Oracle Error on 7.5 Install
I am trying to install ZAM Inventory 7.5 on a Windows 2003 server connecting to an Oracle 10G database. The install repeatedly errors out after encountering this error:
PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
from all_tables
ERROR at line 6:
ORA-06550: line 6, column 7:
PL/SQL: ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
ORA-06550: line 5, column 2:
PL/SQL: SQL Statement ignored
Table created.

PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
I worked with our dba who has limited time and he said that it wasn't giving the user it creates, NCSystem, the proper rights to the db. At one point we ran the install and as soon as he saw the user created he gave it these rights but the installer ended up erroring out later in the process for reasons I couldn't determine. It seems to me something is fundamentally not right if it is failing on this and searching around I haven't been able to find anyone else getting the same problem. I get this error installing form different machines and I am convinced it is a problem with the db. Has anyone run into this error before or have an idea how to solve it? Any help would be much appreciated.

Oracle 9i, "Error in invoking target install of..."
Hi :),
When running the Ora9i Universal Installer, I got this pop-up window error:
" Error in invoking target install of makefile /opt/oracle/OraHome1/plsql/lib/ins_plsql.mk "
I tried to fix it as explained in http://www.puschitz.com/InstallingOracle9i.shtml#OracleInstallationErrors but after executing the genclntsh script I got this message:
collect2: ld terminated with signal 11 [Segmentation fault]
ar: creating /opt/oracle/OraHome1/lib/libclntst9.a
Created /opt/oracle/OraHome1/lib/libclntst9.a
Could you please give me a hand with this?
Cheers!
p.s. I'm using Linux Debian sid

Oracle 9.0.1on RH 9: "Error in involking target install of make file"
I have complete 100% for install Oracle 9.0.1 i on RH 9
But the problem happen during second step, is Oracle Configuration. when I finished 62% the error message occure. It is
"Error in involking target install of make file
/opt/oracle/product/9.0.1/plsql/lib/ins_plsql.mk"
I try to solve this solution by set LD_SELF_CONTAINED=""
in z/opt/oracle/product/9.0.1/bin/genclntsh file.
after that i run /opt/oracle/product/9.0.1/bin/genclntsh
the error is: "cp: cannot stat '/DISCARD/'"
Please help me...I don't remember where on OTN I found this, but if you haven't already, you need to install binutils-2.11.90.0.8-13.i386.rpm. Also, make sure you have K shell installed, make a symbolic link (ln -s /sbin/fuser /bin/fuser), have /usr/bin as the first entry in your $PATH. All of the above should be stated on the first 'popup window' during the install.

( prerequisite checks at the beginning of install process where fine)The Installer checks prerequisites as successful..
I believe (hope I step on the right way) it could be caused by:

a) Do the directory where you extracted your software (Disk1) and under Disk1 you should see following folders. Is WT.zip present ?

install libskgxn plugins response stage WT.zip

b) As Courtney mentioned, you ignore a pre-req failure and i suspect that you do not have glibc package on your host.

Regards,
UmairHi,
You can follow the below action plan
1) If you have 10.2.0.2 software available in other location, then go to ORACLE_HOME/bin
script relink.log
./relink all
exit
check before the upgrade the relinking is working fine or not
If not this problem exist before the upgrade itself.
Note: For proper relinking of oracle binaries you need install all required OS packages as per the article 169706.1
2) if no error found in relink.log then log a ticket with oracle and it could be problem with specific release
Kind Regards,

Oracle 8.1.6 EE install to Windows 2000
Using Windows 2000 Advanced Server on a Compaq Proliant 3000, fresh install. Install Oracle 8iR2 (8.1.6) Enterprise Edition, accept default locations, choose typical install. Using the download from the Oracle Technet download pages (have tried downloading several times to make sure) and beginning from autorun.exe.
It doesn't install. I've tried on other machines too. I get an I/O error at the Intermedia install stage (it displays vszip.dll as the current file).
I can't think of anything I'm doing wrong and I've tried on other boxes and with custom install settings.
Any ideas appreciated?
JasonHi,
I'm new with Oracle, and I'm having problems installing the database v8i on Windows XP-Home. My classmates have successfully installed it with both XP-Pro and XP-Home. The problem is that when I click on the Install icon, the disk spins for a while, then nothing happens, and the installation doesn't even start. When I list the files on the CD and click on the setup file and select Run from the pull down menu, and enter my user name (which has administrator privileges) and password, Oracle opens a window with a message that the registry cannot be modified because I don't have permissions, and closes down.
I know the CD is good, because I tried in a different computer. Are there any settings on Windows that I'm missing? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
