Oracle Explorer not Visible in VS 2005

Hi,
Uses: VS 2005 Pro; Oracle 9i Remote Database(Live); Oracle 10g Express Edition(Production); Windows Xp sp3+;
I have my computer which is installed with Oracle 10g Express Edition and I 'm able to connect to the local Oracle XE as well as to the Remote Server which has Oracle 9i. Further I could work with Oracle.DataAccess.client as with my .NET applications. However some tools as Oracle Explorer is not visible in the View menu of my VS 2005.
While reading some articles I came to know that this tools comes with Oracle's Developer Tools for Visual Studio.
My question here is since I have already installed Oracle XE and it has installed Oracle client itself, will there be a conflict while installing Oracle Developer Tools in the same machine?
If I'm mistaken here, pls tell me how can I be able to create TableAdapters using Oracle.DataAccess.client instead of System.Data.Oracle?

FYI - Oracle Explorer is no longer provided with newer releases. You use Server Explorer instead.
You can install ODAC version 11 so that you get the latest Visual Studio features. No, there wont be a conflict.
Just allow it to install it in a new Oracle Home (new directory) and you should be fine.

Oracle Explorer not appearing in VS2005 after installing ODT 11.1.0.6.20

this was installed for both vs2003 & vs2005. Installation completed successfully.
loading up vs2003 for first time after ODT i was able to select Oracle Explorer option from the View menu, connect successfully and perform actions as expected.
loading up vs2005 for first time after ODT install i got an initial error saying "Command with same name already exists" - this error only occured the once.
in vs2005 the Oracle Explorer option does not exist in the view menu, but it has added the oracle data items to my toolbox. And in the VS About option it says Oracle Developer Tools for Visual Studio 11.1.0.6.20 is installed.
Where is my oracle explorer!!

Hi, Oracle Explorer was replaced by Server Explorer in VS 2005 onward. Please open up Server Explorer, add a new connection, and choose "ODP.NET" from the list of Data Providers.

Folder created in Windows Explorer not visible in Command Line as SYSTEM user

Hello everyone,
We have an odd behavior with an application installation, which I cannot make much sense of.
We are trying to deploy an application on Windows 8.1 Enterprise x64 which tries to access
C:\windows\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop during installation.
This folder does not exist by default in a Windows 8.1 installation. Hence we am creating this folder using a VBS script manually. The VBS script also launches the application EXE. The setup itself runs under the SYSTEM account (in order to be deployed using
SCCM).
When the install script is launched, we can see in the Windows Explorer that the "Desktop" folder is created in the systemprofile directory. However, to the setup running under the system account, this folder is not visible.
I have verified this by running a command line prompt under the SYSTEM user and navigating to
C:\windows\system32\config\systemprofile\. Using the "dir" command does not show you a "Desktop" folder under the EXACT same path.
When we create the Desktop folder from this command prompt, the application installs just fine.
What are we missing? Any inputs are highly appreciated.

Might this need to quit the command prompt after the folder creation, then reload it to continue the installation of the software?

CCMS alert monitoring data for ORACLE is not visible in Central system

Hello,
I have installed sapccm4x agents in the CI of the Satellite System and it shows in the Central System as sucessfully registered under Agents for remote System and the RFC Connection test is also successfull. When i check in RZ20 in Central System not all the predefined monitors are visible of the Satellite System in the Central System and mainly the MTE element ORACLE. The database,CI and other instances on the Satellite System are installed on separate hardware. As said the database is installed not with the CI but a standalone.
Please let us know what needs to be configured in order to get the MTE element of ORACLE to show in the Central System.

1.Sapccmsr agent is installed on Java standalone server and it has been sucessfully registered and running and we can grep the process to see its state as well as in the Central System i can see under ccms agents for remote systems it shows and the RFC connection test is also sucessfull.
2.Yes we are sending the data from the DB to CI first,but we also want the data visible in the Central System mainly for the MTE element Oracle.The filesystem of the Satellite Systems shows up in the Central System but i am intrested to capture the MTE element Oracle since we plan to monitor the tablespaces threhold .
I am thinking of opening an SAP message but i am trying to see if i can get some info that can give me the result.

New folder created in Windows explorer not visible in Bridge.

If I create a new folder in My Pictures
folder using Windows Explorer, it doesn't show up in Bridge
. I do it that way because selecting
Get Photos from Camera doesn't allow me to select only the photos I want from the card. Why does Bridge not show all folders in My Pictures. I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. This message is formatting rather strangely.

Libraries rely on a good bit of "magic" that has been added to Explorer.
My advice: Avoid them like the plague. They do nothing you can't do by organizing your folders yourself, but they cause a host of problems. I've disabled them in my system and in a year I haven't missed them one bit. I'm all the happier for it.
Windows 7 is a great system, but one of its weak points is [some parts of] Windows Explorer. I think the same people programmed Explorer as made those awful commercials.

Oracle Explorer in VS2003 not working

I've installed the latest beta and everything "seems" good until I try to add a new connection in the Oracle Explorer.
I select the server from the pulldown, enter my name and password, and hit the "Test Connection" button, and nothing happens. No error. No lock up. Just nothing. If I hit "Save" the same thing happens - nothing. I can "cancel" and try again but with no help.
My PC was previously installed with client for 8i only, and Toad. All of that still works fine.
During this install I created a new home for 10g as suggested.
The first time I went into Visual Studio, the dropdown list had no entries. I figured out that the new 10g home didnt have a tnsnames file, so I copied my tnsnames file from the 8 home ito the 10 home and went back into Visual Studio. This time the dropdown was populated.
So, I'm trying to use it to create a database connection, and it just doesn't do anything. I've gone into the Net Manager and everything works there. My TOAD still works too.
Can anyone help?

Thanks Jimmy. I sure thought the latest beta was for BOTH 2005 and 2003. But anyway, I've downloaded the older version that says it is only for 2003.
I couldn't find a way to effectively uninstall the 2005 one... I installed the 2003 one in a new Oracle "Home" and I've gotten one step better.....
Now when I try to add a connection, I get an error "Object reference not set to an instance." Not in MY code, mind you, in the code that runs when you just hit the "Test Connection" button.
I'll be searching for answers to THAT....

Oracle Explorer in VS 2005.

My oracle explorer is not working in VS 2005. The View menu is showing the Oracle Explorer option and when clicks in it, the explorer window is not showing. I tried to reinstall odp.net. But not working. If anyone have any idea, please help me.

I was also experiencing almost same problem, when i install the Dev Tool, & click on View->Oracle Explorer,i got the following message

Tab Not Visible in Internet Explorer 10

We have developed application using oracle apex 4 and oracle 11g xe as database. Application runs perfect in Internet Explorer 8 and 9, Recently we upgraded browser to IE10 problem we are facing is there are more than 10 tabs in the application all the tabs are not visible in the application. Please suggest me how to fix this issue.

The fix you want is for the 10 tabs to work again in IE. Oh, boy! I hope someone can help with that.
But stepping back for a moment, 10 is a lot of tabs. Is 10 tabs all there will ever be? What if you need an 11th tab? I'm pointing out that it might be time to consider changing the way navigation is done. Now no one likes to comtemplate all the work and user disrutpion of changing the navigation method. But there's only so much room for displaying tabs.
But please see {thread:id=2519792} for some ideas.

New folder is not visible inside my project but shows in Windows Explorer.

I created a new folder under another folder. The new folder is not visible inside my project but shows in Windows Explorer. Also, if I try to add another folder of that same name, it denies the action since the folder (although invisible) already exists. My co-worker can access the same file (on a share drive) and see the new folder just fine. This error occurs whether I was the one creating the new folder or she is the one creating the new folder. I am new to RoboHelp and she has used it for years. I suspect something is not yet set up right on my side. Ideas? (I thought I posted this yesterday but I can't find it anywhere)

Did you create the folder from inside RoboHelp or did you create it using Windows Explorer?

In Explorer drop dowl list is not visible for Entities, Hierarchies, Collection

I am using SQL Server 2012 MDS on Windows 8.1 Pro. The drop down list of entities, Hierarchies, and collections is not visible on explorer screen. When I hover over the Entity menu the drop down seems to appear but hiding behind the rest of the screen.
Same issue with Hierarchy and Collections menu. To get to entities list I have to click on explorer menu and then the drop downs start showing up.

SQL Expression Fields button not visible in Field Explorer

On my Crystal Reports installation I can see the button SQL Expression Fields in Field Explorer but it is not visible on client's installation.
How do I make it visible? I need to create a new report with SQL query for client.

Commands are intended to replace the standard linked tables that must users are accustomed to.
I suppose Commands would be considered an "advanced" feature, considering that they require the developer to be able to hand write SQL (our at least copy it from another SQL editor).
If you are comfortable writing reading, writing & editing SQL, Commands will open a the door to a whole new level of control when it comes to creating your data sets.
The biggest problem w Commands is also it's greatest strength... If you're using a Command, CR will assume that you know what you're doing and will not try to rewrite or optimize your SQL in the background. You write it, CR sends it. That means if you write crappy SQL, CR will send your crappy SQL to the db server...
It also means that you can use join types that aren't available in CR and use sub-queries in in your SQL... Basically anything you can do in the db's native editor.

Oracle 10G Commit Not Visible

I have a commit or concurrency issue I hope someone can shed some light on.
I'm building rows in a reporting table via several stored procedures and reporting on the results.
The final stored procedure uses the rows built by the initial stored procedures and occasionally, the rows initially created are not visible to the final stored procedure.
Is there a way to force Oracle to COMMIT the rows and WAIT so there are 100% visible to subsequent stored proccedures?

So what is causing procedure 4 to run before those others have completed? You need to ensure it doesn't run until such a time.

Oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleTypes is not visible

We are migrating one application from Weblogic 8.1 SP6 to Weblogic 10.3.
Earlier in Weblogic 8.1 SP6 we have been used oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleTypes class which is there in ojdbc14.jar.
But when i am trying use same class in Weblogic 10.3 getting error as oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleTypes is not visible.
When i checked the ojdbc6.jar(replacement for ojdbc14) oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleTypes class is there.

Ole object not visible on oracle report

Hi,
I have an oracle report built in oracle report 6i builder I have used a Boilerplate OLE Object(image.bmp) in the report but when I am executing the report on Oracle E Business(Application) then that OLE object is not visible on the report output(output is in the pdf format).
Please help me out with this

If you want to display an image on your report, use Link File as item type in the Layout Editor.
Note that the image has to be accessable from the Reports Server.
