Hi All,
I am trying to rezise a datafile and getting the ORA-3297 error.
From the dynamic views i verified that there is more than 10GB of freespace in INDEX_TB tablesapce which contains only one datafile whose present size is > 19 GB
alter database datafile '/data/oracle/oradata/testdb/INDEX_TB.dbf' resize 17G;
ORA-3297:file contains used data beyond requested resize value.Oracle 10.1.0 on AIX 5.3

Here i got an odd situation. According to the dynamic views there are 56 or 60 % are free in DATA_TB & INDEX_TB tablespace.
But sql from Doc 130866.1 gives the output as below. I tried coalesce tablespace but no effect.
Tablespace: DATA_TB Datafile:
/data/oracle/oradata/testdb/DATA_TB.dbf
Can not be resized, no free space at end of file.

I have dropped many big tables after moving on another database, what i thought it will free the space of the disk because right now there is no provision to extend the disk size and disk size have already occupied 90%. I dropped tables which had 150 GB total size but when i am trying to resize the datafiles it is giving below error whereas that datafile has free space ( example: free space 8000mb and total size 20000mb of that file i tried to resize it to 14000mb it is giving below error)
I tired the same for many datafiles for a particular tablespace all datafiles are giving same error except one of them.

ThanksThis error occurs when some object has blocks "adjacent" to the High Water Mark.
In order to RESIZE, the object needs to be identified & then moved;
preferably to a different tablespace.
After do so you can RESIZE at least a modest amount.

The backup file contains unrecognized data and cannot be used

I am trying to restore files from an NT back up on a SBS 2003. The backup was taken on this machine and trying to restore to the same. I get this error: The backup file contains unrecognized data and cannot be used.
I tried copying it to a different machine with no luck. Any suggestions?

Hi,
Since the backup file cannot be restored on a different machine, the backup file could be corrupt. You need to use some third party recovery utilities to restore the backup file.

Backup File Contains Unrecognized Data

"Backup File Contains Unrecognized Data and Cannot be Used" Yesterday, i got this error message when i was trying to restore BKF files through NTBackup tool. I tried again and again but it occurs same error message repeatedly.
Is there any way or tool that can solve my problem?

What operating system is the
destination server you tried to restore, Windows Server 2008 R2 or other operating systems?
According to the following link, the Windows NT Backup - Restore Utility is not fully compatible with Windows Server 2008 R2.

If this is the case, please try to restore them to a Windows Server 2003 computer and copy the data out.
If the operating system is not Windows Server 2008 R2, please try to repair the .bkf files with third party tool, such as “Repair My Backup”.

Numbers 2.1 when exported as an excel file and my application tries opening it, it says file contains corrupt data.

I recently updated my iPad to the latest iOS 7 and updated my numbers app to 2.1. When i export it to a excel file and then when my C# application(using gembox library) tries reading it, i would get an error "file contains corrupt data". before making the update to iOS 7 and before updating my numbers the process worked fine!

That didn't work for me and the page times out right about 5
minutes (300 seconds). I don't have timeout checked in the CF
Administrator so I don't think it is CF that is causing the
timeout. I checked IIS also and the timeout is set to 900 seconds.
Is there a possibility that SQL Server has some sort of
connection limit and I'm using too many cfquery tags? If anyone has
experienced a similar problem I would really appreciate the help,

Hello. We have a LabVIEW program that reads in test steps and data in order to execute a test sequence. Recently we had to apply Retina and Gold Disk security patches in accordance with DOD security policies. Now we are getting the following error:

LabVIEW: File contains erroneous data. Normally for user data files.
We have not changed the code or files that the program is reading in. My guess would be it is some sort of permission issue. However, we have given the user modify permission to the entire C drive, and still get this error. Does anyone have any ideas on what could be causing it? Thanks!

Do you have any backup copies of the files, by any chance? Is it possible the files were modified somehow (perhaps something extra was added when the new security measures were implemented)?
How is the file being accessed? Is it occurring on the local machine, or are the files accessed from a remote location?

Moving files by using date

i have my oracle installed on Linux.i want to move my trace files to backup directory.my trace files got generated irregularly.so that i need to move them my using the date they got generated so as to keep the recently generated files still in the present directory.
so need a command to move files by using date.

There are several ways of doing this.
If you want to do it all yourself, use the 'find' command. There's the 'ctime' switch (find based on creation date) and 'mtime' (find based on modification time)
You might want to look into logrotate (available on all unix and linx platforms).

I am having a problem with the error mentioned in the title. I see alot of others have experienced the same problem, but I have quite a twist to it.
I see the problem when I try to edit a list item, and then try to save the changes.
Here what I see in the ULS log:

I have 3 front end servers(fx wfe1, wfe2, wfe3). And here is the twist.
If I access the library directly through wfe1 and wfe2, I get the error. If I access the library via wfe3 if works just fine.
So because of this, I think it is safe to assume that is has nothing to do with the character limit of 255. Nor does it have anything to do with the field type, since it is already set to mulitible lines of text.
So. Any ideas?

To work around this issue, limit the length of the personal message in the invitation to 256 characters or less.

To solve the problem you may have to change the field's parent type to "note". To do that you have to open your fldtypes... file under Templates/xml and change the line to:
"<Field Name="ParentType">Note</Field>" from "<Field Name="ParentType">Text</Field>"
You might also have to add a sql type if your text needs to be longer than 255 characters
<Field Name=”SQLType”>ntext</Field>
and inherit from SPFieldMultiLineText instead of SPFieldText

How to get useful data from request?

I am looking for creating a management tool for a web site. All I want is that is there any ready to use API or package or open source project for retrieving user�s information? I just mean that is there any easy to use way in java to get useful data from a client (for example location, his or her system configuration and information �).

If you dump all the data from request (see the javadoc, and especially the "header methods" ) you'll see the data you can get are quite simple.
The only thing you can try to rely on are ;
- the IP address from the sender (when reversed to DNS, you can sometime use the tld to locate the country it comes from. Yet, you'll get many .com name, so it's not that significant. it may also give you the IAP used). Note that if the user is using a proxy, it's the proxy IP that you'll collect
- the User-Agent header : from this, you can guess the OS and the browser used
- the Referer header : usefull to get where your user comes from (where they found a link to your site)
- the Cookie header : if you're using a servlet container with session id stored in cookie, you should see the Cookie header appear on the second request to your site. That helps finding out wether your user accep cookie or not (from a server point).
Besides these, i don't think you can get any other useful data without asking your users on a form. Note that it's the client that decides to send Referer, User-Agent or Cookie headers. Those are not mandatory to the Http Protocole and some browser allow their user to fool their content (butmore than 90% of the widespread browsers don't)

Inbound CSV file containing the date in the name

I have a very small problem on the import file process.
I have configure a new SLD with the following pattern
pluton\edi\B1I_CCO\In\QC_ROUT_*.TXT (this is a DSV file).
I have defined a bizstep reading these files but the problem is that the file name contains the date.
I have read in the documentation that a function exists in B1i (page 14 of the Ref2).
So I have indicated as :
- Identification Method: File Name
- Identification Parameter : substring(filename,0,7)
- Identifier : QC_ROUT
But it does not work.
Do you notice something wrong in it?

Please find more explanation of using the "identification parameter" for file inbound in following segment:
Identification Method = u201C File Name u201D
The Scenario Step is subscribed to the incoming file in case the name of the file (without extension) is equal the string in the field Identifier. You can use the field Identification Parameter to define a substring. In this field you can define the position (e.g. 2) which triggers B1if to compare the filename from this position only or even position and length separated by comma (e.g. 2,3) which triggers B1if to compare this particular substring only. Sample: The file u201C test.xml u201D will trigger the Scenario Step in the following cases:
Identifier = u201C test u201D
Identifier = u201C est u201D and Identification Parameter = u201C 2 u201D
Identifier = u201C es u201D and Identification Parameter = u201C 2,2 u201D
please enter the following:
- Identification Method: File Name
- Identification Parameter : 1,7
- Identifier : QC_ROUT
De- and reactivate your scenario and it will be working as expected.

Reading file containing byte data

I am trying to read a file containing data that is in byte format. I can't look at the file and have no idea what is in there. For my first pass I would just like to see what the format is of the data in characters. Is there an easy way to do this? This is what I have done so far:

Which one is the character value of the bytes? I am assuming the char one, but it sure seems like funny values. Also, I want to read the whole line and then get the whole line converted, not just the first byte. Isn't getBytes just getting the first byte? How can I convert the whole line after it is read (f.readLine())?

Well, I tried that and it still gives me just the binary or byte data (I have no idea what kind it is - I know I can't read it when I try to open it with notepad). There is a current application that uses this file and opens it and provides the data when it is opened. I am trying to look thru that code to find out what it does, but it is very confusing. It is written in c.
Any other ideas out there as to how to open and display the correct data in a file like this? When I did the binary data open this is the kind of data I got:

Bursting entire report as a single file by using Data Template

Hi,
I have created a report by using data template, which consists of 3 queries.
Is it possible to burst the entire report in one single file? without splitting based on any criteria?
Something like I want to use a constant value key so that report will split into one file ONLY.

You are right in saying that I dont want to use the burst option.. but the problem with FTP delivery, is that I can't pass the date parameter in the file name. Only fixed single file name is provided there..
Work around for this is to use bursting option to pass corresponding parameter value in output file.
I'm facing the problem that by using data template source, I can't burst in enterprise edition based on SQL statement.

NEF files contain XMP data

I've just found a load of old NEF files with embedded XMP data, which seem to have been updated in July 2008. Many of them have Camera Raw settings in them too.
The files contain the string <x:xmpmeta xmlns:x="adobe:ns:meta/" x:xmptk="Adobe XMP Core 4.1-c037 46.282696, Mon Apr 02 2007 18:36:42 ">
Any idea how they could have got there? I thought the only software which would write to NEFs was made by Nikon.

Time to resurrect a three year old thread of mine.
I still have about 500 Nikon raw files "infected" with Adobe XMP data, and this might be causing indexing problems with Camera Raw and Bridge. So I'd like to cure the infection. Problem is, I'm not aware of any editors which will fully understand and write sensibly to NEF files. I just tried EXIFtool and it doesn't identify the dodgy data at all.
I tried a workaround a couple of years ago, which was laborious but seemed to help: I loaded each file into a binary file editor and changed the word "Lightroom" into "bightroom" and the word "Camera" into "bamera". Don't laugh, it was the quickest and easiest workaround I could come up with. The upshot was that each Adobe XMP "container" was then effectively hidden from Adobe software.
Now, it turns out, Camera Raw is still copying the "bogus" XMP data to the XMP sidecar, sensible or not. I guess it's being ignored, but I'm not so sure Bridge is so immune.
I think I've worked out that the infection was caused by Microsoft Pro Photo Tools (nice one, Microsoft), as the infected files also have a tag MicrosoftPhoto:Rating. I'm reluctant to download it again, in case it cocks up more photos, and my Windows installation too. Indded, it may not be able to reverse the action anyway.
I tried converting a file to DNG, but clearing metadata doesn't seem to touch the stuff originally embedded in NEF.
So, does anyone have any suggestions on how I might reverse-engineer a few NEF files, and chop out bogus XMP data?
