Oracle JDBC internal error

Hi,
I'm using a jdbc thin driver to execute a stored procedure that returns
a nested table.
The stored procedure works fine when called from a net8 client (sql worksheet), but when called from a java program it gives me the following error.
java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [kokexiv4], [], [], [], [], [], [], []

This occurs when i try to get the object array which is a nested table.
ARRAY array = (ARRAY) ((OracleCallableStatement)callStatement).getOracleObject(1);
rsObservations = array.getResultSet();
STRUCT observation = (STRUCT) rsObservations.getObject(2); //throws exception trace
Please help me of anybody encountered a simiar problem. The results are same even with the thick driver.
I also tried with various versions of the oracle jdbc drivers but no luck :(
i read from different mailing lists that an internal error represents an error in the database, but the same call works fine from sql worksheet.
thanks and best regards,
Kalyan Dasika

This error occured because of some changes in the nested table structure that we did. The fix for that was to drop all the fields that uses this nested table and reload it back with the changes to the structure. This fixed the problem. Earlier, we did not drop the field because we assumed that the new field added to the structure will be returned as null when the table is queried. Its wierd though because the sql worksheet client wasnt getting any errors, but the JDBC driver did.
It aint no easy workin with Oracle objects :(
thanks

  • JDBC Internal Error

    Hello everyone.
    I've reached the end of my abilities trying to see what I've done wrong here so I hope there is someone who knows how to fix this.
    Environment:
    Oracle client: 9.2.0.6
    Oracle server: 9.2.0.5
    JDBC: ojdbc14.jar OCI or THIN
    Simplest case, an updatable ResultSet containing two columns, one VARCHAR2 and one TIMESTAMP(6).
    Using updateString() to update the VARCHAR field works, using updateTimestamp() to update the TIMESTAMP field throws an SQLException with the text:
    "Internal Error: unable to construct a Datum from the specified input"
    and ErrorCode 17001.
    The timestamp I use to update was retrieved using SQL "select CURRENT_TIMESTAMP from dual" and the getTimestamp(1) method inside the "ResultSet.next()" loop, just before calling the updateTimestamp() method.
    I've seen an old thead with the same symptoms in this forum, unfortunately it was not resolved. Does anyone have any ideas? Please.

    Ed Lang

  • Oracle ODBC  - Internal Error - unable to initialize NLS during driver load

    I'm having some trouble with my ODBC connections which I hope someone can please help me with!
    About 6 weeks ago all was working as normal.
    As far as I know there have been no updates to the ORacle DB, the Windows XP operating system or the ODBC Drivers.
    Today when I opened access and visual case 2 to connect to Oracle I was at first greeted with a:
    unable to connect SQLState=IM004 SQL_HANDLE_ENV
    error. ODBC also kept crashing.
    I restarted the computer and was confronted with a different error:
    odbc SQLSTate 08004 ORA 12154 TNS could not resolve the connect identifier specified
    I was able to fix this error by setting the environment variable TNS_ADMIN in windows xp environment variables. I'm extremely confused about how this happened though as it was working and I don't think anything has changed.
    I was then able to connect to the database via Microsoft Access but when I opened Visual Case 2 and tried to make an update, I was confronted with the following error:
    Oracle ODBC Driver - internal error - unable to initialize NLS during driver load
    I looked in the registry at:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Oracle\KEY_OraClient10g_home1
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Oracle\KEY_OraClient10g_home2
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Oracle\KEY_OraDb10g_home1
    and NLS_LANG was set to "AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8MSWIN1252" in all 3 places.
    (Though KEY_OraClient10g_home2 only had 4 entries as opposed to KEY_OraClient10g_home1's 13 entries)...
    Since I made those changes I can no longer connect through Access.
    I just receive a ODBC - connection to 'xxx' failed
    Advice greatly appreciated!!!!

    Actually it sort of does...
    I switched the ODBC connection to use instant client and now it's all working again.
    The biggest mystery is what changed to make it suddenly stop working the old way...

  • Oracle JDBC receiver error

    Hi,
    I am trying to setup a file to Oracle JDBC receiver scenario.  In this case I am trying to just insert a single line to Oracle.  I get no error in SXMB_MONI, no error in the message mapping test, and no error in the Test configuration in the ID.
    Here is the error I get in the RWB comm channel monitoring for my adapter:
    <i>No "action" attribute found in XML document ("action" attribute missing or wrong XML structure)
    MP: exception caught with cause com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.RecoverableException: Error processing request in sax parser: No 'action' attribute found in XML document (attribute "action" missing or wrong XML structure)
    Exception caught by adapter framework: Error processing request in sax parser: No 'action' attribute found in XML document (attribute "action" missing or wrong XML structure)
    Delivery of the message to the application using connection JDBC_http://sap.com/xi/XI/System failed, due to: com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.RecoverableException: Error processing request in sax parser: No 'action' attribute found in XML document (attribute "action" missing or wrong XML structure).</i>
    Here is my structure for the oracle receiver:
    DTOracleReceiver_INSERT
        TEMP_DATA_XI                                             1
             action   (attribute)          xsd:string
             access
                   NCODE                  xsd:string              1
                   VNAME                  xsd:integer            1
                   DDATE                   xsd:date                1
                   NPRICE                  xsd:decimal           1
                   LSTATES               xsd:string               1
    TEMP_DATA_XI is my table name in Oracle
    action is set to constant "INSERT" in the message mapping.
    When I look at the payload in the OracleReceiver adapter, this is what shows up:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    - <ns0:MTOracleReceiver_INSERT xmlns:ns0="http://test.com/jdbc">
    - <TEMP_DATA_XI action="INSERT">

            <LSTATES>test of JDBC receiver</LSTATES>
         </access>
      </TEMP_DATA_XI>
      </ns0:MTOracleReceiver_INSERT>
    Any thoughts or ideas on how to fix this error?   Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Receiving oracle.jdbc.driver error when trying to connect

    Setup:
    Windows 7 64bit
    4GB ram
    SQL Developer 3.2.20.09
    Java platform 1.6.0_37
    Oracle IDE 3.2.20.09.87
    Hello, I'm going to start by saying I'm a rank amateur when it comes to using and understand SQL developer. My entire need for this program is to connect to a virt server at my office and test out my SQL queries against our tables. It's been working great for this purpose until yesterday when I received this error:
    An error was encountered performing the requested operation:
    oracle.jdbc.driver.T2CConnection.getLibraryVersionNumber()I
    Vendor code 0
    I did some searching and found a few references to this error but due to my inexperience I was unable to follow the resolutions and fix the error. This connection was working fine until yesterday afternoon which seemed odd. Based on my control panel, here is what I installed yesterday, I believe I installed both Java's after the error occurred seeing if they would alleviate the issue.
    MySQL Administrator 1.1
    Java SE Development Kit 6 Update 41 (64-bit)
    MySQL Workbench 5.2 CE
    Java 6 Update 41 (64-bit)
    Could one of these be the root of the issue?
    Thanks for the help and sorry for the lack of technical expertise, my need is very narrow and up until now this program has worked great for me.

    More likely to be that you are now using the wrong version of the oracle jdbc jar file.
    Post the name and version of the JDBC jar file that you think you are using.
    Search the pc for ALL such files.
    Examine the environment variables (e.g. PATH) to see if they reference jdbc jars other than the ojdbc6 jar you should be using.

  • Connect to an Oracle database by using oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver: error

    Hi,
    I'm trying to connect to an Oracle database so we can retrieve notes of tables, views and packages.
    By using the API of Data Modeler (transformation script) we want to add these notes to corresponding objects in Data Modeler.
    I'm starting with this:
    importPackage(java.lang);
    importPackage(java.awt);
    importPackage(java.sql);
    java.lang.Class.forName("oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver");
    An error occurs when I run this code:
    It has to be a Java thing...
    Anyone a suggestion?

    Problem solved! One of my colleagues referred to this post: Import user defined properties from Oracle Designer
    More in detail: it's about this couple of lines:
    // Copy the ojdbc6.jar file to ..\datamodeler-home\jlib directory
    // Add this line to datamodeler.conf
    //      AddJavaLibFile  ../../jlib/ojdbc6.jar
    I changed my datamodeler.conf file, restarted DM and now there's no longer an error when I am trying to use the Oracle JDBC drive.

  • Oracle JDBC Jar Error in DtSQL

    I installed Oracle in Windows and used a DB Tools ( DtSQL )
    connect Oracle.
    It receives error. I checked the error message,
    it failed when it call the driver to connect the db and does nothing with DtSQL.
    Do you guys ever test Oracle JDBC jar file like this ? Or the jar file is not OS independant ?
    Any ideas ?
    Thanks in advanced.

    what error? post error stack
    Do you guys ever test Oracle JDBC jar file like this ? we are not Oracle testers
    Oracle JDBC jar files are provided by Oracle (and tested by Oracle).
    Or the jar file is not OS independant ?It is not correct. jar files are OS independent.
    Any ideas ?No ideas until you post error stack

  • Load oracle jdbc driver error when run applet via the web

    Hi All,
    I have built an applet which connect to database via jdbc thin driver. It works fine when I run it through the applet viewer, but got a problem when run it through the web.
    java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: oracle/jdbc/driver/OracleDriver
    I am using jdev9i 9.0.4 and jdk 1.4.2. The jdbc version is 9.0.1
    I have added both the classes12.zip and ojdbc14.zip in the class path and also pack them together with my applet class. Here is the code
    public class MyApplet extends Applet
    implements Runnable
    public void start()
    if(theThread == null)
    theThread = new Thread(this);
    theThread.start();
    Retrieve R = new Retrieve();
    this.MyMap = R.retrieveDesc();
    public class Retrieve
    public Retrieve()
    DriverManager.registerDriver(new oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver());
    conn=DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:oracle:thin:@babyruth.wvu.edu:1703:devdw", User, Password);
    conn.setAutoCommit(true);
    connectStatus = true;
    public HashMap retrieveDesc()
    return map;
    I have also built one HTML page NewApplet like this
    <HTML>
    <HEAD>
    <TITLE> My New Applet</TITLE>
    </HEAD>
    <APPLET CODE="MyApplet.class" CODEBASE="menu" ARCHIVE="MyApplet.zip" WIDTH=300 HEIGHT=485>
    <!--General Settings-->
    <param name="bgcolor" value="255,255,255">
    </HTML>
    Any advice is highly appreciated
    Mei

    Sir,
    Well you haven't "packed" them correctly. Why don't you just add the driver bits to the soucebase tag? or something like that anyway...
    Sincerely,
    Slappy

  • Oracle JDBC Driver Compile Errors

    I'd like to try out this new Preview Edition but I get the following errors:
    Error(22,8): class oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleCallableStatement is not public; cannot be accessed from outside of package oracle.jdbc.driver
    Error(23,8): class oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleTypes is not public; cannot be accessed from outside of package oracle.jdbc.driver
    These erors occur at the import statements:
    import oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleCallableStatement;
    import oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleTypes;
    when I attempt to compile a JDev 10.1.3 project in the 11g Technology Preview Edition. Any idea why?
    TIA,
    Jeff

    We don't support project migration from 10.1.3 to the
    technology preview.
    Does the problem reproduce if you create a new
    project in 11tp?Shay,
    Thanks for the quick response. I created a new application in 11tp from scratch. I created a View Object and pasted the offending code into it and got the same compile errors. I actually got the code about a year ago from Steve's Not Yet Documented Applications. He has since removed the App from the page, changed the code and added it to the Dev Guide. The sample app showed how to bind a View object to a REF Cursor returned from a stored procedure and it looked something like this:
    CallableStatement cs = conn.prepareCall("{?=call package.name(P_CODIGO => ?)}");
    cs.rgisterOutParameter(1,OracleTypes.CURSOR);
    cs.setInt(2,16782);
    cs.executeQuery();
    ResultSet result = ((OracleCallableStatement)cs).getCursor(1);
    Changing the code to look more like what is now in the DEV GUIDE will more than likely work because he eliminates the need for the OracleCallableStatement.
    This brings me to my next point. If migration is not currently supported, will it be when the production release of JDEV 11g is available? Shame on me for just quickly skimming the release notes but when the import wizard ran on my project it did not warn me that the feature is not supported or that problems are likely. Upon resolving the issues with the callable statement, I had significant other compile errors in my jspx pages that will probably not be as trivial to fix. If project upgrades are not performed "easily" it will certainly push the 11g adoption date out considerably.
    Thanks again, your comments are always encouraged.
    Jeff
