Oracle Data Miner - one project (workflow) more then one user ?

Hi,
Is it possible to have more then one DM user working on one DM project / workflow?
Example I have DMUSER1 and DMUSER2
DMUSER1 created project and some workflow. I need DMUSER2 to be able to modify that same workflow if possible simultaneously.
Something like in OWB where we can use more than one user on creating mappings.
How is that possible?.

The ODM mining algorithms use techniques that are not exposed.
However, there are a lot of features in the db that are available to you to build your own.
As for an optimization package, I know there are some internal implementations but I am not aware of one in the db that is exposed.

If the table is not partitionned you cannot store a table in different tablespaces. If the table is partitionned you can store each partition in a different tablespace. Example from 10.2 Data Warehousing Guide:

Crashing - Freeze when trying to export more then one project in compressor

when i set more then one final cut project to convert a DVCPRo HD project to DVD media or quicktime during the first batch project the system freezes. I used to be able to do multiple
projects over night or the weekend and now i have to do one at a time.

Transformations with more then one source data structure?

Hi,
is there a best practice to include more then one data source (e.g. DSO, InfoSource, ...) in a transformation?
My approach was to merge the needed sources by creating an InfoSet. Afterwords I took this InfoSet as source for the transformation.
Is this the recommended approach? Are there alternatives to this approach? Pros and cons?

as I unterstood a virtual characteristic is computed when you query the data. In our case we'd also like to export the data via open hub instead of only querying it, so the value would stay empty. Is this correct? Works a virtual characteristic with a third party analysis tool like Cognos?
So implementing a custom extractor in R/3 would be the recommendation?
Currently I've implemented the scenario via left outer joins in the InfoSet with an additional abap routine in the transformation to determine the right material number. The big downside of this approach is probably bad performance with big tables, that delta extraction isn't possible from an InfoSet and more data as needed for reporting has to be loaded (lookup tables). Right? The only upside I can see with this solution is that after joining the tables only a few if statements are needed in the ABAP-Routine to do the job.

You need multiple file upload form controls in your HTML and
the PHP
script has to loop through the array that holds the
informations about
all received files.
The script might also need some additional security checks.
Currently it
seems to be possible to upload any arbitrary files, even
other scripts.
With some more tweaking the server might be tricked into
executing them,
which would be a huge security hole.
The receiving script has to check the actual file content,
not just the
file extension or content type, which can both be faked.
Where did you get that script from?

I think u want to batch mode insertion if m not wrong?
1- Use Insert statment instead of commit and then next record.

Delete Time Data more then one year old

Hello,
I have to delete all the time data (Infotypes, clusters) that are older then one year.
What I've done is :
1) store the time evaluation cluster + p0003-prtev + p0003-bderr
2) modify the p0003-prtev with the hire date
2) delete per batch-input map all the infotypes (it takes time !)
3) create 2012 infotypes for adjusting the time quotas and the time accounts with the values stored a the first step
4) put the original (from first step) p0003-prtev and p0003-bderr.
Can anybody give me some advise? I'm not sure that's the right method.

I am already using the refresh_table_display . it will refresh and dispaly the all the changed data . but i want again make changes to the output and trigger save the data.and screen should be reday for next save .In my case i can save the data at one time then i will refresh the table and i am makning the screen reday for input when user double clicks using the following code .

but user dont expect to double click . the output should be reday for making any number of cahnges and any number of time save .

Oracle data miner

Hello,
I am new to Oracle, I am planning on implementing a credit card fraud management system as my academic project... I wanted to get my hands dirty with oracle for quite some time and thought that it might be a good idea to develop a fraud management system using Java and oracle.
I don't know anything about oracle-data-miner. All I know is it provides you with certain models, and you can train your data and then check the predictions from those models using simple queries.. What I want to know is: Is that everything that oracle data miner provides? bunch of models/algorithms, can I write a new algorithm or modify an existing one ?
I am sorry for such silly question, but any help regarding this is highly appreciated.

Oracle data miner error

AA. i have a problem in oracle data miner 11.1.0.4 when i tried to start it with my connection ,the following error msg appeared :
Listener refused the connection with the following error:
ORA-12528, TNS:listener: all appropriate instances are blocking new connections
The connection descriptor used by the client was :localhost: 1521:orcl
please help me if u can.

It could be that the db is in a restricted state.
You could try the following using sql worksheet on a sysdba connection:
alter system disable restricted session;
If this solves the problem, great, but then the question is, why is it in a restricted state.
Data Miner, during upgrade or when a repository is dropped, puts the db into restricted mode.
If there is a failure during one of these processes, then it could be possible that the db was left in a restricted mode.
This generally should not happen when using Data Miner to perform these administrative actions, but could come up when running the scripts manually.

How do I get the text to flow throughout more then one page.

I am currently using LiveCycke Designer to create a scholarship for my company. I created fields for the form and I would like to insert a text to describe the scholarship. When I insert the text, it doesn't flow onto the next page. I've tried creating a subform and clicking "flowed" and "allow page breaks within content". I also clicked auto-fit for the height, but it just makes a line. For the text box, I've clicked "Expand to fit on the height". It is also a dynamic XML Form. Is there anything else I should be doing?
I could always send the file to someone to see if they can figure it out.

Here is the corrected form..Even you you set the Subform type to "Flowed" to the subform where the Text box resides, you did not set the Page1 to Flowed (which is the key)..But when I make the Page1 type to "Flowed", all your fields above the Scholrship text boxes' Subform will go one below another.. To fix this, first I have select all the fields and wrap them into a subform and then set the Page1 to Flowed..

Hi !
I have a problem and two solutions and I am a bit confused as to
which one is the best one and/or can there be any better way of
handling the problem ?
Problem : I have to update a key field of a table when I update
it in the form 5.0 screen. I am basically doing a maintenance of
a table and if a certain field is updated then the change has to
be reflected in two more tables. But the issue is that the field
is a part of the key in those two tables. So all I can think of
is that I need to insert new set or rows for that new value of
the field and delete the old set of records for old values of
the field.
There are two ways of doing it;
1.One option can be to explicitely define two cursors separately
and fetch the values in them one by one and then insert the new
records and then delete the old records in both the tables. This
I feel will be a cumbersome process both in terms of processing
time and the coding.
2.Second option I was thinking can be to create two flat tables
(without keys) and insert the values in them and update the
changed field there and then insert the rows in the respective
tables. Delete the old records in the main tables and delets the
records in these flat tables. This is a bit more faster and
easier to predict and code. This seems to be a better option for
me.
Any comments on these ?
In both the cases I was thinking of making some provision so
that more then one person can't update the table simultaneously.
Since if there are more then one persons doing the processing
then some inconsistency might creep into the whole process.
This is easier to do in the second process as if I check the
data in the flat tables and if there is some data then I can
presume that some one is doing the processing and I can ask the
other person to hold for a while. But in this case how can I
stop more then two people to simultaneously check for the empty
table and start inserting the record ?
I was just thinking of having a sepatare table having only one
field and this will be a key field and as the process begins the
process will insert a fix value say 'Y' in the key field and at
the end of the process the record will be deleted and this way
we can restrict the user to access the process more then one at
a time..? Since you can't have same value of the key in a table
more then once.
Any better way of handling it will be deeply appreciated.
How about locking the table at the begining and releasing the
lock at the end ? Will there be any issue in that? since I am
inserting and deleting the rows in the same transaction.

How about performing the update IN the database using a stored
procedure?
By using non-database fields on your form to get the
information, you can then call the procedure in the database to
perform the updates. If an error occurs in the procedure you
rollback, if necessary, and send a message or status back to the
form. If it succeeds you might wish to commit and then re-
execute the form's query -- using either the original key values
or the new key values...
