Load Plan in oracle bi Applications Configurations Manager creating issues
Hi All,
I have installed oracle data integrator + BI Apps. I had created a load plans in Administer Execution Plans (ie. select payroll subject area ) to load payroll fact. Everything went will till this point.
But when i start executing the package i am getting weird errors. The errors are as follows:
In the SDE_ORA_TRANSACTION_TYPEDIMENSION_PO_LINES_TYPE package is failing in the step "Insert flow into I$ table" . When i checked the logs ===> "insert /*+ APPEND */ into TEMP_BIAPPS.I$17_W_XACT_TYPE_DS".. I can see that it is using "PO_LINE_TYPES_V.ORDER_TYPE_LOOKUP_CODE" directly.
from TEMP_BIAPPS.C$17_2W_XACT_TYPE_DS RIGHT JOIN (TEMP_BIAPPS.C$17_1W_XACT_TYPE_DS RIGHT JOIN TEMP_BIAPPS.C$17_0W_XACT_TYPE_DS ON LKP_XACT_TYPES.XACT_TYPE_CODE = PO_LINE_TYPES_V.ORDER_TYPE_LOOKUP_CODE) ON LKPTRANS.XACT_TYPE_CODE1 = PO_LINE_TYPES_V.PURCHASE_BASIS
So its throwing invalid identifier as we are executing this in the data ware house and PO_LINE_TYPES_V is in EBS.
When i do execute this directly from the ODI Designer by executing the package i am not getting this error. Instead of the "PO_LINE_TYPES_V.ORDER_TYPE_LOOKUP_CODE" i was getting the " C1_XACT_TYPE_CODE".
FROM
TEMP_BIAPPS.C$17_2W_XACT_TYPE_DS RIGHT JOIN (TEMP_BIAPPS.C$17_1W_XACT_TYPE_DS RIGHT JOIN TEMP_BIAPPS.C$17_0W_XACT_TYPE_DS ON C14_XACT_TYPE_CODE = C1_XACT_TYPE_CODE) ON C13_XACT_TYPE_CODE1 = C3_XACT_TYPE_CODE1
Can any one let me know how i can resolve this issue ?Hi ,

Difference between Oracle Financial Consolidation Hub and Hyperion Financial Management
Dear All,
Greetings!
We are at a client site where the existing consolidation process is performed using the Oracle Financial Consolidation Hub (FCH)
The client is interested to migrate or utilize the power of Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and want to utilize Hyperion going forward
Queries:
1. Can we integrate or migrate the Oracle FCH to HFM
2. What are the major differences between Oracle FCH and HFM - functionally and technically?
3. Which is more advantageous considering the growth potential, future opportunities of expansion of the company?
Any help on this query (at the earliest) is highly appreciated as we have the real scenario in hand.
Thanks
SwamiFCH was a product launched by Oracle to counter Hyperion Financial Management. However, it is not a proven tool. HFM has a very good market standing coupled with its other reporting capabilities. Also, HFM is a industry leader now.
Financial Consolidation Hub will be removed from the Oracle E-Business Suite Component. FCH will not be included with Release 12.1. This is why, customers are advised to move to Hyperion Financial Management.
An automatic migration utility from FCH to HFM has not been implemented. FCH customers who wish to implement Hyperion Financial Management will have to install the application and complete the implementation process manually. -
Changing the dimension hierarchy level keys in RPD online mode caused issue
Hi,
We tried to correct the dimension hierarchy level keys and remove prefered drill path settings in the business model layer in RPD in online mode. However this caused all the reports and dashboards based off of this subject area to show incorrect, and/or restricted data. The physical query generated by the answers requests were also incorrect.
Even restarting the server and presentation services could not resolve the issue. Can someone please help us to understand what could have caused this issue?
Thanks in advanceHi,
I am not sure why the existing reports throw an error when I change the RPD dimension hierarchy level keys. Does anyone know how I resolve this issue.
This is urgent. Any help will be most appreciated.
Thanks in advance. -
Oracle Dimension to OBIEE Dimension/Hierarchy
Is there a way to automatically (script etc.) generate an OBIEE dimension from an Oracle database dimension object?
Can you please elaborate your question? If your question is to directly create a dimesion in OBIEE from database table through some script then i dont think its possible.
You need to import table, create joins and then take it to BMM layer and then you can create a dimesnional hierarchy on top of it.

Installing and Configuring Oracle Financial Close Management 11.1.2 & FDM
In Oracle Financial Close Management 11.1.2 & Oracle FDM are same???
totally different products, I'm afraid.
FDM is Financial Data Quality Management, pretty much a SOX compliant ETL tool.
Financial Close management is a diferent product -

Oracle Business Intelligence Dimension hierarchy question
Hi,
I am prasanna.I have a problem while display the data from dimension hierarchy.I have created a time dimension hierarchy.I can drill down upto week number but i m unable to display the time_id(this is the last level of the hierarchy). When i check the properties of the time_id,the HIDE check is checked.Even if i uncheck the checkbox also i m unable to display that column. How to change properties of the column manually.I can find the column at the criteria but not at results tab.How can i display the column.
Thanks ,
prasannaHI Prasanna,
what is the least granularity for your time dimension? is at week level or day level. verify the dim hier configuration in rpd. if you define time_id as level key you dont get that column in answers results while drilldown. you may create another logical column and drag it to week level as an attribute then you will get it. and why do you need time id in answers. generally we dont use id's for reporting.
try again after above configuration and you will be all set.
Thanks

Oracle ADF/BC4J vs "other" Java/J2ee technologies. Influence a decision
Dear All,
Our dev group is now at the stage when we need to make a decision which way to go - "proprietary" Oracle ADF/BC4J route or open source/java/j2ee standard. In our group we have a mix of Oracle Foms, pl/sql and java developers. The problem is that our core java developers are strictly against any proprietary thing, and they do not really want to even take a look at ADF/BC4J claiming that when it comes to resolving performance and other issues we will be better off with open source, rather than depend on Oracle...
I am coming from an Oracle centric world, and to me ADF is a natural choice, however I do not have a lot of experience in Java/J2EE to post a strong argument for or against ADF and BC4J.
I am just wondering if there is a case study, or comprehensive cons and pros for one or the other path.
I will greatly appreciate anyone's answer.
Thank you,
VO"When it comes resolving performance and other issues we will be better off with open source."Really? How - are they planning to go into the hibernate/spring engine and fix the problems? Or do they have a specific "support" contract with some company that will guarantee them fixes to these issues? If they do have such a contract how much does this support costs the organization?
Where is the notion that open-source is faster coming from? Certainly not from actual benchmarks like this one: http://www.spec.org/jAppServer2004/results/
As Frank said your management might want to look into a more complete picture than what your Java developers are looking at.
For example, given that you have Forms based developers, how fast can they get up to speed with the open source solution vs the ADF solution?
I think a simple benchmark of productivity when building an application with the stack they are offering vs the ADF stack would prove the point even better.
Don't have time to run one have a look at the RAD Race results from this year where ADF based team beat up Spring based teams.

Hi everybody,
Is there a way to define a recursive dimension hierarchy in the Oracle BI Administration Tool???
Many thanks in advance!!!
Jorge.Jorge,
If you are referring to a parent-child hierarchy of the Manager-Employee type then its possible to model it in the BMM layer. It takes a little work but its doable. I have done it but dont recall the specifics.

I have installed Oracle 12c WLS & created a domain with just Admin server. It starts without error.
When i tried to extend the domain (WLS) to support ODI (Selecting only ODI Agents while extending). Domain got extended successfully.
But when i start the AdminServer, I am facing error as below.

Can any one help how to come out of this issue and make the odi server instance running along with admin server.
Regards
SeshaI am running into the same issue - installed wls, oracle schemas, etc, performed a config to extend the domain with webcenter components, now wls will not start - log below.

skjbHave you searched MOS website for (MDS-01370 AND MDS-00929) and go through the docs?
If none of MOS docs help, then please log a SR.

What does Apple plan to do about the JAVA issue?
I was out of town on business last week and took my brand new MacBook Pro with me to stay connected to my work VPN. However, I was unable to connect to the VPN the entire time I was away. I found out from out IT department today that it is due to Apple not allowing any programs that require JAVA. Is anyone else dealing with this issue? What is being done about it? If I cannot use my laptop to connect to my work VPN then it is useless to me. If Apple does not come up with a solution quickly, I will be returning my brand new MacBook Pro for a windows based laptop that allows me to function at work. This is a shame because I was very excited to have an apple laptop....very disappointing!
There was a major vulnerability in Java that was being actively exploited to drop malware on both Windows and Mac OS X. Oracle, who is responsible for Java, was slow to get a fix out, so Apple blocked the vulnerable versions of Java in the web browser. (Mozilla did the same with their Firefox browser.) Updates are now available for Java that work in Mac OS X again.
Java has been a repeat source of major vulnerabilities and malware over the last couple years. It is EXTREMELY insecure. If your business is relying on web-based Java applets for secure communications, your business' IT department is collectively insane.
