  • Starting Oracle 11gr2 Im getting Error: ORA-03135: connection lost contact

    Hi Guys!
Thanks for your advises. I still working toward a resolution.
But I encountered another issue from Enterp Manager :
ERROR : Please correct the following error: Connection string must be specified.
    My connection has this format:
//using connection string attributes to connect to Oracle Database
      con.ConnectionString = "User Id=scott;Password=tiger;Data Source=oracle";
      con.Open();
      Console.WriteLine("Connected to Oracle" + con.ServerVersion);
Please tell me what is wrong here. Thanks. Dan.

    Hi,
Please check Oracle support id : Troubleshooting ORA-3135 Connection Lost Contact (Doc ID 787354.1)

  • Data Guard Broker fails with ORA-16635 and ORA-03135

    Hi All,
I configured Oracle RAC with Dataguard 11.2 on Windows 2003.
I've already configured Standby without Data Guard Broker and everything is working fine, but when I try to use Data Guard Broker, he can not synchronize the files from the Data Guard Broker.
I've tried everything including MOS, but not found anything.
    I'm getting this error.

    Hi,
Are you using firewall between Hosts?
If yes check if firewall is blocking yours connections.
Set the following parameter in the sqlnet.ora file that would be referenced by each database, primary and standby.
    SQLNET.EXPIRE_TIME=n
Where n is some number of minutes. Preferably below 10. When this parameter is enabled, a small 10 byte probe packet will be sent from node to node at specific intervals.

  • ORA-02068 + ORA-03135

    Hi,
we are getting this two ORA-02068 + ORA-03135 errors on application side using dblink .... can any one pls help....
for 03135 we did some changes on db side .. what about ORA-02068 , is there is any action we have to made for this 2068 error
    Thanks,

    Hi,
I have a similar problem... but more strange...
The customer have an aplication on JBOSS with a Oracle database 10.2.0.4.
When the user is logged in the application, he makes a query through the application, this query run a procedure that makes a select on the DB local an conects a remote DB with a db_link connection, with a synonym on the table remote and the procedure that fails
This procedure have a EXCEPTION clause at the end, that insert in a "error table" that shows the following information:
    PET_ID ERROR DESCRIPTION F_CREATION USER_CREATION
    4565 -2068 ORA-02068: error grave de DB_COSTES 25/05/2011 09:41;11 [jboss]-xxxxxxxxx
ORA-03135: la conexión ha perdido contacto
    4566 -1001 ORA-01001: cursor no válido 25/05/2011 09:41;47 [jboss]-xxxxxxxxx
    4567 -1001 ORA-01001: cursor no válido 25/05/2011 09:41;48 [jboss]-xxxxxxxxx
    4568 -1001 ORA-01001: cursor no válido 25/05/2011 09:41;49 [jboss]-xxxxxxxxx
The error "ORA-01001: cursor no válido" appears on the "error table" when the user tries to re-run another searh in the application
The DBA (in client side) must drop/create the synonym on the table and recompile the procedure to be able to work again... so, this error INVALID the procedure.
It's not for iddle time of application, because I asked for the user and he said me that when he logged at the first time in the morning, and make the search, he got the error too.
    Can anybody help me?
    Thank you
    Bond2

  • SQL*LOADER script with ORA-03135: connection lost contact error

    Hello,
I got a really strange problem with a script that transfer data from a database to an other. Each day we recieve the raw data in zipped txt files, then we feed it to the database with SQL Loader. This worked fine until two weeks ago. At first, I thought the error must have been in the script, but it didn't change at all since 3 months. And the weirdest thing is that sometime it works without any problems, but now I get almost anytime the "ORA-03135: connection lost contact" and it seems to happen randomly. It never fails at the same place , thought the data I feed the script is always the same.
I'm new to SQL*Loader and since the script seems to send all the data, I don't understand where that error come from. Can I do something on my workstation or the problem is on the database server ?
I think the problem would be that the connection get a timeout out on the server, but we never got that problem on the production server and it has a lot more data to transfer then my little test script.
Have you any idea on whjat the problem could be ?

    03135, 00000, "connection lost contact"
// *Cause:  1) Server unexpectedly terminated or was forced to terminate.
//          2) Server timed out the connection.
// *Action: 1) Check if the server session was terminated.
//          2) Check if the timeout parameters are set properly in sqlnet.ora.I would suspect networking issues external to sqlldr & Oracle

You are right, i added the complete error
By chance do yo have a recommendation where can i look for to find the source problem?
Because in oracle client's logs or database's logs i can't find the ORA-03135 : connection lost contact

  • ORA-03135: connection lost contact (Solaris 10 x86)

    Hi,
I installed 10g in Solaris 10 x86, when I try to connect to the database from another machine the terminal frozes and later spawns a ORA-03135 error, it doesn't even enter the db, the tnsping is succesful.
I can log in locally in the Solaris server without problem (sqlplus system@orcl).
I've checked if there's any firewall but it doesn't seem to, and ssh is also working.
svcs -v ipfilterSTATE NSTATE STIME CTID FMRI
    disabled - 14:06:03 - svc:/network/ipfilter:default
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,

  • Few Win client machine throws up (only port 1521) ORA-03135 Error

    Hi Everyone,
We have been encountering a strange issue with the client --> database connectivity.
    Oracle Database Server 11.2.0.3 (64bits) Single Instance - AIX 6.1 (64 bits)
    Oracle Client 11.2.0.3 (32 bits) - Windows 2008 R2 Standard (64 bits)
Two windows client machines disconnect from the database server while running a script. The connection hangs when the script is being executed with just the cursor on the screen. After a while, it throws up the ORA-03135- connection lost contact error.
The same script works fine from other windows machine perfectly even on VPN and having different versions of oracle clients installed on them too. Have tried following up a number of KB articles. Have tried setting up sql.net timeout parameters on the server as well as client accordingly. Checked firewall settings with network team. Even tried opening up all firewall ports for test purposes but still the issue persists.
Oracle Support suggested a number of troubleshooting steps and one of the step was the following:
".....Try changing listener port instead of common port 1521. Many routers including Juniper handles Oracle default listener port 1521 specially and thus might impose traffic limit."
Quickly we tried changing the listener port and also the firewall guys changed the port to 1522 from existing 1521. As soon as we did this, we were able to run the scripts fine from both the machines clearly indicating a stable connection. We tried reverting back to 1521 and encountered the same issue.
Anyone aware of this peculiar issue? All help will be really appreciated! Thank you!

    Hi Helios,
I have gone through the documents earlier and the respective sql parameters has been set. But again, the problem is ONLY with 2 of our windows client machines and that too when the db listener port is set to default 1521. Our network team confirmed that all the SQL related ALG filtering has been disabled. The Intrusion Protection System (IPS) is also disabled as default between the client - database network VLAN.

  • Error ORA-02068,ORA-03135,ORA-06512 in Streams

    Hi All,
I am new to Streams. Actually we are trying to replicate the data between 2 databases and we are using streams for this.
But we are getting the below error in DBA_PROPAGATION table.
ORA-02068: following severe error from TINFOT3
    ORA-03135: connection lost contact
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_AQADM_SYS", line 1087
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_AQADM_SYS", line 7636
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_AQADM", line 631
    ORA-06512: at line 1
It seems the capture process is running perfectly.
Can anyone suggest the solution or where to look more to troubleshoot the issue.
    Thanks.
    Amit.

The error looks like your target database may be down / dblink is not working / network issue..

  • ORA-03135 (lost connection) after collector start

After installing either AV 10.2.2.0 or 10.3.0 and associated agent of same version, collectors die. Excerpt from DBAUD_Collector log file:

    ERROR @ '25/07/2008 16:41:37 -5:00':
    ORA-03135: connection lost contact

    Problem solved!
    1. Stop db and rename
    C:\ORACLEXE\APP\ORACLE\PRODUCT\10.2.0\SERVER\DBS\SPFILEXE.ORA
    to
    C:\ORACLEXE\APP\ORACLE\PRODUCT\10.2.0\SERVER\DBS\OLD_SPFILEXE.ORA
    2. Start db.
    3. sqlplus "/ as sysdba"
    4. In sqlplus:
    startup pfile='C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server\config\scripts\init.ora';
    This brings up the database.
    5. In sqlplus:
    create spfile from pfile='C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server\config\scripts\init.ora';
    This creates 'C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server\database\SPFILEXE.ORA'
    6. Stop db, move SPFILEXE.ORA to C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server\dbs
    7. Start db. Now it is working.
    Thoughts:
    1. I probably don't have to do 4. And I can combine 5 and 6 and generate SPFILEXE.ORA from init.ora in one step by specifying the destination.
    2. In C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server\config\scripts there is a initXETemp.ora which is very similar to init.ora. You may use it to recover as well.
    Thanks everyone!

  • Report Server and ORA-03135 - Connection Lost

    Hello,
We are running Oracle 10gR2 (AppServer, Report Server and Database) and we notice that in the error log of the database, we getting many error ora-03135-Connection Lost. After investigating a bit on this, i think i found the cause of those error. Error seem to be generated by the report server everytime it automatically shutdown an engine because engine was not use in the last 30 min. Is there a way to prevent the report server to cause this error in the DB log file ?? maybe it is only a setting to change.
And we don`t want to extend the timeout of the engine to prevent it to shutdown automatically because this will cause memory issue on the server if engine always stay up
    Thank
    Martin

Use death connection detection in the sqlnet.ora file. Usually setting SQLNET.EXPIRE_TIME is used to catch firewall timeouts, but in your case you could use it to detect that the report engine was stopped. Set SQLNET.EXPIRE_TIME to a slighty higher value than 30 minutes, say 35 minutes. Then each 35 minutes a probe packet is send to test if the connection is still alive. If not then the RDBMS ends the connection.
    cheers

Why would I be losing connection? The restore worked with a 10G restore I did with the same catalog on the same server.
    Regards

Are the Oracle versions for both the source database home and the target database home the same (INCLUDING patchlevel)? Obviously you are trying to restore to an already patched ORACLE_HOME. ORA-03135 is only the consequence, but problem reasons are RMAN-10041 and RMAN-10024.
