Oracle OES: Possible to use XPath wildcards in OES authorization policies?

Hi,
I have policies to authorize WS-requests using OES through OWSM.
In the OES policies I retrieve attributes from the WS-request using XPath expressions.
When I use namespace in my XPath it all works well:
NAMESPACE tns=http://myns/
myAttr //tns:myVal
But I have several WS-requests that have different namespaces, but that i need to authorize using the same policy, so I would like to use a wildcard for the namespace. But when I try the attribute retriever doesn't find the node value:
myAttr //*:myVal
When i use tools to check the XPath, like SoapUI, I am able to get the node value using the expression above.
Does anyone have experience using XPath wildcards in OES policies?

I understand that the LDAP structure design depends on the business goals and requirements and we are defnitely building the schema in that lines. But the thing we want to make sure is how flexible are the products like OIM, OAM and OES to provide user authentication(if the user is deep down in the tree), authorization (if the user needs to be authorized to services having attributes deep down in the tree), mapping complex relationships and permissions in conjunction with OID.
I think the other way of asking this question would be what we should take into consideration while designing the LDAP structure in OID as the backend LDAP store and what things we should leave whille designing LDAP structure in OID that could be considered while designing the authentication, authorization process in OIM, OAM and OES.
Our goal is to keep the LDAP structure simple and flexible but at the sametime use OAM, OES and OIM at their best capabilities to serve our purpose without lot of customizations required.
Thanks!

  • Using xpath expressions in Document-Builder

    Hi all
    we have re-designed our (existing) DDX-templates with the Document Builder in LC Workbench. The DDX templates are used to assemble PDFs with LC Assembler-Service.
    Now my question: Is it still possible to use XPath-expression in the DDX template? Please find our example below:
    The XPath expression works only if we copy&paste the DDX source code directly to the Assembler-Service property view (picture below). But referring the DDX-template doens't interpret the xpath path at run time (2nd picture below). Any help on that will be appreciated!
    Works (using DDX source code directly):
    Doesn't work (using DDX template):

    Hi,
    >
    I tried to get a portion of an XML by using XPath Expressions as follows:
    String xPathExpression =
    "declare namespace xq='http://inti.notariado.org/indices' " +
    "$this/xq:RULES/xq:RULE[@disabled]";
    I think any XPath expressions which use [] are not supported in stand alone
    version, but as this is not documented I could be wrong.

  • Can I use a wildcard in mail filter?

    Is it possible to use a wildcard in Rules to eliminate certain emails? I want to automatically delete emails that have a certain word in them -- and have set up a rule to do so -- but a few still sneak through by having that certain word as part of a longer word.
    Further on this: I have avoided almost all spam up till now by telling friends not to send me emails unless directed solely to me -- i.e. that I'm not a part of a large "Cc" list that others forward on with my email address included. But recently I received an email with several names in the "Cc" list, mine included, and I suspect that is where the problem started -- when others on that list forwarded the email to others, and so on.
    QUES: does using "Bcc" instead of "Cc" stop this problem -- the problem of my email address appearing when an email is forwarded?

    Why rules are poor to use...
    It takes surprisingly little information to make a word recognizable, especially if you include context. You could probably remove any two letters, duplicate any two, use any combination of spaces between one or more of the letters, substitute any one of thousands of different characters, include any character in any location as an extra, etc., etc...

  • Is it possible to use wildcards to match cell contents in an if statement?

    I need to return a ID along with some other information on a page by page basis, so that the information comes out linked by position.  I use a couple of loops and if statements to navigate through the document.  I am able to use exact matches of cell contents which is fine when the contents doesn't vary.  But the IDs, though they have a similar pattern, are all different. In a menu driven search, I am able to find what I need with '150^9^9^9^9^9-^9^9^9' But when I try putting this (or any number of [0-9], *, ? combinations) it fails.  Is it possible to use wildcards?  The symbol used for the match (==) makes me suspect that it is not possible and that only literal, exact matches will work.  But I wanted to check with the experts before giving up.
    Thanks
    pcbaz

    Thanks for the input.  You're right, a GREP search is much more efficient.  But what I'm trying to do and the circumstances here don't allow me, I think,  to go that route. I am trying to generate a list of values coming from several textframes on a single page and have them come out so that I can tell which values belong together.
    I'm using an inherited document with masters that were created 'manually';  the index numbering for textframes and tables is random. I navigate through the pages, looping through textframe indices asking ' does this textframe exist?' If so, I ask if it is a table -- if no, it is a simple textframe and I ask about the ID, if yes, I ask if the contents of cell (0,0) (invariant position and contents) are equal to the table I want..  I am sending the ID and other pieces of information from the table to one row of a new table on a new page.  So the ID and other information from a single page are linked by being in the same row.
    I know this a little 'off-normal' -- I'm using the search to navigate through the document and find things by location the way you do with a spreadsheet.  I have devised a work-around that helps me get around the fact that the ID is not invariant.  I create a list of the (exact) IDs from another document, equating them to a variable ('a').  I then loop through the list of IDs and ask if the contents of the textframe is equal to 'a'..This works o.k, unless there happens to be an extra space, a different kind of hyphen, etc. It would be so much easier if I could use the wildcards that work in a menu-driven text or GREP search in script just to ask about the contents of the textframe.
    Thanks again
    pcbaz (Peter BIerly)
    P.S. we have since rewritten the masters so this problem will not exist in the future -- we now know exactly which textframe and/or table indices to refer to to get any particular bits of information and don't need to ask questions about the contents.

  • Is it possible to use an exact phrase and a wildcard in the same query

    I am building an address finder, and i have an option where the user can enter part or a full uk postcode. There is a ctxcat index on the address field. I am having a problem searching for part of the postcode, if i enter 'ZZ1 2*' it finds all ZZ1 and all house number 2's if i enter ' " ZZ1 2"*' it fails with an error, is this a bug or is it not possibl to use the exact phrasing and wildcard at the same time.
    If its not possible can anyone suggest another way round this query.
    Thank

    hi,
    in my table i have a column called address,
    these would contain something along the lines of these 2 records.
    10 high street anytown ZZ1 3ZZ
    3 bridge street anytown ZZ1 8ZZ
    If searching on the postcode, the user may enter ZZ1 3 at the moment this would bring back both records, the first one from the ZZ1 and the second one from the house number 3. however if ZZ1 3 is entered i am wanting to just search on the postcode, so it would only match on the first record. so i would like to put the double quotes round the "ZZ1 3" to match on the exact phrase, but then no records come back because of the two letters after the 3, this was why i am asking about the wildcards after the exact phrase ,atch, so it can match the exact phrase of 'ZZ1 3' but then allow any characters after that.
    hope this explaings my problem a bit better.

  • Is it possible to use Oracle instead of DB2 with Netweaver Test-drive 2004?

    Dear all,
    Recently I ordered on SAP Knowledge shop the Netweaver Test-Drive 2004 DVD (the 32-bit version for Linux (Red Hat Enterprise)).
    Before the installation I had already installed Oracle Enterprise 11g (Release 2). However the DVD installed both AS and DB2.
    What I would like to ask is that is it possible to use my already installed Oracle database with Netweaver and

  • Does sun Cluster 3.0/3.1 HA Oracle agent support to use Oracle spfile?

    When defining the resource, the 'parameter_file' properties is usually sets to the Oracle pfile. Is it possible to use Oracle spfile?
    It is said if leaving 'parameter_file' NULL, it will be default to Oracle default. Suppose leaving it NULL and with Oracle spfile created in default location, will it use the spfile?

    You did not specify which Sun Cluster version and Oracle version you are running.
    Within SC 3.1 my understanding is that beginning with Oracle 9i it is possible to use the spfile.
    If you leave the "parameter_file" property empty (NULL) then the default behaviour for 9i should work:
    search under $ORACLE_HOME/dbs in the order:
    1. spfile$(ORACLE_SID}.ora
    2. spfile.ora
    3. init${ORACLE_SID}.ora

  • File System Task - using a wildcard in variable

    Hi,When using the "delete file" operation in the file system task I get an error stating that I have an incorrect path when using the wildcard symbol.  Is there a way around this or do I have to spell out the whole name for each file in the
    directiory.  I cannot not use the "delete directory contents" operation because I have two sub directiories in my directory.  I'm trying to use the following when I get the error
    \\devbox\df\*.csv  when I spell out whole name of the file it works.  Any suggestions?
    LISA86

    this cant be done like this. Only possible if you put file system task in for each loop container and perform deletion one at at time.
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms140185.aspx
    The File System task operates on a single file or directory. Therefore, this task does not support the use of wildcard characters to perform the same operation on multiple files. To have the File System task repeat an operation on multiple files or directories,
    put the File System task in a Foreach Loop container, as described in the following steps:
    Configure the Foreach Loop container   On the Collection page of the Foreach Loop Editor, set the enumerator to
    Foreach File Enumerator and enter the wildcard expression as the enumerator configuration for
    Files. On the Variable Mappings page of the Foreach Loop Editor, map a variable that you want to use to pass the file names one at a time to the File System task.
    Add and configure a File System task   Add a File System task to the Foreach Loop container. On the
    General page of the File System Task Editor, set the SourceVariable or
    DestinationVariable property to the variable that you defined in the Foreach Loop container.

  • Possible to use menuBar with task flow based ADF menus?

    Hello -
    I've just worked through the " [Create ADF Menus for Page Navigation|http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/11/cuecards111/adf_set_43/ccset43_ALL.html] " tutorial. It shows how to create menus based on your task flows.
    My question: is it possible to use the af:menuBar with these menu models (instead of navigationPanes or breadcrumbs) ?
    I am using JDev 11g 11.1.1.1.0
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    The XML menu model extends the Trinidad TreeModel, which extends Collection model. This allows you to access the hierarchical menu structure so that you can use af:iterator to build a structure to display in a af:menuBar

  • Is it possible to use SOA Suite 11g with JDeveloper's integrated WebLogic?

    Is it possible to use SOA Suite 11g with JDeveloper's integrated WebLogic? Or do you have to install an external WebLogic?
    Thanks for help.
    Edited by: user7722720 on 07-Dec-2011 02:04

    Hi
    By default, NO it is NOT possible to deploy any SOA Applications on Integrated Weblogic Server that comes with JDeveloper. This integrated weblogic server is very light weight basic weblogic server with single domain (only 1 AdminServer) to deploy a standard J2EE, ADF Applications like EJBs, WebApps, WebServices, ADF Apps etc. BUT SOA (having BPEL, BPMs etc ) cannot be deployed.
    There is an option to upgrade this integrated weblogic server and install SOA on top of this. Like download soa installer that matches with your JDeveloper version and install soa on top of this weblogic. BUT I strongly do not recommend this, because you will not be able to upgrade iin future to the latest versions.
    Yes, its always better to install the standalone Weblogic Server that matches with your JDeveloper version. Then install SOA on top of this Weblogic Server. Then create RCU Schemas in any Oracle Database. Run config wizard and create a SOA Domain. Now integrate this in your JDeveloper to deploy any soa applications.
    Make sure that JDeveloper, Weblogic Server, SOA Software, RCU all these versions should match and they should be same.
    Thanks

    NLSRTL Version 11.2.0.1.0 - Production The stored procedure adds a row to a table. There's a trigger on this table that fires when this occurs. This trigger uses DBMS_SCHEDULER to run a job. This job executes a C executable program on a remote server. When the C program finishes, it updates a field in a table in the database (using OCI driver) indicating the job is complete. The stored procedure needs to see this flag has been set showing the job is complete in order to continue.
    In a nutshell, the C program produces a lot of other results, and the stored procedure retrieves these results to send back to the calling java program. Of course, it must wait until the results are ready in the database before retrieving them.
    I'm a total newbie here (maybe there's a better way). I'd like to avoid polling if possible, thus my interest in DBMS_ALERT. I haven't been able to find clear, simple, and complete example online. I think often most discussion online give snippets that assume background knowledge.

  • XI File Adapter: Sender and the use of wildcards in the directory name

    Hi,
    Quick question for you XI guru's.  I have a requirement to <b>read</b> files from an ftp server that live in separate directories like:
    /dir1/subdir1/in/
    /dir1/subdir2/in/
    /dir1/subdir3/in/
    I want to setup the communication channel so that it does something like:
    /dir1/*/in
    Normally I would specify the other directories in the advanced tab however there could be potentially 1000's of subdir's so I want to use a wildcard.  Is it possible to do this with a directory name?
    I have read this link and it seems to only indicate using wildcards in the filename.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/bc/bb79d6061007419a081e58cbeaaf28/frameset.htm

    Hi,
    I think.. try as below
    It is better to use OS script to read the said three directories.
    bcz you know three directories. so you can use OS script file and that file can be configured in Ftp adapter.
    OS Command from FTP

  • Use of wildcard certificate

    Hi,
    We are going to use the UAG with a AD for the SSO of a sharepoint server and a set of 10+ web applications servers behind the UAG, the connections are supposed to be HTTPS; would like to know if the use of wild card server certificate is a mandatory
    in this kind of environment ? or a server certificate for each application server is also possible for this requirement ?
    Thanks a lot !

    Hi,
    it is not mandatory but recommended. The reason for recommendation is, that you can just use 1 trunk for publishing instead of 10 different trunks (10 IPs) if you use a single server SSL cert. E.g. if you use app01.domain.com to app10.domain.com.As an alternative
    to the wildcard cert you can use a SAN certificate which has all app host names  inlcuded. Just in case this makes a price difference.
    I would recommend to use the wildcard cert, because UAG configuration and management is much simpler as with the single server certificate and the SAN certificate is inflexible if you want add more apps because you have to request a new certificate if you
    add a new application.
    Hope that helps,
    Lutz

  • Using XPath for DOM traversal

    This question falls into the category of 'I know it's possible, I just need to find the idom in Java'.
    I'm coming from a MSFT world were the DOM-centric model of XML processing makes heavy use of XPATH for node selection. Basically using the method element.selectNodes(XPathExpresson) allows one to quickly extract the relevant subset of the parsed tree in the DOM as a nodeList. I've become accustomed to using XML for all strucutured storage that doesn't require a full database.
    The W3C DOM Level 3 spec supports evaluateExpression() for this purpose, but I can't believe that Java developers are still using tree traversal waiting for the spec to be implemented. I suppose that I could use getNodesByTagName(), but this is a chainsaw, and I need a scalpel. Anyway, I'm trying to figure out how, exactly, this gets done in Java.
    I figure the following are possibilities:
    1) It's in JAXP and I missed it
    2) One or more of the XML parsers supports XPATH as an extention
    3) There's a common package that sits on top of the DOM Document.
    4) There's a standard way to apply and XSLT methods to the DOM document
    5) Something I've never thought of.
    This is a generalized problem for me, so I can't rely on object serialization, Java-XML data mapping, etc. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

    I've written a Config file reader for XML in java,
    and it extracts values using XPath. This is
    some of the code you'll need:
    imports:
    import javax.xml.transform.TransformerException;
    import org.w3c.dom.*;
    import org.xml.sax.InputSource;
    import org.xml.sax.SAXException;
    import org.apache.xerces.parsers.DOMParser;
    import org.apache.xpath.XPathAPI;
    import org.apache.xpath.objects.*;
    Document doc=....;
    * returns a single DOM Node from the config file.
    public Node getNode(String xpath) throws ConfigException {
    try {
    return XPathAPI.selectSingleNode(doc, xpath);
    } catch (TransformerException e) {
    throw new ConfigException("Can't find '"+xpath+"' ("+e.getMessage()+")");
