Ajay
    please follow the following procedure
1.Start the Config Tool 2. From the tree structure in the left-hand pane, select the Java instance.
    3. In the right-hand pane, choose the Servers tab.
    4. In the field Custom number of server nodes, enter the number of server processes that you want to have in the Java instance.i.e make the value 1
    5.Choose Set.
    6. Choose Apply changes ().
    7. Restart the Java instance.
You will be able to do it
Refer to https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/120c5c0d-0d01-0010-60b1-fb3f00ac9369,this is a useful guide for JAVA

  • Corrected: Federated Portals with Clustered/Server Nodes

We have two server nodes for the producer and two for the consumer.
Each paring is fronted by message server.
When I am setting up the FPN, what url should be used for the producer and consumer?
I first tried setting it up using the producer's message server url  for the "producer", and the consumer's message server for the consumer url.
    But this did not work.
When I set it up from consumer node url to producer node url, it works fine.
But this seems like I would be in trouble if the producer node is down.

Sorry, but maybe I am not asking my question the right way.
I already am using the web dispatcher.
    What I am asking is:
For my producer object, there is a property for the producer host and port and a property for the consumer host and port.
I would think that I would use the host and port of the dispatchers. But I have not been able to get my consumer see my producer if I use these values.

  • Issue while enabling Access Control for a Coherence server node

    Hi
Im trying to enable access control for a Coherence server node, using the default Keystore login method shipped with Coherence. When i start the server i get the error "java.security.AccessControlException: Unsufficient rights to perform the operation". Please see below for the sequence of steps I've followed to enable access control. I just need to be enable Authentication (not authorization) at this stage
    1. I have added the following entry in the Coherence Operational override file

Following is the output on the Console when running the command. It asks for a username and password for the JKS store (If i provide the wrong password, it gives a different error, which shows that it is able to authenticate aganst the Keystore). Did you create the weblogic domain with the Oracle Webcenter Spaces option selected? This should install the relevant libraries into the domain that you will need to deploy your application. My experience is based off WC 11.1.1.0. If you haven't, you can extend your domain by re-running the Domain Config Wizard again (WLS_HOME/common/bin/config.sh)

  • SAP Note #723909 Clarification needed: 2G heap for server nodes

We mare upgrading from Enterprise 4.7 to ERP 6.0 SP12. For our ESS/MSS we will use standalone Java NW 7.0 SP14 with XSS SP12. Our portal servers and ERP ABAP are Unix Solaris 9 or 10 64-bit. The portal servers are 4CPU x 16G. We use three server nodes on our central instance and three server nodes on our dialog instance.  All server nodes have 2G heap.
Recent load tests indicate we are reaching memory limits in the server nodes. THis causes frequent full GC with tenured objects deleted (very time consuming). We want to increase heap size > 2GB.  Note 723909 seems to say this can be done for 64-bit systems, but SAP appears to recommend additional server nodes with 2G heap. I think this is because of GC performance with large heap.
    - Are we supported with heap > 2G?
    - Are there still concerns with GC when heap > 2G?
    - Are there other reasons why heap should be no higher than 2G?
    Thanks in advance

    You´ve answered your questions yourself
To have a fast J2EE engine you need to absolutely make sure all the heap is covered in physical memory. No swapping should take place at all. Once the system starts swapping in and out, you will loose a lot of performance.
How big is your Oracle SGA? If you can decrase it so all the heaps (+ dispatcher heap) will fit in physical memory you can increase more. We use 2.5 - 3 GB heap (for BI) with three server nodes.

  • Optimum number of images per sheet for contact sheet?

what is the optimum number of images per sheet (like 5x5, 10x10 etc) for a contact sheet on the latest photoshop. optimum meaning the largest number of images per page so that you can still see what the image is of and the image number.
    thanks

How are you going to use the Contact Sheet?  If you are not printing, but using your screen or website, you can use your file browser to simulate the Contact Sheet.  In Windows > File Explorer, choose large icons, and zoom in or out with Ctrl Mouse Wheel.

    Hi
a number of workflows went into error with message maximum number of nodes for the session reached 11000 . what can be the reason . is there some settings thats need to be made in production . because it is working in dr3 and qr3

    Hi,
Check the condition on the loop for you workflow. It seems its getting into infinite loop.
Also check for the possibility FM which might be triggering your workflow is getting executed in an infinite loop. So it might trigger multiple instances of the same workflow.

  • Central CCMS Alert for Java instance server node crash

    Hi,
Is it possible to trigger an alert of an Java system server node crash using central CCMS alerts.
J2EE instance CCMS alert does show some MTEs, however they do not trigger alerts. I got this info from below link
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce711/helpdata/en/46/11aaf352da14dce10000000a155369/frameset.htm
Any idea how to trigger the alert for server node crash.
I understand that server node crash should be investigated for permanent fix, however we need this as a proactive measure to know the crash if they happen.
    Thanks

    Hi Imtiaz,
Do you see any error on the view>status auto-reaction? Have you been able to assign an auto-reaction to this MTE?

  • Automatically display number when the mouse attach approach node for chart ?

    Hi all,
can automatically display number when the mouse attach approach node for chart ?
    For detail ,see attach file

Charts don't have cursors and they also don't have the "plot images" options, so your tools are limited.
Of course you can simulate a chart using a graph by keeping your own history and display it on a graph. Use cursor move events to trigger the calculation of the distances from the new cursor position to all points on the graph and pick the one with the shortest distance to the cursor. Now you can get the annotation tools to label the point, or get its x and y value and write the info using picture tools with the "plot images" property.

  • How To Configure TREX Name Server&Port for UDDI  Service Registry Settings

    Hello Experts,
we are using CE 7.1 SP 4 and I would like to use the trex service in the Service Registry.
I use \NWA\Service Registry Configuration\Service Registry Settings\Keyword Search and want to test the TREX Communication using the Test Connection Button.
If I do so, I receive "Connection to TREX not successful".
When I press the Update TREX button I receive this exception:
com.sapportals.trex.TrexException: TREX Name Server (including back-up servers) is down or not accessable. (Errorcode 7217)
    I tried to configure the trex.service with the two parameters: nameserver.address and nameserver.backupserverlist -> tcpip://myhostname.mydomain:30001 (Instance 00).
I am not sure if the port number is correct -> is there a way to lookup the correct port number?
Is there something else I should configure?
    Thanks for help, best regards
    Thomas

    Hi Ganesh,
In order to access the Visual Administrator, go to Start > Programs > SAP J2EE Engine > Visual Administrator. After you login, you will see 2 nodes i.e. Dispatcher and Server. Expand the Server node. Then go to "Services" and expand it. Then go all the way down to "TREX Service". Then on the right hand side, go to the property "nameserver.address" where you will key in "tcpip://<nameserver>:<port>". Then hit "Update" and click on the "Save" button. Then when you go to TRex Monitor, you should be able to see the Name Server running. Hope this helps.
    Thanks,
