ORA-00494: enqueue [CF] held for too long (more than 900 seconds)
Hi ,
I am getting this error , the database is in no archive mode and there is frequent log switch.
However following few metalink notes I have set the hidden parameters like
killcontrolfile_enqueue_blocker=false
killenqueue_blocker=1
I wanted to reduce the frequece log switch how to reduce it.
ORA-00494: enqueue [CF] held for too long (more than 900 seconds) by 'inst 1
One way is to make the size of the redo logs bigger and another way is to do some less work :)
Changing Redo Log File SizesEach Redo Log File member in a Group must be identical in size. If you need to make your Redo Log Files larger, use the following steps.
1. Use the V$LOG view to identify the current active Redo Log Group.
SQL> SELECT group#, status FROM v$log;
GROUP# STATUS
1 INACTIVE
2 INACTIVE
3 CURRENT
4 INACTIVE
2. Drop one or more of the inactive Redo Log Groups keeping at least two current On-line Redo Log Groups.
3. Use operating system commands to delete the files that stored the dropped Redo Log Files.
4. Recreate the groups with larger file sizes. Continue this sequence until all groups have been resized.

Insert an hyperlink in a mail text but the URL is too long (more than 255)
Hi to all,
I was asked to insert an hyperlink in a mail text. I was thinking to use '<A href =" ' command . I'm usin BSC interface but my problem is that the internal table in wich I'm loading the body message is 255 character while the URL i'm trying to include in the e-mail si too long . Any fast solution ?
Thanks
AndrewYou don't need to put the entire anchor tag contents on one line in the table before you append it to the body contents. The reading application (Outlook, etc.) knows the entire tag contents based on the open/close of the tag. I often chunk up my anchor tags like that via text elements so they're easier to read in the code. Though you can't really see it, this is an anchor tag:
begin_table 0.
begin_row.
begin_cell 100.
gs_email_contents-line = text-s03.
append_content.
gs_email_contents-line = text-s04.
append_content.
gs_email_contents-line = text-s05.
append_content.
end_cell.
end_row.
end_table. -
can't start up my ipod 5thG and stay remining the logo of apple for too long don't know how to do????
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Hi All,
Can someone pls help me in finding how long will it take to execute the below query.
I have a query that is taking too long to execute.
SELECT CPU_TIME/1000000/60 CPUTIME, ELAPSED_TIME/1000000/60 ELAPSEDTIME, PROGRAM_LINE#, OPTIMIZER_COST,
USER_IO_WAIT_TIME/1000000/60 IOWAITTIME, DISK_READS, DIRECT_WRITES, BUFFER_GETS, to_char(Q.SQL_FULLTEXT), OPTIMIZER_MODE, SHARABLE_MEM, PERSISTENT_MEM, RUNTIME_MEM, SORTS, FETCHES, EXECUTIONS, END_OF_FETCH_COUNT, USERS_EXECUTING, LOADS,
FIRST_LOAD_TIME, INVALIDATIONS, PARSE_CALLS, APPLICATION_WAIT_TIME, CONCURRENCY_WAIT_TIME, CLUSTER_WAIT_TIME,
PLSQL_EXEC_TIME, JAVA_EXEC_TIME, ROWS_PROCESSED, COMMAND_TYPE, PARSING_USER_ID, PARSING_SCHEMA_ID, PARSING_SCHEMA_NAME, OBJECT_STATUS
FROM v$session S, v$sqlarea Q
WHERE S.SQL_ADDRESS = Q.ADDRESS
AND s.username = 'SCHEMA_NAME'
AND s.osuser = 'OSUSER_NAME';I can see CPU_TIME increasing. Is there any way that I can find how lmuch more time will it take for the query to execute.
The query creates a table that has a sub query and inner query.

saazhttp://www.gplivna.eu/papers/v$session_longops.htm
There is a dynamic performance view v$session_longops that is populated for many long running operations in Oracle. The primary criterion for any operation to appear in v$session_longops is to run more than 6 seconds. Although this isn’t the only criterion as well as not all operations that take more than 6 seconds are shown in this view. For example one can find hash joins in v$session_longops, but you won’t find there nested loop joins even if they are longer than 6 seconds and are joining very big data sets. -
DFS Error 9061 (Replicated folder offline for too long) won't go away
We have a server that got disconnected from a DFS replication group for too long. The error says to remove the server from the group and re-add it. I've done that about 6 times and I keep getting the error. I even tried deleting the replicated folder on
the server so it would copy from other servers but the error just won't go away. How can I get rid of it and get the folder replicating again?Hi,
Based on your description, we can try to following the steps described in the section
Recovering DFSR from Content Protection in the following blog to troubleshoot the issue.
Implementing Content Freshness protection in DFSR
http://blogs.technet.com/b/askds/archive/2009/11/18/implementing-content-freshness-protection-in-dfsr.aspx
If the issue persists, please keep us posted.

IPhone 3 screen active for too long
Hi I have an iPhone 3 and have a problem, if I am out and use the phone the screen remains active for too long, leaving me standing there with phone in hand waiting for the screen to become inactive before I dare put it back in my pocket (Because otherwise the stupid thing does things like ring numbers in my numbers directory or activates an app in my pocket)...
I am sure there must be something that we can do apart from stand around like an idiot with phone in hand before the **** active screen deactivates...I need it to go to sleep sooner than the 1 minute default to avoid accidental dialing when putting it back in my pocket. There does not seem to be a way to set it to 30 seconds , or is there?

My Iphone 3g will not unlock if its been locked for too long
just as the title says and all these issues too....
Whenever my phone is locked for too long it will not respond to any button presses. the only way i can get it out of that is if i hard reboot it but happens again afterwards. the only way to keep it from not acting like that is to keep it plugged in constantly. also if i try to shut it off normally it will power on by itself right after its shut off. ive tried to do a full restore in recovery mode and that didnt even solve the problem. any ideas?Anyone? C'mom, I know some of you techie type folks know how to fix this!

Our TC has been a door-stop for too-long ...
Our TC has been a door-stop for too-long ... so I was thinking of blowing the dust off it & giving it another go ... the .n wireless would be very welcome, but will Time Machine work with it, and are the dreaded curtain & sparesbundle problems as thing of the past ??? I'm nervous - if it works, then great, but if those problems are still around ... nightmares
I not sure how I can properly answer your concerns with the Time Capsule (TC), but my suggestion is to give it another try. Make sure that you perform a "hard" reset to clear its current configuration and use the AirPort Utility to configure it as you see fit. I also recommend that, if not already, to update both the TC's firmware (7.3.2) and the AirPort Utility (5.3.2) to the latest versions.
I can't say that you (or others) didn't experience issues with the TC, but for the majority of folks it has worked "as advertised." I would suggest that you start with using Time Machine on just a single computer and let it run for a week or two to verify proper operation. Once satisfied, go ahead and add additional TM backups for your other computers. -
how can i go to DFU mode if my sleep/wake button doesn't work? my phones been stuck on the logo for too long.
You can't. Either get your phone fixed at a third-party repair shop, or go to an Apple store & they will replace your phone for US $199.

<blockquote>Locking duplicate thread.<br>

firefox keeps my history for too long. how can i change the setting to 2 weeksDo you mean you have a Macbook Pro (laptop) versus a Mac Pro (desktop)?
You can back up the MBP, restart using Command+R to boot into the Mavericks Recovery HD, erase the Mactintosh HD and Reinstall OS X. Then you can go through setup and configure it with your information and Apple ID. Mavericks should not prompt you for an Apple ID when it goes through the install since that OS is free.
One thing you might want to consider is asking the previous owner to unregister the MBP from his Apple ID if he previously registered it. Then you can register it under your Apple ID.
The previous owner should have wiped it clean and reinstalled the OS that came pre-installed before selling it. -
Will the MBP speakers blow if I play it on max. volume for too long?
Will the MBP speakers blow if I play it on max. volume for too long?
Depends what you call too long. Leave any electronics running too long it will eventually break. Might take years, but no mechanical system is immortal. No computer has yet been built around superconductors either, so heat alone would cause circuitry to fail if it is always powered. While leaving on the machine all the time (except for bad weather) is a good idea since Mac OS X is able to do that, individual components I would not always leave in use. Use your energy wisely. Not to mention max volume for too long could theoretically make you deaf if you listen to it all the time.
Use common sense. -
Can you charge the battery for too long?
I know that with cell phones if you leave the charger in for too long the battery starts to lose life. Is it the same way with the macbook or did the engineers work out a way that you can keep the charger connected for as long as you want and it won't drain battery life?
I'd like to charge the battery whenever I go to sleep but I'm afraid that it will have charged too much by the time I wake up. I learned that the hard way with my cell phone, which seems to lose power much quicker than it used to.Hi,
since Apple recommends to never remove the battery while running the MacBook on AC-power, it is the logical conclusion.

says that your network setup is not correct. You need to resolve that first.
As for Broker setup steps how about the doc or our Data Guard 11g Handbook?
It's 3 DGMGRL commands so I am not sure what 'steps' you need?
