Oracle Sevice Bus IP address problem

Dear Expert:
A Customer find that when they use proxy service(based on business service or based on wsdl) and export to wsdl, always find the endpoint is point to
Oracle service bus's hostname,but they really want it to point the the IP address of the machine(which osb is install).
So anyone have experiece to let osb gerenate the ip address not the hostname?
Thanks for any reply.

try setting ip address in weblogic frontendhost property..this might work if your osb is a clustered deployment

  • WS-addressing through Oracle Service Bus

    Hi,
    I'm trying to setup a business process, which is running on IBM WebSphere Process Server, and this need to call a web service through Orcale Service Bus, asynchronously (since this is a long running web service, the process will call it and wait for the answer in a different process step). My scenario is just like the one described here in "Advanced Use Case: asynchronous - Calling Service Providers from Oracle BPEL Process Manager" http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13159_01/osb/docs10gr3/bpelpmtransport/transport.html... but the client is not Oracle BPEL Process Manager. So my question is, can I use this WS-Addressing based mechanism, in Oracle Service Bus, from another kind of client? Which are the main step to get this?

    If I'm not wrong, WS-Addressing is only supported in conjunction with WS-Transport (WSRM- Reliable messaging) http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/doc.1111/e15866/ws.htm#BACJJHBI
    Normal HTTP transport BS might not be of much help in your use-case. You can raise enhancement request for the same.
    Thanks

  • Oracle Service Bus configuration project deployment problem

    I cannot deploy the "OSB30 Book Conf" configuration project to the server. "The specified domain path is not a valid Oracle Service Bus domain" error appears. Where is the domain path specified? Where can I get know which paths are valid Oracle Service Bus domains?
    I am using OSB 10.3.1, WebLogic server 10.3, Oracle Workshop for WebLogic 10.3 running on RHEL4.
    Thank you.

    Your first message about "THE SPECIFIED DOMAIN PATH IS NOT A VALID ORACLE SERVICE BUS DOMAIN" is the most annoyingly stupid message and wasted days of my time when I was trying to script the creation of an OSB domain.
    The way Workshop decides that a domain is a valid OSB domain or not is by checking the config.xml for the prescense of "lib/kernel.ear" - if that's not EXACTLY like that, that it decides its not a valid domain.
    If you look in the config.xml, you must have an entry like
    <app-deployment>
    <name>XBus Kernel</name>
    <target>AdminServer</target>
    <module-type>ear</module-type>
    <source-path>C:\osb1031\osb_10.3/lib/kernelEar</source-path>
    and not something like this
    <app-deployment>
    <name>XBus Kernel</name>
    <target>AdminServer</target>
    <module-type>ear</module-type>
    <source-path>c:\domains\user_projects\applications\MyESB11g/kernelEar</source-path>
    It's all to do with the path you choose for the applications when creating the domain and there's a bug raised for it. Sounds like you're working anyway.

  • Query regarding the tutorial for Oracle Service Bus (OSB 10gR3)

    Hi,
    I am working on a tutorial of Oracle Service Bus (OSB 10gR3).
    I have created the proxy service and the Business Service, using Oracle Service Bus console.
    The details are as follows:
    Proxy service: LoanGateway
    Business service1: A value of 4.9 or less causes the message to be routed to the ManagerLoanReview business service.
    Business service2: A value of 5.0 or greater causes the message to be routed to the NormalLoan business service.
    When i send the request message, so that it gets routed from proxy service to one of the business service than it gives following error.

    I have the same problem and I'm not able to telnet localhost on port 7021. How can I change this port number I think that port must be 7001, it is correct?Examples server domain is pre-configured for port 7021. The samples domain will have the examples properly deployed in this domain out of box. You dont need to change any thing in {BEA_HOME}\osb_10.3\samples\domains\servicebus\config.
    I doubt this has to do something with firewall . Check the last statement in the log after starting the domain.

    You are receiving a 404 error which means that the binding to the SB is not correct or there is a problem with the SB end part of the integration.
    Are you able to test this successfully from an automatic activity for example aside from trying to use it within a screenflow ?
    Thanks !

  • How do I install Oracle Service Bus?

    Much thanks to anyone who can help! I have been a developer for 20 years and I have never had so much trouble with run a setup program.
    I am trying to install Oracle Service Bus 11g on a Windows 7 machine. I have successfully installed WebLogic 10.3. The Oracle Service Bus installation program wants me to enter the paths for Oracle Middleware Home, Oracle Home Directory, Weblogic Server Location and OEPE Location. No matter what I enter for these I am told they are incorrect. For example:
    Specified Weblogic home location is not a valid location.
    Let's concentrate on just the Weblogic home location. I have tried every directory and sub-directory where Weblogic has been installed. No matter what path I enter, I get the error message above.
    Setup defaults this path location to C:\bea_default\wlserver_10.3 so I tried copying everything to this path. Still I am told the location is not a valid location. How does anyone ever get this to work? What am I doing wrong?

    Hi.
    I have exactly the same problem than 786801. In the "Specify Installation Location" screen of the Oracle Service Bus installation process, after providing the correct paths, the message "INST-07248: Specified Weblogic home location is not a valid location" appears.
    WebLogic Server 10.3.3 is installed in /opt/oracle/middleware
    The folder wlserver_10.3 exists under that path, so I'm entering /opt/oracle/middleware/wlserver_10.3 as WebLogic Server Location.
    In addition to the WebLogic Server, I have installed SOA Suite 11g without problems. The database schemas for that products have been created with the Repository Creation Utility.
    I don't know what to do. Any help would be so much appreciated.
    Here are some lines of the installation log, where the problem appears:

  • Oracle Packaged Application "Google Map" - Problem Found

    To Oracle Webmaster and Support Team,
    In the APEX Sample Code from the page (http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/packaged_apps/packaged_apps.html#INTEGRATION).
    The "Google Map" Application Preview (http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=34481:1:4401939335008683) has some issues.
    After entering an address and click the button "Get Geocode", the following error message display: "ORA-29273: HTTP request failed ORA-06512: at "SYS.UTL_HTTP", line 1577 ORA-24247: network access denied by access control list (ACL)" (Error Calling Geocode Service).
    I apologize if this is the incorrect place to post this message, I cannot find any other place to post this issue to Oracle.
    Thanks.
    JT

    JT,
    On the Oracle hosted web site, that 'problem' will never be fixed, mainly because to fix it, it could allow a whole series of approaches for their system to be 'hacked'.
    In short, for Oracle to allow that access on their server, for anybody to execute, would be a huge security problem. On your own site, then you can limit which users/schema would have that privilege, so it's not as big of a secuirty threat on your site. Though, that also doesn't mean nobody on your site could inadvertently grant the permission and open your site up to potential attacks, but that's a completely different problem.

  • SOAP Header Security in Oracle Service Bus

    Currently we are in the process of implementing the SOAP Header Security through Oracle Service Bus. We have a requirement that BPEL need to call a external web service. That web service will be registered in OSB. While making the call, the OSB need to add the SOAP security header(user name & Pwd) in proxy service before forwarding the request to business service. Can you please help me find some information about that.

    Hi Manoj,
    The request payload which is going to the target is
    <soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
    <soap:Header xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
    </soap:Header>
    <soapenv:Body>
    <man:GetDefaultRechargeValuesRequest xmlns:man="http://www.NII.com/ManagePrepaidRecharge/workflow/ManagePrepaidRecharge">string</man:GetDefaultRechargeValuesRequest>
    </soapenv:Body>
    </soapenv:Envelope>
    whereas the target expects the soap header populated. the payload expected by the target is
    <soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
    <soap:Header xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
    <gsa:Authentication xmlns:gsa="http://www.nextel.com.br/Wbs/Gsa">
    <gsa:Account>test</gsa:Account>
    <gsa:Password>test</gsa:Password>
    <gsa:Guid>f65748e63b01</gsa:Guid>
    </gsa:Authentication>
    </soap:Header>
    <soapenv:Body>
    <man:GetDefaultRechargeValuesRequest xmlns:man="http://www.NII.com/ManagePrepaidRecharge/workflow/ManagePrepaidRecharge">string</man:GetDefaultRechargeValuesRequest>
    </soapenv:Body>
    </soapenv:Envelope>
    The Problem now is, when i call a business service(WSDL of the target) from a proxy service and when i set the above expression to the $header using replace action in the proxy service itself, the above expression,instead of going as a request to the business service, it is populated in the response.
    <soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
    <soap:Header xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
    <gsa:Authentication xmlns:gsa="http://www.nextel.com.br/Wbs/Gsa">
    <gsa:Account>test</gsa:Account>
    <gsa:Password>test</gsa:Password>
    <gsa:Guid>f65748e63b01</gsa:Guid>
    </gsa:Authentication>
    </soap:Header>
    <soapenv:Body>
    <ns0:GetDefaultRechargeValuesResponse xmlns:ns0="http://www.NII.com/ManagePrepaidRecharge/workflow/ManagePrepaidRecharge">
    <ns0:StandardHeaderBlock>
    <ns2:ServiceState xmlns:ns2="http://xmlns.oracle.com/apps/StandardHeaderBlock">
    <ns2:errorCode>SOA_ERR_TARGET_SYSTEM_FAILURE</ns2:errorCode>
    <ns2:errorDesc>
    OSB Service Callout action received an error response
    </ns2:errorDesc>
    </ns2:ServiceState>
    </ns0:StandardHeaderBlock>
    </ns0:GetDefaultRechargeValuesResponse>
    </soapenv:Body>
    </soapenv:Envelope>
    Since the authentication details are not reaching the target, it is giving a target system failure. Can you suggest a remedy to this please.

  • Resilience in oracle service bus

    HI to all,
    I'm getting a problem because i have have a process in oracle service bus, that have a split-join and when a OSB server is shutdown the split-join stop and when the server are started up it don't restart i can i have resilience to overcome this problem.
    Best Regards

    Hi,
    Documentation states:
    Split-Joins provide support for propagating transactions. Operations set with a QoS of Exactly Once are executed in the transaction. Operations set with a QoS of Best Effort do not execute in the context of a transaction.
    Split-Joins do not handle transaction rollback in the case of exceptions. It is the responsibility service component that called the Split-Join to handle transaction exceptions and rollback.
    The last statement is quite difficult to understand... I believe you need to handle a fail in the caller of the split join and possibly do a retry from there... The split join won't restart by itself...

  • Oracle Service Bus - Unix authorization over telnet

    Hi all,
    I'm completely new to Oracle's Service Bus. The problem I'm facing is that OSB 11g is to be used in a rather specific environment meaning - OSB needs to send CSV formatted messages over telnet to a Legacy System. Before that the connection must be authorized with a Unix login and password. As login/pass authorization is fairly simple with such transports as FTP or HTTP I came up with two solutions:
    developing a new socket transport with an appropriate authorization procedure (ie. using http://sadun-util.sourceforge.net/) basing on sample-transport that comes with the OSB installation
    JMS using JCA socket adapter and Java Callout with an authorization method in request pipeline - is the one valid?
    My question is what is the best way to resolve the problem? Is there any preferred way of dealing with such problems?
    Thanks in advance for your answers.
    Regards,
    P.

    Ok, I understand. Another legacy service pain. :-)
    Well, the information you also need a response (and not only one-way file transport) is new to me and it changes a lot. I agree that in this case ftp is not a good choice.
    I recommended java callout because I follow the idea that obscure solutions should be handled quickly and easily so one can focus on clean solution later rather than expensive and still inaccurate solution now. However, if you think your legacy system will live with you for years, than you can try custom transport instead. It will be more comfortable to work with and that's important for long-term solutions.
    If you decide to try java callout option, than you don't have to care about custom transport implementation at all. You can create custom Java class using for example telnet client from http://sadun-util.sourceforge.net/ (as you suggested) and that's all. One simple JAR with your client (static java method) called from your proxy flow. You can even use service account with your java callout through fn-bea:lookupBasicCredentials:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13171_01/alsb/docs30/userguide/xquery.html#wp1101438
    I've never tried that, but I think that with custom transport provider you can have a better support for using service account (without that xpath function).
    By the way, this is quite interesting source for design considerations:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13171_01/alsb/docs25/transportsdk/architecture.html#wp1046994
    You should also give the forum search a try. Some similar topics were discussed here in the past.

  • Oracle Service Bus 11gR3(11.1.1.3.0) Clustering Configuration Error.

    Hi ,
    I am trying to configure a domain with a AdminServer and 2 Managed servers hosting Oracle Service Bus.
    I created a admin server and it started up fine. Then i extended the domain and checked on Oracle Service Bus and tried to create two managed servers and assigned it to a cluster.
    Though when i created a managed server assigned to a cluster it was all working fine. I would like to create another managed server and assign it to the cluster.
    Any help with this problem would be very helpful.
    As soon as I assign two servers to the cluster I get an exception and the Configuration Wizard throws exception.

    Anuj,
    Thanks for your reply.
    May be i was not too clear in my previous post.
    I do not see this problem when i start the managed servers.
    I stumble across this problem when i try to configure a cluster containing two managed servers in the configuration wizard. Earlier i had run the rcu utility while installing OSB on top of weblogic server.
    So when i try to create a domain with osb it checks for DEV_SOAINFRA and i change the default derby connection to oracle(my database) and then to test i tried creating a cluster with one managed server it seemed to be working fine.
    Now i tried creating two managed servers in a cluster in configuration wizard as soon as i try to assign one managed server to cluster its fine , once i assign the second managed server it fails with that exception and the configuration wizard displays error occured and it terminates.
    The exact problem is as soon as i assign two managed servers to a cluster it fails(configuration wizard)
    I would guess its a problem creating a distributed jsm system with queue and topics that osb uses.
    Note : - It would be helpful as well if i can somehow create a distributed jms system used by osb for other managed server (using WLST), and then i can create a new managed server in the Admin console and assign it to the cluster as well.

  • Oracle Service Bus 10gR3 - Failed to obtain WLS Edit lock

    My question is, how do I release this lock?
    The gory details follow ...
    Oracle Service Bus 10gR3 on Windows 2003 Enterprise.
    I am following Tutorial 1. (Sheesh, I can't even get that right!)
    Around page 3-28 - "To test the Routing of the Loan Application ManagerLoanReviewService".
    Point 1 says to start the server. Without thinking, I did just that.
    The problem is, it was already running, otherwise, I would not have been using the sbconsole to do the editing.
    Of course, it detected it was already running and didn't start again.
    Problem is, after the server shuts down, the command files shutdown PointBase.
    So, after a mistaken startup, I ended up with a server with no database underneath it.
    Fine, I restarted it.
    Now, using the activate session ("sbconsole/sbconsole.portal?_nfpb=true&_windowLabel=ViewChangesPortlet&ViewChangesPortlet_actionOverride=%2Fchangemgmt%2FSessionActivate&_pageLabel=ChangeManagement&ViewChangesPortletactivate=activate")
    I cannot activate my session, as it says the following :-
    Failed to obtain WLS Edit lock; it is currently held by user weblogic. This indicates that you have either started a WLS change and forgotten to activate it, or another user is performing WLS changes which have yet to be activated. The WLS Edit lock can be released by logging into WLS console and either releasing the lock or activating the pending WLS changes.
    I show outstanding sesssions, there is only one.
    I switch to that session.
    I still cannot activate this session.
    I have tried re-starting the AdminServer.
    It talks about releasing the lock in the WLS Admin console. Where? How?
    Thanks in advance.
    ...Lyall
    PS. I gave up on this and simply blew the whole lot away and started again (returned to post installation and re-started the entire tutorial). However, it would be useful to know how to fix this properly, if ever I end up in the same scenario again.

    Although the Undo all changes might work in some cases, it could be the case that some files still remain and are even the AdminServer could not be started.
    The lock files are usually located in the domain directories.
    For example
    Domain demo:
    $BEA_HOME/user_projects/domains/demo/edit.lok or $BEA_HOME/user_projects/domains/demo/weblogic_eval.lck
    --olaf

  • Oracle service bus cache flush/clear - business service

    Hi Everyone,
    We are currently using oracle service bus as an integration platform. We are conducting a disaster recovery exercise for on of the applications (A) integrated to OSB, but the OSB is always connecting to the primary node of the application A though the DNS at application A is pointing to the secondary node.
    We believe this is happening because OSB is caching the IP address of the application A (though it is using DNS) and keeps connecting to the same server even if the primary traffic is diverted to the secondary node.
    Can someone please let us know if there is a way we can clear the cache of the business service (used to connect to the application A) without restarting the servers?
    Thank you.

    Yes, by default the JVM will cache the name resolution. You can change this behaviour by adding the TTL in the managed server startup parameters as follows:
    -Dnetworkaddress.cache.ttl=120 -Dnetworkaddress.cache.negative.ttl=10
    The above parameters mean that the JVM will cache the name resolution for 2 minutes in case of success and for 10 seconds in case of a failure.
    For testing purposes, you can reduce the ttl from 120 seconds, but when in production make sure that this value is not too low.

  • Oracle service bus Business service - Cache Flush/clear

    Thank you.
    Regards,
    Ram

    Yes, by default the JVM will cache the name resolution. You can change this behaviour by adding the TTL in the managed server startup parameters as follows:

    If you follow the above, you don't have to restart anything and you don't have to write any script. The IP address is going to be updated as long as the DNS server is being updated correctly (you can easily test by pinging the host name)
