Oracle rdf protege plugin and owl

Does the oracle rdf plugin for protege support writing owl files into oracle rdf storage backend? I tried saving a new protege owl project, and get stack dumps (see below).
Thanks

did you ever figure out your problem? I'm having the same error.
java.sql.SQLException: Io exception: The Network Adapter could not establish the

Not 100% sure where my error is coming from, if its a classpath issue or something else. Just wanted to see if you came up with a solution. Thanks

    I have all the things about oracle 11.2 and protege 3.4.4 ( not 4.x) .Now I am trying to use oracle to storage RDF from protege immediately, but there are a few troubles.

  • Oracle semantic tech inference + Protege plugin

    Hi
    From the Protege Plugin, I've installed a simple Ontology for testing on Oracle 11g, I've added a few individuals to the database with no problem at all, though I can't see the inference on the database!!.
    Jena Adapter for Oracle Database I am using these instructions to install Joseki and a Java client. Everything seems okay, I can query the RDF database and the individuals using Joseki and a Jena client.
    This snippet is part of the client to perform the inference.
    Oracle oracle = new Oracle("jdbc:oracle:thin:@161.x.y.z:1521:NTCSHIST", "user", "password");
            Attachment attachment = Attachment.createInstance(new String[] {}, "OWLPRIME",
                        InferenceMaintenanceMode.NO_UPDATE, QueryOptions.DEFAULT);
            final GraphOracleSem graph = new GraphOracleSem(oracle, "M_NAMED_GRAPHS", attachment);
            System.out.println("Analyzing db...");
            graph.analyze();
            System.out.println("Infering db...");
            graph.performInference();
    After running this code the database it seems inferred, but when I query it, it looks to me the data wasn't inferred.
    Does anyone have any clue to see how to infer data on Oracle?. Maybe I doing something wrong or I misunderstood something because I got empty response when I query for data that it should be inferred. The ontology should be okay, because when i create individuals on Protege and run the reasoner, the inferred data shows up perfectly.
    Cheers

    Hello,
    Due to some trouble I got with Oracle Workshop 10gR3 with JEE5 development, I switch to Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse (OEPE) 11g.
    As I have to use oracle Service Bus 10gR3, I would like to benefit from the Oracle Service Bus plugin bundled with Oracle Workshop.
    I would to avoid switch between two Eclipse's instances (Europa and Ganymede).
    Is it possible to deploy Oracle Service Bus Eclipse's plugin on OEPE 11g?
    Thanks

    May I did not well expressed my question.
    I did not tried to deploy Oracle Service Bud IDE plugins on OEPE 11g.
    I can figure out that this will not work properly.
    If I understand, the plan for the future is to adopt OEPE 11g even for Oracle Service Bud IDE.
    Is there any date for this?
    Thanks

  • Integration of Oracle RDF and Enterprise Search

    Hi,
    Has anyone tried integrating Enterprise Search with the new RDF feature to enable true semantic search?

    It would be interesting to hear from people who have tried this in an application.
    As an FYI, using RDF query capabilities in Oracle, simple PL/SQL code can be written to do this. Consider search based on a query term X. SDO_RDF_MATCH can be used to find all terms related to X in a given ontology/RDF data set. All these terms can then be used in the 'Contains' operator that is part of Oracle Text, to find all documents in a table that contain any of those terms. We have some sample code to do this, if you are interested write to me at melliyal <dot> annamalai <at> oracle <dot> com. Tighter integration is being planned in a future release as well.
    RDF queries can be also combined with other relational queries. An example in Oracle of simple SQL to combine querying RDF with a relational query is as follows:
    SELECT emp1.name, emp1.salary
    FROM emp1, TABLE(SDO_RDF_MATCH(
    '(?name :fatherOf :Matt)',
    SDO_RDF_Models('family'),
    null,
    SDO_RDF_Aliases(SDO_RDF_Alias('','http://www.example.org/family/')),
    null)) t where emp1.name=t.name;
    The father of Matt is found by querying the family model (represented using RDF) using SDO_RDF_MATCH, and his salary is found out by doing a join with the table emp. Since the output of SDO_RDF_MATCH is a table, it can be easily joined with other relational data.

  • Protege Plugin Problem

    I think the sample Protege plugin Oracle provides breaks Protege 3.2.1 - I downloaded it here:
    http://download.oracle.com/otn/other/semantic_tech/protege_oracle_rdf_plugin.zip
    I made a fresh install of Protege, created an oracle directory in the plugins directory, and copied oracle.jar and ojdbc14.jar to that directory as instructed by the README. Then I started Protege and and when I click "New Project" the console dumps a stack trace starting with: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: edu/stanford/smi/protegex/storage/walker/FrameCreator
    Removing the two Oracle files solves the problem. Is anybody using Protege with any success? I need some encouragement here... :-)

    Hi could you help me how to install the plugin protege for oracle, I installed but not working, I can not load data to the database from portege,
    I have the following error

  • Oracle RDF Rules Semantics

    Hi,
    Are the semantics of the rules for Oracle RDF documented anywhere? I'm not exactly sure what I can and cannot say.
    thanks
    John

    I'm trying to create user defined rule function and bind variable in rule syntax, but i dont know how to do that in
    Oracle Db. I did that successfully when i tried in Jena and using RDF/XML File...
    For example i have such RDF/XML file like this :
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <rdf:RDF
    xmlns:rdf="http://www.w3.org/1999/02/22-rdf-syntax-ns#"
    xmlns:owl="http://www.w3.org/2002/07/owl#"
    xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#"
    xmlns="http://www.owl-ontologies.com/Ontology1230795417.owl#"
    xmlns:rdfs="http://www.w3.org/2000/01/rdf-schema#"
    xml:base="http://www.owl-ontologies.com/Ontology1230795417.owl">
    <owl:Ontology rdf:about=""/>
    <owl:Class rdf:ID="Example"/>
    <owl:FunctionalProperty rdf:ID="has_factorialvalue">
    <rdfs:range rdf:resource="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#int"/>
    <rdfs:domain rdf:resource="#Example"/>
    <rdf:type rdf:resource="http://www.w3.org/2002/07/owl#DatatypeProperty"/>
    </owl:FunctionalProperty>
    <owl:FunctionalProperty rdf:ID="has_value">
    <rdfs:range rdf:resource="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#int"/>
    <rdfs:domain rdf:resource="#Example"/>
    <rdf:type rdf:resource="http://www.w3.org/2002/07/owl#DatatypeProperty"/>
    </owl:FunctionalProperty>
    <Example rdf:ID="Example_1">
    <has_value rdf:datatype="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#int" >5</has_value>
    </Example>
    <Example rdf:ID="Example_2">
    <has_value rdf:datatype="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#int">3</has_value>
    </Example>
    </rdf:RDF>
    I have one Class "Example" which has 2 datatype properties : has_value and has_factorial_value, So if I have
    an Example1 as an instance of Example which has_value is 5 then has_factorial_value must be 120.
    So the Rule is
    exampletestrule1: (?b rdf:type h:Example) (?b h:has_value ?z) myfactorial(?z,?rs) -> (?b h:has_factorialvalue ?rs)
    Here for the source code
    Now... The problem is how to implement this user defined rule in Oracle db (create our own builtin function then apply it to oracle semantic rule, in this case, myfactorial

  • Implementing Oracle RDF for existing databases.

    Hi,
    I am a newbie to RDF. I am supposed to dio a PoC for a Oracle RDF. I donot know what is RDF [i have learnt it now], OWL, SPARQL etc...I need advice from experienced people about how to start with a simple applications etc...
    Please let me know if there is any good step by step tutorials and sample code. I have searched the entire web and i couldn't get a good sample code for Oracle RDF projects.
    May i know whether there is any such projects gets implemented in Oracle RDF or is that just a area for research?
    Why do we need Jena API? Why should i opt for Oracle RDF? By what means it is going to give me a performance boost? etc.. are some unanswered questions i still have in my mind.
    Thanks much in advance for your time....
    Regards,
    Sakthi.

    Hi Sakthi,
    My name is Jorge Barba, working in Support for Semantic Technologies.
    We have a set of notes that I can share with you so you can start implementing simple ontologies, I can also present to you a 1hour and a half presentation via remote web conference of Semantics and Oracle. If you are interested please send me an email at [email protected]
    Regards!

  • Layout issue in Oracle rdf

    Hi Experts,
    I am facing a strange issue in oracle rdf reports.
    Requesting an assistance from you.
    I have a report which displays the vendor information.
    For all the vendors the layout is working fine for me, but for one particular vendor the vendor name is splitting into 2 lines as follows.
    EAD - Empresa de Arquivo de
    Documentação, SA
    But it is one name as 'EAD - Empresa de Arquivo de Documentação, SA'.
    Please help me on this. how to display this as a single value.
    Thanks,
    Zaheer.

    This is probably because the field is not wide enough. Check the horizontal elasticity property of this field (and possibly the frames around it).

  • Configuring Apache HTTP Server with Oracle Weblogic Server plugin

    Hello friends,
    I have a scenario of OIM 9.1.0.2 on Oracle Application Server 11g and Weblogic Server Apache HTTP Server.
    Oracle WebLogic Server is configured in cluster (node1 and node2), also use the Oracle Weblogic Server plugin for integration with Apache.
    One of the tests is to lose one of the nodes for the apache plugin redirects the node that has less overhead.
    When the mode is node1 and node2 stop start mode and try to access the management console of Oracle Identity Manager, the plugin sometimes redirects to the other active node, and on another occasion shows the oracle management console identity manager without the colors of the basic look and feel.
    Deputy of the Apache HTTP Server log, do you expect your comments to solve this case?

    "One of the tests is to lose one of the nodes for the apache plugin redirects the node that has less overhead."
    Note that the plug-in does a round robin load balancing, for example, in the case of three server (1,2,3) it does 1-2-3-1-2-3-1...
    with server 3 going down it does 1-2-1-2-1...
    An example configuration (with SSL off) looks as follows:
    LoadModule weblogic_module   "/home/oracle/weblogic12.1.1/apache/modules/mod_wl.so"
    <IfModule weblogic_module>
         ConnectTimeoutSecs 10

    "the plugin sometimes redirects to the other active node"
    This is somewhat strange, do you have session binding turned off?
    "and on another occasion shows the oracle management console identity manager without the colors of the basic look and feel."
    This could happen due to mime types (not really sure just a hunch). Here is a general story on this concept: https://developer.mozilla.org/en/Properly_Configuring_Server_MIME_Types
    and the apache module: http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/mod/mod_mime.html

  • Oracle RDF / Joseki : issue with large literals

    Hi,
    I have been using Joseki to query an Oracle RDF model. There seems to be an issue with large literals (according to a few unreliable tests, I would say this concerns literals around and over 4000 chars).
    Here are the two potential behaviours :
    First case:
    If the results contains several lines, one of which contains an overly large literal, there are NO exception on the server side, but the resulting xml is incomplete.
    It misses the "line" containing the large literal, and the xml is stopped there (which means that it also misses the closing </results> and </sparql>. In my case, I am using the results through Jena's sparqlService, which means I get this message :
    XMLStreamException: Unexpected EOF; was expecting a close tag for element <results>
    +at [row,col {unknown-source}]: [31,0]+
    Second case:
    If the query only returns one line which contains an overly large literal, the client receives a simple *"HttpException: 500 Internal Server Error"*
    Here is the error message from my server :
    +INFO [[ACTIVE] ExecuteThread: '0' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default (self-tuning)'] (SPARQL.java:165) - Throwable: we+

    Please let me know if you need further information / tests.
    Thanks,

    Thanks for your reply.
    While trying to build up a small test case, I found out why there were discrepancies between the two cases I described.
    Indeed, usually, the two cases return the same thing (no exception on the server side, but incomplete resulting XML).
    The exception I described happened when I tried something else. Since I saw that issues were coming from long literals, I used fn:string-length (ARQ) to figure out how long they were.
    The test case resulting in the CLOB-cast-exception is:
    - too large literal
    - only one result "line" containing this literal
    - usage of fn:string-length (which does not change the behaviour in other cases (i.e. no long literals or/and several lines).
    Anyway, you will receive the other test cases shortly.
    Thanks,
    Regards,
    Julien

  • How do you query Oracle RDF database using Java program?

    Does anyone know how to get data out of the oracle RDF database using Java?
    I'm running the following java code and it returns basically null values. My guess is that the get_triple() function returns a dataset other than resultset. I've tried searching the Oracle web site. Am I supposed to be using CLOB object? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
    sql = "SELECT a.triple.GET_TRIPLE() AS triple FROM family_rdf_data a";
    ResultSet rs = stmt.executeQuery( sql ) ;
    while ( rs.next() )
    System.out.println( rs.getString(1) ) ;
    rs.close() ;

    get_triple() returns an object, and the code would be different from the code of retrieving a string. Some sample code for retrieving objects is at http://www.oracle.com/technology/sample_code/tech/java/sqlj_jdbc/files/advanced/advanced.html
    get_subject(), get_property() return strings so the code below should work. get_object() returns a CLOB so different handling would be required and there is some sample code at the link above.

    The DataSetValidator element is an optional element in request dataset. It is one of the child elements of the request-data-set element that describes the user-defined plug-in details meant for validating the dataset attribute values. The request engine runs the implemented plug-in to validate request data during submission. If the validation is successful, then the request gets created. Otherwise, the request is not created. You must implement the plug-in logic. Each dataset can have only one DataSetValidator defined.
    These are the attributes:
    name: This attribute specifies a logical name of the DataSetValidator plug-in.
    classname: This attribute specifies the fully qualified name of the implemented plug-in class.
    The following example shows the DataSetValidator element:
    <DataSetValidator name="CreateUserDataValidator" classname="oracle.iam.requestactions.plugins.datavalidator.CreateUserDataValidator"/>
    And yes, The classname in the DataSetValidators in these default request datasets can be changed to a customized class to have customized validation.
    Check this out:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/doc.1111/e14309/request.htm#CIHCFIAE

  • Weblogic plugin and cluster concepts

    Hi,
    I would like to clearly understand how the plugin and cluster work together in achieving load balancing.
    For example if Apache proxies the request to each server instance in a cluster(if we use weblogic cluster parameter) on the round robin basis. How does the cluster do the the load balancing and how does it respond to webserver. I have read some documentation in edocs but couldnt find anything that would clearly explain how this works. All it talks about is the configuration of plugin and load balancing techniques in the cluster.Please throw some light on this and help me figure out how this thing works.
    Thankyou very much.

    Hi Hoze,
    In Oracle Enterprise Manager lingo, a plug-in simply enables EM to monitor heterogeneous environments. In some cases this capability is available OOB or after the fact.
    The table here
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/oem/extensions/index.html
    makes it clear if a plug-in is available OOB or available for download.
    Thanks

  • Oracle RDF graph DB data modeling

    I am wondering how Oracle RDF graph DB modeling the attributes of the node or relationship? Suppose a node (dubject or object) is a person which has a lot of attriubtes, say age, birthdate, ssn, address, etc, it sounds to me Oracle RDF cannot assoicate attriubtes to the node and instead it just models each attribute as a node in the graph. Is it common practice to include so many attributes in the graph database?

    Hi,
    RDF (and Oracle's RDF offering) in general allows associating as many attributes as you need to nodes in the graph. You are right in saying that those attributes are
    modeled as RDF resources (nodes). This promotes sharing of resources.
    e.g. The first two triples associate the same street resource with two individuals. The third triple
    provides some descriptive information about this street resource.
    <urn:John>  <urn:livesOnStreet>  <urn:StreetXYZ>
    <urn:Mary>  <urn:livesOnStreet>  <urn:StreetXYZ>
    <urn:StreetXYZ>  rdfs:comment  "Sunset Rd. .... "
    It is usually up to an application to determine how many attributes to use. The underlying RDF graph model supports
    multiple attributes and Oracle's RDF implementation supports multiple attributes.
    It is also possible to store attributes in a separate relational table and use a SQL to join the graph query results
    with your relational data.
    Hope it helps,
    Zhe Wu
