Already another rac database is running successfully on this machine through ASM. We are trying to use the same ASM instance for this single instance database. When I tried using dbca it was not reading the current ASM instance. Instead it was trying to create new instance. Thats y I was forced to create new DB manually.
Kindly help in resolving this issue.

I found http://wesunsolve.net/bugid.php/id/6595253 that is a bug of mkfs without workaround. Is ZFS what I need now?

Well, to fix the bug you referred to you can apply patch 141444-01 or 141445-01.
However that bug is just regarding an irrelevant error message from mkfs, it will not fix your problem as such.
It seems to me like the minimum value for nbpi on a multi-terabyte filesystem is 1048576, hence you won't be able to create a filesystem with more inodes.
The things to try would be to either create two UFS filesystems, or go with ZFS, which is the future anyway ;-)

  • Error while exporting : ORA-24801: illegal parameter value in OCI lob funct

    hello,
I am doing an export on a 10.2.0.4 , solaris machine.
The table i am doing an export has a blob & clob.
During the export I get the error :
    EXP-00056: ORACLE error 24801 encountered
ORA-24801: illegal parameter value in OCI lob function
In metalink it was given : Check every parameter in the OCI Lob function call to make sure they
are correct. Offsets should be greater than or equal to one.
Where should I check for that OCI Lob function. Or is there any other alternative to do the export.
    Thanks for any help.

I have increased the space on the mount I was doing the export and that solved the problem.
    Thanks

I am using OWB 10gR2 and DB 10gR2. I am getting the following error while executing the mapping,

Can anybody please tell me solution,

    Hi Siva
It may be that you've taken care of null value in just one place and now, the error is coming
from somewhere further down the line.

    Thanks,

    Hi,
First of all: when you should use concatenation operator (||) instead of plus sign when working with strings. So, instead of
    :CF_CREDIT:= :D_CARRY_F_CR+:D_HD_SUM_REP_CR; you should use
:CF_CREDIT:= :D_CARRY_F_CR||:D_HD_SUM_REP_CR; If :D_CARRY_F_CR and :D_HD_SUM_REP_CR are both numbers then consider to use to_char function before you assign value to :CF_CREDIT.
I wonder, why your CF's returns varchar's if they operates on numbers?

ORA-39001: invalid argument value, could be because of the db_link (is not seen by the owner of the code, by the schema which has the rights to run the code).

  • Error ORA-06502, numeric or value error character to number conversion

I have been trying to create an email including data from a table as part of the body. Whenever I try to send it, I get an error ORA-06502, numeric or value error, character to number conversion. This is important to my company to be able to put this data into an email. If anyone can help me, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you in advance.

Lets isolate the erroring line by running the code in debug mode and adding some debug lines at various stages in the code
Apex has a builtin function named wwv_flow.debug which can print messages to the debug stack and would be visible when the page is run in debug mode.

  • OPC fieldpoint VT_BOOL gives "Bad Value" in Citect

We run Citects OPC-client and tries to communicate with the Fieldpoint OPC-server. Analog values AI/AO work all fine but DIO-550 I/O-values do not. The data type is VT_BOOL. The error message is "Bad value". The client can be configured to skip "bad value"-error. That solves DO but not DI.
Testing Macs OPC-client gives same problem.
Our Fieldpoint OPC-server works fine with NI Server Explorer and the Citect and Macs clients works fine with other OPC-servers!
Please someone give us a hint of what to do.

  • Checkbox and ORA-20507: Invalid numeric value #:# for column

    Hi All,
I'm facing problems Checkboxes in a form.
I created a form and report on a table. one of the fields on the form is a checkbox and when ever I want to create a new record or update with more than one value for the checkkbox I obtain the following error:
ORA-20507: Invalid numeric value #:# for column COLUMN_NAME Where by #:# is numbers
I think the error occurs at the processes of get_pk and process_row_of_......
how should I change the processes to accommodate the checkbox values.
    Kind regards

  • JDBC receiver error - ORA-00913: too many values

    Hi all,
Facing a strange issue with proxy-jdbc issue.
Message fails with error - ORA-00913: too many values
Handling the missing fields from the source with - Empty String in the comm. Channel
Empty string handling works fine - whenever there is no value coming form souce, null is inserted into the field value on the DB.
Trying to insert the same data manually, it works fine. But gives this error END2END.
When testing END2END, if the field values are made couple of chars less in length, that works fine....fails with the actual data.....seems to be the issue with the field lenghts on the DB.
Increased all the lengths by 10 chars..still does not work.
Except the key fields of the DB table, all others are nullable.
Is there anything else, I am missing...
Note: Generally, ORA-00913: too many values comes when the number of fields and the number of values donot match in an INSERT/UPDATE statement.
    reg

Well the error you mention generally occurs when the insert statement has more fields mention than in the table .ie you are mentioning extra field .aur this error is due to the field lenght of any of the filed you had to check in the oracle itself  by using the command DESCRIBE there you ll be able to see the field lenght of each and every field .
hope your problem got resolved :
