harishHi. We do have som classes with names similar to that:
weblogic.jdbc.utils.OracleJDBC4DriverURLHelper
weblogic.jdbc.utils.OracleJDBCDriverURLHelper
weblogic.jdbc.utils.WebLogicOracleJDBCDriverURLHelper
weblogic.jdbc.utils.WLOracleJDBC4DriverURLHelper
Those should be in the weblogic.jar... You should post the full
original error message, and probably post to the install help
group.

• Oracle OLE DB Provider / Stored Procedure REF CURSOR errror

Post Author: robfurrball
CA Forum: Data Connectivity and SQL
All,I'm out of ideas on this and would appreciate any suggestions.I'm trying to use Crystal XI to connect to an Oracle 9i database using the Oracle OLE DB Provider (required to use this provider by a 3rd party program that fires off the report). If I connect using the Microsoft OLE DB Provider for Oracle, the report will return data. When connecting with the Oracle OLE DB Provider, I get the following:Database Connector Error: 'ADO Error Code: 0x80040e14
Source: OraOLEDB
Description: ORA-06550: line 1, column 7:
PLS-00306: wrong number or types of arguments in call to 'SP_MOMGLOBCSHBAL_TEST'
ORA-06550: line 1, column 7:

Native Error: 6550 [Database Vendor Code: 6550 ]' -
The procedure's only parameter is an IN OUT SYS_REFCURSOR, and the Oracle OLE DB Provider is version 9.2.0.7.0 Thanks,Rob

Post Author: robfurrball
CA Forum: Data Connectivity and SQL
Summary: After going
back and forth with Business Objects support they ruled that it was an issue
with the provider itself, recommended I contact Oracle for resolution, and
closed the case before I could comment back to them. I was unable to send this response to their
support team, so I'm posting it here in hopes that I can save others time/money
in the future.
My Response -
I appreciate your input and would have liked to comment further on the case management system before you closed the case. I'm a little surprised and disappointed that you recommend I contact Oracle directly about this issue.I would imagine that a company as large as Business Objects would have much better results dealing with Oracle to resolve an issue compared to an individual. Also, since you are able to connect to other objects (such as a table) in Crystal Reports using that provider, I would expect that you would want customers to be able to connect to stored procedures using it as well. Otherwise, it would seem appropriate to either alert customers of this defect through documentation, public message boards, and forums.Using Crystal to pull data from stored procedures in other databases and data providers made me think that was a viable option for this project. Since it was not documented as a limitation of Crystal and the provider, it has cost my organization a great deal of time and money trying to troubleshoot an issue I would have expected to be caught in Crystal Reports' internal quality assurance testing.------ This is the final note I received on my support case: -
Please note that the statement used to execute a procedure within ODBC/OLE DB is different from the native 'Oracle Server' statement. In ODBC or OLE DB, the call is '{CALL "SCHEMANAME"."TEST_PROCEDURE"(3)}' , when using native 'Oracle Server' the call is 'BEGIN "SCHEMANAME"."TEST_PROCEDURE"(:TEST_CURSOR, 1); END ;'In ODBC or OLE DB, the cursor is still used however it is not listed within the SQL Statement as in the Native connection. This is the behavior from Crystal Reports 9 forward that the cursor is not shown through ODBC/OLE DB.In addition to that as the issue is only with the Oracle OLE DB provider and I would suggest you to contact Oracle about this issue, since the issue occurs outside of Crystal Reports when using QTADO with a standard call, so it is not an issue between Crystal Reports and Oracle. The issue is only with Oracle OLE DB provider as the same Oracle stored procedure call works within QTADO with the MS Oracle OLE DB provider. As the issue is with the OLE DB Provider and not with Crystal Reports, we may not be able to proceed further. Hence, I am closing this case from Case Management System.

• Petstore 1.3 with Oracle 8.1.7 on Solaris 9 - deployment error

Hello,
I'm trying to get Petstore 1.3 shipped with WebLogic Server 7.0 to work with Oracle
8.1.7 on Solaris 9 with a third-party (Oracle) jdbc driver (classes12). I did
the following:
1) created a new connection pool with the correct Oracle database URL and driver
class name (oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver), also user/password properties for
the Oracle db, and the WL server selected in targets;
2) created a database schema for Oracle based on the data in Pointbase and the
weblogic-cmp-rdbms-jar file as well as petstore_catalog_utf8.sql;
3) created a new tx datasource pointing to the Oracle conn pool;
4) modified the catalog component's ejb-jar.xml file's env-entry to contain CatalogOracleDAOImpl;
5) put weblogic.jar in the classpath;
6) used Java's dbping utility to check connection to the database via the Oracle
driver (works fine--no network adapter error or anything related).
I then rebuilt the ear files (build is successful), but when deploying get the
following error:
"Cannot deploy EJB AccountEJB from customerEjb.jar. Cannot find datasource for
JNDI datasource-petstorePool" and says to make sure the JNDI name and deployment
descriptors are correct (I checked the customer component's deployment descriptors
against the tx datasources' JNDI and they match).
What step(s) am I missing? Any suggestions on what else I need to modify would
be very much appreciated.
Thanks,
Beverly Claire

Beverly:
If you have 8.1, then you should be able to simply and easily create a
connection pool to petstore via the console.
The current error you encountering: "petstorePool does not exist" is
because either:
petstorePool is not defined or there was a failure when the pool was first
created trying to connect to the DBMS.
The full errror should be in the log file prior to the TXDatasource error.
Cheers

Hello Rob,
Thanks for your reply. Yes, the tx datasource's JNDI name isdatasource-petstorePool.
The server log says that "petstorePool does not exist".
My conn pool contents:
Name: petstorePool
URL: jdbc:oracle:thin:@<replaced with db address>:<replaced with dbport>:<replaced
with db SID>
Driver Class Name: oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver
Properties: user=<replaced with username*>
password=<replaced with password*>
*same username and password used to set up the Petstore tables in Oracledb.
>
My tx datasource contents:
Name: PetstoreDataSource
JNDI: datasource-petstorePool
Pool Name: petstorePool
No, actually we're not evaluating in the sense of just-trying-things-out.One
of our clients is considering an application server. They're relying on usfor
help in choosing which would be best. As of now, we are comparing BEA WLServer
7 and 8.1, Sun ONE Application Server 7 EE, Oracle 9i Application Server, and
Fujitsu Interstage v5 Application Server. For cluster testing andperformance
comparison purposes, we'd like to use the same J2EE Application across allservers,
and the obvious choice is Petstore 1.3. One aim is to smoothly connect toan Oracle
database. The other app servers provide setup scripts and databaseschemas for
Petstore-with-Oracle, so db conn and deployment are not a problem at all.As for
WL, we've been trying to get Petstore (both the version downloaded fromSun's
Java Blueprints and the version that shipped with WL 7) to work withOracle, but
no luck so far. It's getting a bit frustrating, given the ease with whichthings
worked out with the other app servers.
Yes, I've tried out Avitek MedRec for WL 8.1, and this time BEA has kindlymade
provisions for Oracle db, so connection to Oracle is not a problem. I'mhoping
BEA will come around to doing the same thing for Petstore, although I'mguessing
that won't be in the near future.
Any other suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Bevery Claire

Hello,
I am required to run "pass-through" Oracle SQL, to extract data from tables into SAS for processing and manipulation. My code (attached) reads and writes (executes) but with zero records to test first. I cannot get past the Prepare Error.
The query is very much like other queries that seem to work, but I cannot get past this prepare error. I have no other access to individauls with adequate knowledge of PL SQL, and as a last stop hoped others in the forum could quickly spot the source of errror.
Thanks very much in advance for any assistance.

Hello Again ,
Wish Oracle was a bit more informative. Am using a SAS Institute Product called Enterprise Guide. A "hot fix" was installed to address an issue that the product appears unable to save the latest version of edited code changes (hence " BETWEEN between" remaining even after a prior edit). In any case, with the change, am now receiving this error:
" ERROR: ORACLE prepare error: ORA-00904: "PHRMCY_CLM_FACT"."LAST_SRVC_DT": invalid identifier". (Log file appears below)
-The error remains, regardless of whether one uses "pass through" code to pass the date range to Oracle (which looks ok from the log output below I believe), or if I hard code the date range into the PL SQL query itself.
-The Prepare error always appears at end of the inner SELECT.
-The Prepare error remains, with or without the GROUP BY clause.
Is there anything else here I am missing? Someone suggested a reserve word - but from other ANSI SQL versions, I do not see that is the case. I have consulted SAS Tech Support and SAS List Serve at University of GA. but nothing definitive from these sources. Have requested facility to be able to run Oracle directly, outside this SAS Institute product - in process.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks to everyone very much.
Jeff

• APEX 3.1.0.00.32 doesn't work with ORACLE 10g SE 10.2.0.1.0

I have Oracle 10g Express Edition 10.2.0.1.0 under Windows XP SP2 on my Personal Computer. There is installed the too , which is working fine.
Also I have Oracle 10g Standard Edition 10.2.0.1.0 (after installing Oracle 10g BI SE One) under Windows 2000 Adv. Server (On remote Server named URAN).
I tried to install the APEX 3.1.0.00.32 on URAN Server.
I made all points from the list in the Oracle Database Application Express Installation Guide Release 3.1 E10496-02 (the same steps on my Personal Computer where APEX 3.1.0.00.32 is working fine).
But!!!
When I’m starting APEX 3.1.0.00.32 (on the Server - http://URAN:8080/apex/apex_admin) then I get errror:
Unauthorized
after 3 time entering the correct user & password ( from URAN accounts list ) in XDB user window.
QUESTION 1: Why version number of Database on my PC & on Server is same, but
APEX 3.1.0.00.32 on my PC is working fine while its is not working on the Server?
I found out in Internet the APEX 3.1.0.00.32 is working correctly on ORACLE SE from version 10.2.0.3. But ! I have Oracle 10g Express Edition VERSION ‘s 10.2.0.1.0 and the APEX 3.1.0.00.32 is working fine there. What ?! Oracle 10g XE 10.2.0.1.0 & Oracle 10g SE 10.2.0.1.0 have different the data dictionary?
QUESTION 2: In Oracle® Database Application Express Installation Guide
Release 3.1 E10496-02 , in section
4.3 About Configuring the Embedded PL/SQL Gateway
said
Note:
The Oracle XML DB HTTP Server with the embedded PL/SQL gateway is not supported prior to Oracle Database 11g.
But! My Oracle 10g Express Edition has version is 10.2.0.1.0 (less than 11g) AND …
And APEX 3.1.0.00.32 is working fine by using XML DB HTTP Server nevertheless!
By starting - http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex/apex_admin
SUMMARY: Could I launch APEX 3.1.0.00.32 on the Server ( after any magic pass )?
OR I need upgrade my Oracle 10g Standard Edition 10.2.0.1.0 to version 10.2.0.3.0 (what very difficultly and idly for me)?

Firstly, XE 10.2.0.1 isn't the same as 10gR2 10.2.0.1
It was released a bit later and had some fixes that were in later 10.2.0.x patchsets (and also had some different security settings). Maybe they should have gone with 10.2.1.1.
Second, the embedded PL/SQL gateway was okay for XE, but isn't supported for Apex on the Standard/Enterprise Edition until 11g. It doesn't mean it never works, but it does mean that you shouldn't rely on it.
That said, there are other issues with 10.2.0.1 so I'd recommend going for the latest patchset anyway.
Thirdly, if you get the XDB login dialog box, something has gone wrong. For the embedded PL/SQL gateway, XDB is acting as a virtual webserver. Generally what should happen is you connect to the webserver (XDB) and request a page (the APEX login page) and XDB should give it to you, no questions asked.
If it asks you to login then the XDB webserver is running but is trying to get authorisation before it gives you the page. [By the way, if it does prompt for a username/password, it is expecting a database username/password, not an apex one or an O/S one] I'd suspect something is wrong with the setup.

• APEX 3.1.0.00.32 doesn't work with ORACLE 10g SE 10.2.0.1.0 (altered)

I have Oracle 10g Express Edition 10.2.0.1.0 under Windows XP SP2 on my Personal Computer. There is installed the APEX 3.1.0.00.32 too , which is working fine.

• OIM 9.1.0.1870.1 with Oracle database 11.1.0.7 - Hung threads

Anyone seen issues like hung threads using OIM9.1.0 with Oracle Database 11.1.0.7?

Thanks guys for the quick responses.
But I have tried both the options for putting the jar in Third Party and also by uploading using the OOTB utility UploadJar.sh.
But it is giving the same error.
I have tired rebouncing the server and also Purge cached, but no success.
Just to mention again, I have tried with all the last 3 postgres JDBC4 driver available on the site (u mentioned).
So, any other clue?
Thanks in advance.

• Oracle Siebel 8 adapter on Oracle WebLogic 10g

Hi everybody,
I need to install the new Oracle Service Bus 10g and to integrate with Siebel 8. So what I need is off course the bus and the adapter. I've a list of questions that raised during my initial research:
1- Is it possible to install Oracle AS adapters on Oracle WebLogic 10g? I've tried to download the adapter and the only option was "adapters 101202" which require Oracle Home directory which is not available with Oracle WebLogic Installation.
2- Is there a new version of Bea WebLogic adapters? The current documentation within edocs site support Siebel 7.7 and it is only available for WebLogic 9.1
3- Where can I find installation guide for Oracle AS adapters?
4- When navigating through http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/integration/adapters/index.html the "Download Oracle Integration Adapters" directed me to download Oracle WebLogic 10g r3 server. I went with the download and installed WebLogic 10g, but there were no adapters included. Is it only a mistaken link or it might contain the adapters for WebLogic 10g somewhere?
Thanks in advance
Tari

Hi Brian,
Generally the behavior you mentioned occurs when SRProc and SRBroker is unable to connect to Database.
Please Check Following.
1. Is Siebel Gateway Running Successfully? Please verify that Siebel Gateway listening on Standard port 2320. You can verify this by following command.
netstat -na | grep 2320
or
ps -aef | grep siebns
2. Change directory to <SIEBEL_ROOT>/siebsrvr/enterprises/<ENT_NAME>/<APP_SRVR>/log directory.
3. Do you see any logs here? If yes, please let me know the errror message in logs.
Hope this helps. All the best.

Hi amigo I solve my problem with the next:
OK, all above is good but in the manual they mistake something.... one step.
(All succesful with --> ========================*Step 3 (try 2)*==============)
1.- Ok, if you got every thing like above the last thing you need is follow the next link:
http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/fusion_middleware/im1014/oim/obe12_using_gtc_for_reconciliation/using_the_gtc.htm
Go to: "Modifying the GTC" ( just do this part)
Restart the OIM and Enjoy it.
Good day Amigo.
And don't forget on step three:
Click the Edit icon of the User ID field of the OIM - User data set.
b. On the Step 1: Provide Field Information page:
- From the Mapping Action list, select Create Mapping Without Transformation.
- Select Matching Only.
- Click Continue.
Mapping Information page, select Reconciliation
Staging from the Dataset list, select EMPLOYEE_ID (your ID Field) from the Field Name
list, and then click Continue.
If something go bad, tell me the steps like I did with the log.... see ya

Hello Folks and Expert,
I am Certified Ora DBA and am stuck, thats a shame
I am going to install and Test Oracle 10g on Vista as my future client will use Just Vista and no othr OS, so there is no OTHER OS options,

I downloaded the DB which is frm the below link:

I ready all the documentaiotn and release notes and also read that Oracle 10g(10.2.0.3) is certified on Vita Ultimate.
I downloaded the DB which is frm the below link:

steps I have done:
1. Installed loppback and tested and it works when I ping, both ping computer and ping computer.domain with no error.

2. Under MMC I added cmputer local policy for local computer
3. Also Under "Local security setting" under "Local Policies" Under "User right Assignment" Under "Log on as a Batch job" I added the User name which was created when weload the Vista for the first time which is the Computer Admin, ALSO REALOADED THE COMPUTER WITH TH FACTORY SETTING AND AFTER THE FIST BOOT, UNLOCKED THE "ADMINISTRATOR" USER OF THE OS AND TESTED WITH THE ADMIN USER AS WELL WHICH WAS ADDED TO THIS lOG ON AS A BATCH JOB.
