am facing below error, while creating oracle rac templates. kindly let us know how to resolve below error.

Try this. It worked for me.
Please keep in mind that you will need wait till each step finishes successfully before move to next one
For Step1 and 2, you can skip node(s) on which you didn't execute root.sh yet.
Step 1: As root, run "$GRID_HOME/crs/install/rootcrs.pl -verbose -deconfig -force" on all nodes, except the last one.
Step 2: As root, run "$GRID_HOME/crs/install/rootcrs.pl -verbose -deconfig -force -lastnode" on last node. This command will zero out OCR and VD disk also.
Step 3: As root, run $GRID_HOME/root.sh on all node one by one

in my tuxedo applicaton, if we use Single Server, Single Queue mode , when reboot any Oracle RAC node, our application is ok, client can get correct result. but if we use MSSQ（Multi Server, Single Queue) , if Oracle RAC node is ok , our application also is ok. but if we reboot any Oracle RAC node, client program can continue run, get correct result, but always get TPEOS error , for this situation， server can get client request, but client can not get server reply, only get TPEOS error.
our enviroment is :
oracle RAC ,10g 10.2.0.4 , two instances ,rac1 rac2, and two DTP services s1 and s2, set s1 and s2 services TAF is basic
tuxedo 10R3 , two nodes ,work in MP model ，use XA access oracle rac database，services have Transaction and not Transaction
OS is linux AS4 U5, 64bits
service program use OCI
can any one encounter this problem ?

I have trying to installa RAC 10g R2 in Windows Server 2008 R2. I am encountering the error below:

this is not enough information to help you with this problem.
=> Have you checked any necessary prerequisites (Documentation and RAC Starter Kit in support.oracle.com)
=> Do you use OCFS or RAW devices for OCR?
=> Do you use an english Windows version or another language?
=> What is included in the clusterware logs?

Oracle RAC 10g/11g on Solaris 10 OS

I am now pretty sure I am confusing my self a lot and probably this solution exist.. or may be not ..
When we have an ACTIVE - PASSIVE Clustering of, say Veritas Cluster 5.0 on Solaris 10 OS running on SPARC Platform, could we configure an ACTIVE - ACTIVE Oracle database cluster on top of this?
In other words , I will configrue Node A and Node B in ACTIVE-PASSIVE Configuration using VERITAS Cluster. Then I will want to configure many oracle database on it in such a way that its running on Node A as well as on Node B. Is this possible ? How does the Oracle configuration change here if it is possible?
I understand that for a database to be ACTIVE, its instance needs to be accessing data files, control files and redo log files continuously.
So if the Oracle database is to be in ACTIVE-ACTIVE Cluster, all its instances should also be accessing necessary filesystems which have these files.
When OS Admin says that it is ACTIVE - PASSIVE Clustering from Veritas, I understand the Filesystems are not accessible from Passive node. So I am not able to understand how can the database be active on that node. Is it possible?
Please share your thoughts, ideas, experiences.. etc.

Yes.. I absolutely agree with you.. If I need to run ACTIVE - ACTIVE Databases, I must have all these resources available on all clustered nodes. In other words, the OS cluster Solution should also be an ACTIVE - ACTIVE. At least, I will need to use oracle clusterware and configure database on ASM and to make sure we have hardware to support this functionality before hand, if the cluster filesystems are not available.
When I modify this approach a little bit, I could go ahead configure ACTIVE - ACTIVE Solaris or Veritas Clusters (if thats okay with the clients in terms of cost), and use clusterware additonally before configuring ACTIVE - ACTIVE RAC databases. I will have all databases required by the application to run multiple instances on the cluster. In other words ACTIVE - ACTIVE every thing until the database layer and let the application use them as it would require.
JDBC Drivers could be a worry factor. I believe the JDBC used by websphere applications behave like thin clients and hence will not be able to utilize the features like load balencing, TAF which are fascinating features Oracle 10g RAC has provided. Perhaps, if I could try get these websphere app behave just like an oracle client/thick client, would be a better answer but these questions will need to go to websphere folks ..

SAP on Oracle RAC+ASM 11g - SWPM installation Option

Dear Experts,
I came across SAP Note 1977393 which is describing the installation steps of a RAC installation with SWPM with an example.
However, the note is not describing the exact preparation steps to be performed on the cluster nodes.
For example, the note doesn't describe if it's required to install the Oracle Grid Infrastructure on the Cluster Nodes before using the SWPM with the RAC+ASM option.

Oracle RAC 11g on Windows 2008 64 bit - blue screen error on both nodes

Hi Everyone,
I installed Oracle RAC 11g on Windows 2008 64 bit, The installation was successfull and crs_state -t shows all services in two nodes are online.
When executed a select query with 100 sessions( For performance evaluation using Transaction generator ) ,the machine got crashed and blue screen is appeared on two nodes. I restrated the machines and and starts the same evaluation ,bt the same bug is repeating.
Can anyone suggest a solution to solve this issue? Is our hardware is not sufficient ? Shall we need to perform any
specific settings in Oracle RAC setup for performance evaluations?
Is our settings for load balancing is not enough? ( We added "Load Balancing= On" on tnsnames.ora on client for load
balancing)

Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66 GHz,
Ram :4GB.

Oracle RAC , Clusterware 11g R2 64 Bit.i guess you have installed/configured RAC using VMware. i guess, the problem is with your RAM size. how much disk space and RAM size you have allocated for each machine?

Enterprise User Security (EUS) with Oracle RAC database

Hi all,
i'm experiencing a problem configuring centralized AAA on Oracle OID for Oracle RAC Database.
My environment is:
1) Oracle OID 10g (192.168.15.245 - rh4oidserver.klab.it)
2) Oracle RAC database 11g
I successfull configured a standalone Oracle Database to authenticate user in OID centralized repository, but i'm experiencing different problem to do, with RAC, same things.
In dept:
1) Oracle RAC works correctly and internal user (SYS,Oracle, ecc.) are correctly authenticated and authorizated against database
2) Oracle RAC register himself in OID (see attached snapshoot)
3) I run sqlplus to connect on Oracle RAC using OID users and i get following error: ORA-28030 Server encountered problems accessing LDAP directory service
Using a sniffer, i can see a reset message after SSL handshake (SSL v3 encrypted alert), but i don't undenstand root cause....

Oracle RAC on VMWare vs. Virtualbox

hello,
has anyone tested Oracle RAC DB 11g performance on VMWare server and on Virtualbox?
I wonder which virtual solution is faster.

I have created several Virtual Machines on my laptop using both VMWare Server 2 and Virtual Box (various versions utilized over time). I have found that the memory overhead of Virtual Box is lower then that of VMWare Server can not answer why I can jsut say that I have more free memory with Virtual Box then with VMWare Server 2 when using Virtual Machines with same configuration. On my Laptop I have not noticed a large performance difference between virtual box and VM Ware Server for Virtual Machines of like resource allocation and activity types, the performance appears to vary more by the resource consumption and activity executing within the VM. If I had to give a gut feel for an overall local VM tool, I like virtual box better then VMWare Server. I also see Virtual Box Updates coming, however not seen an update to VM Ware Server in a while. i have OCA and OCP certification for database administrator 10g , i need to take oracle RAC certification 11g
what is the best scenario should i do .

Your best option would probably be to upgrade your 10g DBA OCP to 11g DBA OCP with exam 050, then move to 11g RAC with exam 058. This way you do not have to complete additional training.

Domain migration of Oracle RAC nodes on windows 2008

Hello masters,
We are planning to migrate servers from old domain to a new domain due to company name change. That is, our DB servers named like db-node-x.old-domain.com will be migrated to db-node-x.new-domain.com. The servers are all on Windows 2008 R2 and Oracle RAC 11g2. As dba, i have no idea about what will happen to DBs. Please let me know any possible solutions?

Oracle VM Templates: Resizing a Template's Disk

Is it possible to shrink (i.e., resize) the Virtual Disk of a Virtual Machine Template? Specifically, I'd like to to reduce the size of the +12GB Virtual Disk that's prepackaged with the OVM_OL6U2_x86_64_PVM template (that comes as part of the Oracle Linux 6 Update 2 template (OVF) - Paravirtualized x86_64 (64 bit) assembly - OVM_OL6U2_x86_64_PVM.ova [Oracle P/N V33689-01]).

Error during installation Oracle RAC 11G

Hi experts;
I'm installing Oracle RAC 11G, this installation will be in two virtual servers, OS Linux redhat.
I began the installation with these steps
Configure Security Updates
then ask for proxy server information (nothing was entered), continue
Installation Option (don't ask anything)
then System Class (Server class selected)
Grid Options
(Real Application Clusters database installation)
when hit ENTER I got this errror message - (INS - 35354) The system on which you are attempting to install Oracle RAC is not part of a valid cluster.
I was looking in some forums an I found one where indicates I should indentiify these files and change some info on them;

Hi,
RAC is a database in a cluster. One Database opened by one o more instances in one or more hosts.
Note: RAC is not a cluster, but a Database cluster.
To allow database be clustered, we need to install a software cluster.
We have some options, but Oracle developed your own software cluster actually named Grid Infrastructure for a cluster AKA Oracle Clusterware.
To install RAC you need first install and configure your cluster.
Before you start install Oracle cluster/RAC I recommend you start with concepts.
