Oracle DBadapter polling error

Hi,
When I try to create a simple dbadapter service (in the delete records from control table(Bpel version 10.1.3) it fails to deploy. Note that teh standard samples deploy well.
The error I get in jdeveloper is Given below.

check the number of processes in the database, and then check the maximum.
As you may be getting a maximum number of processes error, and can't create the required BPEL processes.
If so, increase the number of processes in the database.

I have a requirement to poll a database table withing an asynchronous process. The reason I want to use a receive within an asynchronous BPEL is because the process needs to be notified many times thru polling. So might need many receive activities.
I have developed a process as described below :-
1. Created an asynchronous process.
2. Created a Database adapter for polling a table. Logical delete strategy is being used.
3. Have put a receive activity from the DB Adapter created.
4. Created a correlation set consisting of a single property(String)
5. Created a property alias to refer to
a. the input string of the asynchronous process. (unique for this process)
b. the input from the database adapter (unique for this process)
I initiate this process from the console. Then I inserted a record the table with proper inputs.
But the BPEL waits indefinitely at the receive activity.
When I try to poll the table from an empty BPEL process, it works perfectly fine.

Please refer the following sample for your usecase.
Though Please be aware that one instance of BPEL process will correlate with only one message if you have one receive activity. Not all the messages tht DBAdapter polls.

If you want to keep polling and receiving the messages in the same BPEL process you might have to put the receive activity in a while loop construct. But as a design this is not a good design.
Can you elaborate your requirement to understand better and suggest better solution.

DBadapter polling on multiple nodes

I have a RAC which has 3 nodes. I deploy the DBadapter polling process it gets deployed on all three nodes. Thus all 3 nodes are picking up the same record from the database.
I cant use reserved flag that DBadapter offers due to some constraints. Is there a way i can turn off polling on the 2 nodes and let polling continue on the single node?

You can use the 'Update Sequence Table' polling strategy and use same Sequence table for all the 3 nodes.
Sequence table stores the 'Primary Key' of the last record read by DB Adapter. And when the DB adapter polls
next, it will pick all the records having primary key greater than the one stored in the 'sequence table'
So when the polling process takes place at node 1, it will update the 'Sequence Table' with the primary key of the
last record read. And when it goes to node 2 and node 3, it won't pick up the same records as their primary key will be less than or equal to the one stored in sequence table.

O1034 Oracle not available error

Right, I'm running on a Windows Xp platform, I've installed ok and it runs ok. I have manually altered the password of user HR from within sqlplus, and everything is fine.The problem comes when I switch off and switch back on, I am unable to start the database.
Running sqlplus system/password gives me ORA-01034 Oracle not available and ORA-27101: Shared memory realm does not exist.
I have tried running stobdb.bat and startdb.bat which both run ok, but I still get the oracle not available error when going into sqlplus. It seems that the PC does not install the oracle set up on booting perhaps? I also cannot access the "Go to database home page", from my web browser, but I'm not sure if it is necessary to access that home page?

We are seeing this a little bit, and not sure what is causing it at this stage. Starting the database manually seems to help, or at least points to the root cause problems.
The steps to start the database manually are posted at Re: ORA-01033 after starting and trying to connect. and also posted below
To shutdown manually go to the SQL Command Line (as the OS user that installed Oracle).
At the SQL Prompt SQL> issue
connect / as sysdba
For example
SQL> connect / as sysdba
Connected.
Then type
shutdown immediate;
You should see the following
SQL> shutdown immediate;
Database closed.
Database dismounted.
ORACLE instance shut down.
Then type
startup
You should see the following
SQL> startup
ORACLE instance started.

Does oracle log general errors

Dear experts,
I am using Oracle 11.2.0.3. I am researching on random ORA-00900:     invalid SQL statement error that we are seeing in production. Does oracle log such errors in alert.log or any tables? If not can we configure to log such errors?

Dont understand.... you are seeing ORA-00900 in production but don't know where to search this error? where do you see it?It is being logged from application in event log which I do not have access to. I wanted to check if oracle also logs such error some where.

DBAdapter Polling service timing out.

I have created a composite application which is polling data (sync operation for in order delivery) from a table then making an asynchronous call to another webservice. The other async service can take upto 5 minutes based on the long running BPEL process and some retries.
The first service polls the records without any issue and call the asyn service, the BPEL process then has a receive activity to receive the callback from async service.
Even though the receive activity is still waiting the dbadapter polling activity is timing out. It then goes on to create another instance for the same record. The next instance again times out and it ends in a loop kind of scenario.
To fix this issue I need some setting for the dbadapter not to time out. Instead it should wait till the receive activity gets the call back. Can you please let me know what settings needs to be changed and where?

For the async service the property is already set to "async.persist". I have also tried both required and requiresNew for bpel.config.transaction property.
The problem is that the dbadapter polling service is timing out.
Note that the polling dbadapter is doing a logical delete. N for not yet processed, R for reserved and finallly Y for processed. On the first instance it picks the record and marks it as 'R'. When timeout occurs it rolls back the transaction so it's marked as N again. Next instance picks up the record again while in the first instance the receive (for async) activity is still waiting.

ORA-01034: ORACLE not available error while creating ASM or database

I am using oracle database 10gR2 on windows 2000 pro system.
I have Installed oracle software and there was no issue with that but now I am facing ORA-01034: ORACLE not available error while trying to create asm instance or even while creating database through dbca.
I have tried creating the asm instance manually and it was succeeded. Also database creation was successful through manual steps.
Any idea guys?? How to resolve this issue??

You can work entirely in Xcode by using the command-line tool template in C. Xcode > File > New > Project > Command-Line Tool > Next > Language: C > Next > Create.
If you do want to work on the command line, you may as well just use the "clang" program instead. The "gcc" tool is just a compatibility tool for existing scripts that are expecting the actual "gcc" program. Apple hasn't used the real "gcc" for years. (Read up on the GPLv3 for more information.)
The gcc/clang arguments are the same. The "-c" flag instructs the compiler to only compile a single .c file into a .o object file. It won't create an executable. If you are only compiling a single source file, just omit the "-c" flag and the compiler will create an executable named "a.out" that you can run by typing "./a.out". You can specify "-o <executable name>" if you want to specify a name. Once you get more than a handful of source files, using the terminal starts to become a hassle. At that point, you definitely want to start using Xcode.
I'm not sure why you would try to compile "helloworlddot1.c" and then get an error message about "filename.c". Something else is wrong.
If you are working in the Terminal, it is easiest to use the "cd" command to move into the same directory as your source files. Then you don't have to keep typing the full path.
It is hard to say what the "best" community is. There are many to choose from.

Can anyone here please help me with oracle sql developer error
My problem is that i have installed oracle sql developer as a root and now when i execute the following command

From what you have shown us, we can't tell that you have installed java. What do you get from the following command?
/opt/oracle/softwares/jdk1.5.0.19/bin/java -versiontheFurryOne

I have created a request and added it to the dashboard. I have scheduled the request using Delivers. I have created an iBOT and when i save it the following error is thrown. What cud be the reason?

DbAdapter + Polling not working

Hello
I work with Fusion Middleware 11g + JDeveloper 11.1.1.4.0.
I have created a SOA Project, then added a DbAdapter to poll data every 15 seconds from a table.
I also added a BPEL Process.
I connected the output of the DbAdapter to the BPEL Process Input (one way).
When I deploy to the soa "default" domain, I do not see any instance of my service.
Should I see as many instances as there is polling ? I only see "0" as instances.
Should I start the dbAdapter polling manually ?

Things to check when working with DbAdapter...
1. Have you created the data source on Admin Console under Services > Data Sources ?
2. Under Deployments > DbAdapter > Outbound Connection Polls ... do you see your eis/DB/xxxx connection there ?
3. Is the eis/DB/xxxx exactly the same name that you have in your .jca file ?
4. If you click on your eis/DB/xxxx connection do you see values for dataSourceName or xADataSourceName ?
5. Is the value of dataSourceName or xADataSourceName exactly the same as the jndi name of the data source created on step 1 ?
6. If everything looks alright then browse the JNDI tree and see if you can find the data souce and the eis/DB/xxx there, if it's not there you may have to restart the server...

What version of client are you trying to install? I'd go with 11.2.0.2 to rule out any known issues with the OUI.
11202 is available on MOS. If you don't have Oracle Support to be able to access MOS, 11201 is available in the downloads section on OTN.

Hi, I've setup oracle client tools on a windows server that runs sql server 7
tnsping works as well as the client tool test feature on my sid.
However, I can't seem to use it from SQL Server. I've installed and uninstalled the client tools many times, I'm beginning to think perhaps I installed the wrong package. Weird thing is there is no Listener listed in Windows Services, yet the listener I setup is working.
I enabled the allow in process property of both the MSADAORA and Oracle OLE drivers from SQL Server, help!!

The MS OLEDB for Oracle was built some time ago and requires an older SQL*Net version:
OLE/DB provider returned message: Oracle client and networking components were not found. These components are supplied by Oracle Corporation and are part of the Oracle Version 7.3.3 or later client software installation.
=> see Oracle Version V7.3.3 ... but you have installed V10; so the OLEDB driver from MS tries to locate old SQL*Net client library files which are not available in your installation anymore.
So best would be to use the Oracle OLEDB driver coming with the SQL*Net client you have installed.
As you mentioned this causes a different error:

This error is related to the OLEDB process running by default in "out-of-process" mode which doesn't work with Oracle OLEDB driver. By setting a key in the registry under SQL Server this can be changed to run in-process (the default) the provider will work:
     HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSSQLServer\Providers\ORAOLEDB.ORACLE
Change the value of the key "AllowInProcess" under the "OraOLEDB.Oracle" folder
to a hexadeciaml value of 1.
If the key does not exist create it as a new DWORD value.

oracle warehouse builder error when I execute any mapping:
I have installed OWB successfuly, It still no longer working correctly: it executed all the mappings, but it suddenly becomes incapable to execute any mappings in any project. It validates successfuly the mappings but in the execution it show the message :
" ora-06550 : ligne1 colonne19..."
please help me to correct this error.

Make sure that there is no primary key or index on this table who exceed the limit.
