Oracle Spatial Web Services in ADF application

Hi,
I want to use Oracle Spatial Web Services in an ADF application (JDeveloper 11.1.2) to retrieve Longitude/Latitude after inserting/upating an address record.
Is there any sample app or documentation on how to do this?
Thank you,
Monica

I never did solve the problem. I decided to try out GeoServer for WFS and am very impressed. It was much easier to install and pretty feature-filled as well with a lot of documentation. I would definitely suggest checking it out to see if it will fit your needs.

  • How to call OWSM secured web-service from ADF application

    I have a OWSM secured web-service, which takes username/password.
I want to invoke this webservice from ADF application. ADF application has its own security and it takes its own username/password. End user can't provide the username/password for web-service call. My ADF application should call the webservice and provide it appropriate username/password.
What is the best practice to handle such scenario. I don't want to hardcode username/password in Java (ADF) code.
    Thanks
    Sanjeev.

it is not clear to me if you are having problems with calling java code from OIM or if the problem is the web service API.
Lets do some divide and conquer:
Can you create a simple java class that just writes a couple of lines to the log? Please attach this code to the OIM task and make sure it runs.
Once this works we can start looking at the web service call.
    Best regards
    /Martin

  • "Running Oracle Spatial Web Services" tutorial error

    Hi,
I am currently working on setting up the WFS service with OC4J. I completed the initial tutorial to set it up and everything went well. I am now trying to run the WFS demos from WSCLIENT and using this tutorial: http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/11gr1_db/datamgmt/spatialws/spatialws.htm.
I just focused on the WFS Relational features and did the following:
Ran @wfsrelmd.sql and users/tables/grants were all successful.
Ran compileAndRunClient.bat runwfsct and the feature was created successfully.
Ran compileAndRunClient.bat runwfsrel and received the following error in the OC4J server shell:

  • SMS Web Services Using ADF BC

We would like to implement SMS web services using ADF BC. Could u please help us to point us to the right path to start this. The SMS web services will send the logs, errors or exception generated by Oracle ADF based application to mobile phones. The recipient of this is an IT administrator or those who will maintain the application.
Aside from the software architecture, what are necessary technical implementation or hardware infrastructure needed to implement this? Is the Oracle wireless already integrated with the Oracle 10g AS?

Are you already familiar with ADF BC and just trying to implement a web service with it?
I'm not familiar with what special facility an "SMS Web Service" would need. If you can implement it as a simple java class, you can implement it as a simple java class that uses ADF Business Components for sure.

  • How to do web services between two applications

I have tried to get a complete example about how to do a web service between two applications in ADF
but I saw all the put examples that describe only how to do a web service and test it in the same application.
Please, I want to see a whole example that shows a web service between two applications (in Oracle ADF).

    Hi Frank!
    thanks for your reply!!
let me please tell you what I exactly did!!
I built two applications in ADF let's say A and B, and I made a web service from the application A
and I want the application B to use it .. the problem I encountered was that an error raised ..
when I tested the web service in the same applicatin (A) everything was right ..

  • While consuming Fusion CRM web service in ADF mobile throwing an error

    Hi,
I am developing ADF Mobile using JDeveloper

While executing CRUD operations with these web services
in ADF mobile app, I am getting SOAP response as *Error in getting response
    and got result nothing *.
And also noticed as using JDeveloper ADF mobile App, unable to create URL service
Data Control - REST based for FUsion CRM web services. Where as I am able to
create SOAP based web services data control. It' strange or surprise.
Did anyone face the above problems. Kindly let me know any suggestions or

    Dear Frank,
Based on below links, Fusion CRM also supports REST also apart from regular SOAP Web Services.
    http://niallcblogs.blogspot.in/2012/10/204-calling-rest-service-from-fusion-crm.html AND
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E15586_01/fusionapps.1111/e20388/F412758AN17B21.htm
(For e.g one of linked in profile :http://www.linkedin.com/in/minalkhodani , many teams are developing using SOAP & REST)
Designed and developed integration services using SOAP and REST web services for Oracle Fusion CRM Marketing Modules.)
When creating URL based data control, getting an Error as "Forbidden" , (Does it mean NOT SUPPORTED??) . Kindly advice.

  • Publish XDB web service on apex application

Could any one please help me out to use native oracle XML DB web service on apex application.
In apex application, basically i need to have a report that displays all PO requests with links to each request # to drill down to the form page where the vendor are allowed to submit some corresponding data to th PO request.
All i need is to know how do i use the native oracle XML DB web service to show the report to the vendors with drill down links and capture the data, the vendor submits through the form.
    Thanks in advance!!
    Regards,
    Rame

I think you might be on the wrong track. Web services don't "show" anything really. They take in either XML in the case of SOAP-style web services or an HTTP request in the case of restful web services. They typically return XML, but can return JSON or other machine readable formats. Web services don't have forms and reports. More information here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_service . To have a human interact with a web service, you typically have a UI layer. For instance, in APEX you can build a form or a report on a web service (the same is true for most popular web technologies).
In APEX 4.0+ you can expose a report as a restful web service, but I really don't think that is what you want to do. There's no way that I can think of to use the XDB web services to expose any component of APEX.
In short, people interact with web applications, such as APEX apps. Machines, such as databases or application servers, interact with web services.
So, do you need to expose some component of your application as an API (web service) that vendors can call programmatically from some other technology such as Java or PHP? Or do you want to build a web application that people can interact with?

  • Oracle 9i Web Services Quickstart Install TCP tunneling problem

    m_httpConnection.setProperties(props);
Not sure what to call the server - this works okay when I'm not using tunneling and using our proxy server??

I think your problem is that you have a proxy user/password and the TCP Monitor (both the command line and built-in 9.0.3 version) do not support that - they only support specification of the proxy server itself :-(
It is a feature request that I hope will make it into the late spring/early summer release of JDeveloper - I wrote it up as a request based on the number of folks who faced this issue with these tutorials.

  • WS-I fails with Oracle Generated Web Service

    Hi
I recently used WS-I Analyzer to analyze the HTTP Analyzer logs. I get the following error:
    SSBP1003
The Content-Type header is not present.
    Element Location:
    lineNumber=19
    SSBP5101
The message either (1) did not have a "Content-Type" HTTP header field, or (2) the "Content-Type" HTTP header field had a field-value whose media type was something other than "text/xml"
    Element Location:
    lineNumber=19
    Any ideas?

I successfully developed the oracle native web service for returning single record but the next challenge is to develop web service in order to return multiple record (like Employees data base on each department)You could return a list (multiple values/records) in XML format (using XMLType or CLOB), or CSV, or JSON, or whatever.
function get_employees (p_department_id in number) return clob
    as
    begin
      return 'your_xml_string_here';
end get_employees;It would be up to the client (the caller of the web service) to extract the values from whatever format you decide upon, of course.

    Hi Vijay,
    Thanks for the Reply.
Please provide the JAR Files i need to add.
I had tried to consume the web service by using the java class in Java Project ie EJB.
After creating the Project i will import the WSDL file in that Project and create the Client Application.
The Request and Response java class is created by importing the WSDL file.
The Client Java Class is created to access the Request and Response objects.
After this Main class is created and I have run the application to execute the Client Java Class. During this time its shows some error.
