Oracle cannot load areasQueries
When trying to load oracle.server, 9.2.0.1.0, on Compaq laptop with XP Professional, I get this eror repeatedly:
*** Error Dialog: There was an error during loading library : areasQueries ***
Can anyone provide suggestions on how to remedy
- Thanks
Dale Lee
I had the same problem upgrading an environment from 9206 to 9207. I tried everything, even delete all oracle homes and c:\program files\oracle and start from scrach. Did not work. Then I RE-downloaded the patch and unziped it to the local HDD, it work 100%
Weird, as I used the network location 20 times before I got this error and only one one server.

Hi,
I' have used Tomcat 4.0.3 with XSQL Servlet 9.2 for about a half year. All is working fine. When I now change to 4.1.18 the most things are also working fine. The are to problems:
1. I have to save the XSQLConfig.xml in a jar file.
2. My fop serializer doesn't work any longer. I'm getting all the time the following error: XSQL-022: Cannot load serializer class oracle.xml.xsql.serializers.fop203.
I'm using the XDK 9.2.0.4 with jsdk 1.4.1 and tomcat 4.1.18 on Redhat Linux.
Has anyone had have the same problem? Has anyone a solution for this problem?
Regards
UweDoes the XSQLSampleSerializer exhibit the same problem?
That is, can we rule out the fact that it's related at all to FOP?
If you browse the following page, does it work?
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<?xml-stylesheet serializer="java:oracle.xml.xsql.serializers.XSQLSampleSerializer"?>
<foo-with-java/>This sample serializer should be in your xsqlserializers.jar file. -

Hello All,
Help needed to fix this error.
We are getting the below error from Toad after fresh install on Windows 7 64 Bit.
Toad for Oracle Base
Version: 10.6.1.3
Cannot load OCI DLL: C:\Oracle\instantclient_11_1\oci.dll
We are using the Oracle Instant Client (instantclient-basic-nt-11.2.0.2.0).
We are able to connect to the database from the command line successfully, but when we tried to launch the Toad and connect it we are getting the above error.
How do we fix this issue?
Thanks in advance.
Sandeep Smseberg wrote:
So is this a Toad issue or an Oracle client issue?More like a general software or programming "issue". If Toad (or other program) is 32-bit, then loaded libraries (e.g. Oracle Client dll's) needs to be 32-bit.
I'm sure this is documented in requirements for Toad. See e.g. [url http://toadfororacle.com/servlet/KbServlet/download/4264-102-12585/10.6_ReleaseNotes.htm#SystemRequirements]Toad 10.6 Release notes.

Hello,
my environment is:
MS Windows 2003 R2 SP2 Enterprise x64 Edition
Oracle Database 10g Release 10.2.0.1.0 - 64bit Production
and I want to use:
TOAD for Oracle Freeware - version 8.5.0.50 g (from Quest Software)
my "path" variable is as below:
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator.SERVER2003>set path
Path=C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\bin;C:\WINDOWS\system32;C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\System32\Wbem
PATHEXT=.COM;.EXE;.BAT;.CMD;.VBS;.VBE;.JS;.JSE;.WSF;.WSH
At location "C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\bin\" I can see "oci.dll"
BUT... when I try to connect to my database... from TOAD... I get the message below.
Cannot load OCI DLL: C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\bin\oci.dll
Using "netca" or "sqlplus" I can connect to the database with success.
Help welcome!!!Hummm....
this should be the cause.
I have Oracle Database 10g Release 10.2.0.1.0 - 64bit Production. Then all the executables including DLLs are 64-bit version compiled.
Now... I guess that the TOAD software is 32-bit application and it can not load 64-bit OCI.DLL.
Thanks to EVERYBODY evolved!!!
By the way:
The TOAD for Oracle Freeware - version 8.5.0.50 g (from Quest Software) is the latest version available from Quest Software.

Hi..
I tried connect to my oracle 11g using toad version 9.5.. but i got an error as below:-
Cannot load OCI DLL: C:\oracle\product\11.1.0\db_1\BIN\oci.dll
As your information.. this is my tnsnames.ora configuration:-

(CONNECT_DATA =
(SERVER = DEDICATED)
(SERVICE_NAME = NV2DEV)
Please help me...
Thank you,
Baharinhi,
Guys, I installed Oracle 11g client because of the reported fix of System.Transactions issue known in 10g. I use PL/SQL developer, and it told me "Initialization error: Could not locate OCI dll", though the registry entry and ORAHOME folder it showed were Ok. It seems like PL/SQL developer was looking for OCI.dll not in the reported ORAHOME folder but in ORAHOME\bin folder. After copying all files (luckily, they are quite few) from ORAHOME root to bin PL/SQL developer began to work correctly.
from the following link
http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=620900
it will work for you
Thanks

Oracle 9.i - SQLPLUS libodm9.so - cannot load shared object file
I am receive this error when I try to run sqlplus as any other user other than the user who installed the distribution:
libodm9.so: cannot load shared object file file does not exist.
Anyone have any ideas?
-Jim Wartnick
[email protected]I did have my LD_LIBRARY_PATH exported. The funny thing about this is that it works for one user (the user that installed the distribution), but nobody else. This is pretty bizzare. I tried to relink Oracle and received all of the similar errors that everyone else did (GLIBC22 errors). One person said to UPGRADE my binutils, I did this and am still having problems. I think I will wait for Oracle to certify the thing. It's nice to know that some things with Oracle never change. They can release a production piece of software that doesn't work. Pretty typical.

Error while creating database - Cannot load backend library 'oci.dll'
Hi all,
I am newbie to Timesten imdb (in memory database). I do not wish to use oracle rdbms.
I have installed the Timesten IMDB on Win2003.
E:\TimesTen\tt70_32\bin>ttVersion.exe
TimesTen Release 7.0.5.0.0 (32 bit NT) (tt70_32:17000) 2008-04-05T00:54:16Z
Instance admin: m4sadm
Instance home directory: e:\TimesTen\tt70_32
Daemon home directory: e:\TimesTen\tt70_32\srv\info
While installing, I followed the viewlet at: [http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/timesten/viewlets/tt70_install_win_viewlet_swf.html]
Now, I am planning to create a database, and so following the viewlet at: [http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/timesten/viewlets/tt70_create_db_win_cc_viewlet_swf.html]
However, when I give the command (according to the viewlet), I get the following error:
Command> select * from v$version;
5102: Cannot load backend library 'oci.dll' for Cache Connect. OS error message '<empty>'.
The command failed.
Can anyone provide pointers to resolve this?I'm guessing you chose No to the install question about using Cache Connect to Oracle? This would cause certain libraries not to be installed at install time, specifically libraries that would enable you to use TimesTen Cache Connect to cache data from Oracle tables.
The table "v$version" that you use in your select
select * from v$version
only exists on an Oracle RDBMS. It doesn't exist on TimesTen. Moreover the second viewlet you refer to is about using the TimesTen Cache Connect feature to cache tables from Oracle RDBMS. If you're not interested in using Oracle RDBMS, as you say, it would be my assumption that you're also not interested in using the TimesTen Cache Connect feature? So I'm a little confused here about your intentions. Are you interested in using TimesTen as a standalone datastore, or do you want to use it to cache data from tables located in an Oracle RDBMS?
Thanks. -

SOA WebLogic : Cannot load JDBC driver class
Hi, I'm new to this Oracle SOA World. Currently I'm trying to configure environment on my system. I found a very useful document to install all related SOA component to my system, the document name was 'Quick Start Guide for Oracle® SOA Suite 11gR1 (11.1.1.5.0)'. I did all the steps written in the document and have installed all the components successfully, component including Database, Jdevelper, WebLogic Server, RCU, SOA suite, service bus, all are installed successfully.
But when I'm trying to Configure Application Server (start -> Oracle SOA 11g-Home1), at one step 'Configure JDBC Component Schema' , here I'm getting this message
* The driver class listed below was not found in product installation
vendor: Derby
Driver: org.apache.derby.jdbc.clientdriver
A Test will not be performed on any database connections using this driver
In addition, when i just ignore this message and continue installation, after installation when i run weblogic server then it gives error and gets terminated

try placing the jars that represent ur driver, here
For both Windows and Linux, you must perform the following steps:
Drop the vendor-specific driver JAR files to the user_projects/domains/soainfra/lib directory.
Drop the vendor-specific driver JAR files to the <Weblogic_Home>/server/lib.
Edit the classpath to include the vendor-specific jar file in <Weblogic_HOME>/common/bin/commEnv.sh

Java.sql.SQLException: Cannot load JDBC driver
THis topic has been discussed many many times but I still not able to connect to Oracle 8i from my servlet using Tomcat 4.1.12 on hp-ux and java1.3
I always got: java.sql.SQLException: Cannot load JDBC driver class 'null'
In server.xml:
<Context Path="/MyApp" docBase="MyApp" debug="0" reloadable="true" >
<Resource name="jdbc/ora" auth="Container" type="javax.sql.DataSource"/> <ResourceParams name="jdbc/ora" >
<parameter>
<name>username</name>
<value>myname</value>
</parameter>
<parameter> <name>password</name>
<value>mypassword</value>
</parameter>
<parameter> <name>driverClassName</name>
<value>oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver</value>
</parameter>
<parameter>
<name>url</name>
<value>jdbc:oracle:thin:@myhostname:1521:ora</value>
</parameter> </ResourceParams>
</Context>
In MyApp/WEB-INF/web.xml:
<resource-ref>
<res-ref-name>jdbc/ora</res-ref-name>
<res-type>javax.sql.DataSource</res-type>
<res-auth>Container</res-auth>
</resource-ref>
The Oracle jdbc jar file classes12.jar is under common/lib in Tomcat's home. read Permission is there.
In the servlet:
init(ServletConfig config):
Context init = new InitialContext();
Context ctx = (Context) init.lookup("java:comp/env");
dataSource = (DataSource) ctx.lookup("jdbc/acdb");
doPost(..)
the error occured at :
synchronized (dataSource){
con = dataSource.getConnection();}
Thanks in advance!Everything looks correct to me, except for one thing.
In your web.xml you have this:
<res-ref-name>jdbc/ora</res-ref-name> In your server.xml, you have this tag, which matches your web.xml:
<ResourceParams name="jdbc/ora" > But in your Java code, you've got this:
dataSource = (DataSource) ctx.lookup("jdbc/acdb"); When I've successfully set up a Web app data source, all three names had to agree. You either need to change your Java lookup name to "jdbc/ora" or change the web.xml and server.xml to "jdbc/acdb".
See if that does it. Everything else sounds correct to me. - MOD -

Gayathri.Hi,
Thanks for the INPUTS.
Based on your inputs, came to know from service market (PAM) that Oracle 8.1.7 is not supported on AIX 5.3.
Our Current setup is SAP R/3 46C Oracle 8.1.7 on Solaris 8. For SAP Upgrade we have planned for IBM AIX 5.3 for ECC6.0 .
Kindly suggest in detail how to go about for Migration of SAP 46C from Solaris to AIX and Upgrade from SAP R/3 46C to ECC 6.0 on Oracle Database
Please suggest at the earliest.
Thanks a TON in advance

Gayathri
