Oracle 10g XMLDB - how to ignore inline references to DTD

Is there a way to tell oracle XMLDB to ignore validating XML that has an inline DTD declaration? I'm just want to store the XML (as XMLType) in a column. All the XML's have an inline DTD declaration but I want to ignore it. Is there a way to tell oracle to do so?
Thanks in advance!

Hi,
I dont know sql server 2005. But by observing it I feel you are generating sql dynamically based on condition inside the proc.

    I do not know if I miss a library. Who can help me?
    Thanks
    Stefano

    This happened to me also when installing on Slackware (current, now 10.2). Whenever you get errors in the OUI during the link phase, you should also take a look at $ORACLE_HOME/install/make.log. Turns out that the shared library libagtsh.so wasn't build which caused the errors during the link phase. Oracle expects 'basename' to be in /bin. Furthermore I noticed that Oracle expects 'libgcc_s.so.1' to be in /lib. On Slackware I did the following to successfully install 10g Release 2:
    cd /bin ; ln -sf /usr/bin/basename basename
    cd /lib ; ln -sf /usr/lib/libgcc_s.so.1 libgcc_s.so.1 ; ln -sf libgcc_s.so.1 libgcc_s.so
    Hope this helps,

  • ORACLE 10g Reports- how to hide the parameter screen

    QUESTION:
    : I have a report that was designed in 6i. It has a parameter screen. Now I converted the report to 10g and pass parameters to the report from a form. Therefore the 6i parameter screen is not required. However, when I look into the report editor PAPER PARAMETER FORM icon, the old 6i parameter layout appears.
    HOW do I stop the 6i parameter screen from appearing? I dont need it anymore since the parameters are passed in from a form.

  • How to define tablespaces in Oracle 10g and how put tables on tablespaces

    Hello,
    I'm having trouble to define the structure of tablespaces and how to distribute the tables/indexes/lobs on these tablespaces.
    Do you know some rules on how to define this?
    What I have until now:
    1) Put table indexes in separate tablespace
    2) Put lobs in separate tablespace and use storage clause when defining the lob column. Not sure how many tablespaces to use, I have tables with millions of lobs and tables with just one lob (with row containing the lob).
    3) Please fill more rules here ...
    Thank you, Alex.

    Long story: I received database and schema creation scripts defined in Oracle 9i. I want to redesign the tablespaces number/storage and also to change the distribution of tables into tablespaces.
    As an example I will show how tablespaces are created now. There is one tablespace for indexes BLUE_AUTO_INDX and one for each EXTENT MANAGEMENT of:
    - 64K for BLOB , name BLUE_K064_BLOB
    - 64K for tables , name K064_NTAB
    - 128K for tables, name BLUE_K128_NTAB
    - 512K for CLOB , name BLUE_K512_CLOB
    - 4M for BLOB , name BLUE_M004_BLOB
    - 64M for CLOB , name BLUE_M064_CLOB
    - 8M for tables , name BLUE_M008_NTAB
    - 1M for tables , name BLUE_M001_NTAB
    - 256M for tables, name BLUE_M256_NTAB
    Definition of each tablespace is like:
    CREATE TABLESPACE BLUE_AUTO_INDX DATAFILE 'BLUE_AUTO_INDX01.DBF' SIZE 200M REUSE AUTOEXTEND ON NEXT 100M MAXSIZE UNLIMITED LOGGING ONLINE PERMANENT EXTENT MANAGEMENT LOCAL UNIFORM SIZE 64M SEGMENT SPACE MANAGEMENT AUTO;

    Does this structure of tablespaces ok? I mean if the logic of one tablespace for different EXTENT SIZEs looks ok?

  • Oracle 10g R2 for Windows ignores init.ora and registry values

    Hello,
    I have a strange issue. I try to set some parameters for Oracle but it doesn't seem to work.
    Here the story:
    I created the DB with the DBCA under windows and set my init parameter at frist creation with 3 important values:
    OS_AUTHENT_PREFIX = ""
    REMOTE_OS_AUTHENT=TRUE
    remote_login_passwordfile=EXCLUSIVE
    this values are in the Registry and the init.ora and the init.ora.7192011143454 in ORAHOME_DB/scripts and pfile
    I've now changed these parameters in the init.ora and registry to:
    OS_AUTHENT_PREFIX = ""
    REMOTE_OS_AUTHENT=FALSE
    remote_login_passwordfile=EXCLUSIVE
    and restarted the whole system - after the restart I checked the value for REMOTE_OS_AUTHENT:
    show parameter remote_os_authent
    NAME TYPE VALUE
    remote_os_authent boolean TRUE
    It keeps true. But why it keeps true why I can't change this value anymore after the DBCA?
    Do I miss something?
    Thanks
    Edited by: ioGLNX on 22.08.2011 04:18

    show parameter spfile;
    NAME TYPE VALUE
    spfile string C:\ORACLE\PRODUCT\10.2.0\DB_1\DATABASE\SPFILEMACSCURR.ORA
    NAME TYPE VALUE
    I have created a new spfile from my init.ora with:
    create spfile='C:\oracle\product..toMyInstanceDbs\ioglnx.ora' from pfile='C:\pathToPfile\DBHOME\scripts\init.ora'
    So the problems as it seem to me to instrcut oracle to use my new spfile...in Windows.

    How can I change SGA_TARGET IN Oracle 10G.
    How Can i recreate SPFILE IN Oracle 10G.SGA_MAX_SIZE and SGA_TARGET are all to be changed by alter system statement.
    The difference is, you can't make change to SGA_MAX_SIZE effective while instance is running. Need restart database to make change effective.
    Your can change SGA_TARGET while instance is running, as long as it's smaller than SGA_MAX_SIZE
    to recreate a spfile,
    you can shutdown your database,
    find a copy of valid pfile,
    startup pfile=/directory/yourpfile
    and
    create spfile from pfile;

    Hi Mates!
    There is one limitation in oracle XE which is:

    There are lots of limitation of XE mentioned in the Licensing Information Guide.

  • Migration from SQL Server 2005 to Oracle 10g

    Dear buddies,
    I need to migrate my tables with data from SQL Server 2005 to Oracle 10g. How can I do it in the best possible way?
    Please guide me.
    Nith

    Nith,
    I doubt if there is one best practice that can cover all cases of migrating data from sql server to Oracle. l generally find various factors case-by-case that make me chose one approach over the other. Without considering the business case and environment specific factors, some of the things I would like to know would be: The data types of the tables columns, table sizes, number of tables and if this is a one time process or a recurring process.
    One of the easiest (some times rather pesky) process would be:
    -Dump source data (Sql Server data) into flat files, csv or any preferred format
    -Setup a set of staging set of tables in the destination DB (Oracle in your case). You can setup the stage tables to enforce data-types, value sets and even some level of integrity constraints or any data logic or what ever you would like to filter out. Load the flat file data into a set of Oracle stage tables (Sql*Loader would be a good candidate)
    -You can always move data from these stage tables to you application tables
    You can script this whole process to run as batch or on demand or how ever you would like.
    I am sure you can google and find a bunch of proprietary as well as open source tools to do the same with little to a lot of work.
    good luck!

    You will go into this path C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\11.2.0\server\rdbms\admin\scott.sql. You can get scott.sql script yhen you need to run the script like @C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\11.2.0\server\rdbms\admin\scott.sql. Otherwise you just copy the below script and save it into one file then run that file using @
