Ora-31437: duplicate change set

Hi,
I am getting ora-31437 when creating change sets of the same name across different CDC publisher, sharing the same tablespace.
Can there no two change sets with the same name, even if they are owned by different schema's ?
I am using 10.2.02. db.
Method to create change set is:
dbms_cdc_publish.create_change_set(
change_set_name => 'TEST_CHANGE_SET',
description => 'Test change set',
change_source_name => 'HOTLOG_SOURCE',
stop_on_ddl=>'n',
begin_date=>sysdate,
end_date=>null);
Thx,
Rakesh

I also tried it in 11g . but again i got same error . Is this a bug or i have a mistake ?
for example after execute
BEGIN
DBMS_CDC_PUBLISH.alter_change_set(
change_set_name => 'SCOTT CHANGES',
recover_after_error => 'y',
remove_ddl => 'Y',
enable_capture => 'y'
END;
i have in my alert log :

  • Error Oracle Mobile ORA-30023 Duplicate undo tablespace specification

    Hi,
    I have the following mobile application (Oracle Mobile 10g R3):
    - Win32 (Forms 6i) App.
    - snapshots (12 updateable, 36 read-only)
    I have a successfully compilation of my form connected to the mobile database. However when I put a value over a textitem, my WHEN-VALIDATE-ITEM trigger send me an error:
    ORA-30023 Duplicate undo tablespace specification
    How can I solve this???, It seems like there is a parameter that I have to change.
    The WHEN-VALIDATE-ITEM trigger only has a basic select over a "readonly" table.
    Please help.
    Regards,
    Santiago

    I think the problem is the following,
    I need to convert a date to julian format, example:
    to_char(sysdate,'j')
    The problem is that it seems like Oracle Mobile connot support this kind format convertion.
    So, How can I get the number of days between 01-jan-4712 BC and other date????
    I found this function TO_DATE('-4712-01-01', 'SYYYY-MM-DD'), but it doesn´t works on Oracle Mobile.
    If someone have any idea about how can I get the number of days between 01-jan-4712 BC and other day without using the format 'SYYYY'......please help

  • Insufficient privileges while creating change set.

    Hi,
    I'm trying to setup CDC in Async Distributed HotLog mode with source 9i (9.2.0.7) and stage 10.2 database. Change source was created successfully, but when i run DBMS_CDC_PUBLISH.CREATE_CHANGE_SOURCE it gives error
    ORA-01031: insufficient_privileges
    ORA-09512: at "SYS.DBMS_CDC_PUBLISH", line 560
    It does create the propagation on source db for this change set and then gives this error. I'm following the chapter 16 of data warehousing guide to set it up. Have checked all privileges and I can't seem to figure this out. Has anyone faced something similar? what am i missing here?
    Regards.
    Ali

    Hi Ali,
    I had the same thing with plain Streams (dbms_streams_adm.add_Table_rule).
    The user with wich you set it up should have DBA role (that's somehow the requirement from Oracle, I would rather see some specific system-privileges in stead of having the whole DBA role to be granted). Another thing is that I wanted to create a package with functionality to setup my Streams environment. But in then the first time you would add table or schema rules, it creates the Capture or Apply process. And for that you need specific rights that are granted through the DBA role. But the Oracle rights-implementation prevents privileges granted via a Role to be used in a stored pl/sql-procedure. To be used in a stored-procedure you need the specific rights granted directly. That's another reason I'm not fond of the requirement of having to grant the DBA role.
    So grant the DBA role to your user, if not done allready, or if you use a stored procedure to setup your cdc then do the first call directly from an sqlplus script and not within your stored pl/sql code. Subsequent calls can then be made from your stored-procedure.

    2. taking compressed incremental backup with maxsetsize as unlimited.
    3. taking compressed incremental backup with maxpiecesize value as 20G/40G/80G/120G and maxsetsize as unlimited.

    The database is on Linux system and we are taking the RMAN backup on mounted Windows NTFS disk.
    The remaining space on NTFS system 1.7TB and the total database size 850GB. Used size by database is 500GB.

    Hi,
    First get the backup piece size its trying to allocate for file "/home/oracle/DBBACKUP/Oracle10g1/Full_Backup/DB_Backup_201401128366598241"
    = 12839996*16384
    = 210370494464/1024/1024/1024
    =195.9GB
    Its trying to allocate ~196GB for the file.
    1. Make sure the RMAN backup piece won’t exceed the O/S permitted filesize limit.
    2. But we can restrict the RMAN backup piece using the MAXPIECESIZE option.
    You restricted it to 120GB but actual requirement to allocate backup piece file is ~196GB.
    I think you need to change the MAXPIECESIZE and give it a try.
    Please update if it succeeded or failed.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Gayu

    You should recreate a new database and use export/import to transfer data from the existing UTF8 database to the new ISO 8859-6 database according to the ]Globalization Guide.

  • How to change set type attribute of a product

    Hi ;
    I created additional fields for products by using "COMM_ATTRSET". It created a table and functions but I dont know how to change this additional attributes.I cant use these attribute set functions because i dont know fragment_id yet. I think there must be a function encapsulates them.
    Is there any BAPI to change set type attributes?
    PS: In forums , I found an FM "COM_PRODUCT_MAINTAIN_MULT_API" but I think it hasnt been used anymore in CRM7.0
    Thanks

    Thanks for your reply ;
    but FM 'COM_PRODUCT_UI_MAINTAIN' doesnt have any generic import parameters to send my data to it in form of  newly created attribute set type table "ZPRODUCT".
    I want to set some fields of ZPRODUCT and i need to send them in this structure,  this table has column FRG_ID , if you set an additional  parameter for the first time , it generates new GUID..I think  'COM_PRODUCT_UI_MAINTAIN'  generates this GUID but i dont know how to use it.
    Can you give an example about using this FM?

  • Not Allowing "Next Patch" To Change Set

    I'm trying to solve a simple problem with MainStage 3.  I've got a number of sets with multiple patches in each, and I want to be able to switch back and forth between patches within sets without the danger of accidentally switching sets, since each set is on an individual click track.  I've mapped different keys to change patches and to change sets, but if I get to the last patch within a set I'd like the key that cycles to the next patch to not do anything.
    Basically, I want to switch sets only by using the key mapped to do specifically that, and I'd like the keys mapped to change patches not to have the ability to move from set to set.  Is this possible?

    See:
    *Firefox/Tools > Options/Preferences > Advanced > General : Accessibility : [ ] "Warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload the page"
    The setting in "Tools > Options > Advanced > General" is meant as an accessibility feature, as you can see by the label of that section, so that people with disabilities or people who use screen readers do not get confused and is not meant as a safety protection to stop redirecting.

  • ORA-13223: duplicate entry for string in SDO_GEOM_METADATA table and

    I got the above error while trying to insert a record into the table SDO_GEOM_METADATA. However, when querying this table I did find any duplicate table_name, column_name pair that match with the error.
    Here are the steps that I worked on:
    1. Add a geometry column into an existing table.
    ALTER TABLE GEO_MAP ADD (ORG_GEOM mdsys.sdo_geometry);
    2. Register the new column into mdsys
    insert into USER_SDO_GEOM_METADATA

    I got the error ORA-13223: duplicate entry for string in SDO_GEOM_METADATA table even there was no such record in there.

    According to the documentation:
    SEED_COL_USAGE ProcedureThis procedure iterates over the SQL statements in the specified SQL tuning set, compiles them and seeds column usage information for the columns that appear in these statements.
    Syntax
    DBMS_STATS.SEED_COL_USAGE (
    sqlset_name IN VARCHAR2,
    owner_name IN VARCHAR2,
    time_limit IN POSITIVE DEFAULT NULL);>
    It looks like you need to provide a SQLSET_NAME and OWNER_NAME to use this procedure correctly, to which you've provided NULLs. I don't see any exceptions in the documentation that indicate special processing when NULLs are provided.

    Dear Niranjan
    the WWI design of a cover letter is very "company" specific. In most cases data like:
    - which material number was "delivered" is shown e.g. with material text
    - some contact adress data from the company shipping the MSDS is shown
    etc.
    Most of the information printed are retrieved using a parameter symbol. Some data might come from information in CVD1; some data is retrieved by using the data from CVD1; e.g. Customer adress information etc. (here data is retrieved from business partner information)
    The parameter symbols you are showing are "standard"; therefore you can use option of Ralph to try to identify the "source" of the data as retrieved.
    There are not many threads related to cover letter topic in this FORUM; I believe not more than 10 threads are related to this topic. I participated in discussion of one of these threads; i was not able to find the thread; sorry
    Only as a hint: don't only concentrate on WWI design; identify as well how you need to "link" the cover letter to a specific "process"; this is done via customizing; e.g. refer to the SDS distribution OSS in which the whole SDS process is described; the process is described well how to "link" the cover letter to a shipment process
    Topic is explained on "very" high level here:
    Cover Sheet Template (DBV) - Basic Data and Tools (EHS-BD) - SAP Library
    So I believe the best option is to us the proposal of Ralph and trying to understand the standard symbols etc.
    C.B.
    PS: after oce again trying to find additional threads I found only these:
    Coverletter - Output of material data
    Parameter Symbols not appearing in Coversheet and/or Acknowledgement Receipt

  • ORA-00399: corrupt change description in redo log

    Hello!
    I have big problem on database startup:
    ORA-00283: recovery session canceled due to errors
    ORA-00399: corrupt change description in redo log
    ORA-00353: log corruption near block 12044 change 465202853 time 12/09/2008
    22:00:20
    ORA-00312: online log 4 thread 1: '/oradata/orcl/temp/redo04.log'
    I have only one member in each redolog group.
    Have I any chance to recover database?

    Recreating a controlfile does not help in case of a corrupt logfile. Issue
    'select group#,status,archived,sequence#,first_change# from v$log;' to get the status of the corrupted logfile. If 'status' = INACTIVE you are lucky, you can clear the group:
    alter database clear <unarchived> logfile group n; (use 'unarchived' when 'archived' shows 'NO') .
    If 'status' = ACTIVE try 'alter database checkpoint;', if this command executes successfully, logfile gets status INACTIVE and again you can clear the logfile, if not you have to handle the logfile as CURRENT.
    If 'status' = CURRENT you must do an incomplete recovery up to the latest usable SCN:
    restore database until scn <first_change#_of_current_logfile>;
    recover database until scn <first_change#_of_current_logfile>;
    alter database open resetlogs;

  • ORA-00957: duplicate column name

    When I am enableversioning of a table, I get following error messages:
    SQL> execute dbms_wm.enableversioning('transcript');
    BEGIN dbms_wm.enableversioning('transcript'); END;
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-00957: duplicate column name

    ORA-06512: at "SYS.LT", line 7181
    ORA-06512: at line 1
    I checked the column name that will be add by dbms_wm package and did not see any column which would cause this problem.
    Could some one give me the list of reserved column names for dbms_wm package?
    Thanks
    Ashley

    Ashley
    These are some the reserved words used by OWM in its internal views. These can also conflict on enable versioning
    statements.
    RIDCHILD RIDBASE RIDPARENT CHILDSTATE PARENTSTATE BASEDS CHILDDS PARENTDS
    FIRSTCHILDVER CHILDVER PARENTVER POS RID VERSION NEXTVER DELSTATUS
    LTLOCK
    In the release after 9iR2, we have augmented reserved words with a prefix that will commonly not conflict with
    user schema column names.
    Let me know if you were able to identify the reserve word conflict.
