Oracle jars

Hi
Can anyone tell me where i can find the jar that contains
oracle/j2ee/ws/common/tools/api/ValidatationException
taskdef A class needed by class oracle.j2ee.ws.tools.wsa.cli.ant.GenProxy cannot be found: oracle/j2ee/ws/common/tools/api/ValidationException

Hi there,
I have exactly the same problem, but when I look into wsa.jar it does not contain the file in question!
oracle/j2ee/ws/common/tools/api/ValidationException - there is no such package structure - beneath "ws" there is only either "metadata" or "tools"
Can anyone help?
TIA

  • Forms 10g and Java 6 - Howto place the oracle .jars?

    Hi,
    I would like to compile a sample Forms Java Bean with standalone Java ( not with the JDeveloper IDE )
    and the source starts with a lot of import oracle classes in jars.
    My java install is like this:
    JAVA_HOME=C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_11
    Could you indicate where I should place the Oracle jar files in order to have javac to recognize them?
    Many thanks in advance

    Hi again,
    I'm not advanced enough on these topics to clarify.
    Things have changed in the meantime here.
    At the moment we are looking into using 'web_show_document' with an html page containing javascript.
    There is a discussion on the 'talk2gerd.blogspot' that indicates what to set in formsweb.cfg and forms.conf in order to use javascript.
    Still getting a browser written as a Javabean to consult entreprise documents from a Forms client would be a nice bonus.
    Many thanks for your help.

  • Oracle.jar problem

    Hi Everyone
    I am having a problem about the oracle.jar. I have set up Tomcat 4.1.24 and I want to use Oracle as my database, so I try to configure Tomcat to connect to Oracle by the following 2 steps
    1) put the oracle.jar into tomcat_home/common/lib
    2) edit tomcat_home/conf/server.xml
    uncommented the below code and give my own connectionURL, connectionName and connectionPassword
    <!--
    <Realm className="org.apache.catalina.realm.JDBCRealm" debug="99"
    driverName="oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver"
    connectionURL="jdbc:oracle:thin:@ntserver:1521:ORCL"
    connectionName="scott" connectionPassword="tiger"
    userTable="users" userNameCol="user_name" userCredCol="user_pass"
    userRoleTable="user_roles" roleNameCol="role_name" />
    -->
    However after I changed the above things, Tomcat couldnt run. I saw the Tomcat Dos window suddenly disappear when it was starting. So please anyone tell me what goes wrong? or something wrong with my changes?
    With uncountable thanks
    Kelvin

    you are in the wrong forum...
    but seeing as I am feeling empathic to people with tomcat problems, why don't you look in tomcat/logs and get some errors out of there?
    Post them and I will take a look...

  • Minimum set of oracle jar libraries for JMS Streams

    In the installation manual there is a list of jars that I have to have in a classpath in order to use Advance Queueing.
    $ORACLE_HOME/jdbc/lib/classes12.jar
    $ORACLE_HOME/jdbc/lib/orail8n.jar
    $ORACLE_HOME/jdk/jre/lib/ext/jta.jar
    $ORACLE_HOME/jdk/jre/lib/ext/jta.jar
    $ORACLE_HOME/jlib/jndi.jar
    $ORACLE_HOME/lib/xmlparserv2.jar
    $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/jlib/xdb.jar
    $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/jlib/aqapi13.jar
    $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/jlib/jmscommon.jar
    The problem with this is that most of these jars overlay the most common java jars that come with J2EE and Jave. (I am using J2EE 1.4 and J2SE 5.0).
    My question is - Is there a sub-list of oracle jars that I must have even if I already have J2EE and J2EE in my classpath, or should I always assume that I have to have every single jar on the list, and remove the Sun's j2ee and j2se ones?
    Thank you,
    Edmon

    Hi pscorca,
    As Arthur suggested, the simplest approach is to make use of the SQL Server Import and Export Wizard. This tool enable us to select multiple Orace tables at one time, and even create the destination table automatically. Then, we can save it
    as a package without running it immediately. In this way, there are multiple Data Flow Task created automatically for each source table.

  • Define location for "Oracle Jar Cache" of jinitiator

    Hello,
    I'd like to know is it posible to define the location of Oracle Jar Cache with some parameters like installing in silent mode....
    This problems has occured because we have for users files home directory on network file server and jinitiator automaticlly put Oracle Jar Cache on file server.
    For Example i'd like to have C:\Oracle Jar Cache

    If you change the location of the jar cache via the console the location entry is written into a file in your local profile:
    Directory
    .jinit (for JInitiator)
    .java (for Java Plug-In)
    File
    properties<version_of_JInitiator or Java Plug-In>.
    Only modified entries are written to this file (otherwise the default is valid).
    You can modify this file programmatically after installation or possibly during installation process.

  • Rollout of Jinitiator - setup of Oracle Jar Cache

    Hi,
    We are planning an upgrade of Oracle e-business suite from 11.5.10.1 to 11.5.10.CU2 and with this we will also be upgrading our version of Jinitiator to 1.3.1.28. By default, the location of the Oracle Jar Cache is something like:
    C:\Documents and Settings\%NETWORK_NAME%\Oracle Jar Cache
    My question is: Is there a method whereby we can modify this default setting to something else, e.g. C:\temp\Oracle Jar Cache before we download the oajinit.exe to each individual pc. Ideally, I would like to configure this before the download and have the users simply download the oajinit.exe the first time they logon to 11.5.10.CU2. I appreciate that there are other ways that we can distribute the oajinit.exe to each users PC but just wondered if it was possible to configure the location of the Oracle Jar Cache before distributing.
    Thanks for any help you can give.
    Regards,
    Calum

  • JDeveloper and other Oracle JAR files with antivirus on access scanning

    Hi
    concerns in our IT department about security means that the AV software scans jar files on our client PC's and servers. This means that JDeveloper starts very slowly, even on a 3.2GHz PC. Can anyone tell me how to get around this or at least which jar files I could ask them to exclude from scanning? Also, will this affect running of our 10g Database and tools on the server?
    Much appreciated
    Peter - [email protected]

    I've observed this problem with certain AV tools. Some fare much better than others (inside Oracle, we use Symantec AV and I see very little slowdown even when it's scanning jar files in jdev's install directory).
    You didn't mention which version of jdeveloper you're using. Assuming 10.1.3 preview, the directories to exclude from scanning would be either the whole of your jdev install directory, or if you must be more selective, something like:
    %JDEVHOME%/jlib
    %JDEVHOME%/jdev/lib
    %JDEVHOME%/ide/lib
    %JDEVHOME%/jdev/extensions
    %JDEVHOME%/lib
    Would be a good start. These directories contain the bulk of the jars loaded at IDE startup.
    Thanks,

  • Missing oracle-ant.jar in ORACLE_HOME/ant/lib

    Hi
    I have version 10.1.3.3 of the Oracle Application Server Running. As I understand it, you are provided with Apache Ant via the default installation and you are supposed to have the file ORACLE_HOME/ant/lib/oracle-ant.jar in order use the oracle ant tasks. However, I have just done a search for oracle-ant.jar in ORACLE_HOME and have realised that oracle-ant.jar is missing. Is this normal or do I have to download oracle-ant.jar separately. If I have to download it separately, can some-one please point me in the right direction. Either way where can I get a copy of oracle-ant.jar from?

    Found it. The Guide file named the wrong way. It should be ORACLE_HOME/ant/lib/ant-oracle.jar and not ORACLE_HOME/ant/lib/oracle-ant.jar

  • Need help, oracle xml db jar conflicts with sup app server v9

    I am trying to create a web service on sun app v9 that will work with calls to oracle xml db on oracle 10gr2. I have successfully created a web service on other application servers (weblogic and websphere) but sun was the app server of choice. The oracle jar xmlparserv2.jar is causing problems with the sun server as it seems to have bundled some java classes from the javax.xml.parsers, javax\xml\transform (and even from dom, sax and streams sub folders) packages.
    If I put the oracle jar in my war the error I get in the log file when accessing my webservice tester is:
    [#|2007-08-13T08:37:48.691-0400|INFO|sun-appserver-pe9.0|javax.enterprise.system.stream.out|_ThreadID=15;_ThreadName=httpWorkerThread-8080-0;|error: http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd<Line 31, Column 3>: XML-20100: (Fatal Error) Expected '>'.

    error: Expected '>'.
    line ? of http://ann-griffithlap.jsc-eses.com:8080/TestWS/TestWSService?WSDL#types?schema1|#]
    And the UI error from the tester call is:

    I had attempted to move the xmlparserv2.jar elsewhere in the classpath for classloading and one error I got while trying different spots was:
    [#|2007-07-16T14:16:57.982-0400|SEVERE|sun-appserver-pe9.0|javax.enterprise.system.tools.deployment|_ThreadID=10;_ThreadName=main;_RequestID=c9ffb261-2b6d-4dd2-bd8f-362e6b2af1a0;|INFO: JAXP SAXParser property not recognized: http://java.sun.com/xml/jaxp/properties/schemaLanguage|#]

    which gets repeated for each deployment and then the server would not start up.
    Is there any suggestions of where I can put the oracle jar to get sun to still start up as well as the jar to be available for use by the classes in my war that also contains the webservice that will call my underlying class? I have not found a way to eliminate the oracle jar if I want to do an xquery against oracle xml db.
    Thanks,

  • Sign oracle jdbc.jar?

    I have a program can be launched from webstart or applet.
    The client need to run a jdbc to a Oracle,...
    So i need to send the jdbc jar to client. But webstart only accept a signed jar to be able to connect to a database.
    My question is, Can I sign the pracle jdbc jar by my certificate.
    If I do that, where it break the distribution license of Oracle jdbc jar.If so, any legal way to do it?
    Any one have simialr experence?
    But if it is not signed, my application will simple can not run. (Oraclejar is not sigend them, so can't use extension either)
    Thanks

    Just unjar the oracle jar and sign it when you jar it back up. I've had to do it with several jars besides the oracle one.

  • Icons in JAR are downloaded but doesn't show up in application

    I've tried following all the advice in the Deploying icons on the web guide, but there's just something not quite right.
    What goes right:
    From java console: "Downloading http://oiatst01.tdk.dk:7778/forms90images/kassimages.jar to JAR cache"
    And I can see the file in the Oracle Jar Cache. I can also type in the url and get the kassimages.jar file. It's there and it's accessible.
    That also means the virtual folder /forms90images/ works properly:
    Alias /forms90images/ "E:\KASSForms\gifer/"
    Registry.dat / default.dat has:
    default.icons.iconpath=/forms90images/
    default.icons.iconextension=gif
    In the HTML substitutions are made correctly:
    <PARAM NAME="imageBase" VALUE="codeBase">
    and
    <EMBED ....imageBase="codeBase" ...>
    formsweb.cfg has:
    archive_jini=f90all_jinit.jar,/forms90images/kassimages.jar
    archive_ie=f90all.cab,/forms90images/kassimages.jar
    archive=f90all.jar,/forms90images/kassimages.jar
    # 3) Values for the Forms applet parameters:
    serverURL=/forms90/l90servlet

    imageBase=codeBase
    Errors are:
    ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Apache/logs/error_log: "File does not exist: e:/kassforms/gifer/last.gif"
    It's as if it's not using the JAR file, and the tricky thing is that if I place the actual "last.gif" file inside the folder e:/kassforms... it shows up! Now, it isn't even supposed to do that as imagebase=codebase. It's not supposed to even LOOK at the files.

    If I change the line:
    codebase=/forms90/java
    to:
    codebase=/forms90images/
    Then my iAS stops working, and I guess it's because the other jars can't be found now (jinit for example). Maybe it uses the /forms90/java path for both. It kinda seems that I need a separate instruction that tells the imageBase parameter where to look in the file system. I don't know how to do that?!
    Maybe it's simply impossible to locate the image jar file anywhere else but in the standard directory where the other jars are located?
