  • ORA-01078 at startup

    Hello guys,
    i am using an Centos 6.2 linux with installed oracle-xe. I have installed it from an rpm.
    I use always the default settings.
    After that i could start it normal and successful connect to apex.
    Now i want to create an database user.
    I connect as sysdba: sqlplus "sys as sysdba" and enter the password.
    The message: "Connect to an idle instance" comes.
    If i try: "CREATE USER HTS IDENTIFIED BY pw1;" the error ora-01034 occurred.
    If i try: "startup" the error ora-01078 and lrm-00109: could not open parameter file '/u01/app/oracle/prodcut/11.2.0/xe/dbs/initxe.ora' occurred.
    I have read a lot but i don't see the solution for my problem.
    Has anyone an idea?

    Hi;
    1. Centos is not certified platform
    2. For your issue i suggest close your thread here as changing thread status to answered and move it to Forum Home » Database » Application Express which is XE dedicated forum site.

  • Multiple Homes ORA-01078 LRM-00109

    Hi,
    i have three ORACLE_HOMEs with two databases at the same server in two homes which are named "stg" and "infra". Yes, it comes from an Oracle Collaboration Suite installation :-)
    After a restart of the server i'm facing the ORA-01078 LRM-00109 errors if i'm trying to start the infra-tier database.
    Because the stg-home is the main home, i have added the infra TNS and Listener informations to the stg-home Listener and TNSNames files.
    I'm using ONE Listener of the stg-tier.
    It's trying to use the stg-config files with the infra tier and it fails with the errors above:
    SQL> startup;
    ORA-01078: failure in processing system parameters
    LRM-00109: could not open parameter file 'C:\OCS_ONEBOX\STG\DATABASE\INITIASDB.O
    RA'
    SQL> startup;
    ORA-01078: failure in processing system parameters
    LRM-00109: could not open parameter file 'C:\OCS_ONEBOX\STG\DATABASE\INITIASDB.ORA'
    Should i try to create a initiasdb.ora in the stg-tier which points to the correct spfile of the infra tier or daoes it overwrite other files after the startup? Or how could i switch the homes for startup?
    My tnsnames and Listener entries seems to be okay. The stg-tier database startsup without problems.
    Thank you,
    Maurice

    Oh, i'm using WinXP SP2 and Oracle 9i.

  • Scheduled Web Intelligence report fails with ORA-01013 and WIS 10901

    Hi,
            the environment I'm working in is BOXI R2 SP4 on a Solaris 10 server using WebLogic running against Oracle 9i database.
    I have a report written by one of the users. In SQL Viewer the SQL detailed is two joined Select statements. Each time this report is either scheduled or refreshed is fails with an ORA-01012 and WIS 10901 error.
    I am of the understanding that this failure relates to the fact that the 'Limit Execution Time To;'  value is being exceeded.
    I also understand that this value is infact divided by the number of Select statements present, and that each Select statment is them allocated an equal portion of this value.
    If any of this is incorrect please correct me.
    I therefore have two questions
    1. As such would I be correct in assuming that in my scenario where 2 Select statments are present and where the execution limit is set to 30 minutes, that each Select has 15 minutes to complete, and that if either fails the ORA-01012 and WIS 10901 error is generated.
    2. Also would this error message get generated as soon as the first failure occurred, or would BO initiate a cancellation of the SQL by Oracle, ORA-01012, only when the final request has either succeeded or failed.

    The queries are not executed in parallel but in serial. So the total execution time configured will be for all the Select statements in the report combined.
    As for your second question, since the execution is not parallel hence BO will not initiate any error message until the total execution time exceeds the defined limit. This could be during the execution of first select statement or the second.
    Try executing the queries directly in database one by one and see how much time they are taking.

    3. When checking database as grid user it seems to be Database runnning...  If running why it is not in OPEN state? What is running means here?
    4. When I log on as oracle user and query v$instance, then error shown above occured. And also when startup  the database then another error occured as in above. WHY?
    5. When I edit /etc/oratab file manually why second row saved but the first one is changed after restart the system?
    6. Normally, which user have to start, stop or manage database? I think that oracle user is necessary for managing database and the grid user is only for managing ASM and Oracle Restart.

    Hi user:
    1. Yes the database and lsnr were closed as the tar files were created. So, i assume thate there are no any oracle session avalibale when you copy files from source to target
    2. Yes I would also like to mention that it already had an old instance. So this is just a new clone. So, i mention you have valid entery on /etc/hosts file
    3. Please can you describe what permissions as from root user it was done as
    chown -R oratest:dba <db tier folders> If your target user is oratest than syntax seems correct, did you copy oracle_home too from source to target and this home owner is oratest again right?
    Regard

    Hi reshumakur
    As this is your PRODUCTION system THEN_ The best help to offer in case of ORA-600, and ORA-7445 is to open SR with metalink. Submit with the SR the following
    1- Alert log
    2- Trace files (in ur case e:\oracle\product\10.2.0\admin\orcl\udump\orcl_ora_6012.trc: and e:\oracle\product\10.2.0\em_2\rdbms\trace\orcl_ora_4756.trc:)
    3- Describe what was happening when you had these errors.
    Try to avoid free help when you have ORA-600 and ORA-07445. This errors could be becuase of BUGS. Oracle Support will know this from the call stack in the trace file.
    Then Do your best to patch 10.2.0.4 and the latest CPU patch.
    Good Luck

  • Error ORA-39125 and ORA-04063 during export for transportable tablespace

    I'm using the Oracle Enterprise Manager (browser is IE) to create a tablespace transport file. Maintenance...Transport Tablespaces uses the wizard to walk me through each step. The job gets created and submitted.
    The 'Prepare' and 'Convert Datafile(s)' job steps complete successfully. The Export step fails with the following error. Can anyone shed some light on this for me?
    Thank you in advance!

    More information:
    Using SQL Developer, I checked the view SYS.KU$_IOTABLE_VIEW referred to in the error message, and it does indeed report a problem with that view. The following code is the definition of that view. I have no idea what it's supposed to be doing, because it was part of the default installation. I certainly didn't write it. I did, however, execute the 'Test Syntax' button (on the Edit View screen), and the result was this error message:
    =======================================================
    The SQL syntax is valid, however the query is invalid or uses functionality that is not supported.
    Unknown error(s) parsing SQL: oracle.javatools.parser.plsql.syntax.ParserException: Unexpected token
    =======================================================
    The SQL for the view looks like this:
    REM SYS KU$_IOTABLE_VIEW
    CREATE OR REPLACE FORCE VIEW "SYS"."KU$_IOTABLE_VIEW" OF "SYS"."KU$_IOTABLE_T"
