Oracle 9i Collaboration suite works with Oracle10gAS?

I have already installed Oracle10gAS in my pc. Now I am trying to install oracle9i collaboration suite. While installation process I have to give the Oracle9iAS Single Sign-on host name and port. But when I gave the host and port of Oracle10gAS, It is showing error that the host and port are not correct. I have gone through the portlist.ini and other files, in all files the port and host name are the same that I have given. Can anyone say what is wrong in it or can you give some examples?

Oracle E-Business Suite R12 with HACMP

Hello,
I'm planning to make a dtsirbuted installation of Oracle E-Business Suite R12 like the flollowing configuration :
- Node 1: Web and Forms
- Node 2 : Concurrent Processing.
The two nodes NODE1 and NODE2 are going to be in cluster HACMP, if Node1 goes down for example the Web & Forms Services Will be started on Node 2 and vice versa.
- Node 3 : DB physically clustered with an other Machine Node4(empty).
I need to know is this a possible architecture in a technical point of view especially for the application? and what are the configurations to perform?

Will Oracle9i Dataguard broker work with Oracle10g Grid control ?

Hello all,
I have recently configured Oracle9i dataguard using Dataguard broker and it's currently working fine but I am not sure if this could be managed with Oracle10g Grid control as it does for Oracle10g dataguard (i.e. Switch-over, Protection mode switching and so on ..)
I would appreciate if anyone could enlighten me further on this as I have not been able to find any proper document to provide me with the appropriate answer .

For your JBCL questions:
JBCL 2.0 WILL be included in the production release of JDeveloper
2.0, but will not be visible on the palette by default. You can
add it back in if you really want to use JBCL.
For more info on this decision and why we are recommending Swing,
over JBCL see the post titled 'Which Oracle JDeveloper 2 GUI Lib
for database access' dated March 26. It includes plenty of
detail.
As for your gridControl question:
You can use a picklist with a gridcontrol, but there's not an
'automatic' way to do it (i.e. via the properties sheet). You
need to create a new rowsetinfo object that contains your query
for the picklist. Then bind this rowsetinfo object to a Swing
list control or combobox control. Finally, you need to hook the
list control to the cell of the grid you want the list to appear
in.

Orcladmin can no longer access Collaboration Suite pages with SSO enabled

I can no longer use the orcladmin account to access Collaboration Suite pages when SSO is enabled. I have the plug-ins listed in OID and have set the one property to exclude orcladmin (and other admin level accounts) from being authenticated using the external authentication connector with ADS. And yet despite that orcladmin still can't authenticate. I can see in the OC4J log that the authentication in IE is falling back to NTLM authentication but is still failing. What the heck am I missing?

Swipe between pages stopped working for me as well completely out of the blue. I haven't installed anything / updated anything lately, and it just stopped working about an hour ago.
My issue isn't with Mission Control, it's with my browsers:
In Safari, if I try to swipe to go back a page, it freezes the entire page. I can't scroll anywhere.
In Chrome, swiping to go back pages just doesn't work at all. But no freezing occurs

I previously work with oracle 10gXE and Oracle BI publisher 10g and it work fine. now i install oracle 11g XE and try to configure it with oracle Bi Publlisher, it show this error
"ORA-29273: HTTP request failed ORA-06512: at "SYS.UTL_HTTP", line 1324 ORA-12570: TNS:packet reader failure" after runing the ACL package to neable network service.

You'll need to add the apex engine owner to the ACL (Access Control List). Depending on your version of apex the user name varies. i.e. 4.0 is APEX_040000

Does PC Suite work with 3300 (or vice versa)?

I'm trying to use PC Suite (latest version, just downloaded it today) with my Nokia 3300 phone. When I connect the cable (DKU-2), the PC Suite software says my phone is in file transfer mode. How do I tell my phone (Nokia 3300) NOT to use file transfer mode? (the phone does not prompt me when I connect the cable to my PC, it just says Remove cable to make call) What I really want to know is if it is possible to get my phone (model 3300) to work with PC Suite?

The 3300 only has that transfer mode, it is not compatible with Nokia PC Suite.

Mnadrake8.0 and Oracle 8.1.6 works with 6 simple steps

I have searched through countless posts to
get throught the install and have come to
three simple steps to get running:
1) Load Mandrake 8.0 out of the box.
2) Update the glib-c libs through the
mandrake web site http://www.linux-mandrake.com/en/security/2001/MDKA-2001-006.php3?dis=8.0
3) make sure you install (but dont create a database)under GNOME not KDE. This is the 'buttons not working' problem.
4) fix the dbstart script by changing line 64 to:
/(PL\/SQL|JServer) (Release|Version)/ {substr($3,1,3) ;
5) download the 8.1.x patch from the download page and run the patch script.
6) use dbassist to create the database
7) you are off and running

I then tried a custom install of Dev. 6.0 but I removed product by product and the error always was "<product name> can't be installed into multiple oracle homes".
I deleted the whole Oracle 8.1.6 Client and just installed Dev. 6.0 into DEFAULT_HOME. I had a TNS-Error Can't resolve service name.
Copying the tnsnames.ora does not help. You have to manipulate it a litte bit, because Net8 TNSNAMES.ORA needs .world after the connect string.
My question now is: Is it a problem to connect with SQL-Plus 8.0.5 which was installed with Dev. 6.0 to a 8.1.6 Database ?

Oracle equals_path condition NOT working with table and materialized view

The user i am using is xdb with dba role.
1.When i try to use the statement
SELECT PATH FROM xdb.path_VIEW

the result is

2. When i drop the path_view and recreated it like materialized view with statement

Can someone help me to understand why equals_path is NOT working on table and materialized view !

Following the documentation from the article (section 11.5) I'm not able to quite get this working. I believe there is a typo in 11.5.1 step 4 as admin.mycompany.com should be pointing to the IDMHOST1 and IDMHOST2, but please correct me if I'm wrong.
My question more comes in with 11.5.2. When you declare that the OAM Server Host is sso.mycompany.com and port to be 443 you are expecting that OAM makes a call back up to the webcache but I don't believe this is happening. When I define OAM Server Host as a single machine name with OAM installed it works but when I use the load balanced URL that points to the web tier it is unable to find the server. If the call was making it up to the webcache then it would have the definition of sso.mycompany.com but if it never makes it there then it will never have that definition and the 'no server' error makes sense. Can anyone please clarify this for me?

We are having problems with WLS 7.0, Oracle 8.0.5 and CMP.
Do anybody know a link or anything to help?
Or do we have to upgrade the database to 8.1.7 (at least)?

You or anyone have examples about masking MS SQLServer, because in the Oracle documentation suggest that is possible but not "how do it", except the use of heterogeneous services.

Oracle Collaboration Suite Slow Performance

Hi,
I have encountered with problem with OCS 10.1.2 with following information:
Hardware : DL-380G5
Operating System : OEL 4 update 5 64 bit
Oracle Product : Collaboration Suite 10.1.2
The installation has been done in three server as follow:
Server 1: Application Tier (OCS component such as mail, calendar , discussion , ...)
Server 2: Infrastructure (Oracle Single Sign on)
Server 3 : Infrastructure (Oracle Internet Directory)
Patch Information : Cumulative Patch 10.1.2.4 (Note: 406284.1) + Mandatory Patch after 10.1.2.4 ( Note:
423515.1) + Patch 10.1.0.5 on Infrastructure layer
have been applied on Application tier and Infrastructure.
Problem_ Everything goes well after reboot of all 3 servers and refresh but after 2 hours nobody can
connect to OCS services due to slow performance
Only restarting the servers cause the users can connect to OCS services again.
Any Idea will be appreciated.

Did you ever find out why this was happening? We seemed to have developed a similar issue and we have had a Severity 1 level SR for 4 days now and no one seems to able to work it out.
