ORACLE 10g Reports- how to hide the parameter screen
QUESTION:
: I have a report that was designed in 6i. It has a parameter screen. Now I converted the report to 10g and pass parameters to the report from a form. Therefore the 6i parameter screen is not required. However, when I look into the report editor PAPER PARAMETER FORM icon, the old 6i parameter layout appears.
HOW do I stop the 6i parameter screen from appearing? I dont need it anymore since the parameters are passed in from a form.

How to hide the Parameter field during Run time?
Hi,
How to hide the Parameter field during Run time?
I have a parameter field which behaves differently depending on the User logged in.
I am using reports 10G
For ex: I have 3 field created in JSP
CUSTOMER
PROVIDER
FROM DATE
END DATE
If the user = 'SUPER show all the parameter
CUSTOMER
PROVIDER
FROM DATE
END DATE
If the user is 'GATEKEEPER" Just show
PROVIDER
FROM DATE
END DATE
Can I do that?
Please help
Thanks.
KKhi, i'm not familiar much with JSP. but i think workaround is to create two window one which have 4 fields and the other which have 3. if user is SUPER then call the first screen otherwise if user is GATEKEEPER then call the second screen.

How to Hide the Parameter field at run time....
Hi,
I have a parameter field which behaves differently depending on the User logged in.
It has the LOV coming from following SQL.
SELECT customer_name FROM Cust_mast;
If the user = 'INTERNAL' then the Where clause will be
WHERE cust_id in('DELL', 'SBC', 'BANK')
Else there will be no WHERE clause or the parameter field
should be hidden in the parameter form.
So my questions are:
1) How to hide the Parameter field during Run time?
OR OR OR
2) How to change the LOV select statement during Run time?
Thanks.
Ram.Hi Ram,
Is there any way to play with the sql query SELECT using DECODE ?I'm not sure of this part, maybe someone else can suggest a way.
However, what you want can be done in 2 other ways:
1. Build 2 reports. Both reports will just be duplicates of each other, only difference being that the 'LoV where clause' will be different. Now you can fire the appropriate report in many ways. For example, if the customer is alreay logged inside your custom application, and therefore you already know whether the user is internal of external, you can design your button or link which launches the report to contain logic such that one of the 2 reports is fired depending on who the user is.
1. Use a JSP parameter form, not a paper parameter form In this case, just build an HTML parameter form in the web source of your report. Use Java logic to populate the LoV drop-down list. When you have to launch the final report, just launch the paper-layout of the report. For example (you will have to modify this):
<form action="http://machine:port/reports/rwservlet?report=ParamForm.jsp+..." name="First" method="post">
<select name="selected_customer" onChange="First.submit()" >
<option value="">Choose a Customer Name
<rw:foreach id="G_cust_id" src="G_cust_id">
<rw:getValue id="myCustId" src="CUSTOMER_ID"/>
<rw:getValue id="myCustName" src="CUSTOMER_NAME"/>
<option value="<%=myCustId%>"><%=myCustName%>
</rw:foreach>
</select>
</form>
In the code above, you will have to make sure that your report's data model defines 2 CUSTOMER_ID's (like CUSTOMER_ID_INT and CUSTOMER_ID_EXT). These 2 will be internal and external Cust ID's. Use Java logic to show one of them.

How to hide the selection screen of a Logical datebase?
Dear All,
I used the logical database PNP in one of my program by maintain the attribute 'Logical Database' of this program.
Now I want to hide all the selection screen of this PNP during the ABAP runtime environment.
Who can tell me how I can realize it?
Thank you!
Regards,

If you call the logical database using a function module, the selection
screen is not displayed.
To call a logical database from another program, use the function module LDB_PROCESS.

TYPE-POOLS: RSDS, RSFS.

CALLBACK_WA LIKE LINE OF CALLBACK.
DATA: SELTAB TYPE TABLE OF RSPARAMS,
SELTAB_WA LIKE LINE OF SELTAB.
DATA: TEXPR TYPE RSDS_TEXPR,
FSEL TYPE RSFS_FIELDS.
CALLBACK_WA-LDBNODE = 'SPFLI'.
CALLBACK_WA-GET = 'X'.
CALLBACK_WA-GET_LATE = 'X'.
CALLBACK_WA-CB_PROG = SY-REPID.
CALLBACK_WA-CB_FORM = 'CALLBACK_SPFLI'.
APPEND CALLBACK_WA TO CALLBACK.
CLEAR CALLBACK_WA.

How to hide the selection-screen Begin of Block
Hi,
I copied the standard program into my new 'Z' prog.
But i dont need a selection-screen begin of block and end of block i.e. I have to hide the entire block from the output screen.
I can delete the selction-screen block , but the field which is present inside the block is used in several places of program
and i dont know the purpose of the fields.
Can any one help me to hide the block.
Thanks in advanced
Regards,
DarshanaHi
Use keyword NO-DISPLAY with the select options or parameter which u want to hide in the selection screen.
No need to comment statements Begin of block or end of block.
SELECTION-SCREEN BEGIN OF BLOCK ss_01 WITH FRAME TITLE text-001.
SELECT-OPTIONS: s_month FOR isellist-month no-display .
PARAMETERS: p_email LIKE somlreci1-receiver no-display.
SELECTION-SCREEN END OF BLOCK ss_01.
It will work this way.
Thanks -

Satish.Hi,
Could u plz give the part of code where u get this problem. Need to know whether u r calling a transaction?
Try this
MODULE user_command_9100 INPUT.
CASE sy-ucomm.
WHEN 'EXIT' OR 'CANC'.
LEAVE. " to SCREEN 0.
WHEN 'BACK'.
SET SCREEN '0'.
LEAVE SCREEN.
This leaves the program but you may need to re-call the
transaction to go back to the original screen
WHEN OTHERS.
ENDCASE.
ENDMODULE. " USER_COMMAND_9100 INPUT

How to get the parameter from Java Script into the Parameter crystal Report
Hi All,
Crystal Report is integrated with Oracle 10g. I created the base SQL query for col1, col2, col3 and col4. Java Script pass parameter value (185) to Col1.
My question is how to create crystal report to make Col1 as parameter and how to get the parameter value 185(Col1) from Java Script. Is there any additional code I need to include in the crystal report?
FYI.
Java script sends the right parameter value. There is no issue in java script.
This is an automatic scheduled process when batch runs, Java script should pass the parameter value and the crystal report should get the value and produce the output report. Not sure if this is an application question or if you are trying to hook into Crystal Reports parameter UI? If the later then no option other than report design. If an application then I can move this to the Java Forums.
If you are asking how to alter the parameters I suggest you remove the Java reference and post a new question so it's not confusing the issue.
Please clarify? -
Hi All,
Morning , have an urgent requirement and need some guidance regards this.
we are currently having an existing Oracle 10g reports file (.rdf) lets say with name : Testing1.rdf .
The report output is getting generated in a pdf format . it opens up in a pdf format..
Now we want to embed an image file lets say : (logo.jpeg or logo.gif ) into the report output..at run time the image from the image file should show up in the report output.
Could someone please help as to how this could be achieved..and what approach we could follow for this...
with regards
Thanks as always !!Hi All,
Morning ...just a follow up question to this original post : embedding the image files at runtime into an Oracle Report..
We were able to achieve this by entering the folder location where the image files are place on the server in the REPORTS_PATH env variable in the report.sh file.
Then we update this filename like file1.jpg into a table and from there we fetch this in the Oracle Reports data model directly.
for The layout field we select the option as Image.
All this works fine..
Issue : The resolution of the embedded image in the generated report output is very low ...means the image appears there but it is not very clearly visible ..is there any way we could improve the IMAGE RESOLUTION in the report output....?????

How to hide the view latest instance option for the reports in XIR3
Created an access level and denied the rights "view document instances" and "view document instances that the user owns" in the access level.
Applied this access level for a particular group on a particular folder.
Login to Infoview and when view the history, there are no instances for a particular report under that folder.
But we could still see the 'View Latest instance' option in the properties of the report and when click on it,we are able to view the report.
As per the security assigned, the user should only be able to view the instances owned by him.
Plz help me how to hide the option in INFOVIEWIn 9.3.1 (not sure about 9.2) there is a table in your BIPlus repository which stores preferences/profile information, however, having a user simply log in to WA doesn't appear to automatically create a row for them in this table. (So this may not be a viable solution to your situation, I'm still looking for one myself.) This table stores lots of preference info such as whether or not to show the Main Menu, Toolbar, Masthead, etc. by default.
To hide the View Pane, edit the data in the SHOW_INFO_PANEL column, change it from a 1 to a 0 and for that user the View Pane will not longer appear by default.
HYA_USER_PREFS
But again, this only works if you already see the user in the table otherwise I guess maybe they have to 'touch' their Preference before it creates an entry in that table. Haven't figured that part out yet, and Support didn't have any information.
If anyone has found a way to maneuver through the table structures I'd love to hear any insight you can offer.
Before you make any changes to the data in this table be sure to take adequate repository backups, and use caution as usual.
I'm going to create a Shared Preference and have each user point to it the first time they log in - but then you lose the ability for each user to have their own personal folder as their default, so it's still not the ideal solution. Really wish there was a way for Admins to set certain prefs. A coworker reminded me under 7.? or 6.x things like View Pane were system-level settings which was easy to control, but now it's at the user level.
Good luck,

How to hide the Print and Export button in analytics report or tasks pane
Hi Experts,
In BIEE 11g,
How to hide the Print and Export button in analytics report or tasks pane ?
For example:
In console,I have created one userA which is belong to BIConsumer GROUP , when I make use of the highest user 'weblogic' to create one simple report, then the userA will login the analytivs to view this report (not dashboard), it will show the print and export as below. So customers do not want to give him the privilege for printing and exporting.
In addtion, go to catalog->tasks(left corner), it will also show the print and export button. So how to hide or not access these button?
Note: Maybe it can use the policy for consumer role for implementing this requirement, but I do not know how to modify the policy. Are you facing the problem? Thanks.Hi,
1. Create seperate folder for Reports & Dashobard.
2. For BI_Consumer (userA) set the catalog permission to view Dashboard Folder only and remove permission on the Report Folder (you can give traverse permission but don't give Open permision).
3. By this user won't be able to open or run any reports in that folder and the only way he can see the reports is through Dashboard and on dashboard the export and print buttone can be removed very easily.
Mark helpful if it helps.

Kashi

Use css file in oracle 10g report builder
hi every one
i am using oracle 10g report buidler. i want control paramform by usign css file.
any body have idea how can i use css file in oracle report builder 10g and how can i modify it's path and i how can i manage any css class on a perticular field. Thanks Billy.
Yes you are right.
Here why I discarded that option is,
I may get the source files with changing layouts.
My Actual scenario is as follows.
Initially we developped all the things using PL/SQL packages. Its working fine.
But as per the inputs we received from requirements group, the file structure changes dynamically. and we would able to consider those new columns also. We should be able to changes the rules dynamically.
Lets say, we doing fullouter join on Src_A and Src_B. on columns col1_A and col1_B.
Now the requirement changes in a way that, the join should be done on Src_A and Src_C. on columns col1_A and col_C.
For this I need to define a new package.
Instead of that, I would like to do everything dynamically based on configuration parameters given as input.
Thank you,
Regards,
Gowtham Sen
