Oracle Installer crashes when I try to install ODP

I've just downloaded the ODP.NET 64Bit zip file for Oracle 10.2
When I unzip it and run the setup the universal installer starts up but then immediately crashes with the error message "Java(TM) 2 Platform Standard Edition binary has stopped working with the following signature:

Anyone have any ideas what's going wrong?

What platform? There's a known issue with that where the OUI crashes when using it on platforms it was not certified on.
Rather than trying to coerce a 10.2 install (which I'd really recommend against since error correction has ended for it anyway), is there a reason you can't or don't want to use a current 11g version? You can use 11g ODP.NET against a 10.2 database.

Resetting the home folder permissions can resolve problems with your user account on your Mac.

    With Install Disc
    No Disc – Snow Leopard
    No Disc – Lion
    Quick Method
Boot from the Mac OS X Install Disc:
    Insert the disc.
    Shut down the computer.
Turn it on again whilst holding down the C key.
You can let go when you see a spinning dial.
Click through the menus until you after you’ve accepted a license agreement.
Snow Leopard: At the top, click Utilities -> Reset Password.
Lion: At the top, click Utilities -> Terminal. Type resetpassword in the Terminal and press Enter.

Replace “username” with the name of your home folder.
    chmod -R -v -N /Users/username
    chown -R -v username:staff /Users/username
    chmod -R -v 700 /Users/username
    chmod 755 /Users/username

How do I find installer? When I try to install downloads, the box says that I do not have the Installer I need.

If it's updates through the Office auto-updater that are having problems, that's probably an issue you'll need to take up on Microsoft's support site. If you're having problems installing Office from scratch and it's saying it can't find Installer, you may need to repair your hard drive. More help will probably be obtained if you post in the Mac OS X 10.6 forum; this forum, where you originally posted, is for help with the Communities themselves.

  • HELP! Bridge crashes when i try to install extentions

    Hello
Im new to flash and reallyenjoying it
My issue is that when I try to instal the photoflow extention, or TN2 gallery bridge just crashes...
    Can i install manually?

Which version of Flash and these two extensions are you using? Which OS are you using? Please make sure their versions are compatible, and you have sufficient privilege to install files included in extensions to their destination folder.
Maybe you can get the answer about how to install these two extensions manually from http://www.forum.flashloaded.com/boards/forumdisplay.php?f=122 and http://www.forum.flashloaded.com/boards/forumdisplay.php?f=99 .

  • Setup program crashes when you try to install a 2007 Office on a 64-bit version of Windows 7

    Hello there,
I have a Dell Vostro machine with Windows 7 Pro 64-bit installed on it. It came with Office 2010 preinstalled on it. About 6 months ago I removed Office 2010 and installed Office 2007 with no problems. Yesterday a user messed up her office so badly
that I had to uninstalled it in an attempt to reinstall to ensure that all missing files exist. A few seconds after selecting my options, the installation program crashes. I tried it with a few different users logged in to make sure it's something related
to the profile of the user I was logged in as.
Just to be clear, this is the same Office 2007 installation that was installed correctly on it about 6 months ago and the same product key.
Why is this happening and how can I fix this issue without having to restore the computer to its default state?
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thank you,

    Hi,
Please refer to this kb, use Microsoft Fix it 50154 to uninstall Office 2007 completely:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928218/en-us
    Then try installing again.
We can also perform a clean boot to install, which gets rid of the background program conflicts:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
    Hope this can help.

  • HELP - Computer crashes when I try to install X

I just recieved my X-fi today and have tried for hours to install this thing. I've uninstalled my old sound cards drivers before installing. My computer consistently decides to reboot in the middle of installation off of the install cd and from the updated drivers off the creative website. I have a Dell Dimension 4550 btw.
Also, after it reboots and tells me my computer has recovered from a serious error, it tries to install the X-fi WDM and asks me to put the CD into the dri've. I do, but it then asks me to locate a file (ctdnlstr.dat) on the cd, but this file doesn't seem to exist!

Not 00% sure that the pbm is identical, but try this:
.- See the X-Fi readme file, the section that speaks of BIOS optimization.
2.- To that respect, I fixed it by altering the "On board sound" and "Sound Blaster" options in BIOS. I cannnot remember the exact details, but basically, and depending on the exact BIOS version you have got, you need to turn the EMU option off, and put the Sound Blaster interrupt on 7 rather than 5 (default). It may also hang up if your "on board chip sound" option is turned off. I guess this all depends very much on the BIOS/Motherboard version, but I am 99% sure that this is a good clue. I experienced exactly the same sympton and fixed it in this way.
Good luck (you're gonna need it).

You need to contact the developer/manufacturer directly to determine if their product is compatible w/Yosemite.  It is not listed on their system requirement website:
    Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks
Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion
    Mac OS X 10.7 Lion
Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard*
Note: ArchiCAD 17 is the last version of ArchiCAD to support Mac OS X 10.6
Only case insensitive file-system volumes are supported.

I just tried running the Lenovo Hard Drive Quick Test both in normal mode and in safe mode.  Both times it indicated a failed read test on the HDD. The last two tests also failed.  I forget what those tests were called.
I am really beginning to think I have a bad HDD and the problem just happens to be in the reserved partition where my factory system software resides.

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?
