A little background about ORA-7445 much like Ora-600 Error
It's generic error most likely caused by a Bug.
If you can't obtain support from Oracle try to upgrade your Oracle version.
What is an ORA-7445 error?
An ORA-7445 error is raised by an Oracle server process when it has received a fatal signal from the operating system. The error may be raised in either a foreground or background process. The process will normally
write an error to the alert log
write a trace file in either user_dump_dest or background_dump_dest
create a core dump in core_dump_dest
There are many 'illegal' operations that the operating system can trap; a common example is a process writing to an invalid memory location. To protect the system, the offending process will be sent a fatal signal.
Typically, the signals seen are SIGBUS (signal 10, bus error) and SIGSEGV (signal 11, segmentation violation).
There are other UNIX signal and exception that may happen; However, they are likely cause by OS program than a Oracle problem.
Example of other signals are : SIGINT, SIGKILL, SIGSYS. A complete list is available at (Note 1038055.6
An ORA-7445 is a generic error, and can occur from anywhere in the Oracle code. The precise location of the error is identified by the trace file it produces. -
please find below errors which occer frequentily in my database
Errors in file d:\oracle\admin\opera\udump\opera_ora_3472.trc:

My Db version is 10.2.0.3
Please help to resolve such errors.
Thanks in adv.
Best regards,
BhavikDear Bhavik,
Point one:
1) You need to work on
600 is thrown while generating the trace file for 7445
so you need work on ora-7445
2) Please open the d:\oracle\admin\opera\udump\opera_ora_3472.trc
paste the call stack in this thread
3)
Also look for any TNS error in alert log
BTW, Are you from HYD?
Kind Regards,

Hi,
I have a specific problem on one notebook. It's a windows 2000 SP4. The installation log does not contain an obvious error message. But after installation, the database homepage doesn't start.
When looking in the alert file I find those ORA 7445 and ORA 472 errors. When starting up the database using sqlplus and stepping through nomount , mount, open, it seems that the database is running for a short period and then again ends up with the above errors.
Any ideas?Hi
ORA 7445 indicates that oracle has detected a core dump when attempting a particular operation. To identify a bug you need to look at the first argument after the 7445 error as this identifies the module where the exception was raised. Use this together with the stack produced to identify a bug if possible. The ORA-600/ORA-7445 Troubleshooter will help identify bugs known to core dump in the identified module. https://metalink.oracle.com/metalink/plsql/f?p=130:14:1905955764385093414::::p14_database_id,p14_docid,p14_show_header,p14_show_help,p14_black_frame,p14_font:NOT,153788.1,1,0,1,helvetica

As this is your PRODUCTION system THEN_ The best help to offer in case of ORA-600, and ORA-7445 is to open SR with metalink. Submit with the SR the following
1- Alert log
2- Trace files (in ur case e:\oracle\product\10.2.0\admin\orcl\udump\orcl_ora_6012.trc: and e:\oracle\product\10.2.0\em_2\rdbms\trace\orcl_ora_4756.trc:)
3- Describe what was happening when you had these errors.
Try to avoid free help when you have ORA-600 and ORA-07445. This errors could be becuase of BUGS. Oracle Support will know this from the call stack in the trace file.
Then Do your best to patch 10.2.0.4 and the latest CPU patch.
Good Luck -

ORA-02068: following severe error from db link
Hi,
I have the following piece of code which gives an error.
FOR items IN (SELECT DISTINCT item FROM ccm_items@caav_link a)
LOOP
itemtrans.process_item@manuf_link(items.item);
END LOOP;
Procedure process_item may take several hours to complete execution. Hence after processing one or two items, I get an error "ORA-02068: following severe error from caav_link
ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel"
I guess this occurs due to some timeout issue. Can you please give some pointers on why this issue occurs and how to avoid it? Also note that I need to use the same link after the loop. So a timeout could cause a problem there also.
Thanks,
BlessonMay be this link will be useful:

ORA-02068: following severe error from - How to handle the overgiven Except
Hello again ^^,
hope its okay to write the follwnig question into a new Thread...
I sometimes get errors from remote dbs.
ORA-02068: following severe error from DBLINK
ORA-01089: immediate shutdown in progress - no operations are permitted
ORA-02068: following severe error from DBLINK
ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channelThese are in one sqlerm. Is it possible to handle the second errors without string operations?
Thanks and regards
Edited by: user10283133 on 28.10.2008 08:33
Try to force the headlineThe remote db is accessible from 6 am to 6 pm. When querring longer than given time span I get the Error ORA-02068. In the sqlerm for this Error is a second Errormessage from an second different Error concatenated.
Now I will tell what I think is happening:
I think the remote db say: >>I will go sleep now<< an throws Error A (ORA-01089 (or ORA-03113, or what else)). This Error A goes to the local db. The local db get the Error A and throw a new Error (Error B = ORA-02068). This Error B is independet from Error A. And I see a String which is "Error B + Error A"
I recieve also three possible Errormessages:
ORA-02068: following severe error from DBLINK
ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel
ORA-02068: following severe error from DBLINK_ODS_STBY
ORA-01089: immediate shutdown in progress - no operations are permitted
ORA-02068: following severe error from DBLINK_ODS_STBY
ORA-whatelse: what elseI can handle the ORA-02068. But my questions is, can I handle the second Error (thus Error A) without string operations?
The Relase is 10g2. Please tell me which information you still need ...
Thank you very much.

ORA-02068: following severe error from dblink
Dear friends,
My database (oracle 9.2.0.8.0) will call another database's (oracle 9i cluster) view through DB Link to get some data.
If we are to access the data for the first time in a particular session, it gives the output within a second.
But if we access the data after 45mins in the same session(already connection is open), the query is running for 9 mins it throws an oracle error.
There is no network issue also(solaris 5.8 server).
select * from <synonym> where <column_name>=<Value>;
synonym is created in my database for remote database view (schema_name.view_name@dblink_name)
please find the Oracle error below:
