Oracle server side log messages

In oracle 10g, is there a way to log SQL commands send to Oracle server?
I am trying to set up a database using a utility came with another product. I would like to capture what commands this utility sends to the oracle database server.
Thanks,

  • Can't see BlazeDS server side log

    Hi,
    I'm running JBoss 5 EAP and BlazeDS 3. I don't see any server side log for BlazeDS even though I followed BlazeDS documentation. Following is the logging section in my services-config.xml:
        <logging>
            <target class="flex.messaging.log.ServletLogTarget" level="All">
                <properties>
                    <prefix>[BlazeDS]</prefix>
                    <includeDate>true</includeDate>
                    <includeTime>true</includeTime>
                    <includeLevel>true</includeLevel>
                    <includeCategory>true</includeCategory>
                </properties>
                <filters>
                    <pattern>Endpoint.*</pattern>
                    <pattern>Message.*</pattern>
                    <pattern>Service.*</pattern>
                    <pattern>Configuration</pattern>
                </filters>
            </target>
        </logging>
    According to the documentation, I should see log entries for BlazeDS in JBoss server log. But I didn't. Can anyone help me out with this issue?
    Thanks.

    Sorry, just as an addedum, I can connect through a hard connection, but I can't access Screen Sharing

  • Insert data 32K into a column of type LONG using the oracle server side jdbc driver

    Hi,
    I need to insert data of more than 32k into a
    column of type LONG.
    I use the following code:
    String s = "larger then 32K";
    PreparedStatement pstmt = dbcon.prepareStatement(
    "INSERT INTO TEST (LO) VALUES (?)");
    pstmt.setCharacterStream(1, new StringReader(s), s.length());
    pstmt.executeUpdate();
    dbcon.commit();
    If I use the "standard" oracle thin client driver from classes_12.zip ("jdbc:oracle:thin:@kn7:1521:kn7a") every thing is working fine. But if I use the oracle server side jdbc driver ("jdbc:default:connection:") I get the exception java.sql.SQLException:
    Datasize larger then max. datasize for this type: oracle.jdbc.kprb.KprbDBStatement@50f4f46c
    even if the string s exceeds a length of 32767 bytes.
    I'm afraid it has something to do with the 32K limitation in PL/SQL but in fact we do not use any PL/SQL code in this case.
    What can we do? Using LOB's is not an option because we have client software written in 3rd party 4gl language that is unable to handle LOB's.
    Any idea would be appreciated.

    At the time our issue was resolved, the bug was not published. And, I was told, there was no information in metalink about the isue. I am not sure whether they published some thing in the last few weeks.
    This is what resolved our issue.
    Step 1: alter system set java_jit_enabled=FALSE;
    Step 2: Try your test case. If it is the same issue as ours, your test case will be successful. If it succeeds, Go to step 3. If it does not succeed, it is a different issue.
    Step 3: alter system set java_jit_enabled=TRUE;
    Step 4: Run your test case. If it is the same issue, it is expected to fail. Go to Step 5 in case of failure.
    Step 5: Delete all rows from table java$mc$
    Step 6: Restart the database
    Step 7: Run your test case. It is expected to be successful.

  • Where to loop: Oracle server side or PHP apache side?

    Hi
    my feeling is that Oracle will be the best place to loop, but I thought I would ask here.
    Essentially I wish to return an array of results to PHP, and while this is not possible directly it can be done with a refcursor
    TYPE cursortype IS REF CURSOR;
    procedure findAllSorted(sortMode in string, resultSet IN OUT cursortype) is
    will then give me myresult set that I can then loop through in PHP and obtain each of the rows returned
    what I am interested to know is will there be any advantage to using a series of arrays as out parameters and then filling them inside oracle? Such as:
    type statement_num_array is table of statement.statement_num%type index by pls_integer;
    type statement_id_array is table of statement.statement_id%type index by pls_integer;
    type statement_text_array is table of statement.statement_text%type index by pls_integer;
    type statement_cat_array is table of statement.category_id%type index by pls_integer;
    then passing this as out parameters to:
    procedure findAllSorted(sortMode in string, statement_nums out statement_num_array....
    this would mean there would be only one call to Oracle rather than repeated calls using the refcur in a loop
    what I'm not sure is "which is better"
    I'm tempted to think that the refcursor is the better way as it is perhaps at least more logical.

    Hi
    better is of course difficult. I would be after effectiveness and code consistency.
    It seems to me that if I use bulk inserts (passing in an array) that I can only make my arrays column data, while when selecting in bulk I seem to only be able to work with refcursor which is essentially returning rows.

  • (ntsii) Sample server-side log in

    Hi Tracey,
    You posted the following link
    http://www.cflex.net/showfiledetails.cfm?ChannelID=1&Object=File&objectID=556
    in a post a few days ago! Very interesting reading... (don't be
    embarrased about it's simplicity, as it's one of the few hopes that
    newbs like me have ;-) thank you)
    The doc says that it may be possible to customise for use
    with PHP! Any tips/suggestions how I might go about doing this?
    Also what exactly are the aspx, jsp & php files
    authenticating against? A file, db or maybe a directory!
    How about taking it a step further & authenticating
    against an LDAP directory? I'm guessing flex couldnt do that
    directly, therefore might the above suggestion to use PHP help.
    TIA
    Danny

    There is an example of a login with PHP on CFLEX.net.
    In the sample, they are authenticating against a bogus
    function, that as I recall, returns true for any non-empty string.

  • How start XA log in Oracle Server 8.1.7

    I'd like to activate Oracle Server XA log while using Oracle 8.1.7 oci
    driver for
    connecting to a 8.1.7 Server. The JDBC log is already active.
    Oracle Documentation states that you must add in the openinfo string of
    the TM
    de following info: DbgFl=15LogDir=/...
    Where can I put that info so weblogic instruct Server to log xa trans?
    I've seen that jdriver config has an openinfo field and it does the job,
    but I want to
    get it with Oracle driver.
    Thanks,
    Josep

    Hi Josep,
    Could you write a small standalone program that can
    activate XA log, and than post it here in the newsgroup?
    We will try to come up with ideas how to turn it on for
    WebLogic.

  • Server-side message transcripts

    In the http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13789_01/bh.100/e13799/services.htm#SERVICE_IM documentation.
    What does "Server-side message transcripts" mean in the Instant Message (IM) section ?
    Does this mean IM session text can be stored in the database ?

    For the service:
    beectl> modify_property --component _ImService name ArchivingEnabled value true
    beectl> activate_configuration
    For each user (xxxxxxx), point the transcripts at a folder in their personal workspace:
    beectl> add_preference_property --set prfs=InstantMessage,user=xxxxxxx \
    name archive_enabled type BOOLEAN --value TRUE
    beectl> add_preference_property --set prfs=InstantMessage,user=xxxxxxx \
    name archive_folder type identifiable\
    --value "fldr=ArchiveFolder,wksp=xxxxxxx's PersonalWorkspace,enpr=...."
    Create the folder first, it's not created on demand.

    hi, you should not do nothing with user root.
    please, don't use root again for weblogic administration.
    list all files with root permissions:
    move to Middleware Home, example: cd /u01/app/oracle/Middleware
    find . -user root
    if there are files with root permissions, change it to oracle:oinstall
    I saw this:
    Could not load Logmanager "oracle.core.ojdl.logging.ODLLogManager"
    java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: oracle.core.ojdl.logging.ODLLogManager
    Please check in DOMAIN_HOME/bin/setDomainEnv.sh file if exist this:
    JAVA_OPTIONS="-Djava.util.logging.manager=oracle.core.ojdl.logging.ODLLogManager ${JAVA_OPTIONS}"
    export JAVA_OPTIONS
    MWCONFIG_CLASSPATH=${FMWCONFIG_CLASSPATH}${CLASSPATHSEP}${COMMON_COMPONENTS_HOME}/modules/oracle.odl_11.1.1/ojdl.jar
    export FMWCONFIG_CLASSPATH
    if exist, replace for:
    JAVA_OPTIONS="${JAVA_OPTIONS}"
    export JAVA_OPTIONS
    if not existe, its necesary for you to use /prosun/jasper/org.apache.commons.logging_1.0.4.jar in your classpath?. If it isn't necesary delete it, and restart the AdminServer.

  • Server side rule filtering and message colorization

    I've been using server side rule filtering (Sieve) to handle all my mail filtering, mainly because I don't have a .Mac account and I have multiple machines that I access my mail from. This setup works really well except I have not been able to figure out how to color a message.
    I've searched and read through emails, but I haven't seen anything else about this problem. I even found a message that had been colorized by Mail's Junk filter, and found that Mail adds an additional mime part onto the message which is a property list that specifies the color of the message.
    What I really want is some way that I can set a header on my message, which Mail will see and apply that color to the message when it caches it on my Mac. A lot of my messages get moved to specific folders, but I still want to colorize them, and as far as I've seen, Mail's rules only work on messages that end up in the INBOX.
    Although I fear that its not possibly, I figured I'd ask for help if anyone has encountered similar problem and solved it.
    -d

    The IMAP-protocol (I suppose that's the one you use, otherwise server side mail filtering won't be visible in Mail.app) does not have any mechanism to transmit colorization information to the client. You have to set up these manually on each client.

  • Turning off server side stack trace in error message for weblogic81

    Hi,
    I am seeing server side stack trace in getMessage() method which is being stuffed
    by application server. I am using weblogic 81. Could you please let me know how
    to turn off that in getMessage() to return my only original message?
    Thanks
    Praveen

    Did you solve this problem? I am facing this problem and don't seem to solve with
    "Instrument Stack Traces" flag

    Hi there,
    In order to manage my own exceptions in some EJB, i have developped some
    classes
    extending Exception.
    Now i would like to display proper messages to the final user, based
    on the messages
    defined in my exception classes.
    Using standard try/catch, i can easily get reference to the exception
    that can
    occur during EJB execution.
    The problem is that my message (myException.getMessage) is followed by
    the extra
    long message generated by the Server and starting with "Start server
    side stack
    trace:".
    For exemple :
    com.xx.ejb.DamageHistoryException: Can't find the price for this object
    (objId=7569,
    sizeCode=LI, colorCode=2)
    Start server side stack trace:
    com.xx.ejb.DamageHistoryException: Can't find the price for this object
    (objId=7569,
    sizeCode=LI, colorCode=2)
    at com.xx.ObjectAccess.getObjectPrice(Unknown Source)
    at com.xx.ejb.ObjectBusinessService.getObjectPrice(Unknown Source)
    <....>
    about 20 lines here !!
    <....>
    Any idea about how to avoid the extra message ??
    Thanx in advance
    Franck

  • Linked Server :: OLE DB provider "OraOLEDB.Oracle" for linked server "ABC" returned message "New transaction cannot enlist in the specified transaction coordinator. ".

    Hello All,
    As mentioned in title, i am stuck up with that articular error from last three days,
    i have following scenario, my SQL server 2008, my oracle 10g are on both same machine with OS Windows Server 2008.
    the following error generated on my management studio when i execute my procedure written in my SQL server. Following is original source code snippet after error massage.
    OLE DB provider "OraOLEDB.Oracle" for linked server "ORCL" returned message "New transaction cannot enlist in the specified transaction coordinator. ".
    Msg 50000, Level 16, State 2, Procedure PROC_MIGRATE_MST_FRM_ORA_SQLSERVER, Line 43
    The operation could not be performed because OLE DB provider "OraOLEDB.Oracle" for linked server "ORCL" was unable to begin a distributed transaction.
    BEGIN TRY
    -- MIGRATION OF PR_COMPANY_MH START
    BEGIN TRANSACTION T1
    PRINT 'mILAN NNNNNNNNN 11'
    INSERT INTO PROD.PR_COMPANY_MH
    SELECT * FROM OPENQUERY(ORCL, 'SELECT * FROM PR_COMPANY_MH WHERE SQL_FLG = ''N'' ')
    PRINT 'mILAN NNNNNNNNN 12'
    UPDATE OPENQUERY(ORCL, 'SELECT SQL_FLG FROM PR_COMPANY_MH WHERE SQL_FLG = ''N''')
    SET SQL_FLG = 'Y'
    --EXECUTE ('UPDATE PROD.PR_COMPANY_MH SET SQL_FLG = ''Y'' ') AT [ORCL]
    PRINT 'mILAN NNNNNNNNN 13'
    COMMIT TRANSACTION T1
    -- MIGRATION OF PR_COMPANY_MH END
    END TRY
    BEGIN CATCH
    PRINT 'mILAN NNNNNNNNN 14'
    ROLLBACK TRANSACTION T1
    PRINT 'mILAN NNNNNNNNN 15'
    SELECT
    @ErrorNumber = ERROR_NUMBER(),
    @ErrorSeverity = ERROR_SEVERITY(),
    @ErrorState = ERROR_STATE(),
    @ErrorLine = ERROR_LINE(),
    @ErrorProcedure = ISNULL(ERROR_PROCEDURE(), '-');
    PRINT 'mILAN NNNNNNNNN 16'
    SELECT @ErrorMessage = ERROR_MESSAGE();
    RAISERROR (@ErrorMessage, @ErrorSeverity, @ErrorState, @ErrorNumber, @ErrorProcedure)
    PRINT 'mILAN NNNNNNNNN 17'
    END CATCH
    this perticular part is raising that error, and i had tried every configuartion on my local machine related to MS DTC.
    When i remove my transaction code, its work just fine no exception raise, but when i use then i.e. BEGIN TRAN, COMMITE TRAN, AND ROLLBACK TRAN. its giving me error, other wise its fine.
    Please Help or disscus or suggest why my transaction base code is not woking????
    thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Milan

    Sorry again, I am new on any kind of forum, so i am learning now, following is the error massage generated by SQL Server. and its not
    an architecture problem, i had just included my complete architecture to be more informative while asking for the solution or suggestion. My real problem is T-SQL, i think and its related to Distributed queries raise in SQL Server in Oracle Link Server.
    OLE DB provider "OraOLEDB.Oracle"
    for linked server "ORCL" returned message "New transaction cannot enlist in the specified transaction coordinator. ".
    Msg 50000, Level 16, State 2, Procedure PROC_MIGRATE_MST_FRM_ORA_SQLSERVER,
    Line 43
    The operation could not be performed because OLE
    DB provider "OraOLEDB.Oracle" for linked server "ORCL" was unable to begin a distributed transaction.
