Oracle BAM alert creation

Hello,
I need to create an Oracle BAM alert as follows:
My DO has fields 'EventDate' of type DateTime and 'Error' as an int. I want to be able to send out an alert if I receive more than 100 records in the past 30 minutes with a error value 2.
I have tried doing this using the Event - 'When a data field in a data object meets specified condition',
-setup Row Filter as 'Error is equal to 2', 'EventDate' is within a time interval previous 30 MINUTES'
-setup Group Filter as 'COUNT(Error) is greater than or equal to 100'
but it does not work as expected. Can anyone please let me know what I am doing wrong and if there is another way to accomplish this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

    hello Varun/ Coert
I guess -it- is not advisible to directly modify or alter any bam tables, it may land you into unrecoverable errors. Alternnate is to use the MakeBAMAdmin SQL utility on the OTN pages. Coert- can you try using http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/integration/bam/10.1.3/htdocs/1013_support.html

  • Oracle Bam Alert (1.1.1.7 or 6) script error on some conditions.

Hi. Im trying create a simple alert from BAM.
When I select some kind of conditions, the BAM send error screen that say:
The object does not support the property or method.
    URL: server / activestudio / default.jsp? Alert Assembly = & State = oracle.bam.web.alerts.pages.AlertsEdit
There is some patch to 1.1.1.6 version to resolve some kind of error on javascript, but, even with it applied, the error remains. Na versão 1.1.1.7 the error at the same way.
This error is presented when I try to use a data object field or when I try create some message on email alerts.

The alert history shows both actions
And also one more question related to alerts:
Suppose we have selected rule as status =fail and flag =y , frequency 3 secs
Then until the status is fail and flag is y the action should occur every 3 secs
The behavior I see right now is
whenever I update the Data object and condition meets the action happens
but the rule i select was data field d meets criteria not data field update as criteria

I replied to you by email but for the benefit of others, I will paste email content here:
Let me take the questions one by one:
    1. Regarding Webservice action issue, I am going to need little more information as:
    a) Have you tested the webservice with some external tool like soapui using the same endpoint url and same payload to see if it works fine?
    b) Is it a secure webservice?
    c) Does it require any policy to be attached?
    d) If response to a) is yes, and if it is okay with you, can you share the webservice wsdl url with us along with the operation to be selected and the payload?
    2. On Alert behavior:
Alerts by design fire only for the runtime changes that happen to the dataobject and satisfy the condition you choose and not for the conditions that are satisfied by the data that exists before alert is created and activated. So, in your case, not only for update but even for insert and delete of data, alert will fire if condition is met but the requirement is those changes should be happening to the dataobject after alert has been activated.
Moreover, I would also like to make the behavior of Frequency Constraint clear here - I am copying the below text from official BAM Alerts doc, this will make it clear that frequency constraint doesn't mean that every x seconds, alert will evaluate the condition but rather that if within x seconds, condition gets met multiple times, alert will fire only once.
    Frequency Constraint
The Frequency Constraint feature prevents a user's email inbox from being flooded with alerts by limiting the number of alert messages that can be sent out during a given time interval.
Frequency Constraint can be edited only if it is appropriate for the event selected. otherwise it is disabled. It can be set to a value of time which could be in seconds, minutes, or hours.
This limits the number of times the rule launches in a given time period. With real-time data, transactions can occur every millisecond, so alerting frequency must be controlled.

Make sure the path to the ODAC used by BAM (C:\OracleBAM\ClientForBAM\bin) is the first item in the system PATH
environment variable. Restart your computer after fixing this.
If that doesn't fix it, please check the Troubleshooting section in the BAM Install Guide.

  • Oracle BAM Authentication Question

We are facing a strange problem related to Oracle BAM authentication and I'd like to ask for opinions or suggestions.
    - We have a BAM Server called MYSERVER
    - MYSERVER is a Win2003 and BAM was installed using MYSERVER\Administrator account
    - We have a domain called MYDOMAIN
    - MYSERVER is part of domain MYDOMAIN and this domain is registered in MYSERVER as a trusted domain.
    - We have four user groups created in domain, not in bam server:
    1) MYDOMAIN\bamAdmin
    2) MYDOMAIN\bamArchitect
    3) MYDOMAIN\bamDesigner
    2) MYDOMAIN\bamUser
    - In Windows 2003 we added the following users to the groups below:
user MYDOMAIN\adm was added to group MYDOMAIN\bamAdmin
user MYDOMAIN\arch was added to group MYDOMAIN\bamArchitect
user MYDOMAIN\des was added to group MYDOMAIN\bamDesigner
user MYDOMAIN\usr was added to group MYDOMAIN\bamUser
    - In Administrator>Login Management
We didn't create login for users, only groups just described:
    MYDOMAIN\bamAdmin
    MYDOMAIN\bamArchitect
    MYDOMAIN\bamDesigner
    MYDOMAIN\bamUser
    - In Administrator>Roles Management
We selected each Role and added the following groups
    Administrator > MYDOMAIN\bamAdmin
    Report Architect > MYDOMAIN\bamArchitect
    Report Creator > MYDOMAIN\bamDesigner
    Report Viewer > MYDOMAIN\bamUser
    - After that, we return to Administrator > Login Management to review groups
There is an yellow question mark indicating bam cannot validate this login in domain controller.
This login is not currently known to be a valid login.
We click in one of the described groups, such as
    MYDOMAIN\bamUser
And then in "View Roles" link.
    We receive the following message
ADC Server exception in GetUserGroups(): 3.
    Source: "ActiveDataCache" ID: "ADCServerException"
Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password
    Source: "Oracle.BAM.Common.Core"
Sometimes we get: "Network path not found" and finally we get this message:
"The account used to run the Oracle BAM Active Data Cache does not have permission to retrieve the list of groups for this user. Contact your network administrator."
    - If MYDOMAIN\usr that was added to group MYDOMAIN\bamUser try to access BAM Viewer module or bam home page (http://myserver/oracleBam), he receives the same error in welcome screen.
    - User MYDOMAIN\usr can login to MYSERVER server in domain MYDOMAIN, so server recognizes the domain and user.
    - In Windows NT Alert Viewer we have several errors/warnings registered, telling that BAM could not validate user/login and also "RPC Server Unavailable" errors.
    - I tried changing ADC Service user credentials to MYDOMAIN\Administrator, but ADC Service didn't start anymore, so we have to reconfigure to MYSERVER\Administrator.
    - In ADC Log we have several messages indicating BAM could not validate user:
2008-01-22 17:26:11,875 [User Validation Thread] WARN - ActiveDataCache Caught exception while validating user MYDOMAIN\usr: Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password
And when we changed credentials to MYDOMAIN\Administrator we got messages indicating bam stores some type of key/encrypt information by user who installed product (MYSERVER/Administrator):
2008-01-22 16:49:16,062 [1484] ERROR - ActiveDataCache DPAPI was unable to decrypt data. CryptUnprotectData failed. Error -2146893813: Key not valid for use in specified state.
Somebody may point us what could be wrong, perhaps a tip or doc about WINDOWS/BAM auth integration?
Metalink has few information about that, such as Note: 412555.1, but from network view it seems to be correct because we may log on MYDOMAIN\usr to MYSERVER successfully.
Bam could integrate to NT user authentication seamlessly, but it seems to me that it's harder and tricky than we thought.
    Any ideas?
    Thank you in advance,
    Rogério

    Hi,
Windows services running as local user can not do domain user authentication (even when machine is on that domain)
You will need to change ADC Service user credentials to MYDOMAIN\Administrator. If you just do this only in services, service wont start because the database passwords in config files are encrypted as original user and can not be decrypted by new user.
See "Working with Post-Install Password Changes and Password Expiration Policies" in the BAM Install Guide (In chapter 3 under Additional Configuration Settings) to change the config files. And also add MYSERVER\Administrator to BAM Administrator group before change.
The easiest may be to just reinstall as user MYDOMAIN\Administrator.
    Thanks
    Ranga

    Hello SOA gurus,
We're getting the same error as well. Our's a Linux environment and we've configured 2 managed servers (soa_server and bam_server)
Log file for the bam_server throws up this error message periodically. Looks like the other server doesn't. Does this message pertain to only BAM server ? (I'm new to SOA suite).
Also, is this a show stopper ? I've seen the managed server going down at times and wasn't sure if it was due to this error. Don't know if this error can be ignored or need to fix.
Can someone help on how to fix this really soon please ?
    Thanks

  • PI 7.11 - Alert creation for RFC Exceptions does not work

    Hi folks!
In our PI 7.11 SP04 system we have created an Alert Category as well as an Alert Rule to be informed about errorneous messages in the Integration Engine (ABAP).
The scenario is synchronous SOAP Axis to sRFC, where the RFC answers with an exception that is transferred to a SOAP Fault response message.
Now we see messages with Application Errors in the Integration Engine, but no alert is created. Having a look at the alert creation log using report SXMSALERT_LOGREADER shows us that the system even does not try to create an alert for these messages.  Alerts are only created for errors in the Adapter Engine.
    Question:
Why does the system not create alerts in this case and how can we achieve this?
    Thanx for any hint!
    Kind Regards,
    Volker

    Hi!
    Additional information for all:
When forcing an error like "receiver not found" both kinds of alerts are created: AE Alert and IE Alert. Thus in general the alert configuration and the alert rule for IE errors are correct and working - only not for RFC exceptions ....

  • Oracle BAM : Tabs are not getting displayed

    Hi
Just started working in Oracle BAM. I opened exisiting reports that came with the installation. Now when I click on Edit View -> "Data" button in the "View" Editor of an existing report ; the following tabs shld be displayed as per the BAM user guide : DataObjects, Fields, Filter, Drilling ...etc .
But none of the tabs are comming in the browser. In fact 7 empty tabs are dispalyed and are disabled.
When I click on "Properties" in the "View" editor ; all the tabs are comming and I can click on the tabs and edit the properties. But the tabs under "Data" option is not working.
I have deployed SOA suite 11.1.1.3 on wls 10.1.3. I am using IE 7. Any pointers will be helpful!!
    Thanks

    Any suggestions
Checked the file its exists and had correct server name and port and transport

ok - I think I've got it figured.  Appears to be a known issue.  You need to apply patch p17073913_121200.
I downloaded that and applied to my Linux version - then re-ran the UA.  This time the GUI started and so now I'm going through the upgrade steps.
The patch is generic, so should work for your windows environment too.  Good luck.
