I am getting the following error when i am using impdp
ORA-02374: conversion error loading table "STAGING1"."REGBAS_STG"
ORA-12899: value too large for column ARAB_FAM_NAME (actual: 95, maximum: 88)
ORA-02327: data for row: ARAB_FAM_NAME : 0X'BFBFBFBFEABFEA202020202020202020202020202020202020'The export was taken from a oracle 11 g r2 database 64 bit database and i am importing it to oracle 11g r2 database which is 32bit, could this be causing this error?
can i create the structure of the table without loading the data and then edit this particular feild and increase it, and then load the data so that it i can avoid this error.
this is quite urgent and if i can import other tables except this, that will also be good, will work on this issue after importing all the other tables,

One database could use double-byte characters (the source) and the other single-byte characters.

And you are jumping to conclusion. You may have an arab_fam_name of varchar2(.. bytes) in one database and varchar2(.. char) in the other.

1) Created a FORM on EMP using the wizards. This creates an AUTOMATIC ROW FETCH

Item Containing PRIMARY KEY - P2099_EMPNO
Primary key column - EMPNO
By default the automatic fetch has a ‘Process Error Message’ of ‘Unable to fetch row.’
2) Created a HTML region. Within this region add
text item P2099_FIND_EMPNO
Button GET_EMP to submit
Branch Modified the conditional branch created during button creation to set P2099_EMPNO with &P2099_FIND_EMPNO.
If I then run the page, enter an existing employee number into P2099_EMPNO and press the GET_EMP button the form is populated correctly. But if I enter an employee that does not exist then I get the oracle error ORA-01403: no data found and no form displayed but a message at the top of the page ‘Action Processed’.I was expecting a blank form to be displayed with the message ‘Unable to fetch row.’
I can work around this by making the automated fetch conditional so that it checks the row exists first. Modify the Fetch row from EMP automated fetch so that it is conditional

But this means that when the employee exists I must be fetching from the DB twice, once for the condition and then again for the actual row fetch.
Rather than the above work around is there something I can change so I don’t get the Oracle error? I’m now wondering if the automatic row fetch is only supposed to be used when linking a report to a form and that I should be writing the fetch process manually. The reason I haven’t at the moment is I’m trying to stick with the automatic wizard generation as much as I can.
Any ideas?

Works better then anything else .......add multiple links for all files sit back and relax. Its all done for you with no more intervention on your part! Check it out!

ORA-04030: out of process memory when using Java Stored Procedures

I have a problem using Java Stored Procedures in Oracle 10g.
My Java application performs http posts to a webservice and the response is parsed in order to populate some DB tables.
There is a scheduled job which calls the Java Stored Procedure every x minutes.
No matter of the 'x minutes' values - after about 160 - 200 calls I get this error:
ORA-04030: out of process memory when trying to allocate 1048620 bytes (joxp heap,f:OldSpace)

The job stops just while is posting the http request. The weird thing is that almost each time the first http post request I get this error:

Can be a problem with JVM threading under Oracle ?

The server prcess failed to allocate more memory for large objects ( in Oldspace).
If you Google ORA-04030, you will see several recommendations to work around this.
The Java VM in the database already has HttpClient, i don't know why you are loading the Apache HttpClient but this might not be the surce of the problem.

when the APEX page has validations AND a tabular form is also present on the page.
I did see a couple of other forum links discussing the issue (bug id: 9879227 ?? ).
But what i want to get a confirmation on is, in which release was this bug really fixed ?
i see the release notes of 4.0.1.00.03 claiming that it is fixed
in the release.
we are on 4.0.1.00.03. is this bug really solved in release 4.0.1.00.03?
are there any known work-arounds ? i tried re-creating the report multiple times, but that did not help.
Any suggestions or work-arounds will greatly help us.

Not so fast. Most things ARE compatible, adn mavericks will tell you what isn't and basically quarantine it. So i seriously doubt it has anything to do with the poster's issue.
Nbow, to the OP - it goes white and...... stays white? For how long? When you say when it re-booted, re-booted after precisely what? Did you complete the install? ....talk to us.

Unable to download SAP NetWeaver 7.01 using IDM - Plz help

I tried downloading SAP NetWeaver 7.01 - ABAP Trial using IDM but it failed after downloading 70% of it.
I tried it 4 times but it failed showing the message "server doesn't responded".
Is there any other way downloading it or should i download it without using a download manager.

U were right. I t was bcoz connection used to break while downloading. I need to download it where I can get a speed of 1 mbps.
My connection provide a sped of 60 kbps so due to long downloading time connection broke.

ORA-01435: user does not exist when using imp utility

I installed Oracle 8.1.7.0.0 successfully on WINDOWS 2000 and created a database TEST using DBCA. Then I used a script to creat a tablespace and a user in TEST databse. I could use the imp utility to import the data (a dmp file) to the TEST database without any problem. But after I applied a patch to bring up the version to Oracle 8.1.7.4.1, I got the following error when I tried to use the imp utility again to import the data (a dmp file) to the TEST database.
IMP-00003: ORACLE error 1435 encountered
ORA-01435: user does not exist
IMP-00000: Import terminated unsuccessfully
I checked that I created the same user test (as it is in dmp file I wanted to import) on TEST, and I could login to TEST using:
sqlplus test/test@TEST
The command I used is:
imp system/password@TEST file=test.dmp full=y log=importTEST.TEST.tmp
I also tried to use the following command:
imp system/password@TEST file=test.dmp fromuser=test touser=test log=importTEST.TEST.tmp
and got the same error as before.
Anyone has any clues what could go wrong? The only difference for me to import the data on TEST is that the
previous successful import was done in Oracle 8.1.7.0.0.
Is it possible that I missed something during the applying of the patch 8.1.7.4.1?

Ther is a set of instruction to be followed after installing the patch set 8.1.7.4.1 after running it thru OUI.They are as follows. Please complete these steps and u should not have problems any more.
When applying this patchset on Windows NT and Windows 2000, you must log onto the system as a user with Administrative privileges (e.g., as a user which is a member of the local Administrators group).
1.Disabling system triggers.
Before performing the next step, you must first set SYSTEMTRIG_ENABLED = FALSE in the initialization parameter file. To do this add the following line to your init<sid>.ora file and restart the database (see Note 149948.1 in Metalink for more information on this issue).
systemtrig_enabled=false
2.Invoke SQL*Plus (sqlplus), connect as internal and run the following:
select * from duc$ where PACK='JIS$INTERCEPTOR$' ;
If no rows were returned go to the next step. If a row was returned delete it using the following:

commit;

Ora-00600 error on select distinct when using cursors

Hi, we are using oracle9iFS version 9.0.1.1.0. When I execute the following query in sqlPlus an ora-00600 error occurs.

I was able to reproduce this error. This looks like a bug in the RDBMS; I would suggest posting on their newsgroup or working with support to handle this problem.

one small advice....
SQL95 semantics is something that is new in Oracle (from 9 version)....so maybe if you try to write your query with standard "=" "=+" join signs...
I know that if that is part of universal app (SQL comaptible) that soem aditional problems may occure...but just try and look at the result...

Getting ORA-00600, CSS-00152, CSS-00120 When Using csscan

I am getting this error when running CSScan. The solution in metalink says to purge recycle bin. Is this the windows recycle bin or some oracle's internal recycle bin. Purging windows recycle bin did not help.

"ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel" means that the shadow process crashed. A trace file in the user_dump_dest directory should tell the details of the crash.
This is probably a case for Oracle Support.

I have set up a dblink pointing to hsodbc.
But when I try to select from a table in SQLServer
I get the error message
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-02068: following severe error from HSODBC
ORA-03114: not connected to ORACLE
Can you please help. I could not identify the problem.

I am trying to transfer data from SQLServer 2000 to Oracle 8.1.6 on Sun.
I have configured my ODBC on Sun and it works fine.
Now I am trying to get the data in Oracle.

I modified the tnsnames.ora to say
hsodbc.css.mot.com =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS_LIST =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = nj050149)(PORT = 1521))
(CONNECT_DATA =
(SID = hsodbc)
and now I get an error message saying
ORA-12545: Connect failed because target host or object does not exist

Images not appear when using SUN IDE. help !

I have the Sun IDE, and I have a problem. The problem is : when I compile using this IDE, Images do not appear.
But when I compile using another IDE such as JPadPro, images appear well.

Huge, crazy artifacts appear when using filters. Help?

For some reason, in a particular file I'm using, whenever I use a filter, very strange artifacts appear. Here is an example of what I'm talking about:
The only things that SHOULD be visible are the words "Example of Issue" and the red lines. When I apply the Motion Blur filter, the yellow, pink, green, and blue artifacts appear. If I undo, the artifacts dissapear, but when I re-do, they will reappear (although they are in different places and look different each time). I can select and delete them like any other pixels.
Restarting Photoshop and re-opening the file doesn't fix the issue. This only happens with this specific psd. I'm using Photoshop CS5 on Mac OS 10.6.8. Does anyone know what's going on?

The file could be corrupt, but I'm not sure how that would lead to further corruption.
Do you have another computer handy that you could load that file on, and see if the problem follows the file? (and if so, email ccox(at) adobe (dot) com to get me a copy of that file)
But that really looks like the sort of artifacts you get from bad RAM or a bad video card.
