No you cannot create .exe files for a Forms application.
Project Builder is now obsolete so I wouldn't really bother with using it.

  • TFS 2013 Build for PL/SQL and Oracle Projects

    Hi,
We use TFS Build with SQL Server Projects.
We also have PL/SQL projects .We are using MSSCCI to check in and check out files. Is there anyway we can use TFSbuild  for these projects( [PL/SQL]/Oracle) too ?
    Thank you.
    Su

    Hi Su,
    Thanks for your post.
How do you manually build  your PL/SQL/Oracle projects?
TFS Build invoke MSBuild command to build project/solution on build agent machine by default. If these projects can be built using MSBuild command line manually, then we can use TFS Build(default build process template) to build these projects.
If these projects need be built using another complier, and this compiler support run the command line to invoke it, so you can add the InvokeProcess activity(execute the command line) to invoke this compiler to build these projects in build process template,
then create build definition using this customized build process template.

  • Oracle installer scripts in Delivery wizard is disabled in Project builder

    Hi,
I have oracle forms 6i installed on my system. However, I was trying to builld installer scripts for my project. So I open the deliver wizard in Project builder. Select all the parameters, like project name/directory etc.and then when I reach the option of creating installer scripts, it is disabled while the others like,
Deliver to local staging, Deliver to a remote staging etc is enabled.
Any ideas, why I the installer scripts are disabled.?
    thnx
    S

    Soe more.
I read in the Oracle manual under the Guidelines for Building Applications
in the section Managing Your Application the following statement about project builder:
"Remember that you can automate the running of test scripts just as you can automate actions associated with the modules in your application.
    How would one do this???
    Thanks!

  • Oracle Warehouse Builder Project Demo

Can the OWB Project demo run on Oracle 9i Release 2 and Oracle 9i Warehouse Builder? If yes, are all the steps in OWBDemoGuide.doc similar? Thanks.

I've got this to work by installing OWB 3i, then using the metadata upgrade wizard to upgrade the .mdl file to the OWB 9i format. It then installs ok (not sure if it runs though...)
You'd probably get a better/quicker reply posting to the Business Intelligence > Oracle Warehouse Builder forum in future :-)

  • Running a project by clicking a icon without running oracle form builder

    Hi,
How can I Run a project by clicking a icon without running oracle form builder?????
    Regards
    Ashraf

    Hi!
For forms 6i client/server just create a shortcut for your application like:
%forms_home%\bin\ifrun60.exe your_formand set the working path to your forms folder.
For web forms create a shortcut with the url to your server/pc like this:
http://pcname:port/forms/frmservlet?config=your_configand create a config entry in your %forms_home%/forms/server/formsweb.cfg
for setting the modulename (fmx) and the working path for your application.

  • VS, ODT and using "Oracle Project"-template requires Policy Management

    HI,
I installed the ODT 11.1.0.6.20 and tried to create a new project using the "Oracle Project" but received the following error message: "The project <ProjectName> requires Policy Management. Open this project in Visual Studio.NET Enterprise Developer or Visual Studio.NET Enterprise Architect."
I have tried this using VS 2008 Professional and Team Edition. The operating systems is Vista x64 Ultimate.
Oracle documentation doesn't mention any specific VS version so this is perhaps something else. Is there a workaround or fix to get around this?
    TIA,
    Kari

OK, I'll give it a try. This suggestion makes perfect sense. I have used that template to create a project before, but noticed that it doesn't contain a windows form by default and so I assumed that it was a build for a n-tier application database access class, which is not necessarily what I want, and so I abandoned the effort. I know I can add a window form. I appreciate the response and will post back my results.
Is there an example project somewhere that I could download and have a look at?
Thanks again for your reply, even though you didn't reply to me. I think you resolved my problem! :-)

  • Oracle Map Builder Network Models

We are working on a project that displays road networks in Oracle Map Builder. Many of the network tables were irrevelant so they were deleted in SQL Developer. However, in Oracle MapBuilder all the Network Tables are still listed. Does anyone know how to synchonize Oracle SQL Developer and MapBuilder?
    Thank you,
    Renee

    Hi Renee,
Were you using the Network Themes to create new Network Themes or were you using Geometry Themes?
If you used Network Themes, when you deleted the network (tables), did you delete its entry in user_sdo_network_metadata?
If you were using the Geometry Themes, did you delete the entry from user_sdo_geom_metadata after you delete the geom. table?
Try to remove the entries in the network/geom metadata views when you no longer need the network/geom tables.
You also need to commit after you deleted the tables.
What version of MapBuilder are you using? (click Help->About Oracle Map Builder)

  • Project Builder 6.0.5.7.0 woes

    Couple of questions....
    1. Has anyone used this with Oracle Developer 6i? When I started to put in
all my items then picked tools:delivery wizard, the option to "Deliver
locally and create an Oracle Installer Script" is Greyed out. Any body else
    experience this?
    2. When I add reports objects (rdf), the node "Reports Builder Document" is
added but no "Reports Builder Executable". Ideas?
THIS HAS BEEN RESOLVED (METALINK NOTE)
    3. When I click on Ctrl-T or "Build Selection" button on a form, I get an
information dialog: "No items were built". What's up?
    4. When I attempt to open a form, right click and select Edit, it opens the
form and can't find referenced objects (or libraries). Should I be placing
ALL SOURCE in one path, with the project file in there too, and then using a
shortcut to startup Project Builder, or putting the path in the registry??
    5. The BUILD option for the module type of FMB says "Convert from Text" and
when I try Edit Type, the build Action "display in popup menu" is selected.
However, if I right click a form builder document, I see NO "convert from
text option". I DO get the CONVERT To Text option (The SCRIPT action).
Ironically, both have the same HOTKEY. (which is also used by "c"opy)
    6. Why isn't there simply a "Build"/Compile option?
    7. How can I specify a different output directory for the BUILT modules.
They are defaulting to the directory containing the project file? I see
this when I turn on Project: Action Preview
    mode, the output_file parameter.
    8. Also, if I turn this on and Select a Build all, there's NO WAY to stop ALL
OF THE DIALOGS being displayed for each module - what if I want to QUIT in
    the middle of this.
    Any help appreciated!

    Hi Ida
Ensure that your Oracle 9i database instance is up and running.
Also, you must have appropriate settings in your tnsnames.ora for using the Oracle 9i database.

  • Oracle Forms Builder 10g Questions

    Good day everyone,
I want to start off by saying that I'm very new to Oracle Forms Builder (it was dumped on my table about a month ago) and I'm having some issues I need resolved in order to complete a project for a client.
I'm looking mainly for documentation or resources that will show me how to do the following in Oracle Forms Builder 10g:
    * Use either the ENTER button or mouse click to navigate between mandatory fields in a form (currently only TAB works)
    * Populate a field[s] after pressing a search button based on a SQL query
    * Populate a field[s] on launch based on a SQL query
    * Throw a warning message if an SQL query returns with a specific result
    * Populate a drop down menu based on a SQL query (ie only show valid options to user)
    * Remove static highlighting (fields should only be highlighted if necessary, which is never on this particular form)

I've been able to reduce my problem down to the fact that Oracle Forms Builder 10g is not configured correctly on my machine for my environment. I can seem to get Oracle Forms Builder to see my libraries. When I load the form I'm working on I get the following error:
FRM-18108: Failed to load the following objects.
    Source Module:utlf_gui
    Source Object: TOOLBAR_MDI
+... (many more of the one above)+
I press ok and get the following error:
FRM-10102: Cannot attach PL/SQL library sdsl. This library attachment will be lost if the module is saved.
+... (many more of the one above)+
From my various searches on the internet I've learned that this is because Oracle Forms Developer can not find the listed PL/SQL libraries and I should check my Environmental variables. I've set up two Environmental variables with the following:
Forms_Path = C:\<project path>\Lib\   (This is the folder in the project folder where all the PL/SQL libraries are stored)
Forms90_Path = C:\<project path>\Lib\   (This is the folder in the project folder where all the PL/SQL libraries are stored)
I created both Environmental variables because there wasn't any consistency on the sites I was checking to which was needed.
Also if I try to attack a PL/SQL library I get the following error:
Attached library name <name> contains a non-portable directory specification. Remove path?
I press yes or no and get the following error:
PDE-PLI038 Cannot open file for use as a PL/SQL library.
    Any help is much appreciated.

  • How can I make OPAC in Oracle Forms Builder

    Hello everyone,
I'm developing a Library Management System as my project in my Oracle subject.
Can anyone tell me how to make OPAC module of Library management system in Oracle forms builder.
I don't have any idea because this is my first encounter in this system.
    Thanks.
I really appreciate all your help.
    God bless ^^

    Hi,
Simple, using current values you can create new id , 'old' and name so oracle will create record, now refresh block, next using next_record in loop you can find record, erase one and refresh block.

  • Identify forms in Oracle forms Builder

    Hi every one,
I am very very new to Oracle forms and Oracle Builder, how can we find the complexity of a form and also a report, I have the access to the Oracle forms builder and Oracle report builder, Can any one help me how to move further and, how to identify. It would be really great thing, If any one helps me As soon as possible.
    waiting for your suggestions.
    Thanks,
    raki

Is see you double posted this thread, and the other one is also a bit vague.
It is not such a straightforward task to specify complexity. You have to have a good working knowledge of the system. I can give you example about one of our forms. It looks really simple: type in some identifier, and it will show you all open invoices of a customer, Press a button for full or partly payment of the invoices and receipts will be printed.
This involves many things in the background, like checking the financial system. It looks simple (one when-button-pressed trigger), but is very complex indeed.
If you want to migrate from Forms to Apex, you should properly plan it. If you have no experience at all in your company for such a project, you might want to contact a specialized company.

  • What is this Project Builder For

Hello Readers. i want to know why do we use project builder in short also is it used for creating a setup file for the project.
Please mention some proper names for project builder books for oracle 8 available in the market.
    Thank you

Project builder was a tool to manage your forms and reports applications
    Here is the documentation......
    http://download-east.oracle.com/docs/cd/A97336_01/buslog.102/a73073/prjmgmt.htm#997046
I say was because the last version was shipped with Forms 6i, so there is no Project Builder in Forms 9i or 10g and Oracle haven't supplied a replacement.
