Statement stmnt = con.createStatement(ResultSet.TYPE_SCROLL_INSENSITIVE,ResultSet.CONCUR_UPDATABLE);
if(stmnt.execute("SELECT * FROM PRUEBA WHERE id= 1"))
ResultSet rset = stmnt.getResultSet();
set.first();
rset.updateBinaryStream("MIBLOB",fis,Integer.parseInt(""+far.length()));
rset.updateRow();
rset.close();
stmnt.close();
con.close();
fis.close();
catch(Exception e)

I get the next:

  • Oracle Batch update problem

    Hi,
    I have a queer problem with batch inserts in oracle, loaded on a sun solaris m/c.
    I'm trying to do a batch insert using the executeBatch() api of java.
    I am able to do batch insertions from my workstation i.e win2k properly . But i'm unable to do so when i run the program on the sun solaris m/c.(The data base is the same)
    Since the JVMs are different i have a feeling it could be the oracle JVM that is giving the problem.
    Please advice me as to how i can overcome this.

    I am having the same problem with a 9i installation on Win2k. My code works fine when run in the Sun JVM on a client. When I try to executeBatch in the Oracle JVM, I get "java.sql.BatchUpdateException: Internal Error: oracle.jdbc.kprb.KprbDBStatement".
    I am using what I thought was the standard preparedStatement.addBatch() and preparedStatement.executeBatch() APIs.
    I see in the SetExecuteBatch.java example the use of connection.setDefaultExecuteBatch(int) and preparedStatement.executeUpdate(). Is this usage required when running in the Oracle JVM? What if I set my batch size to 10000 but I only have 9000 rows in the last set -- how do I force the batch to execute on the smaller set?

  • Oracle Timeout (update problem 8i)

    Hi,
    I am updating on row in emp.
    update emp set sal = 29 where empno=7369;
    and again trying to update same row with same empno from different console. With out giving commit to the first statement. Second console is getting hanged, waiting for lock. I dont want the second user to get hanged. It has to come out from the hang, by giving some error or message (..i.e You cant updated or something). I want to set some timeout for that. I tried with distributed_lock_timeout but it is obsolute in 8i. Do we have some global parameter to get this problem solve.
    Help me...

    I don't know of any other initialization parameter for that (if someone else knows more, then welcome).
    The best way would be "SELECT FOR UPDATE NOWAIT", but, since you can't modify your application, we have to rely on DISTRIBUTED_LOCK_TIMEOUT.
    You could rename your table, for example :
    SQL> rename emp to emptab;
    and, referring to my previous posting, create a synonym for that :
    SQL> create synonym emp for emptab@LOCAL;
    If you want to change the value of DISTRIBUTED_LOCK_TIMEOUT, you can add a line like this in your initSID.ora :
    DISTRIBUTEDLOCK_TIMEOUT = <what you want in seconds>
    BTW, if you can't modify your code, how do you manage the error conditions ?

  • Update problem - VBDATA table

    Dear All,
    We have update problems in our Quality systems, and also in every R/3 system that we create from a Production system copy.
    Sometime the UPD and UP2 work processes hung without apparent reason.
    In the SM50 I can see one or more of my update processes running for a lot of time (many hours) on the table VBDATA without perform any action.
    In the tcode SM12 I donu2019t see any kind of lock, and I donu2019t understand why only sometime this problem happens.
    Of course, from the SM13 I can see that during this problem the system is not able to perform any kind of update.
    As I told in the beginning of the message, I have the same problem in other two R/3 systems, both created with a system copy from the production system.
    The Production and the Developer systems seem not affected by this problem.
    Have you got any idea about the reason of the problem?
    Even if the Production systems is not directly affected, all the IT department is not able to work on the Quality system (or any other Test system), and the only workaround is to kill the UPD (or UP2) WPs affected.
    Thanks in advance,
    Federico Biavati
    My R/3 System is a 4.7 on SLES9 and Oracle 10.2.0.2

    Hello Siva,
    This is what I did:
    > Check how many entries do you have in VBDATA currently.
    More than 1.000 in every SAP systems that Iu2019m creating from Production
    > You might want to run the reorganize updates program to clear the old updates
    > that are pending/in error
    Good point!!
    After the reorganization (ST14 u2013 Reorganize update requests) the table VBDATA is empty.
    Iu2019ll check and Iu2019ll let you know if the problem is definitively solved.
    Thanks for you help,
    Federico

  • Demonstrating lost update problem

    Hi
    I would like to know if it's possible to demonstrate the 'lost update' problem in oracle without using simulation. If so how would I go about doing this? I assume I will need to establish multiple sessions within a single transaction in order to have independent transactions to demonstrate this properly.
    Thanks.

    The type of behaviour that leads to a lost update can be demonstrated with something like this.
    In session 1 run a pl/sql block like:
    BEGIN
       FOR r IN (SELECT * FROM t ) LOOP
          IF r.id = 5 THEN
             DBMS_OUTPUT.Put_Line ('ID is '||r.id||' and descr is '||r.descr);
             DBMS_LOCK.Sleep(30);
             UPDATE t SET descr = 'SLEEPY' WHERE id = r.id;
          END IF;
       END LOOP;
       COMMIT;
    END;The Sleep simulates user thinking time, or perhaps some delay in the proce for complex calculations and lookups.
    While session 1 is busy, in session 2 do
    SQL2> UPDATE t SET descr = 'AWAKE' WHERE id = 5;
    1 row updated.
    SQL2> COMMIT;
    Commit complete.
    SQL2> SELECT * FROM t WHERE id = 5;
            ID DESCR
             5 AWAKEThen, when the block in session 1 is finished, you will see:
    ID is 5 and descr is ALL_CATALOG
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
    Then do
    SQL1> SELECT * FROM t WHERE id = 5;
            ID DESCR
             5 SLEEPYThe update by session2 was lost.
    There are two ways to handle the situation. First, define the cursor as FOR UPDATE. In this case, session 2 would receive an error. The other way, optimistic locking, is to use something like the following as an update statement in the pl/sql block:
    UPDATE t SET descr = 'SLEEPY'
    WHERE id = r.id and
          descr = r.descr;Then check for the success of the update.

    Hi,
    I have an interface with straight oracle to oracle mapping and I'm using oracle incremental update km for the data flow.

  • Oracle 10g forms problem

    hi
    can any body help me?
    i have installed oracle developer 10g with oracle 8i database
    when i run any form including the test.fmx
    it always ask to install JInitiator although it has been installed (appears in the control panel and in c:\program file\oracle folder)
    another problem appears after completing the installtion of JInitiator
    the browser views the HTML tags of the form not execute it
    so does any body have any idea???

    From the Windows Start menu, choose Run, type regedit, and click OK.
    Expand the registry nodes HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > ORACLE.
    Make a backup copy of this key by right-clicking it and selecting Export from the context menu.
    Select one of the HOME nodes beneath the ORACLE node (the one for Developer Suite). Ensure that you have opened the correct node by verifying that the key FORMS90_PATH exists in that node.
    From the Registry Editor menu, select Edit > New > String Value. Type in the name FORMS90_HIDE_OBR_PARAMS.
    Double-click FORMS90_HIDE_OBR_PARAMS and in the Value data field enter false, then click OK.
    Close the registry editor.
    Now when you run a form from Forms Builder, it should show parameters, including userid, in the URL, but it should run fine.
    15. Set the path for Forms Builder to locate icons:
    a) Double-click the UI_ICON key to open it for editing.
    b) For the value data, append the path to the .gif file that you will use for the
    button icon, which is the \icons subdirectory of your lab directory. Separate this
    path from the remainder of the string with a semicolon; for example:
    ;e:\labs\lab\icons, then click OK.

    >
    but the problem is that when i take print out of it ,it's printout comes in its intial format(in small font) evenif i choose different type of paper size or different orientation . it's printout is coming in too small font.
    pl tell me how to overcome this problem>
    The report rendering engine tries to fit the report page into the physical page size. This results in shrinking of font size,etc.
    To fix
    a) reduce the content on the report to something reasonable for printing.(Std paper sizes and orientation)
    b) change the page size selection. Of course, you will need a printer and paper of the size you set.

  • Chart x scale update problem

    LabVIEW  8.5.1
    Sweep Chart Problem
    The x scale values do not update until after the 2nd sweep.  The red line cursor gets to the end of the sweep and starts the next, but the scale numbers do not update until the next sweep starts.
    It appears to be a problem with the chart, since it happens with any vi with a sweep chart.  I've used versions 6 through 7 for years and never seen this.  I've only recently moved to a new job with a new machine and version 8.5.1., so I'm not sure what to try.
    I've included a simple example.
    Thanks much,

    You have a typical race condition!
    There is no data dependency between the property node and the while loop, so in your case the loop starts executing first and the property node starts slightly later, immediately erasing the first point. Execution order is not defined.
    All you need to do is add a data dependency, e.g. as with the error cluster in the image. This forces the property node to complete before the loop is allowed to start.
    (Execution order is enforced even if the wire value is not even used inside the loop )
    Try it!

  • Which is better: Oracle incremental update (merge) or Oracle incremental update

    Hi All,
    We have big data load happening from Oracle RDBMS(source) to Oracle RDBMS(target). The data is huge (in billions) and new insertions, updates will happen. I would like to understand which among
    Oracle incremental update (merge) or Oracle incremental update is better and faster -  for first load and subsequent incremental updates, deletes? I request you all to provide valid reasons since I need to present the same to my client
    If at all Oracle incremental update (merge) is better, then why ODI needs to have Oracle incremental update IKM.
    I have seen some discussions on the same topic but I have not yet got a proper response with reasons and that is why I am posting the question again
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sijee Sadasivan

    Hi Sijee Sadasivan,
    IKM SQL Control Append could be faster for the initial load. You will therefore need another interface for the initial load.
    From my experience IKM Oracle Incremental Update (Merge) is faster than IKM Oracle Incremental Update for the incremental load, but I think the best thing to do is to try it on your environment. Nothing is better than a benchmark .
    IKM Oracle Incremental Update is useful for Oracle RDBMS < 9i, before this syntax was introduced.

The second download attempt succeeded. I had a minor if nerve-wracking issue with the update (the blue looping screen reported in another topic in this forum) but after a forced shutdown & restart the update was completed successfully.
    I have since updated my two other Macs so all those listed in my profile are now running 10.5.7. All do so without any problems & in fact work better & more stably than ever before.
    I doubt that I'm unusual in this respect. Some users will have problems but I believe most won't, & for those that do most problems will turn out to be caused by something other than the update itself. So it has been for every previous Leopard update; I see no reason to think this one will be any different.
