Oracle lite xsql web to go installation error
I have installed Oracle lite in windows 2000 professional. I installed the XSQL also. I configureged web to go. I get the demo (index.html) screen. I changed the connection name in helloworld.xsql to lite. WhenI try to run it
I am getting the following error
XSQL-007: Cannot acquire a database connection to process page.
java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: oracle.lite.poljdbc.POLJDBCDriver
What should I do to correct this?
null
the web-to-go server portion of Oracle Lite can only be installed on NT at this time. the future relase version 4.1.1 should support solaris (per oracle support).
After installation on the server side is complete, the web-to-go client software can be pushed down by connecting through a web browser to your web-to-go server by
typing http://yourwebtogoservername/webtogo/setup
the client setup.exe file that will download can be run on 95,98 and NT (per Oracle support)

On RHEL 5.7, Oracle 11.2.0.3 Client installation error
Hello Friends,
I am getting below error while installing Oracle 11gR2 client on a RHEL5.7 Machine. After I finished the installation by silent mode whenever I am launching the sqlplus /nolog command
sqlplus: error while loading shared libraries: libclntsh.so.11.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
whereas I guess the settings in .bash_profile seems ok. Please validate:
[oracle@localhost ~]$ cat .bash_profile
# .bash_profile
# Get the aliases and functions
if [ -f ~/.bashrc ]; then
. ~/.bashrc
fi
# User specific environment and startup programs
PATH=$PATH:$HOME/bin
export PATH
export ORACLE_BASE=/u01/oracle
export ORACLE_HOME=/u01/oracle/oraapp
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$ORACLE_HOME/lib
export PATH=/u01/oracle/oraapp/bin:$PATH
I checked metalink where It is said that this could be because of RPM, ID 1329085.1
Also please find the gcc details:
[oracle@localhost ~]$ gcc -v
Using built-in specs.

Any help on this problem would be really nice

Oracle 8.1.6 for NT installation error
Hi, I have oracle 7.3 client installed on a NT server. I then installed 8.1.6 in a different directory. The installation hit an error on ms???.dll file. By ignoring the message, the installation is successful. I can connect to a Oracle database server vi sqlplus and query the table. While Access 97
will just hang when I try to link the table. Question, can I remove the ms???.dll and do
another install? Should I uninstall the 7.3 before I install 8.1.6. Any comments will be appreciated.
nullDear:
My English is bad, but I think you will understand me what I
saying.I show what i did in my computer system.
First: I download i386-glibc-2.1-linux.tar.bz2,
readme.oracle8i from
ftp://ftp.ca.kernel.org/pub/software/libs/glibc/hjl/sdk/2.1
and
Second : I read the file readme.oracle8i,and do what it
said.
It's ok to solve the problem.
Good Luck. -
Oracle 10g (10.2.0.1) installation error
Hi everyone !!! I know that Oracle doesn't support FreeBSD but I'm my problem is probably stopping a decision of choosing Oracle as a project database. This means licenses guys!!!!! Can you please just guide me for a solution to my problem?
I need to test Oracle 10g in FreeBSD. I've installed FreeBSD 7 from the ISOs in Freebsd homepage with full base system and full packages. I've then activated the linux_base-fc4 linux emulation port and compile a new kernel version for Oracle with:
options COMPAT_LINUX
options SEMMAP=128
options SEMMNI=128
options SEMMNS=32000
options SEMOPM=100
options SEMMSL=250
options SHMMAXPGS=262144
options SHMMNI=4096
options SHMSEG=4096
options MAXDSIZ="(1024*1024*1024)"
options MAXSSIZ="(1024*1024*1024)"
options DFLDSIZ="(1024*1024*1024)"
I've then created an Oracle account with the /compat/linux/bin/bash sheel for linux compatability. I unzip the 10201_..... oracle zip for linux and run the installer from within oracle account.
I've manage to solve a lot of problems but with this one I'm stucked!!! At 62% I receive a message box saying "Error invoking target 'relink' of makefile ins_precomp.mk". I go to the make.log and I see:
/usr/bin/make -f ins_precomp.mk relink ORACLE_HOME=/home/oracle/10gR2 EXENAME=proc/Linking /home/oracle/10gR2/precomp/lib/proc

I can't find out what is missing. Can you give me an idea?Hi everyone !!! I know that Oracle doesn't support FreeBSD but I'm my problem is probably stopping a decision of choosing Oracle as a project database. This means licenses guys!!!!! Can you please just guide me for a solution to my problem?
Since you are calling the 'Licenses guys' I assume you have a valid Oracle License for your project. Don't expect Oracle support services to monitor this forum, everyone here are regular oracle users and we are not in any way related with Oracle Support.
If you have a valid Oracle CSI you should raise a SR in Metalink. And since you already know FreeBSD is not a supported platform, then there are no surprises, you know where the problem is. It may work after some workarounds, but you are on your own and dessuported. The only free linux supported by Oracle is OEL, and if you are planning to use Oracle it means you should change the OS.

Oracle RAC 10g R2 in Windows Installation error
Hi!
Can anyone help me with this one?
I have trying to installa RAC 10g R2 in Windows Server 2008 R2. I am encountering the error below:

Oracle BEA Platform 10.2 MP1 Installation Error
Hi,
I'm trying to install Oracle BEA Platform 10.2 MP1 (using the generic installer) on Windows 7 64 bit OS.
After I proceed from the 'Create a new bea home' step, right before installing any files it gives me the error "A fatal error has occured, this application will terminate" and on clicking on Ok, it quits the installer.
I have Weblogic 10.2 MP1 installed on my machine using the 32-bit installer and it works fine. I'm just trying to install the 64-bit version to extract maximum memory performance.
Also, the version of java installed on my machine is 1.6:
java version "1.6.0_17"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_17-b04)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 14.3-b01, mixed mode)
Any idea how to resolve the error?
Thanks!Hi,
Patch 6365595 is an application which should be applied as applmgr user using adpatch. Please refer to the following threads for details about applying application patches.

There could be two reasons.
1) You may be having classesXX.zip where XX can be 111 or 12 in the classpath.
Remove this from your system classpath
2) Check the symjit.dll and rename it to some other name in your system. This file belongs to XP and has some problems in running Java programs in P4.

A problem regarding set up of Oracle Lite 3.6.0.2.0 on Win 95, with JDK 1.1.8 and Java 2 SDK ( Ver 1.3 Beta)
After the installation of Oracle Lite 3.6.0.2.0 on a laptop (with WIN 95 OS), When I run Oracle Lite Designer from start menu, I receive following error message :
====================================
Invalid class name 'FILES\ORA95_2\LITE\DESIGNER\oldes.jar;C:\PROGRAM'
usage: java [-options] class
where options include:
-help print out this message
-version print out the build version

-noclassgc disable class garbage collection

-prof[:<file>] output profiling data to .\java.prof or .\<file>
-verify verify all classes when read in

-noverify do not verify any class
-nojit disable JIT compiler
Please make sure that JDK 1.1.4 (or greater) is installed in your machine and CLASSPATH is set properly. JAVA.EXE must be in the PATH.
====================================
My ORACLE_HOME is c:\program files\ora95_2 and Oracle Lite is installed under the ORACLE_HOME in LITE\DESIGNER directory.
JDK version is 1.1.8 which is greater than 1.1.4 installed in c:\program files\jdk1.1.8, My PATH, and CLASSPATH are set in AUTOEXEC.BAT as follows:
set CLASSPATH=c:\Progra~1\jdk1.1.8\lib\classes.zip;c:\progra~1\ora95_2\lite\classes\olite36.jar;c:\progra~1\ora95_2\lite\designer\oldes.jar;c:\progra~1\ora95_2\lite\designer\swingall.j ar
PATH=C:\Progra~1\Ora95_2\bin;.;c:\Progra~1\jdk1.1.8\lib;c:\Progra~1\jdk1.1.8\bin;C:\Progra~1\Ora95_2\lite\Designer;C:\WIN95;C:\WIN95\COMMAND;C:\UTIL
And, I can run JAVA.EXE from any directory on command prompt.
With JAVA 2 SDK (ver 1.3 Beta) instead of JDK 1.1.8 I'm getting a different Error message as follows:
=============================
java.lang.NoClassFoundError: 'FILES\ORA95_2\LITE\DESIGNER\oldes.jar;C:\PROGRAM'
Please make sure that JDK 1.1.4 (or greater) is installed in your machine and CLASSPATH is set properly. JAVA.EXE must be in the PATH.
==============================
the PATH and CLASSPATH were set accordingly, as with JDK1.1.8, and there was no classes.zip in classpath
also the class file or the jar file looks weird or wrapped in the error message : 'FILES\ORA95_2\LITE\DESIGNER\oldes.jar;C:\PROGRAM'
Another interesting thing I noticed is if I run oldes.exe from Installation CD, the Oracle Lite Designer runs fine, and without error, I'm able to modify tables in the database of my laptop also.
Could someone shade some light on what am I doing wrong here ?
Thanks for help in advance .

Additional query... on Oracle Lite
Dear All,
I have a few additional queries on the question I posted before
ADditional queries :
==================
1) What software does lie on the Windows CE platform and how do we install it, because if we install Oracle lite for handheld devices it installs it on the PC?
2) How can the replication be done with the Polite.odb on windows CE device in the simplest possible way?
3) If I want to connect to this polite.odb how can i do that from my PC?
Previous question :
==================
I am working on a prototype between Oracle Lite and Oralce 8i database. I have managed to install oracle lite on PC and also manage the replication between the Oracle database and Oracle Lite database. I can also connect to the Oracle Lite database (It is a ODB file) through SQL plus. But I am having a few problems :
1) While connecting to Oracle Lite database I get a message
"Server not available or version too low for this feature" without any oracle error number. The versions are as follows : Oracle Open Client Adapter for ODBC 6.0.5.3.0
Oracle Lite ORDBMS 4.0.0.2.0
Oracle8i Enterprise Edition Release 8.1.5.0.0 - Production
With the Partitioning and Java options
PL/SQL Release 8.1.5.0.0 - Production
To connect to Oracle Lite database, your give the userid/password@odbc:<<oracle lite dbname>>
What can be the possible reasons?
2) I tried to create a database link between the Oracle Lite database and Oracle database and when I try to fire a select on a table in Oracle Lite database I get an error
"ORA-06401: NETCMN: invalid driver designator"
so how dow we create a database link between these 2 databases?
Thanks in advance
Please send your mails to [email protected] and/or [email protected]

nullHi Aman,
I was going through Oracle® Database Concepts 11g Release 2, Chapter 12 Logical Storage Structures (link below):
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e25789/logical.htm#i19599
*Automatic Segment Space Management*
The ASSM method uses bitmaps to manage space. Bitmaps provide the following advantages:
•Simplified administration
ASSM avoids the need to manually determine correct settings for many storage parameters. Only one crucial SQL parameter controls space allocation: PCTFREE. This parameter specifies the percentage of space to be reserved in a block for future updates (see "Percentage of Free Space in Data Blocks").
•Increased concurrency
Multiple transactions can search separate lists of free data blocks, thereby reducing contention and waits. For many standard workloads, application performance with ASSM is better than the performance of a well-tuned application that uses MSSM.
•Dynamic affinity of space to instances in an Oracle Real Application Clusters (Oracle RAC) environment
ASSM is more efficient and is the default for permanent, locally managed tablespaces.Regards,

Where is Oracle Lite DB installed? In Soa Suite inst. dir? Service needed?
As far as I know Soa Suite can use a separate "full" Oracle (Express) DB.
However user can omit this separate DB and use the built-in "Oracle lite" Database.
Is this Oracle lite DB installed in the installation directory of Soa Suite or somewhere else on the hard disc?
Does it need a Win service to run (similar to "full" Oracle DB) or does it run on-demand
in AppServer?
Peteryou can go from olite to full DB, but not the other way round. When you do this change you may lose state in your inflight messages.
to migrate from olite to Oracle DB do the following:
1.) Ensure that the new target database is running.
2.) Run IRCA script to create schemas for BPEL, ESB and OWSM in the new Database:
Eg: irca all "localhost 1521 v102" welcome -overwrite3.) Make a backup of the file:
${OC4J_HOME}\config\data-sources.xml4.) Change the following ESB and BPEL connection pools to point to new DB resource.
* BPELPM_CONNECTION_POOL
* ESBAQJMSPool
* ESBPool
You can use either Enterprise Manager Console to perform this changes or edit the file: ${OC4J_HOME}\config\data-sources.xml
Below is a sample of configuration for BPELPM_CONNECTION_POOL:
<connection-pool name="BPELPM_CONNECTION_POOL">
<connection-factory factory-class="oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleDataSource"
user="orabpel_OracleAS_1"
password="orabpel" url="jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1521:xe"/>
</connection-pool>5.) If you are changing from Olite DB to Oracle EE, look in the project's build.properties files for DB_URL and change DB_VENDOR from "olite" to "oracle"
DB_VENDOR=oracleotherwise no change is neccesary.
6.) Update ESB Metadata - Log into ESB schema (ORAESB) and change the value of DT_OC4J_HOST and DT_OC4J_HTTP_PORT to match your environment Hostname and Port and by running the following SQL script:
insert into esb_parameter values('ACT_ID_RANGE', '400');
insert into esb_parameter values('DT_OC4J_HOST', 'soainternal.mycompany.com');
insert into esb_parameter values('DT_OC4J_HTTP_PORT', '7777');
insert into esb_parameter values('PROP_NAME_INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY', 'com.evermind.server.rmi.RMIInitialContextFactory');
insert into esb_parameter values('PROP_NAME_DEFERRED_TCF_JNDI', 'OracleASjms/MyTCF');
insert into esb_parameter values('PROP_NAME_DEFERRED_XATCF_JNDI', 'OracleASjms/MyXATCF');
insert into esb_parameter values('PROP_NAME_DEFERRED_TOPIC_JNDI','OracleASjms/ESBDeferredTopic');
insert into esb_parameter values('PROP_NAME_ERROR_TCF_JNDI', 'OracleASjms/MyTCF');
insert into esb_parameter values('PROP_NAME_ERROR_XATCF_JNDI', 'OracleASjms/MyXATCF');
insert into esb_parameter values('PROP_NAME_ERROR_TOPIC_JNDI', 'OracleASjms/ESBErrorTopic');
insert into esb_parameter values('PROP_NAME_ERROR_RETRY_JNDI', 'OracleASjms/ESBErrorRetryTopic');
insert into esb_parameter values('PROP_NAME_ERROR_RETRY_TCF_JNDI', 'OracleASjms/MyXATCF');
insert into esb_parameter values('PROP_NAME_MONITOR_TCF_JNDI', 'OracleASjms/MyTCF');
insert into esb_parameter values('PROP_NAME_MONITOR_TOPIC_JNDI', 'OracleASjms/ESBMonitorTopic');
insert into esb_parameter values('PROP_NAME_CONTROL_TCF_JNDI', 'OracleASjms/MyXATCF');
insert into esb_parameter values('PROP_NAME_CONTROL_TOPIC_JNDI', 'OracleASjms/ESBControlTopic');

select * from esb_parameter7.) Restart the SOA container and verify the opmn and J2EE container logs for any errors.

Is XMLTYPE not supported in Oracle Lite?
I tried to create a XMLTYPE column in Oracle Lite. I am getting this error.
[POL-5147] this feature is not supported. Is XMLTYPE not supported in oracle lite ?
Can anyone help me understand how to create XMLTYPE column in oracle lite?
Thanks..Or you could say that they are supported, but sharpening, moire and de-noise are not available (or just set to default), which is actually more Canon's fault. sRAW is a major mess and we're very lucky it's even supported in AP3, finally.

Hi,
I have installed oracle lite 5.0.1
During installation It has asked for the existing database server paramter( host, port, service)
It has created on user called mobileadmin
Now, How to start the oracle lite server.
If anybody can let me know where the oracle lite exactly
should be used.
Thanks and Regards,
JigarThe mobileadmin is only for the oracle 9i lite repository. To Start the mobile server you should use a command prompt and type "wedtogo" first. you will see some commands running. If the commands runs correctly then open an IE and type
http://serverIP:[port]/webtogo
and you should get the server interface. The default user name for the server is Administrator and password is admin. Try if it works.
Oracle Lite is a small DB on PDA and PC. To sync the data between Oracle Lite and Oracle DB server, you need to have the mobile server installed.
