Oracle 9i Connectivity with php

Hi,
I am new to php and unable to connect to oracle database 9i.
I have php and appache on one server and databse on the other server.
I am using Appache 2.2 and php 5.2.8 (un-zippedinc:\php).
I have place the php.ini in windows directory
I m getting the following error: PHP Warning:  PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library 'C:/php/ext\\php_oci8.dll' - The specified procedure could not be found.\r\n in Unknown on line 0
in appache error log.
and on php page i use the oci_connect which give the following error:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function oci_connect() in C:\Apache\htdocs\main.php on line 3
Please Help me to solve this problem._
Regards,
Raza

From error listing we can see that your PHP+Apache installation doesn't support Oracle(OCI) functions
Additional modules not installed
I recommend you use "Zend for Oracle"
You may learn and download that product from this url:

  • DI Server installation and connection with PHP

    hello,
      We've installed DI Server, started it, but the WSClient file comming with the installation doesn't work.
    a) Is the IIS needed for the DIServer to work?
    If not, what do I need to do to be able to connect to the DIServer. There's no WSDL file with the DIServer.
    b) Do I need to create my own WSDL file and put it on a Web folder?
    I say this because I'm trying to connect with PHP to the server and PEARClient from PHP needs an URL (normally the WSDL file) to connect. It's just too confusing and there is no much help in the documentation.
    thanks and greetings,
    Guillem Barnolas.
    www.softime.es

    DI server provides you a simple COM interface that
    accepts SOAP commands and returns you SOAP reply.
    The format of these SOAP messages is in the SDK
    documentation.
    You should build your own web infrastructure on
    top of this mechanism.

If OP wants that how many overall users are connected to his/her oracle server (which is having more than one db) then please tell us. Suppose 10 users are connected with db1 and 20 users are connected with db2.. like that.

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function odbc_connect() in /var/www/html/waseem.php on line 20
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Is the problem with oci_connect or odbc_connect?
    The phpinfo() output shows '--without-unixODBC' which may be a root cause. There is no 'odbc' section shown in the phpinfo() output so I wouldn't expect odbc calls to work.
    But if the issue is with OCI8, then make sure that Oracle environment variables and LD_LIBRARY_PATH are set BEFORE starting Apache.
    More information on OCI8 and PHP is in http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/php/underground-php-oracle-manual.html

  • Nginx with php-fpm, connection with php-fpm.sock failed

    I am feeling stumped, trying to setup NGINX for the first time on Arch. Followed the wiki a few times and keep getting hung up in the same spot. I followed the instructions to install NGINX in a chroot, then went on to setup php-fpm. I have not tried setting up any sites, just trying to get to the point of showing the "it works" page, before I moved to setting up a site.
    The error I am getting on the page

    ; has started;
    ; max children reached - number of times, the process limit has been reached,
    ; when pm tries to start more children (works only for

    ; Value are updated in real time.
    ; Example output:

    ; process manager: static
    ; start time: 01/Jul/2011:17:53:49 +0200
    ; start since: 62636

    ; active processes: 11
    ; total processes: 15
    ; max active processes: 12
    ; max children reached: 0
    ; By default the status page output is formatted as text/plain. Passing either
    ; 'html', 'xml' or 'json' in the query string will return the corresponding
    ; output syntax. Example:
    ; http://www.foo.bar/status
    ; http://www.foo.bar/status?json
    ; http://www.foo.bar/status?html
    ; http://www.foo.bar/status?xml
    ; By default the status page only outputs short status. Passing 'full' in the
    ; query string will also return status for each pool process.
    ; Example:
    ; http://www.foo.bar/status?full
    ; http://www.foo.bar/status?json&full
    ; http://www.foo.bar/status?html&full
    ; http://www.foo.bar/status?xml&full
    ; The Full status returns for each process:
    ; pid - the PID of the process;
    ; state - the state of the process (Idle, Running, ...);
    ; start time - the date and time the process has started;
    ; start since - the number of seconds since the process has started;
    ; requests - the number of requests the process has served;
    ; request duration - the duration in µs of the requests;
    ; request method - the request method (GET, POST, ...);
    ; request URI - the request URI with the query string;
    ; content length - the content length of the request (only with POST);
    ; user - the user (PHP_AUTH_USER) (or '-' if not set);
    ; script - the main script called (or '-' if not set);
    ; last request cpu - the %cpu the last request consumed
    ; it's always 0 if the process is not in Idle state
    ; because CPU calculation is done when the request
    ; processing has terminated;
    ; last request memory - the max amount of memory the last request consumed
    ; it's always 0 if the process is not in Idle state
    ; because memory calculation is done when the request
    ; processing has terminated;
    ; If the process is in Idle state, then informations are related to the
    ; last request the process has served. Otherwise informations are related to
    ; the current request being served.
    ; Example output:
    ; pid: 31330
    ; state: Running
    ; start time: 01/Jul/2011:17:53:49 +0200

    Also verified that it is for sure running in the chroot

    edit2:
    I just rebooted the box and was going over everything again to see if I missed anything or anything was not matching the wiki and the only extra info I could dig out of my box was new error in the logs relating to the nginx.pid
    2013/03/07 18:10:41 [notice] 411#0: signal process started
    2013/03/07 18:10:41 [alert] 387#0: unlink() "/run/nginx.pid" failed (13: Permission denied)

    It appears to have the proper permissions and it is not in /run/
    ls -la /run/nginx.pid
    ls: cannot access /run/nginx.pid: No such file or directory
    Going to try setting it up again on another box to see if I catch what I did wrong on this one, but will be leaving this one as is to make sure I figure out what happened. Is it that my chroot is bad? That is really the only thing I can think of that is really any different than other NGINX installs I have done, which have always been on a Debian based system.

    Might sound stupid, but do you have php-fpm running?
    Means, is there a php-fpm process on your box, and does the socket exist like in:
    └» ps -ef|grep php-fpm
    root 3045 1 0 Mär04 ? 00:00:09 php-fpm: master process (/etc/php/php-fpm.conf)
    http 13534 3045 0 18:22 ? 00:00:10 php-fpm: pool www
    http 13545 3045 0 18:22 ? 00:00:08 php-fpm: pool www
    http 22807 3045 0 19:46 ? 00:00:01 php-fpm: pool www
    tom 27863 28055 0 20:16 pts/1 00:00:00 grep --colour=auto php-fpm
    └» ls -l /run/php-fpm/php-fpm.sock
    srw-rw---- 1 http http 0 4. Mär 22:24 /run/php-fpm/php-fpm.sock
    EDIT: somehow missed your output regarding the php-fpm socket. Ignore above then, I have no idea about chroot, I use LXC.

  • MSSQL connection with PHP in DW

    Hello,
    I know that DW 8 has a built-in connection when using php
    with a mysql database.
    However, I would like to connect to a remote Microsoft SQL
    Server with DW and php.
    Is there a way to make this connection ? Probably not
    built-in but maybe through any other way ? I have full access to
    the SQL Server.
    Thanks in advance for your help.

    All the server behaviors in Dreamweaver are MySQL specific,
    so even if
    you make a connection, none of the DW code will work.
    PHP 5 introduced PDO (PHP Data Objects), which allow
    connection to any
    database (providing the appropriate drivers are installed on
    the
    server). However, DW doesn't yet support PDO.
    You will need to hand-code everything yourself.

  • Php-cgi.exe - Application Error when Oracle is connected in PHP

    I am connecting Oracle 10g from PHP 5.0 and my OS is win server2003. I uncommented the following line in php.ini file also.
    extension=php_oci8.dll
    It is connecting the oracle and giving the required result also, but everytime the following error is coming.
    php-cgi.exe - Application Error
    The instruction at "0x6067b97e" referenced memory at "0x0114f020". The memory could not be read.
    Click OK to terminate the program.
    Click CANCEL to debug the program.
    Can anyone suggest to rectify this?

    Are you using a php_oci8.dll that is the right version for the version of php you're using? I know that sounds silly, but sometimes people do that.

    Do the Oracle8i 8.1.7 JDBC drivers have backward compatibility with Oracle8i 8.1.5 ?
    Please help me in this regard with utmost information possible and sample code.

  • Oracle ODBC Connectivity with db2

    I want to connect forms/reports with

    through odbc driver it gives "Invalid

    get connected.Same message comes when
    one gets connected to sql but it runs fine.
    I have tried in two ways to configure ODBC.
    1. Using Client Configuration Assistant
    of DB2.
    2. Usgin OCA and Intersolv odbc
    driver coming along with the cd.
    Forms and reports are 6i and
    db2 version is 5.
    Thanks in advance.
    Milind

    Dear Ajay,
    I used heterogenous connectivity to connect to DB2 but it is very very slow. And checked about Oracle gateway to Db2 and came to know that it is also very slow. The next solution was using ODBC to db2 using Forms 6i Patch 13. The connectivity is very good otherwise u can use DB2 Information Integrator software (cost about $20-50 K). If you need any more information please let me know.

  • Oracle 10g connectivity with sql server 2000 through oracle transpa gateway

    dear gurus.
    i am to connecto oracle 10g with sql server 2000 through oracle transparent gateway.
    i have installed transparent gateway and proper configured. also link is created.
    but when i execute query "select * from city@inventory" , so an error displayed.
    ORA-12500: TNS:listener failed to start a dedicated server process.
    kindly suggest me what could be the cause.
    regards,

    if the listener fails to spawn a dedicated server process it is commonly indicating an issue with the listener. So posting the listener and also a listener trace including a description of the env where you installed the gateway into which directory would be helpfull. So please describe more detailed your env.
