Oracle Forms 10G - Can't compile Form

Good day,
     I'm getting the following error message each time I try to compile my form:
Error 103 at line 2, column 1
     Encountered the symbol "METHOD_NAME_HERE" when expecting on of the following:
          :=.(@%;
     The symbol ":=" was substituted for "METHOD_NAME_HERE" to continue.
     Please advise.

To elaborate on what Sukrit posted, it is likely that the form is not an Acrobat forum but a Designer form or was set for distribution and is locked for editing. I suspect it was probably created in Designer and thus can only be completed in Acrobat or Reader since the PDF is really container for and XML structure and does not have the basics of a PDF document. If that is the case, you either need Designer or you can print to a new PDF and use the field recognition feature of Acrobat to recreate the form. Of course, the latter will require some editing to the form fields in most cases.

i am able to compile one form at a time but how do I compile all forms, for some reason I created a new form, ftp it, then compiled it , it runs in Oracle Apps environment however all other forms are inactive, I believe I have to recompile all forms (am i right?) but I dont know how to do this , here is the code I have to compile one form

I can't compile forms using telnet ....

i have an application server with linux redhat 4 software.
i have a shell that is named ' cpfdry.sh ' which is found on the path '\\192.9.200.2\apps\forms_to_compile'.
the contents of the shell is

when i want to complie a form i put it in that path beside the shell and just run the shell by double clicking it , and i get my form compiled and generating an FMX file.
but every time i have to go to the server which is located in another room. with every modification i have to recompile and have to go to the other room .
i tried to do the compilation process by using telnet , and then run the shell file from my machine , i did like the following

Forms 10g can't generate library!

I use forms 10g(Version 9.0.4.0.19 (Production)) for windows to create library, it can be complied, but it can't create plx file! It raise error "FRM-91507".
The testing library only contains a procedure which has 'null it.
Anyone has this problem? please advise.

You first need to find out what's causing the error before you can lookup whether a patch for this particuliar problem exists.
For that reason I suggest you try the NLS setting anyway.
Another option might be to start the Form Compiler (ifcmp60.exe) from the command line to generate the plx files
And make sure
- that the library is not in use. Otherwise it will be locked by the forms runtime
- the FORMS60_PATH contains the directory where the library (.pll) file is located.

Oracle Database 10g Express Edition and Forms 6i

Is it possible to combine those two in an application? I mean...can i make an application in Forms&Reports 6i with Oracle Database 10g Express Edition?

yes, it will work, but only with the Western European Edition, not the Unicode release.

Oracle forms 10g Parameter passing from forms to reports

Please let me know what is wrong with this code. It is not passing parameter at all to the reports 10g parameter form from forms 10g, no matter what. I tried to delete the parameter from reports parameter form, I also tried to enable/disable restricted values from reports, I tried to hide the parameter from reports, but it is just not doing it.

And finally I changed this line

But... But... even though I compile it properly the code is getting executed and it is giving the above error. Please note the same.
Also please tell me what should be the status of the following things in report builder 10g.
1. Shall I remove the parameters vcompany and vlocname from the parameter form and keep it just in parameters of report , There is a third parameter which I want the user to input while running the report other than these 2 parameters ?
2. Shall I restrict the parameter to predetermined values ?
3. Shall I hide the first column of the parameter in report builder.
I have also tried to simulate the execution parameters from batch to runtime and comm mode to synchronous and asynchronous and vice versa. I have also given command rwserver server = repsrv on my pc and also server pc. please let me know about this also whether I need to give this command every time ? I mean for every booting ?
As this problem is faced by many people. I think it should work across the fly as given by you or rather corrected by you. I would also like to know is there any patch available for the same released by oracle, as I have read somewhere in the forum here which I cannot locate the thread now. I do not mind paying for support if I find the need ?

Other product like po ,gl forms(fmx) not generated .

Running forms 10g on PC with Forms 6i

I am currently running Oracle Developer Suite 6i (6.0.8.23.2) 32 bit etc. on Windows XP on my PC.
I now want to load Forms 10g etc. on the same PC. Is this possible? Are there going to be any conflicts with two dirfferent versions on one PC?

It is possible. (I have the version 6i, 9.0.2 , 9.0.4 , 10gR2 and 11gR1 on the same PC)
The only point to take care of is the variable PATH.
You can create some BAT files that will set correctly the PATH for each version

Migrating MS SQL 2005 to Oracle 9i (sqlserver_utilities can't compile)

I am migrating a MS SQL 2005 database to an Oracle 9i database. I have the following installed:
•     Oracle 9i Enterprise Edition Release 9.2.0.1.0 –Production with the partitioning, Spatial, Olap, and Oracle data mining options.
•     Internal to Oracle SQL Developer (client-only) 1.5.0.53.04
•     JTDS JDBC Driver 11.4.4.53.01 oracle.sqldeveloper.thirdparty.drivers.sqlserver
•     Java(TM) Platform 1.5.0_06
The MS SQL 2005 Database consists out of multiple tables, views, stored procedures, functions and triggers. I tried quick migrate only to find that the migration failed.
For a simple migration test I created a test database in MSQL 2005. This database has a simple table with an identity field and a store procedure that does an insert into the table. I followed all the steps to migrate a sql database and everything seemed to work. In Oracle I can now find the migrated table and stored procedure. I also see that the migration tool has created a sequence to deal with the identity field (in combination with a trigger) . when I try to execute the insert stored procedure in Oracle it fails. When I started looking at the log messages I see:

I then noticed the sqlserver_utilities package compiled with errors. It seems that DBMS_DB_VERSION.VER_LE_9_2 and REGEXP_INSTR doesn’t exists. (see code beneath)

10g Form Developer Quits on compiling Forms connected to Sybase tables.

Dear Experts,
We have configured the connectivity for Sybase database with our oracle 9i database. using Hetero Geneous Service i.e using System_dsn ..etc.
On this Sybase connectivity 6i Forms are compiling and running successfully But with 10g Forms while compling it just close the 10g form developer.
For example....!
In 6i forms On Button Press trigger below insert command works perfectly.
But In 10g forms it say nothing and Just Quit.

1.) does it with with the forms compiler (frmcmp)?
2.) did you try creating a synonym for your object:
create synonym my_syn for sybase_table@SYBASE_DSN_DBLINK;and use this synonym?
3.) Did you try it with the latest patchsets if you didn't apply them (10.1.2.3 for forms)?
4.) Did you try it with another database version (9i reached sustaining support btw. so you might try it with e.g. 10.2)?
5.) If everything fails you can put your logic in a database procedure and use that?

Good.. I have a problem, when I want to compile the "form", in linux down(under) 9iAS. There throws a mistake that does not find bookshop libigo.so.0, but if they exist inside the directory(board of directors) Lib., it is bad, because all the feasible ones of the Bin, give the same problem with other bookshops .. it seemed that not this formed well....

I haven't had the opportunity to use Linux yet, but found an article, Note:136678.1, stating that you may get this type of error because of the desktop manager. Here's an excerpt from that article:
The error is raised on Redhat 6.0 after adding "/usr/X11R6/lib" to LD_LIBRARY_PATH.
After adding "/opt/gnome/lib" to LD_LIBRARY_PATH the problem is gone.
After adding "/opt/kde/lib" KDE works with KWM.
The only window manager that doesn't work now is "Enlightenment".
The be on the safe side you never should rely on the Window Manager or Desktop Manager default settings.
So always define this LD_LIBRARY_PATH when using Gnome on SuSE:
$ORACLE_HOME/lib:/usr/X11R6/lib:/opt/gnome/lib
And always define this LD_LIBRARY_PATH when using KDE on SuSE:
$ORACLE_HOME/lib:/usr/X11R6/lib:/opt/kde/lib
Bug 1422913 was filed for this problem and closed with status 92 (no bug) after the solution was found.
Bug 1413894 describes a similar problem - with different errors on Redhat Linux.

I can not compile form .vi to .rxe

I have a problem downloading a .vi project to the nxt brick.
Until yesterday I could compile from .vi to .rxe and donwload it in the brick a project done with Labview 2012 service pack 1 version 12.0.1(32bit) but I cannot do it anymore. I have tried to reset the brick and i have tried the option target to nxt, but i don't know if i have proved this last option correctly
