Hi, i have done a custom component (Filter) who permit to download attachement , but in a programmable way (i can control the size and the type of files that can be used and some business logic) .
my filter works great (late say i attach a jpeg image , if i enable the IBR convertion of the jpeg format , the filter stopped working !!)
my filter is defined like the following:

The indexes need to be synchronised for the items to be searched and returned. Hence until the next scheduled index update, the item will not be returned. To explicitly udpate the indexes, run the procedure in the portal database connected as the schema owner.

Oracle Text and Custom item type

I have a custom item type defined that has custom attributes. With Oracle Text disabled, I can use a custom search to find these items either by their standard attributes (name,description, etc.) or their custom attributes. However, as soon as I enable Oracle Text (and allow the indexing process to complete), I can no longer locate these items in a search.
I assume that I need to do something to tell Oracle Text to index these types of items, but could not find anything in documentation. Any assistance would be appreciated.
Also, assuming we get around the above issue, if I have Oracle Text enabled, does this mean I will not be able to find these items after they are created until the next scheduled index update? Is there away around this besides killing Oracle Text?

Developing on oracle analytics and custom analytics-approach/best practices

**I posted this on the OBIEE forum as well, but I am thinking this may be the more appropriate forum now**
For those out there using the Oracle BI applications (OPA, OFA) and developing within them and also managing custom analytics projects within the same repository on OBIEE I was curious as to how you managed the following:
1. Naming conventions. For example, we are following a particular naming standard and practice on our custom developed objects that does not necessarily 100% align to the naming standards pushed out by Oracle Analytics. Specifically, if you are adding a variable (dynamic or static) to OPA .. what naming standard do you follow? Does OPA have a naming standard for variables on the RPD (prefix, etc..)?
2. In general, do you find yourself having to make a lot of customizations/updates to the vanilla OPA install? And as you do identify them, what is your process for incorporating them into the vanilla install?

Yes, Oracle BI Apps .. specifically Project and Financial Analytics.
For example - we have a couple custom static variables we want to add and then use them as filters in the BMM layer on the Fiscal Calendar dimension. Are there any specific naming standards you would follow for creating those variables. It doesnt seem like there is a real naming convention use in the out of the box variables.

Please Help with Viewstack and custom component

I'm having trouble trying to embed a component within a
viewstack. I have my main applicaiton main.mxml application and the
calander control from quietly scheming (app.mxml) is the component.
The issue I'm having is how to have the calendar show within my
viewstack canvas. The app.mxml file namespaces below:

If I take the code out of app.mxml and plae it on my
viewstack canvas, I get all types of errors referencing functions
or components in the other namespaces.
Does this make any sense ? I just want to view the calendar
in the viewstack.

I guess I'm just not understanding the difference betweeen
the <local:app_code> in the app.mxml file and the
<mx:Application> in my main application.
If I run the app.mxml by itself, everything is fine. if I try
to take the code out and past it within the viewstack canvas I get
reference errors. It can't find the objects/functions from the
<local:app_code> namespace.
I guess I'm just confused on how to structure the entire
application.

Diff between oracle linux and oracle enterprise linux?

hi all,
i am new to this flavor of Linux. I know oracle linux has red hat source, but i am confused about the difference betweek oracle linux which comes in versions 4 (upto update 8) and 5 (latest update being 5).
i need to install oracle enterprise linux at a client place, so i gota know the difference.
Should i be installing oracle Linux first and then run the rpm of "Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel"? or is the "Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel" only for customers who require this kernal on oracle linux update 5 x86_64?

Thanks for your question. In order to create simulatable custom components in Multisim you need a SPICE model (Multisim can also understand PSpice Models). The file format for SPICE model can be different according to the manufacturer, for instance: *.cir, *.lib, *.llb. At the end of the day these files are text files that you can open with a text editor, therefore, you can simply copy and paste the model in Multisim.

When you reach the step where you need to enter the SPICE model, simply open the *.lib or *.olb file with a text editor, and copy and paste the model.

Custom component and non-primitive types of attributes

I try to develope a custom UI component that one of its attribute is an ArrayList. For example:

By the way, is your Matrix component fully completed including its children components?
If yes, you should know how to implement a converter, or its equivalent code for them.
For example, in the <h:dataTable> component, if its value attribute points an array of object,
then it is automatically converted to an appropriate DataModel used by its column children.
We may need to see your MyBean bean and related code set, if we have enough time.

A Custom Component and the JSP source that get's generated

I'm writing a Custom Component library and I'm at a point where I need to understand how the JSP source that gets generate when my component is dragged from the palete is created and how it relates to the properties I define in the Metadata files.
In particular I have a component that is an extension of the DataTable component and I'd like to control what get's dropped onto the page when the user drags over my component.

Scroll bar, buttons and a Custom Component - help

Thanks to another forum I was able to create a scroll panel and add a scroll bar to it. That works fine. Inside the scroll panel I have thumbnails of the product that I'm highlighting. I want to be able to click on the thumbnail and have a full size photo of the product come up in the window next to the scroll panel. I created a custom component that has a stage showing each full size product individually. This worked fine when I simply had buttons and no scroll bar. I could convert the thumbnail to a button and then add interaction so that it would go to the proper state of the custom component. Where I'm having problems is now that I've imbedded the buttons in a scroll panel I'm no longer given the custom component as an option to pick from. I can add interaction, but it only gives me the option of picking one of the pages, and not a component.
I've attached a screen grab to help show what I'm describing.
Any ideas?

It seems that a lot of us are asking the same question: Scrollbar Navigation-Make Actionable
(I created a low-fidelity proof-of-concept to test—using a datalist as you suggested. See link in my posting).
I have reviewed the video you refer to here, but you example still does not allow for individual items in the datalist (scrollbar) to be assigned individual actionable events.
Can you expain your thinking in Option 1, as a workaround? Do you have any other suggestions?
BOTTOM LINE
We are all looking to do the same thing... something we are going to see A LOT MORE of after Uncle Steve's TABLET presentation next week:
A scrolling menu, with selected items in the menu causing "navigation" to a certain point in a scroll panel. (imitating the flick or slide effect of iPhone).
Suggestion: Can you add a field to thedatalist so that when the "repeated item" (in edit mode) is configuredto do an action (i.e., On-Click, Transition to State), we can then assign the state you'd like for each item in thetable itself?
Now the issue is making it change the "State" within another component (i.e. scrolling panel). Can that be done?

Did you get any values in lv_search ?
Because while using value nodes for search view (which inherits from advance search controller class), the above method does not return any search values entered in the fields.
Please let me know how did you solve it.

Help with Custom Component: Ajax and ValueChangeListener

I am trying to create a custom component that triggers an update via Ajax. However, I would also like to trigger a ValueChangeListener method from the same component, however I am unsure of how to obtain and trigger the ValueChangeEvent.

The field calculation order was not in the correct order, had a devil of a time figuring out how to get to it, in Acrobat X.
My check boxes for shipping have the same name field but I don't see a tab for export value for the check boxes, and I have no idea how to implement your suggestions for a switch or if statement or what fields to attach them to.

Drag and drop custom component

I have a custom component that is a JPanel with a JTextField and a JButton. The component is a display and chooser for an address. I want to be able to copy the address from one to another with drag and drop.
Here's what I have so far. The drag starts, but it won't allow to drop on another instance of the same class. MyTransferHandler is a simple subclass of TransferHandler that logs everything so I can watch what is happening. The canImport() method of TransferHandler is never getting called. Any ideas?

Figured it out while creating the SSCCE. Needed to set the TransferHandler on the text field and button because they were "hiding" the panel.

hi,
Not sure why your custom event is not working, I tend not to worry about 'custom' events unless I need to transfer a lot of information.
Here is a way to 'simplify' event management.
I just declare a new event in the meta data and then send it to notify that a change has been made. Although the parent can find the index value easily enough I also use two-way bind the navigators index so that it is directly available for the application to manipulate/read .
