ORACLE NETWORK MANAGER 기본적인 사용방법
========================================
I. TERMINOLOGY TO KNOW BEFORE USING THIS GUIDE
A. community - a set of nodes that use the same network protocol.
B. listener - a service that waits for incoming requests from client
and server nodes.
C. system identifier - (SID) name of the Oracle database instance,
which is usually the same as the database name
II. NETWORK CONFIGURATION STEPS
A. Develop a pictorial representation of the network.
B. Provide configuration data to Network Manager.
C. Save the network configuration data and generate the configuration files.
Step A. Develop a pictorial representation of the network.
The sample network is a single protocol TCP/IP network with two
databases. Each node has one listener.
Step B. Provide configuration data to Network Manager.
Network Manager requires information about the objects in the
network before it creates the configuration files. There is an
on-line walk-through which leads you through the creation of a
network definition from the beginning (specification of definitions)
to the end (generation of the configuration files). The walk-through
provides information in pop-up boxes before each step. During the
walk through, a series of object property sheets, which gather the
data about network objects, appear with values which you may need
to alter.
** Tasks **
1. Launch Network Manager and click OK to store the network definition
in a file. In the Open window click Cancel.
2. Choose New from the File pull-down menu to start a new network
definition. Use the on-line walk through and click OK in the Network
Description dialog box.
3. In the Community property sheet, enter TCP as the name of the
community and choose TCP/IP from the protocol list box. Close the
community property sheet by clicking OK.
4. a. To define a node, enter the node name, TCP_node1, in the Node
property sheet.
b. Specify UNIX as the type of operating system in the drop-down
list.
c. Click on the community folder tab. Add TCP.WORLD to the node
community list (Note:WORLD is a default suffix) and close the
node property sheet by clicking OK.
5. Click OK to close the Node property sheet. To create the node,
TCP_node2, repeat step 4 and specify the type to be OS/2.
6. Create a listener in the Listener property sheet, by entering
TCP_listener1 as the name and choosing TCP_node1 in the node
pull-down menu to indicate what node TCP_listener1 will listen to.
Select the addresses folder tab and click Create. This defines the
address of the listener. A service address property sheet appears
with the address information as default values. Click OK.
7. Click the database folder tab to define a database for the listener.
In the Database property sheet, click Create to specify information
about the Oracle database that will be included in the network.
Enter TCP_DB1 as the name of the database. Click TCP_node1 as the
node. Enter the SID: db1. In the Operating System Specific Details
field, enter the directory path of the Oracle executables, i.e.
/usr/oracle for Unix or c:\oraos2\ for OS/2. Click OK to close the
Database property sheet.
8. Click OK to close the listener property sheet. To create
TCP_listener2, repeat steps 6-7 and substitute TCP_node2, TCP_DB2,
and db2 for the node, database, and SID, respectively.
Note: The on-line walk-through automatically validates the network configuration.
Step C. Save the network configuration data and generate configuration files.
1. Save the network definition.
2. Click File System in the Export Network Definition dialog box and
click OK. Choose the directory and click OK. The network definition
is now complete and the configuration files are generated.
III. OTHER INFORMATION
A. About the configuration files
If the network definition is saved to the file system,
Network Manager creates two types of subdirectories within the
directory chosen to store the network definition.
These are: a node specific directory, which has the same name as the
node and contact configuration files for the service the node provides,
and a client profile directory, which has the same name as the client
community and contains configuration files for each client.
B. Hardware and Software Requirements
PC with 6Mb disk, IBM or 100% compatible with an 80386 processor
or higher one CD-ROM drive
MS-DOS Version 5.0 or later and Windows 3.1

Hi Steve,
1) PL/SQL API for Network Analysis is coming in Oracle 10g Release 2.
2) In Oracle 10g Release 1 it is a requirement to load the entire network. Loading the entire street network of new york city on my 1 Ghz laptop requires about 1 minute. In Oracle 10g Release 2 you can specify a predicate on the load network so you do not have to load the entire network.
3) Source code for elocation will be available as an Oracle 10g Release 2 feature (I'm not sure what the "name" of the feature is, but it is a bundling of geocoding and routing, and when combined with MapViewer is a complete "elocation in a box" type of feature.
Hope this helps.

  • Oracle BPM for Network Management Projects

Has anybody used Oracle BPM for network management projects with millions of events?
    Can Oracle BPM handle it?

Please follow this step may this solve your problem.
please modify any thing in process "ExpenseReporting" for example any transition or any activity to place some where else or any other modification and then save that process. Then clean the project and build and deploy it.
if this also not solve the problem then export that project to and import it again in your workspace (Create new workspace or change the project name in same workspace ) and then again clean, build and deploy the application then test in work space.

A slight off-subject question, do I need to run anything on OVM (apart from setting on all servers the same password)?

  • WindowsXP (HVM, PV Driver) can't shutdown/reboot by Oracle VM Manager 3.0.3

I install a virtual machine (Windows XP SP3) as HVM/PV withOracle VM Windows Paravirtual (PV) Drivers 3.0.1.
Oracle VM Manager 3.0.2 can shutdown / reboot the virtual machine with PV driver, but Oracle VM Manager 3.0.3 can not do that.
Also when I install the Oracle VM Windows Paravirtual (PV) Drivers 3.0.1 to Windows XP SP3, the virtual machine has two NICs.
One is "Realtek RTL8139 Family PCI Fast Ethernet NIC", and the other one is "ORacle VM Virtual Ethernet Adapter".
Both NIC are connecting the VM Network.
I think when the PV drivers installed to the virtual machine, the original NIC should be disapper.
    Does anybody has same problem?

    Yes. I tried two ways as below;
    1) I made the virtual machine as "HVM" mode, then I install Windows XP SP3,.
After installed OS I installed the PV drivers, then I shutdown the virtual machine and I switched the mode to "HVM with PV Drivers", and booted it.
    2) I made the virtual machine as "HVM with PV Drivers" mode, then I install Windows XP SP3.
After installed OS I installed the PV drivers, and rebooted it.
Both of them I can't shutdown the virtual machine from Oracle VM manager.
I can see these Oracle VM devices in device manager, "Oracle VM Virtual Disk Controller", "Oracle VM Virtual PCI Bus", "Oracle VM Virtual SCSI Disk Device","Oracle VM Virtual Ethernet Adapter".
And "Oracle VM Service" is installed as Windows service and running.
The "Oracle VM Virtual Ethernet Adapter" can connect my VM networks without problem.
I think Oracle VM 3.0.2 does not have this kind of problems.
My oracle VM 3.0.3 are not upgraded from 3.0.2. It is fresh.

    Frank,
Sorry I didn't see this before, but it wasn't on the most recent posts. Please see related post here OVM Sparc - Can't discover local disks
The net is that the initial support for Oracle VM Manager with Oracle VM Server for SPARC only supports NFS for repository (and virtual disks). A later release will permit virtual disks from FC SAN, iSCSI, and local disk as well as NFS. The linked not provides more information and a link to beta code.  regards, Jeff

  • Functions: Oracle VM Manager vs. Grid Control Oracle VM Management Update

    Hello guys,
i have seen both tools .. and i have to say that some really basic functions are missing in the Oracle VM management addon for Grid Control 10.2.0.5 .. just some examples:
    - Renaming virtual machines (because of the prefix syntax is not very useful)
    - Adding ISOs as CD/DVD after removing them one from the profile (until now you need to know the whole path to the DVD, even if the ISO is registered in the repository)
    - Renaming image files (for example the disks of the VMs .. this would be very helpful in case of cloning machines)
    - List the VNC port for the running VMs
All these features are available under the VM Manager (except the renaming file part) ... do you know when this will be implemented or is the Oracle VM management update already "finished" in its functions.
    Regards

    Hi,
You can manage your Oracle VM environment using Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c. Using Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c you can discover Oracle VM Servers, discover storage servers and file systems, create and edit server pools, set up networks and create storage repositories.
for more information, look at this URL.
I hope this can help you

  • Oracle Connection Manager

    Hi,
i'm having a problem configuring Oracle Connection Manager. It does start the instance of connection manager
    Summary of my environment is
10g Application server and infrastructure machine OS: Windows 2003
    9i Database Server: Windows 2003
    Client : Java Applet
    JDBC driver type : THIN
Installed: 10g Infra first and then 10g midiier(portal and wireless) in seperate oracle homes on the same machine. Eveything is up and running as i was able to login seperately in infra and midtier enterprise managers.
Final Goal : Trying to connect to an Oracle 9i database on a differnt machine than the appserver using an applet, thin drivers and Oracle Connection Manager
Problem : Connection manager instance not started however cmanADMIn service started.
    CMCTL:CMAN_oracle9-app> administer cmanOracleAS
Current instance cmanOracleAS is not yet started
    Connections refer to (address=(protocol=tcp)(host=10.10.1.101)(port=1610)).
    The command completed successfully.

    Service Oracleoracle_infraCMAdmincmanOracleAS already running.
TNS-04012: Unable to start Oracle Connection Manager instance.
    CMCTL:cmanOracleAS>
Steps done to configure Oracle Connection manager
    1. Copied 4 .exe (CMADMIN, CMCTL,CMGW,CMMIGR) files to bin folder of Appserver or midtier's main ORACLE_HOME/BIN folder.
    2) created a cman.ora file and copied in appservers /NETWORK/ADMIN directory
    3) On cammand prompt type CMCTL...ADMINISTER cman_OracleAS where cman_OracleAS is the name of cman instance used in cman.ora file.

  • Oracle Configuration Manager - No database target

    Hi,
i've installed the latest version of the oracle configuration manager (10.3.3.1.0) in my database home and ran the installCCRSQL.sh script successfully against the database instance.
Unfortunately i don't see any database instance target in the metalink system section nor if i run the "emCCR disable_target" command. A "Host", "Oracle Home" and a "Oracle Configuration Manager" target are available.
For the installation, i set the following environment variables:
    ORACLE_CONFIG_HOME=/oracle/product/11.1.0/db_1
    OLDPWD=/oracle/product/11.1.0/db_1/ccr/bin
    ORACLE_SID=MIST
    ORACLE_BASE=/oracle
    TNS_ADMIN=/oracle/admin/network
    HOME=/home/oracle
    ORACLE_HOME=/oracle/product/11.1.0/db_1
I'm running oracle enterprise linux 5.4 and oracle database 11.1.0.7.
Can anyone tell me why I don't have a database instance target?
    Regards,
    P. Liniger

    anyone?

  • How to install oracle connection manager on solaris 10

I have installed oracle application server 10.1.2 on solaris 10. How do i install oracle connection manager utility.
My end goal is to use applets/jdbc.
    Thanks

    Thank you Zettabyte!!
Folks, network printers should NOT BE configured like this:
    lpadmin -p somequeue -s someprinter
that creates a remote style queue and puts all the I/O and processing capability on the basic LPD listener present on network printer interfaces. This will cause problems down the road, not to mention that you cannot control access, get any logging, filter content, or control banner pages.
Network printers should use any software (or PPD file) supplied by the vendor over the basic lpadmin/netstandard config.
You can install CUPS, but Oracle won't support it until it's part of the OS (S11, apparently).
The "System Administration Guide: Solaris Printing" is highly recommended for those administering printers on Solaris.

  • Updating Oracle VM Manager from 3.1.1 to 3.2.1 where server is yum repo

I have a server running Oracle Enterprise Linux 6.3. Upon which is running Oracle VM Manager 3.1.1 ("BUILDID=3.1.1.305" from /u01/app/oracle/ovm-manager-3/.config).
This server is also my Oracle Enterprise Linux yum repo. This means its subscribed channels are (on ULN):
    - Latest Unbreakable Enterprise Linux Kernel for Oracle Linux (x86_64)
    - Oracle Linux 6 Add ons (x86_64)
    - Oracle Linus 6 Latest (x86_64)
    - Oracle VM 3 latest
    - Oracle VM 3.2.1 Server Patches
Note that the last one was "Oracle VM 3.1.1 Server Patches" until this attempt to update. The "Yum Server" button is also ticked on ULN and I've followed the instructions on http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/articles/servers-storage-admin/yum-repo-setup-1659167.html.
Now, when I attempt a "yum update" on this server I get the following:

You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem
You could try running: rpm -Va nofiles nodigest
Can someone please explain what mistakes I've made so I can get this box updated (both OS and Oracle VM Manager), please? Do I simply need to exclude some channels for the duration of the update of the local box, then add them back in for the repo mirroring to continue working?
    With thanks,
    Ben

It appears that for the most part the package ovs-release is the problem. To judge from the first half of a failed yum update. Why isn't there an ovs-release package that references el6 packages? Really, did I make a mistake installing Oracle VM Manager on OL6 given that http://public-yum.oracle.com/repo/OracleVM/OVM3/latest/x86_64/ contains only "el5"-tagged packages?

    Hi guys,
I am new to Oracle so I have 2 basic Technology&Software questions for an RFI, which I wasn't able to find answered for EBS R12:
8.1 Please list any specific hardware requirements/prerequisites your company’s product may have with regards to the application & database servers, clients/workstations…
8.2 Please list any specific software requirements/prerequisites your company’s products may have with regards to the operating system, database….
I know it is pretty basic stuff, but would appreciate any kind of information on these topics.
    Thanks a lot!
