ORA-27101 problem

Hi all,
The oracle sysdate time was not moving. It was constant so i have change the server time using
alter system fix_date='none'
afte shutdown of the server when i am trying to restart the server Oracle is giving an error like ORA-27101.
so please give me a solution to solve it and please can explain me why it happend?

Check your ORACLE_HOME & ORACLE_SID variable
AS well check the value of your pfile ( not spfile) restart you r DB with a right pfile
at least it's fixed_date, and alter system set fixed_date=none
Thanks to you Database forum for such a question; this is a beehive forum.

    Hi Wim
You should say that "It may be Control File problem", but you shouldn't say that "it's due to Control File" problem

    Hello Pankaj,
Try starting Oracle database from SQL plus using orasid as user and then start SAP
Refer to Note 491174 and perform all the tests as mentioned
You will be able to solve it
Let me know if it helps

My envinronment variable are correct, (including
ORACLE_SID) the db is up and running.
I don't know what else I could do now. BTW, what file
the system cannot find? the "2" file?????
Is there anyone that can help me?
    Thank you in advance.

Unfortunately this is NOT the "final solution" because I had already done all those modifications to the kernel parameters
    and still had the problem.
So, I agree with Rob: if you don't modify the kernel parameters
oracle won't work. But for me this wasn'sufficient: i.e. necesssary but not sufficient.
My little step was to modify the startup script
$ORACLE_HOME/bin/dbstart. Here I changed the line
    startup DBNAME
    with
    startup open DBNAME
Since then I haven't had any problem in starting oracle and
    connecting to it with sqlplus.
Perhaps I have found a solution without any intelligence of
    the problem...

  • Errors ORA-01034, ORA-27101 and ORA-01033

    Hi!
I have Oracle 9i DB and DevSuite 10g installed on my laptop. There are three databases on my machine.
Recently, I tried to install Oracle Discoverer 10g and that's where the problem started. I could no longer connect to the databse using either SQL*Plus, TOAD or even from the front end application.
I realised that some of the regisrty entries were no longer in place after the Discoverer installation. After doing these entries, I am still getting the following errors while connecting:
    ORA-01034 : Oracle not available
ORA-27101 : Shared memory realm does not exist
After doing the following entries in the registry, for the default database, I'm getting the 'ORA-01033 : Oracle Initialization or shutdown in progress' error while connecting for that particular db:
    ORACLE_SID=DTA
    ORA_DTA_AUTOSTART=TRUE
    ORA_DTA_SHUTDOWN=TRUE
    ORA_DTA_SHUTDOWN_TIMEOUT=30
    ORA_DTA_SHUTDOWNTYPE=i
And for the other two DBs, the errors ORA-01034, ORA-27101 remain the same.
    Can anyone please help?
    Best regards,
    Aparna

Have you checked your Windows services for the Oracle instances? Started and set to auto-start on boot.
Also check your $path variable to make sure the Oracle home(s) appear in the path

  • (HELP) ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist

    Contributors,
I am a newbie in Oracle and have oracle database installed and working as expected until few days ago. One day i was getting these ugly messages when connecting via SQLplus
    ERROR:
    ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist
    Process ID: 0
Session ID: 0 Serial number: 0I did some searches on this topic but haven't found solutions.
    * Some suggested to check[b] environment variables ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID : my ORACLE_HOME is fine, and i DO NOT have ORACLE_SID on the day i realize the problem.
I am not sure if ORACLE_SID variable is usually exist when my database was up and running. So i set ORACLE_SID yet did not help.
    * Some said check if the required services are running :
    - OracleOraDb11g_home1TNSListener : RUNNING
    - OracleServiceORCL : RUNNING
    * Other said that they have the same problem, but everything back to normal after several hours without anything configured / changed (miraculous)
    * I tried to restart or shut down, but no luck
    * In the same thread few days ago, Vlado helped me with suggestion to acces ADRCI and type SHOW PROBLEM also SHOW INCIDENT
but the reply is DIA-48494: ADR home is not set, the corresponding operation cannot be done* Other implied to check the .ora files in NETWORK\ADMIN. I will post it (TNSNAMES.ORA, LISTENER.ORA, SQLNET.ORA) after this.
My platform and some info :
    * OS : MS Windows Vista Ultimate
    * Oracle Database 11g Release 1 (11.1.0.6.0) Enterprise/ Standard Edition for Microsoft Windows 32-bit
Mostly i used SQLplus and SQLdeveloper, for developing procedures/ functions/ packages in Oracle Spatial.
Also, am running it in one laptop (server and client altogether).
There is only one database in the Laptop (no other oracle database).
How to fix this ? Please kindly help me.
    Many thanks in advance,

C *** ERROR => CONNECT failed with sql error '1034'
The ORA-27101 error is generated when the shared memory key generated by the client does not match any currently existing keys. This is to be expected if the ORACLE_HOME or ORACLE_SID used by the client is not the same as that used when starting up the database.
    Perform the following:
    1) Check these environment variables and if required set them appropriately.
    2) Review the listener.ora currently used to startup the listener and verify the ORACLE_HOME value is correct for all listed Oracle databases. If the ORACLE_HOME points to a different Oracle version then what was used when the database was created, then this error can occur.
    3) Likewise, review the listener.ora currently used to startup the listener and verify the SID_NAME value is correct and has the right value (the SID_NAME is case sensitive).
Also check Metalink Doc ID: 167252.1 (ORA-27101: Shared Memory Realm Does Not Exist).

    Subhajit.

  • ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist - Oracle9i

I installed Oracle9i on Windows 2000 Professional OS. Before installing Oracle9i, I uninstalled 8.1.7 using the uninstall option in Oracle9i and cleaned up the registry entry as well. I uninstalled Oracle 8.1.7 ( product ) and not the database that was created and running on Oracle8.1.7. During my Oracle9i install I installed a new database. After the install was complete the new database connects fine, but the database that was created using 8.1.7 does not connect. My listener is running and the tnsnames.ora has the entry for both the databases. The services menu on Windows shows that the database is up and running. I am not able to connect to the database created by oracle8.1.7 using Oracle9i, using SQL*PLUS.
SQL*PLUS throws the following error message :
    ERROR:
    ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist
I checked the trace files and oracle suggests me to open this database with migrate option.
Does anyone know the related command or where I can find a fix or documentation for this problem ?
All I am trying is to bring up a database that was created by a prior Oracle Version and I am not successful.
    Thanks,
    Nithy-

    Try below steps :
    sqlplus /nolog
    connect / as sysdba
    select status from v$instance
I guess the instance/database is not open.

  • ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist on Mac OS X

I know there have been quite a few postings on this topic already. However, my situation appears different since I am attempting to run Oracle 9i Developer Version R2 on a Mac with OS X 10.3.3.
After I create a database and try to connect to it using sqlplus, I see the error messages:
    ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist
Mac OS X Error: 2: No such file or directory
The database seems to be mounted correctly and the listener seems to be running.
I have followed the various advice on bouncing the database but nothing seems to help. Does anybody who may have experienced the same problem have any thoughts or suggestions?
It seems the problem has to do with my SID or hostname perhaps but I cannot figure out where the exact problem lies.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • ORA-12560 problem while installing 8.1.7

I have a HP Netserver LC2000 with 256MB RAM and Windows 2000 Server with Terminal Services enabled. I downloaded a trial copy of the Oracle 8i3 (8.1.7) database from the OTN website and tried to install it. I have to mention that I tried a TYPICAL install on the machine console, not from a remote terminal client. And I had a problem.
Universal Installer copied all the files and invoked the optional parts configuration. Then it configured network successfully, it configured Apache web server successfully, but it halted for a long while trying to make the starter database and resulted with error. I clicked Retry and again the same.
The I cancelled and the installation finished as if successful, but without the database and its service. When I try svrmgrl from command prompt I get an ORA-12560 error.
When I try to invoke the DBCA (database configuration assistant) by myself it fails to create either a typical or a custom specified database (I suppose it's the same problem).
Anyone has any thoughts on this?
    null

    When you create the service
    and start it, everything should
work just fineActually it doesn't. I uninstalled Terminal Services, and maybe because of that, and maybe because of something else, I managed to create a customized database with the Database Configuration Assistant. So, now the problem is solved partly. When I run
    svrgrml
it starts and I can connect to the database.
But if I try to connect from another PC, I can't get through. I get these messages:
    ORA-01034: Oracle not available
The help says that SGA was not started, then how am I able to connect local, and also it says to check the next message, which is:
ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist
Cause: Unable to locate shared memory realm.
Action: Verify that the realm is accessible.
BUT!!!! This is is located in the help files under Unix messages!!?!?!?! I have installed it under Linux and I know where and how and what to check for SHM parameters. But under Windows2000?!!?
    I'm confused.

  • Help with error:"ora-27101 shared memory realm does not exist"

    Hello friends of the forum:
I would like to help me with a question imortante I am very new to this aspect of oracle:
And install Oracle 11g on win "view" and followed the steps in the installation of l at the start page www.oracle.com funcionava all fine, but after a month of any change:
The database does not start qe and get an error "ora-27101 shared memory realm does not exist".
At first and solved momentarily reboot oracle service ...... but after a while does not work but I can not conextar to leave the base because this errror ......
The database is a lapto instalao .... and I have 100gb of free space and 4 gb of memory do not understand why this happens .....
I have to do so you can have acces oracle based ...
I can help with this problem .... thanks ....
I like to see that show me with pictures as I am new in this aspect of oracle .... and want to learn it .... thank you very much

    Hello friend..
The error you are getting *"ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist"* may be coz you are trying to connect to your database which is already shutdown not as sysdba user but as some other user, becoz of which you are getting this error. It sometimes happen that the service of the database is already started but when you try to connect to a shutdown database as users other then sys even having the DBA priviledges you cannot connect to database.
Try to connect as SYS user hope your problem will be resolved.

  • ORA-01034 and ORA-27101 on Redhat 8.0

    Hello,
I have installed Oracle 9.2.0 in Linux RedHat 8.0.I could solved all the problems with the installation but when I try to run sqlplus: there are two errors
    ORA-01034
    ORA-27101
I would like to know how can I resolve this.
    Thanks.
    Sorry for my bad english
I'm spanish so my english isn't very good
If you can I would like the answer in spanish ;)

the error messages are telling you that either
    1) you do not have a running database OR
    2) you have not set your ORACLE_SID
    Set your ORACLE_SID
    export ORACLE_SID=mySIDname
    then sqlplus '/ as sysdba'
    startup
this should get the instance running if it is not already.
if you get a message stating that you cannot startup an already running instance, then you have corrected option 2 just by setting your ORACLE_SID
you should be OK at this point

    Hi,
Please run the following commands and check which objects are corrupted in the database.
RMAN> backup validate check logical database
    SQL > SELECT e.owner, e.segment_type, e.segment_name, e.partition_name, c.file#
    , greatest(e.block_id, c.block#) corr_start_block#
    , least(e.block_id+e.blocks-1, c.block#+c.blocks-1) corr_end_block#
    , least(e.block_id+e.blocks-1, c.block#+c.blocks-1)
    - greatest(e.block_id, c.block#) + 1 blocks_corrupted
    , null description
    FROM dba_extents e, v$database_block_corruption c
    WHERE e.file_id = c.file#
    AND e.block_id <= c.block# + c.blocks - 1
    AND e.block_id + e.blocks - 1 >= c.block#
    UNION
    SELECT s.owner, s.segment_type, s.segment_name, s.partition_name, c.file#
    , header_block corr_start_block#
    , header_block corr_end_block#
    , 1 blocks_corrupted
    , 'Segment Header' description
    FROM dba_segments s, v$database_block_corruption c
    WHERE s.header_file = c.file#
    AND s.header_block between c.block# and c.block# + c.blocks - 1
    UNION
SELECT null owner, null segment_type, null segment_name, null partition_name, c.file#
    , greatest(f.block_id, c.block#) corr_start_block#
    , least(f.block_id+f.blocks-1, c.block#+c.blocks-1) corr_end_block#
    , least(f.block_id+f.blocks-1, c.block#+c.blocks-1)

    FROM dba_free_space f, v$database_block_corruption c
