ORA-34612: Your program or expression uses too much execution space.

BIB-9509 Oracle OLAP did not create cursor.
oracle.express.ExpressServerExceptionError class: OLAPI
Server error descriptions:
DPR: Unable to create server cursor, Generic at TxsOqDefinitionManagerSince9202::crtCurMgrs4
OES: ORA-34612: Your program or expression uses too much execution space. Eliminate recursion or reduce the levels of nesting.

Any solution ?

Which version of the database are you using?
If you have created an OLAP DML program and are calling this program it is likely the program has become recursive and is just calling itself over and over again.

  • Ora XE (beta) uses too much disk space?

I've noticed that the size of my directory oraclexe/app/oracle/admin/XE/bdump is like 29 GB!
Is there any way to bring this down? I looked up in the admin web interface, but could'n figure it out, so I decided to ask the forum.
    Pete

    Hi Pete
Oracle's background processes write log and dump files in this directory.
You should have a program to purge old file
    Easy example (linux):
    find /usr/lib/oraclexe/app/oracle/admin/XE/bdump -mtime +7 -exec rm {} \;
    find /usr/lib/oraclexe/app/oracle/admin/XE/udump -mtime +7 -exec rm {} \;
find /usr/lib/oraclexe/app/oracle/admin/XE/adump -mtime +7 -exec rm {} \;(files older then 7 days are deleted)
    Greetings

  • Extra user folder using too much disk space

I was having the low memory available error so I deleted all unused programs ( garage band etc) I moved pics on a flash drive then deleted them ( and emptied the trash) (but whats odd is I put 6+ GB on the flash drive but only recovered 2-3 GB ?)
anyway I was looking to see where all my space is and I found the users folder that has a lot of folders that look like archives of my disk, the newest one has my recent desktop and photos etc, why are these here? they take up to 14 to 35 GB each!
    can I delete them?
they have all the pics and movies I thought I deleted ( as well as garage ban app)
so when I look at the info section they all say they where created on the same day- march 18th which is the day I stupidly re-named by home, I eventually put the old name back and copied the created archive back in home and I thought all was well. since then the only thing I have noticed is a slow start up ( after log in password. Is it looking for the folder that takes so long?
I have file vault turned on.
sorry this is long and confusing, I am new to this type of thing- I am off warranty also
here is pic of the user folders listed ( at the bottom that can't be seen is my home folder):
    http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/ii43/luckydogblue/other/screengrab.jpg

BDAqua, sort-of, when I realized what I did, I found the copy that was made when I changed it of my original home folder ( Sean) then, I renamed the (new) home back to Sean and moved the files from Sean into it, as I said it appeared to be back to normal ( that was March). I didn't name it Sean_new- is that my problem?
Then last week I noticed the available kb was zero ( I didn't notice if it was getting lower since March). I can't remember what else I might of done before it was fix back in march. it appears to be making copies of home at every log in that is new.
I know at least one of the duplicate user folders is that copy that was archived when I renamed home
here is pic of one of the new user folders from the get info:

I hope this helps, I am trying to be descriptive as possible.

  • OIM 11g using too much memory and not releasing it when shutting down

    Hello,
we have a problem with OIM 11g using too much memory (about 5gb) and it's not releasing it at shutdown (4gb still used).
We are using a VM with RedHat Linux 5.6. Originally we had 4gb RAM + 2gb swap file. We installed Admin Server, OAM, OIM and SOA on that machine but quickly realised we couldn't run all 4 programs at once in 6gb. AdminServer could run with 2 other products, but it was a tight fit in memory.
So we increased the RAM to 8gb (still 2gb swap file). But then our problem occured : I start the Admin Server (2.7gb total memory used), then OAM (4.6gb total memory used) and then OIM. After it started the server is now using 9.6gb of memory (~300mb of free memory) ! The problem gets even better : after I shut down everything (OIM, OAM, admin server) the "top" command show that there is still 4gb of memory used even tho nothing else is running on the server ! There is absolutely no other process (other than root stuff) running and no other users connected to the machine. After a reboot, it shows 400mb of memory used. I tried restarting the programs and it did the same thing.
Our intuition is that there might be a memory leak or some bug in OIM that might use up almost all the free memory and it's not releasing it upon shutdown. It might have been there before we increased the memory but have not noticed it since memory was already tight.
Anyone encountered the same problem ? Any idea ? Any suggestion to narrow down the problem ?
    Thank you

You can adjust the memory settings for WLS by editing the setSOADomainEnv.sh file that can be found in your /middleware/user_projects/domains/<domain>/bin/ folder. There is an argument called PORT_MEM_ARGS which is used to set your Java memory arguments. This way you can decrease/increase the amount of memory used by each managed server.
I usually type "ps -ef | grep oracle" to see what processes are running by the oracle user. This way the output doesn't get cluttered with root processes.

  • Firefox uses too much ram

My FIrefox has been using too much RAM as of late. I have followed all the steps in the firefox support page about checking for possible plugins that may or may not be using too much RAM, but after starting firefox in safe mode, there really wasn't much of a difference. Maybe like 5k kb less, but it's still not enough to account for the 1.7million kb that firefox ends up using with one tab open.
I like to leave my pc on for a bit, and sometimes I'll leave firefox running with a tab open while I'm using other applications, but even if i restart my firefox, the RAM usage does not decrease. After closing all applications and leaving only firefox running, it appears to be around 1.5million kb. Only if i restart my whole pc does the RAM usage drop back to normal levels, and then it ramps back up after a period of time.
I would like to get this resolved soon, or at least figure out the cause of this.

Start your Computer in safe mode with networking. See if there
    is still a problem.
It could be the work of one of your add-ons, or even add / mal-ware.
Look thru your add-ons list and make sure you know what each one is
there for. Also, check the programs that are on your computer
'''Windows > Start > Control Panel > Uninstall Programs.'''
    '''Mac: Open the "Applications" folder'''
Go thru the list and use a web search to check any that you don't

  • MacBook Pro using too much RAM

I have  15" MacBook Pro, purchased in February, 2013.  It has 2.6 Ghz Intel i7 processor, 8 GB RAM and a 750 GB hard drive.  The HD is about 25% filled, mostly with photos.  It came with Mountain Lion, I upgraded to Mavericks, then to Yosemite.  I go back and forth between Safari and Chrome for my browser.  (I've heard Chrome uses too much memory, but I've found the opposite to be the case for my computer.)  All upgrades went smoothly, no problems.   I love using it, EXCEPT...
Over the past year, I've thought it was using too much RAM for very simple activities and it slows to a crawl using Aperture or MS Word.  Even when just web browsing, and nothing else open or running, the computer will use 6 to 7 gigs of available RAM.  Using Aperture is so slow it's no longer fun... I wait and wait for the beach ball to go away and it does, eventually (Won't need to worry about Aperture for too much longer, I guess).  I've been thinking about Lightroom to replace Aperture, but I'm worried that I will have similar problems with a new program.  Any suggested solutions?  Thanks!

    Hey danfrompeoria,
Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, you are using a lot of memory. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you isolate or resolve the issue.

  • Lacie "using too much power", USB disabled, can't access ext HD?

Last night, moving items to my Ext HD, i got an error message about the USB "using too much power" and then it disabled it.
    I'm using a 15'' 2006 Macbook with 10.6.7 operating system.
I've googled the issue and have run out of ideas.
The Ext HD is a 500GB LaCie Little Disk New Pack USB2.0 Black
    Restarted the macbook.
Booted the macbook into safe mode.
I've tried plugging something else into both my USB ports (it detected the item, a camera card reader) and was usable.
When I plug in my Lacie Ext HD now using its usb cord, the blue light on the Lacie flashes as if its detectable/inuse but there's nothing in my Mac menus showing access to it.
    HELP ?
    Error Message:
Because a USB device was drawing too much power from your computer, one or more of your usb devices have been disabled.
To prevent damaging your computer, the USB device drawing too much power has been disabled. Other devices may have also been disabled. When you disconnect the device drawing too much power, your other USB devices will be enabled again.

Maybe the disk will work through a separately powered USB Hub?

  • I can no longer charge my iPhone5 through either of my macbook pros. I get the error message that a USB device is using too much power. Can anyone help?

I can no longer charge my iPhone5 through either of my macbook pros. I get the error message that a USB device is using too much power. Can anyone help?

I reconnected the original powered hub that I thought probably caused the problem and this time it shut down the whole computer. When I rebooted everything now works perfectly. The system reset. I tried another powered hub and it didn't have the same effect so the old one is heading for the bin and with fingers crossed all systems are now working perfectly. Trying to reset PRAM or reset the SMC didn't work but causing the same power issue did. Thanks for your input though. It did get me to think what was the original cause.

  • HT4101 Has anyone found a way to download pictures from Samsung Gala               xy 3 phone to Ipad air?  I bought the lightning adapter but keeps giving me the message uses too much power.

Has anyone found a way to download pictures fro Samsung Galaxy 3 phone to the Ipad air? I bought the lightning adapter but I keep getting the message device uses too much power.  Any ideas?

You can't directly from a Galaxy phone.  But you can certainly upload the pictures from your Galaxy phone to your computer and then sync them to your iPad via iTunes.

  • Cannot charge iPhone 5 because USB is "using too much power"

Last night I tried charging my iPhone 5 on my MacBook Pro and everything went fine. However, when I tried to do the same thing today, every time I would plug my device in I would get an error message saying that the USB device is using too much power and has been disabled. Is there anyway to override this so that I can charge my phone?

It'll still carry the Apple warranty. My suggestion would be to bring your Macbook along and show them, even if you go to Verizon. You're better off at the Apple store anyway. If it turns out the cable isn't the problem, the diagnosis is free at the Genius Bar and one way or the other your problem should be fixed. Just make an appointment first.

  • Camera connection kit w/USB says cannot work uses too much power

When using the camera connection kit /USB the message cannot use device it uses too much power pops up!

What are trying to use it with ? If you are connecting it to your camera then does your camera have a setting on it to enable PTP (Picture Transfer Protocol, Pictbridge) or Mass Storage Device ? If you are trying to use a third-party card reader or a flash-drive with the kit to copy photos/videos over to the iPad, then a lot of them require more power than is supplied to the iPad's port - if you have a powered card reader or a single-card reader (i.e. not one that has different slots for different types of memory card) then that might have a better chance of working

When I connect using the USB option I get a screen on the ipad which says "Accessory Unavailable. The attached accessory uses too much power"

I believe your camera uses a micro SD card. The CCK accepts the full size SD card. Do you have a SD card adapter to plug the micro into?

  • HT4101 My ipad says the device uses too much power when I connect my camera

I brought my ipad 2 on holidays and have purchased the camera connection kit.  I tried to download my photos and an error message came up saying that the device uses too much power!    My ipad is powered up to 100% and I have closed any open files and it still says the same thing?  Does this actually work or do I have to return it?

What have you connected to the kit ? The amount of power that is supplied to the kit is limited, and can't be changed - and a lot of card readers and cameras need more power than is supplied to it. If you have connected the kit directly to your camera then does your camera have a setting to enable 'mass storage device' and/or PTP (picture trasnfer protocol or pictbridge) ?

  • Lightning to usb camera adapter saying attachment uses too much power

Can anybody help me please as I brought this cable and I get a message saying accessory unavailable or attachment uses too much power . Thanks in advance

If it's an Apple adapter, take it to an Apple store for replacement.
Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430

Do your cameras support Picture Transfer Protocol (PTP) and/or USB Mass Storage Device Protocol (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4106), and if so do you need to change a camera menu setting in order to enable it ?
